Schöne, geräumige Zimmer! Sauber und komfortabel. Zimmerservice war auch gut, aber das Essen war oft kalt und daher nicht so lecker. Es dauerte auch ziemlich lange oder Dinge wurden vergessen. Kann man aber darüber hinweg schauen, denke es ist das beste Hotel in Medan :)

If you arrive on foot, there isn’t a proper entrance—you have to go around the building. After it rains, there are also unavoidable puddles of rainwater when you leave on foot. The room itself was clean and nicely prepared. However, you do notice some unrepaired damage, such as bent vents and missing screw covers. The electric kettle looked very old.

Sehr nettes Personal, helfen bei vielen Themen und beraten gerne auch wenn man etwas außerhalb muss, arrangieren die alles für einen und informieren sehr gut. Ist sehr zentral, Riesen Mall neben dran und auch viele Restaurants. Sehr sauber auch das Personal wo die Zimmer reinigt sehr zuverlässig.

Ein weiterer großer Minuspunkt war der Lärm durch die Baustelle direkt im Hotel. Besonders morgens und am späten Nachmittag bzw. frühen Abend wurde teilweise laut gehämmert und gearbeitet – also genau zu Zeiten, in denen man sich vielleicht im Zimmer aufhalten und etwas Ruhe haben möchte. Unter solchen Bedingungen fällt es schwer, sich wirklich zu erholen. Sehr ärgerlich war außerdem die Preisgestaltung. Am Ende wurde plötzlich von den ursprünglich in der App angezeigten Preisen abgewichen und mir mitgeteilt, dass die Preise für diese Tage inzwischen erhöht worden seien. Daraufhin erhielt ich einfach eine neue, höhere Rechnung. Ich habe den Betrag letztlich bezahlt, weil ich unter Zeitdruck stand und bereits zur nächsten Unterkunft weiterreisen musste. Trotzdem finde ich dieses Vorgehen alles andere als transparent und kundenfreundlich. Der Mitarbeiter, der offenbar für Küche bzw. Restaurant zuständig war, war teilweise sehr aufdringlich und versuchte mehrfach, einen dazu zu bewegen, das All-you-can-eat-Angebot zu bezahlen und dort zu essen. Die Auswahl war allerdings eher begrenzt. Andere Gerichte konnte man zwar bestellen, musste darauf jedoch entsprechend warten und zusätzlich bzw. teilweise mehr bezahlen. Insgesamt fühlte sich das eher wie Verkaufsdruck als wie guter Service an. Auch die Sicherheitskontrollen beim Betreten des Hotels waren auf Dauer ziemlich lästig. Jedes Mal musste man durch einen Kontrollbogen bzw. Metalldetektor gehen, persönliche Gegenstände in eine Box legen und durch den Scanner schicken. Selbst wenn man nur für wenige Minuten nach unten gegangen war, um beispielsweise eine Grab-Bestellung abzuholen, musste man anschließend wieder die komplette Kontrolle durchlaufen. Sicherheitsmaßnahmen sind grundsätzlich verständlich, aber die konsequente Durchführung bei jedem noch so kurzen Verlassen des Hotels war für mich im Alltag unnötig umständlich und störend.

The staff was kind and helpful, the breakfast was pretty good and the overall design of the hotel was nice.

The rooms are spacious but feel a bit old. For the price i would expect it to be a bit nicer. There are newer hotels with nicer rooms for about half the price. It's small details like maintenance in the bathroom or the tv not having streaming. The room service menu seemed not that nice and quite expensive. It's not a bad hotel, it's just that it's about double the price of some other hotels, but not double the luxury of those hotels. Also why do i have to walk through a metal detector and send my bags through a scanner everytime I enter the hotel if you're not even gonna bother to check when it goes off.

Das Personal ist besonders freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind groß und sauber und man genießt eine tolle Aussicht. Wir waren außerdem im Steak Restaurant des Hotels essen und waren begeistert. Toller Service und sehr leckeres Essen!

Eten was niet lekker in het Café. Ook kwamen alle gerechten tegelijk (vooraf en hoofd).

Excellent room with comfortable beds and luxurious bathroom. The windows are thin though and you can hear street noise during the night.

The king hotel room was spacious with an amazing view of the city. The staff were responsive to requests and very helpful overall. The spa in the health and wellness suite is a must do! There’s a shopping centre conveniently located across the road. If you fancy a walk, I recommend a walk through Merdeka open space to Seng Hap (special treats, gifts and food court) and the historic Tip Top restaurant for Indonesian/Dutch food and desserts.

Arrival was unwelcoming. I was greeted by security checks then struggled with my heavy bags from the car to the reception area. 5* service would be a welcome from a porter who collects your bags from the car and puts them through the security scanner and onto a trolley to be taken to your room. Some 5* hotels even greet you with a drink and a hot/cold towel. The cost of food and drink is outrageous. E.g. A small beer which costs Rp35000 in Tip Top restaurant costs Rp138000. Maybe why the hotel bar and restaurants were empty?

Excellent amenities, the food choice and quality was great, and the staff were really helpful. The bedroom was very large and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower was excellent.

Reception staff need to be a little more responsive to emails and messages, especially when travel plans change last minute and assistance is needed.

Das Hotel ist teilweise in Renovierung, man merkt das es 18 Jahre alt ist.

角部屋からの見晴らしがとてもよかった。ジム、プール、サウナがとても使いやすかった。ベッドのクオリティーがとても良い感じで、ぐっすり寝ることができた。

お風呂のお湯がもう少し熱く調整できるとなおよい。朝食に少し日本食があると嬉しい。

Für ein internationales Hotel gab es nur nationales. Frühstück kein Western Frühstück für ein Fünfsternehotel. Sollte das nicht so sein. Zudem hohe Sicherheit Kontrollen, wo es sehr nervig und unsinnig sind. Die Türe kurz aufmachen bevor man bei der Sicherheit Schranke rein fährt sin frei als ob man in 10 Sekunden was sieht, was im Auto ist. Das Personal denkt, dass die Gäste dumm sind und nicht wissen wie Aufzüge oder die Türen aufgehen, obwohl in Europa das selbstverständlich ist. Die Wasserhähne im Bad im Zimmer waren tief rot mit Algen besetzt für ein Fünfsternehotel nicht tragbar. Fugen im Bad waren verschimmelt. Fernseher im Zimmer funktioniert nicht. Der Poolbereich war sehr schmutzig ebenso das Wasser. Keine Erfrischungsgetränke zum selber Zapfen im Lobbybereich, was in dieser Stern Kategorie normalerweise normal sein sollte. Hätte ich diese Buchung nicht so günstig bekommen und die Hälfte mehr bezahlt ist das Hotel kein Gut Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Absolut nur wenn man 90 € die Nacht bezahlt geht es. Das Hotel ist wie ein drei Sterne Hotel in Deutschland.

The staff are amazing, they gave me free late check out and it’s really helpful so I don’t need to rush after my morning meetings.

I think need to upgrade their TV to smart one, for 5 stars hotels kinda disappointed need to use my own laptop and connect it to TV for just watch Netflix. Even though they lend me HDMI cable, but still it’s kinda outdated tho.

I recently stayed at JW Marriott Medan and had a truly wonderful experience from arrival until departure. The service throughout the hotel was excellent, and every staff member I met was friendly, warm, and always willing to help. The food was amazing with so many delicious options to choose from, making every meal enjoyable during my stay. I would also like to give special appreciation to Puspa at the reception for being extremely helpful, professional, and welcoming throughout my stay. She made the check-in experience smooth and pleasant. Special thanks as well to Feri at Marriott Café, who genuinely took great care of me and made me feel comfortable and valued as a guest. Thank you to the entire team for the outstanding hospitality. I will definitely come back again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Medan.

After 3 weeks backpacking around this was a welcome stay. Unfortunately we arrived late so didn't get to use full facilities. We had some issues with room service but after going to reception it was sorted. Breakfast was fantastic staff helpful

Requested bag pick up at a certain time which didnt happen so struggled taking bags back down. Not a major issue but paying premium expect premium service.

I just love going to JW Marriott in Medan. The people are excellent. The service is excellent. The rooms are very good for Indonesia. I have stayed at the hotel multiple times, and each time I find the experience to be fantastic.

Occasionally I find that the water in the shower lacks pressure. It depends on what room / level of floor you are on. But this is a minor issue !

One of the most memorable staycations I’ve had in Medan is undoubtedly at JW Marriott Medan. Having stayed here several times, I recently returned and chose the Executive Deluxe Room, as I was in need of a well-deserved break after more than two weeks of traveling abroad. The room was spacious and newly renovated, offering a clean, modern, and refreshed ambiance. What stood out most was the stunning city view of Medan, which could be enjoyed not only from the bedroom but also from the bathroom, where the bathtub overlooks the skyline—an especially relaxing touch. As always, I was genuinely impressed by the overall quality of service, as well as the facilities and amenities provided. From the swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna to the fitness centre, restaurant, and lounge, everything I needed for a comfortable and rejuvenating stay was readily available. The hospitality remains consistently warm, making every return feel welcoming. The location is also highly convenient, strategically situated near key areas in Medan and within walking distance of popular malls and iconic landmarks. Overall, my stay provided the perfect opportunity to rest, recharge, and reset, and I look forward to returning again.

The carpet & the aircon needed thorough deep cleaning. The noise from the traffic was very bad at noon got time.

We had a wonderful stay and were truly impressed by the top-notch service from Ali and Danny at customer service, as well as Maggie and Valencia at reception. They went above and beyond to accommodate our various requests with efficiency and warmth. All the staff were consistently welcoming, polite, and attentive throughout our stay. We especially appreciated how minor repairs were handled promptly, with clear updates via WhatsApp once completed—such a thoughtful touch that made everything seamless. The location is also a huge plus—right in the heart of downtown and directly opposite DeliPark Mall, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. A big thank you to the team for making our stay so comfortable. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Medan!

The lack of Tamil language channels to meet the demand of the Tamil diaspora in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Remember, that Medan has a sizeable Tamil population also. Many Tamils from the regions visit Medan. Please, look into this abd also include Netflix and Youtube.

Too expensive

Stayed at JW Marriot Medan for 2 nights this week. Have always stayed here whenever I come here for business in Medan. Quick thoughts : 1) No 2 complimentary laundry is a bummer, all my other stays in other JW Marriot has this privilege 2) I asked for oxtail soup at the lounge and initially, was told it was not complimentary, but the manager was nice enough to make an exception for me. 3) Lounge space is big, but will be nice if more food choices were available 4) Got a welcome drink when I arrived but no farewell drink when I left (while I was waiting for transport to head to airport); probably will be nice to have that as well. 5) Breakfast at restaurant was alright but some covers (that covered the food) were really hot. Will be good to look at that; perhaps wrapping the top with a cover or something.

Very spacious room, very helpful staffs with a smile on their face all the time. One should try sauna and jacuzzi.

Beste hotel in Medan, schoon, mooi, luxe en geweldige service!! De executive lounge voor een borrel en een hapje. (Je kan noemen met lounge acces) Mijn man moest werken in de nacht en het personeel ging above and beyond on dat mogelijk te maken. Uitstekende service!! Ook heel fijn dat er recht tegenover het hotel een grote mall zit.

Alles was uitstekend. Maar als ik dan toch 1 minpuntje moet benoemen is het dat ze mensen in hun pyjama toelaten bij het ontbijt buffet. Vind ik persoonlijk niet zo fris en een beetje raar bij een 5 sterren hotel. Maar dat is ook alles. Verder was het geweldig.

Public areas were too warm, bathtub didn't drain, walking outside nearly impossible with broken or non-existent sidewalks and stinking drainage ditches.

Eigentlich war alles top, Leute supernett und engagiert, ein Fitnessstudio, das den Namen auch verdient, ebenso Pool und Spa, Mega Frühstück. Für den Preis 1A.
