The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. We ate in the restaurant in the evening finding the food to be of a high standard as was the breakfast. The location was perfect for our onward journey to the Chunnel.

Perfect location on route to Europe, we have stayed there a number of times in the past and the rooms were a little tired, but this time our room was newly refurbished and very smart. Good menu and dining, and a fair sized car park.

For a one night stay with our dog i asked for a room near the exit but unfortunately they didn't get the request or know we had the dog . It was a ling way to lug everything but overall a great stay

Difficult to reach out of hours reception. Thankfully someone inside the restaurant managed to help us out before the manager on call duty.

Das Essen und Trinken war sehr gut, gemütlicher Pub, schön eingerichtete Zimmer.

Es gab keine Klimaanlage, es war sehr heiß im Zimmer (Sommer). Leider wurde ausgerechnet in dieser Nacht die Straße repariert, die Maschinen waren so laut, dass man einfach nicht schlafen konnte.

This was a one-night stopover before taking the Eurotunnel, and a very positive experience. Pleasant staff, comfortable rooms, dog-friendly, good dinner, lovely breakfast... everything we could hope for on our last night in the UK.

Unfortunately there's no air-conditioning and with the exceptionally hot weather this summer the room was stifling, even with the window open.

Ease of access from the motorway, nice welcome, in a nice setting. Super clean. Lots of available parking. Lovely staff. Great breakfast !

Our room was excellent. Lots of parking. It was definitely worth going for the suite as it was well equipped, a great size and very comfortable.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir haben im hoteleigenen Restaurant sehr gut gespeist. Unser Zimmer wurde erst renoviert und auch das Bad war nahezu neuwertig. Für uns ist das Conningbrook Hotel unser erster Anlaufpunkt nach der Überfahrt nach England und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sitzgelegenheiten im Außenbereich waren nicht sehr sauber.

L'isolation phonique, on a entendu la télé du voisin en sourdine toute la nuit. Vive les bouchons d 'oreille.

Wir waren nur zum Zwischenstopp, leider hat eine Band bis 23 Uhr gespielt. Daher war das Aufstehen um 6 Uhr etwas zäh. Wenn wir mehr Zeit gehabt hätten, wäre die Band aber eine echte Bereicherung gewesen, schade.

Was more than I expected. The location was ideal, lots of parking, the food we ordered for dinner and then breakfast the next day was delicious. Plenty of room to sit indoors and outside. The rooms were just the right size - not too small and had everything you needed. Beds were very comfortable and the staff were lovely.

There was nothing I didn't like maybe just a couple of suggestions to make my next stay better, I think there should be aircon in the rooms, a small fridge and more lighting outside at the tables if you choose to eat your food outside in the evenings.

Wie die Bewertung von 8,4 zustande kommt, kann ich ehrlich gesagt nicht richtig nachvollziehen. Obwohl es gar nicht so warm war, war es unfassbar heiß im Gebäude. Das Fenster des Zimmers war leider geschlossen, so dass es sehr warm und stickig im Zimmer war. Außerdem war es sehr am miefen, vor allem das Bad war sehr muffig im Geruch und sehr alt und abgewirtschaftet. Wir waren nur auf der Durchreise von der Westspitze Cornwalls und mussten für die Fähre am nächsten Tag um 5 Uhr aufstehen. Allerdings wurde bis 23 Uhr im Festsaal mit super lauter Musik gefeiert. Der Saal befindet sich genau unter den Zimmerfenstern. Bei ein bisschen Lautstärke hätte ich nichts gesagt aber das war wirklich komplett übertrieben. Man konnte sich mit 1m Abstand im Zimmer nicht mehr unterhalten. Man konnte die Zeit bis 23 Uhr noch nicht einmal mit TV oder Hörbuch überbrücken weil man nichts verstehen konnte. Es war beim Check in ein Hinweis, dass bis 23 Uhr Musik gespielt wird, aber damit haben wir nicht gerechnet. Darüber hinaus kommt der Hinweis zu dem Zeitpunkt etwas spät. Hätte vielleicht vor der Buchung schon erwähnt werden dürfen. Ich sehe mich als Kunde nicht in der Situation mich vor Buchung selbst aktiv informieren zu müssen, ob in dem Hotel laute Musik gespielt wird. Naja, aber auch ohne Musik würde ich dieses Hotel nicht erneut buchen. Die Preis-Leistung stimmt hier einfach komplett gar nicht. Als Low-Budget hätte ich vielleicht 1-2 Punkte mehr vergeben können, aber für 140€ pro Nacht bewegt man sich da auf London Niveau für gleichwertige Hotels. Ist einfach viel zu viel für das Gebotene. Schade

The room was exceptional

Although we were offered the breakfast menu, we went for the buffet. There was an excellent selection of cereal, fruit, toast and other items, including juices which we had before the buffet. However, the buffet breakfast was not that great, but not the worse cooked breakfast we've had. Maybe in the future just offer the cooked breakfast menu and do away with the buffet?

Location and staff were very good

There was clearly a water supply issue , number of guests were complaining . It was resolved, just bad luck I would say . I did not complain as you had it in hand

A perfect location for an overnight stay before catching Le Shuttle. The room was perfectly fine but the highlight were the staff who were exceptional.

For a hotel within 20 minutes of Le Shuttle it was disappointing that breakfast did not start until 0730. That being said the staff accommodated our request for an earlier continental breakfast which was greatly appreciated.

We stayed for a very short overnight stay just before catching an early ferry from Dover. The hotel is very well located for this and we made it to Dover within 25 mins of leaving. The hotel staff were wonderful, welcoming and friendly and the room was spacious, clean and well-stocked with everything you need for a short stay.

The only downside, and this is expected in such an old building, was that the walls and floors are very thin so you can hear a lot of noise coming from outside and the bar itself.

Room was smart and clean, had everything we needed for an overnight stay. En-suite shower room was very clean and modern, excellent. Breakfast was tasty and had plenty of choice. Staff helpful and friendly.

Perfect location for an early departure on the Shuttle. Lovely old building, nice outdoor area, very spacious room, comfortable bed, terrific shower. The staff were also very pleasant.

Should have a flat sheet and blanket option left in the wardrobe Didn’t like the fact that the reception wasn’t manned so not very welcoming and didn’t feel that secure in the property as the front door was left wide open until late at night, not appropriate if reception is not manned

La camera era spaziosa con un bagno generoso e vasca ad angolo. Possibilità di parcheggiare dentro la struttura che comprende anche un ristorante, da poter usufruire anche come beer garden.

Struttura un po' vetusta con moquette praticamente dappertutto. La vasca aveva la tenda e il lavandino è ancora con i due rubinetti con acqua fredda e calda.

Per noi era perfetto non facciamo sempre la colazione perché partiamo troppo presto ma nelle occasioni che abbiamo fatto era buonissima e a noi piace tanto le offerte di te caffè e cioccolata che c’è in camera

There was a problem with the plumbing. No water in the evening in our room (including other rooms) emergency plumber was called and water was restored by the morning.

Nous nous sommes arrêté à cet hôtel avant de reprendre le ferry. La chambre était spacieuse et confortable, le personnel très serviable. Le petit déjeuner est complet, avec différents choix selon les appétits.

Nous savions en arrivant qu'il n'y avait pas d'air climatisé. Par contre, nous ne savions pas qu'en laissant les fenêtres ouvertes la nuit, il y aurait du bruit : l'hôtel dispose d'un restaurant qui ferme à 22h, mais les gens sont restés à parler et rire en terrasse jusqu'au moins 23h. Un petit bémol, le reste de la nuit s'étant déroulé sans accroc.

Breakfast service was very slow and should be improved, had to make them aware I was there and waiting after about 15 mins. It was not busy we were the first down to breakfast.

L’emplacement est très bien pour visiter le Kent, tout est à moins d’une heure de voiture. Le parking est grand mais il peut être un peu difficile de se garer le soir s’il y a du monde dans la partie restaurant. Le personnel est très aimable, la chambre est grande et propre. L’hôtel a du charme. Les petits-déjeuners (buffet + carte) sont très copieux et bon. Choix entre continental et complet britannique. Le restaurant le soir est bon sans plus.

Je n’ai pas mis la note maximale car pendant notre séjour (4 jours), il y avait un problème de pression d’eau, à certains moments, en particulier au moment de prendre sa douche, l’eau ne coulait presque pas, voire pas du tout. Cela aurait dû être résolu au deuxième jour mais ça n’a pas été le cas. On attend un geste commercial de la direction. Le premier jour également la chambre n’a pas été faite bien que nous n’avions pas mis le panneau (on était un dimanche, est-ce qu’il n’y pas pas de ménage le dimanche ?). Le lendemain elle a été faite mais la porte de la chambre n’a pas été verrouillée, n’importe qui aurait pu rentrer.

The staff worked hard to make our stay enjoyable under trying circumstances. NOTE: No AC (of which we were advised when making our reservation) although it wasn’t needed the night we stayed. They provide fans.

The property is tired & in need of a refresh. We were w/out hot water for several hours; the upstairs rooms were without any water during the same time. The entrance to the our building was also the service entrance for deliveries & picking up the trash. My lunch & dinner were a disappointment. The soup (carrot & coriander) was tasteless & the fish & chips not appetizing.

Good location for the shuttle. Reception staff were welcoming and the food was good.

Very loud music from the pub below until 11pm. Not nice after a long drive. Noise is an issue in general. You can hear other guests coming in and out. No water in the sink at night and very hot in the room without air con.

Cracking little hotel for a one night stay.

At dinner time they'd ran out of a lot of what was on the menu but there was a Wetherspoon's nearby so we survived lol.

Hotel room comfortable, quiet and nice size.

The water stopped working and had to wait 30 mins to have a shower. This affected timings for a birthday family breakfast at my parents. With what I paid for this hotel would have expected better facilities than this

The bedroom room was boiling hot The breakfast was chaos with Just one staff member on duty and despite there being a hot buffet it was practically empty and we had to ask for everything from food, plates, glasses, cutlery, milk etc

Vor Anreise wurde ich darüber in Kenntnis gesetzt, dass es ein altes Hotel ist. Und dass es keine Airconditioning gäbe, nur einen Ventilator. Dies habe ich als sehr angenehm empfunden. Das Bett war bequem.

Es war zu laut. Die Musik sollte um 23 Uhr beendet werden. Allerdings gab es unter meinem Zimmer zusätzlich wohl einen Konferenzraum. Jedenfalls war die stimmliche Geräuschkulisse für mich zu laut. Leider war der angekündigte Ventilator kein extra Ventilator im Zimmer, sondern die Ventilation für das Badezimmer. Sodass dies praktisch keinen Effekt auf die Reduzierung der Hitze hatte. Das Hotel hat einen großen Parkplatz, aber es war sehr viel los (Anfang August), sodass ich nur mit Glück einen Parkplatz nach längerem Warten bekommen habe. Es wäre schön, wenn für Hotelgäste Parkplätze frei gehalten würden.

What a lovely place to stay. . Near motorway, large car park as webhad a trailer in our travels. The staff were absolutely lovely, helpful and friendly which means alot after a long drive. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has a restaurant and we enjoyed a lovely meal and a couple of drink. The staff were so nice. Thank you and we will be back

The evening meal was not good. Because of the location we were restricted in the choice of somewhere to eat. The restaurant had a restricted menu - several dishes were not availalbe. The pasta dish with vegetables I had was very poor - claggy cold pasta. I just picked out the vegetables!

Lovely intimate pub location. Staff were great, food was excellent. Rooms were well furnished and clean. Large car park. Good location for access to the Channel Tunnel, just 15-20 mins away. I would definitely use this place again.

The warm welcome from reception. The radio playing softly and bedside lights on for my arrival. The excellent breakfast and cheerful courteous staff. The characterful hotel itself. Plenty of free parking.

Pretty much nothing to comment on. They had fun out of fish for the evening meal which was disappointing.

Het hotel is goed bereikbaar en heeft een mooi terras. Heerlijk vertoeven daar. De kamer was goed uitgerust en tip top in orde. Ontbijt was prima. Vriendeljjk en attent personeel

We waren er tijdens de hittegolf, 30+ graden celsius. Geen airco, alleen een ventilator. Omdat het raam alleen op een kier kan, tocht het ook niet door. Het was 's-nachts dus bloedheet in de kamer.
