If gluten free food was on separate menu for breakfast like it is for evening meal

It was a lovely hotel the staff were all very polite & helpful.

There was an old receipt on the floor and other bits from previous guests. Cold water on the shower did not work & there was no water coming from the hot water tap in the sink was very disappointing considering how much we paid .

Room and breakfast is perfect, located in the town city and has transport connected to everywhere

Lovely hotel, excellent food and caring hardworking staff. My elderly Dad stayed for 5 nights and has started with a few health issues. The staff were caring and understanding. Big thank you to the lovely South African lady (sorry I didn’t get your name) who went above and beyond.

The breakfast had lots of variety and the hot food was cooked to perfection.The staff were polite and helpful. The check out time was good as you had chance to look around the town before you left.

Parking was a bit convoluted. Full dog friendly costs are not obvious on booking and pricy at £25 per dog per night.

Room was beautiful, decor, excellent, wallpaper intriguing. Breakfast was excellent, great service and very pleasant staff. Food on all 3 days was excellent - different in each location we selected and all great in their own way.

We regularly go away for a weekend and 1 of us always spends a few hours on Friday evenings gaming online, This was not possible at Cameron House, as you have set up your TV to ensure nobody can access the internet. We were very disappointed that out of many venues we have stayed in, yours is the only one we have met with this problem. Staff were pleasant and understanding but could not help. On at least one morning, pastries were not fresh that morning. There was a delay when we asked for salt at the breakfast table and we were surprised that A: there was no salt on the table and B: it was apparently so hard to find us any when we asked...!

A £25 charge for one night for a dog is excessive and had nothing to show for it. We had stayed in two other hotels in the lakes on this trip one with no extra charge and one charged £10. The £10 charge included a dog bowl, water bowl, treats, a toy and poo bags…. I fully understand a small surcharge for a dog but this felt a bit unnecessary.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. My sister has mobility issues and the staff allowed her to park her mobility scooter inside the hotel and made sure her room was near the lift. My sister and I had booked single rooms, which are often inconveniently placed and rather substandard. However the rooms at the Skiddaw were ideally situated and extremely well appointed. We had comfortable large beds and the rooms were beautifully clean and attractive. I was able to park overnight in the hotel car park which was easy to access, and the hotel is situated right in the middle of town so we could access all the facilities. It was a very pleasant stay.

Excellent location right in the centre of Keswick, though the square can be a bit noisy at night. Dinner and breakfast were very good. The room was lovely and very comfortable.

Central and clean. Room that we were in was quite small f on r a double. Bed wasn’t amazingly comfy. We were at back of hotel so was quiet. Our next door neighbour in the family room was very noisy at 1.58am and child running in corridor. Not hotels fault at all but was annoying at the time as woke us up.

Excellent location for us as we are over 70. Beautiful room and facilities. Staff were both helpful and professional .Breakfast was wonderful . Really enjoyed our short stay.

A long way to get to our room as we arw older but hotel did not know thst when we booked. My own fault. Car parking is limited .

The staff were excellent - really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also reasonable. The central town location was handy and wasn't too noisy between 10pm-7am.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here, however, as it was expensive and the hotel itself isn't up to scratch and is a bit dated. The bed was exceptionally soft and uncomfortable - not what you need after a long day's walk. Despite the main downstairs area of the hotel having aircon, the rooms didnt and they were unbearably hot (even at night with all the windows open when it was around 10-15 degrees outside). They allow dogs, so if you're unlucky like we were, you could be woken up by barking in the early hours. Breakfast isn't served until 7.30am, so not ideal if you want an early start for a walk. Lastly, be warned - the parking is not free (£7-12 per day), and you're also not guaranteed a spot! We had to park on the other side of town at one point because there were no spaces left.

Had breakfast in the conservatory as we had brought our dog along for the trip. Enjoyed watching the world pass by as we enjoyed our breakfast in peace and quiet whereas the restaurant area reserved for guests without hounds was much busier. Great location.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay here. From the moment we were welcomed by Alandi at reception, we felt right at home. She was exceptional throughout our stay and couldn't do enough to help us. All of the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The hotel exceeded our expectations and was excellent value for money. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice from the hot menu as well as an extensive selection of continental options. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended and we will not book anywhere else within Keswick now!

The location is in the heart of Keswick and central to all the restaurants and bars. The hotel is well furnished and the staff were helpful and pleasant the place is spotless

The rooms were very small and although it is well furnished there was too much furniture for the size of the room. Also due to the heatwave was extremely hot as no air conditioning so had to have the window open . Need to consider with climate change adding this to rooms

Parking was not included and was in a public car park. Room decor was very tired. Room was very small and looked out onto a fire escape. No bedside charger or socket. No air con.

There was no air conditioning in the room, which was terrible given the hot weather—especially at night. We were given a fan, but it was poor consolation.

The rooms were lovely. They were spacious and very clean. The location was perfect with the high street just on the door.

I would stay again for the location and amenities. However, I think it was overpriced. For the amount we paid for one night, I would expect much better service. The staff weren’t rude but they weren’t polite. When checking in, we weren’t told any information about breakfast and nobody even said ‘enjoy your stay’. Similarly, upon checking out, we were told ‘all done’ and that was it. Nobody asked if we had enjoyed our stay. Equally, only after having breakfast did we note that we had an allowance for breakfast that was higher than the cost of two breakfasts. None of the staff, after clearing our plates, asked if we wanted anything else or even asked how our breakfast was. The breakfast itself was also sub-par. It all tasted very shop bought. Again, for the amount we paid, I would have expected better. Overall, for the amount we paid, I would have expected a much better experience. I was celebrating my birthday and wouldn’t choose to stay here for a celebration in the future.

The room we had was a bit of a trek from reception… in a heatwave! Air con needed in the rooms as they were VERY hot but it was a heatwave so not really the hotels fault!

Not one fire warning sign on the entire length of the floor our room was located on I.e. no running green man signs, no emergency exit signs, or evacuation direction signs, no signs to say if the corridor doors were fire doors, and if they were, they were frequently propped open. This surely is a breach of Health & Safety regulations. Floorboards in corridor were very creaky.

The hotel is decorated lovely. It had a nice feeling to it, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, I had a great night's sleep. The hotel accommodated for athletes who were up at 4:30am for a local triathlon with access to some breakfast. I would definitely use the hotel again in the future.
