Great location and friendly staff
Room up very steep stairs
Most confortable bed we had in UK! Super location, kind crew, clean. All you expect from a hotel :)

Great location. Friendly staff

Excellent quality, very tasty. Location was perfect, wife disabled so was on the main street.
We were on the top floor so my wife, who's disabled had trouble with the stairs.
• Small and cozy. • Clean. • Equipped with shampoo and shower gel. • The TV has decent sound quality, just like at home. • Traditional English style, yet modern with well-maintained furnishings.
Nothing. The entire team always strove to be great. :)
The property itself was beautiful and well maintained. A place full of character!
Lovely accommodation, nice food and drinks. Great staff
The hotel was central in the middle of everything and easy to walk to lake. Breakfast was very good, and so were restaurant staff . Room was small, it was clean but not spotless if you know what i mean. Reception staff polite but not friendly. However the problem was with the heat - we stayed in room 12, and it was stifling - we managed to open the window but even then it was too hot to sleep. We stayed in September when it was not hotter than 15 degrees outside so no idea where this heat came from!
The room was small and very hot - no idea where the heat came from
Location for town and local facilities excellent.

Breakfast was fab!
Rooms were comfortable but decor a little dated. Very clean.
Good location, nice staff but needed more people on a breakfast time, nice stay.
Would have been nice to be offered a doggy breakfast for the pooch since we were being charged for him.
Breakfast was lovely, good choice
Breakfast was excellent. Friendly helpful staff.
Room was not ready at 3pm Had to wait forc30 mins
Great location, lovely room, very comfortable , excellent food
Shower was a bit poor, worked alright, but could be a lot better
Great location, the breakfast was lovely and staff were very attentive!
Unfortunately our shower did not work very well (no water pressure and it was either steaming hot or ice cold). Important to note though, was that we did not call down to get it fixed and would have if we had more time so I wouldn’t discredit them too much for this!
Beautiful room, friendly service, fabulous meal
All food we had was excellent, breakfast and have evening meal there twice during the stay Staff very friendly and helpful
I thought the charge for taking a fog was far too high, we stayed for 4 nights and were charged £20 each night, so £80 in total I believe we should only have had one charge regardless of length of stay Our room would only have to be extra cleaned for the dog once on departure, bar etc was dog friendly and had plenty of dogs in so could not have been a charge for that
Great central location Lovely clean rooms The dog bed, bowls and towels much appreciated especially after a rainy day
Reception unmanned so took a while to get a key Very tricky stairs up to room 8 when carrying a suitcase and a dog lead in your hand! Room was small but gorgeous
Staff was very helpful all friendly. the Lady who served Breakfast was helpful and pleasant very pleased with my stay.
I was very happy with my stay
Room very c0mf0rtable Double shower Bathroom spacious Breakfast ecellent
Check in and staff very good. Room was a superior upgrade? No air con and bathroom window had a busted stay. But the Breakfast was superbly presented and the food was plenty & very tasty. I had the Haddock & Poached eggs.
Nothing, but the room was very warm.
Everything about this hotel was perfect we couldn't have chosen a better place
Very comfortable food was excellent
Breakfast was outstanding, bed was really comfortable pillows were comfortable, the little touches in the room were lovely

Comfortable bed, modern, well equipped shower room, excellent breakfast and helpful staff. Great central location in Kendal.
Pub like atmosphere with nowhere quiet to spread a map out. Sticky tables in restaurant (being fixed after the wrong varnish was used).
Staff were friendly. Food was adequate. Location very good.
Room was smaller than expected and quite basic. Parking was too far away for people with disabilities having to carry cases etc.
Surprised me how nice the room was tbh. Good location in the town centre near all the pubs and bars.
Bathroom was a little basic and had an electric shower.
The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. Nicely decorated.
The noise was horrendous. Granted the hotel is on a very busy square in the centre. The noise was right into the early hours then you had market traders setting up at 5am banging poles around and dragging cages up the square. It was not a restful relaxing place to stay. I had visited this place a few years ago and it was a pretty nice pub. Now it’s very tired and dirty looking. I didn’t find the bar and lounge area a nice place to be in. The bar staff and reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was right up the top and we had lots of bags to go up a very narrow windy staircase no lift
Lovely room, well thought out. Food was excellent, staff very friendly and attentive.
There was nothing I didn’t like
very good breakfast cooked the way you ask them to wel done plenty variety
every thing spot on
Great location, nice roomd
No complaints at all
Location, value and breakfast
No air conditioning. Room very hot.
Location, food and the staff
No mini fridge, shower was faulty and no pressure
Central, conveniently located in city center. Staff all friendly. Nice breakfast choices.
Rooms small but bed fine. Enough air with windows full open and small fan in room as weather during our stay not particularly warm. I doubt it would be tolerable in the heat. Pub area more run Dow than photos look
Room clean, and well appointed Bed comfortable
Our room was at the back of the hotel, which backed onto the sports bar, which was noisy. We had to sleep with the window shut in the middle of a heatwave, but at least they provided a fan
Friendly staff, excellent central location.
high street was noisy with commercial traffic early in the morning. Ask for a room. at the back of the hotel.
Location
Location and staff friendliness.
Parking costs were quite expensive.
Great location, great service, good all round
narrow staircases not so good for people with walking disability’s ,ie pensioners
Excellent hotel. Very clean. Food great and plenty of it. Staff very friendly. Hotel in the Main street so very central. On fault quilt far too warm for the weather we had 😅. Would definitely return.
Not a thing.
A Hearty Breakfast with plenty of options… central location 10 minutes walking from Derwent lake which was a Bonus, plus Hope Park full of floral displays…central car park behind Hotel £12 for 24 hours…Room decor lovely and bed and pillows exceptionally comfortable…
Only a little niggle blinds to let light in would be helpful as curtains are heavy making room dark, the room faces guests drinking in garden so just for privacy when relaxing would be good…
I loved the breakfast experience. The room was super clean and comfortable and the facilities, such as coffee and biscuits, was a pleasant surprise. The location was incredibly convenient and pretty given it is in the centre of Keswick and a short walk to the supermarket and bus station.
location.
Location, great breakfast and comfy room
Location
I got locked in the shower. My husband has to rescue me. I couldn’t open the door from the inside of the shower. (Room 7)
Lovely food, welcoming helpful staff & room had everything you would need. Would go again.
The location was superb parking at the back with a charge
Just a bit disappointed with room was positioned at the back room 11 could hear a noisy fan on a restaurant which we were over windows had to be opened because of the hot weather so I suppose in cooler Months the window would be closed so wouldn’t be as noisy .
Great staff, always helpful. Food in restaurant was excellent

The location
There was nothing to dislike
The staff were very helpful. The room was beautiful and the food was really good.
We had a radiator in the ensure which was set to extremely hot in the heatwave but we me tinned it to reception and it was sorted immediately.
Really cute and cosy little hotel in the middle of Keswick town. Room and bedding were spotless, large bathroom and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was the best we’ve had - superb menu choice for hot options and everything we needed in the cold buffet. Huge portions too! We ate dinner in the hotel both nights and the food was fabulous, excellent menu, piping hot and really generous portions. Had a great stay, the staff were friendly and made us and the dog so welcome
Nothing to dislike at all!
Very comfortable. Staff friendly. Great breakfast 👍
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and good choice available.
Room was very small but bathroom was OK.
Located in the centre of Keswick. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, good choice.
Low lighting level in bedroom but bathroom lighting good. Need a better mirror on the table the room for hair dryer use due to position of socket and cable length.
Location excellent. Friendly staff and great customer service, Agnes on reception is really helpful. Great breakfast, Debbie is fabulous 👌
Nothing!!
Fantic location and the staff provided a great service.
On a hot day the roon was very warm.
Location is fantastic. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and polite. The room was comfortable and clean (as always, we have used the hotel on several occasions)

Breakfast lovely.

Great location lovely clean rooms
More powerful shower but we did really enjoy our stay
The staff were very helpful and friendly, conscience and nothing was too much trouble
The room was small and stuffy even though the window was open all the time. The fire alarm went off at 10 pm. I tried to call reception 3 times , no one answered and did not call me back. The food was expensive, in my opinion very overpriced.
The staff were amazing. We left a set of keys and the staff posted them back to us straight away
Lovely bedroom and bar downstairs
Location and food
Room very small
Staff were all very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and the food was nice.
The rooms were quite small so it got quite hot in the night time.
Breakfast great.. dog friendly
Excellent .
Loved everything, whole team was great! The room itself very traditional and nice, loved the breakfast, the location,it was a lovely stay.
I loved everything.

Beautiful room, decor, very dog friendly. Great breakfast and amazing location close to everything.
I was quite noisy during the early morning with goods being unloaded outside each night. Rolling barrels off and on.
Great value spacious room fab location
Nothing
Nothing exceptional breakfast just ok for price paid
Bathroom in need of replacing. Shower poor and shabby windows badly in need of double glazing. For what we paid for a supposedly superior double room pretty small and down at heel.
The room and bed were great
I had booked a table for dinner each night of my stay, the first nights dinner there were problems, my server didn't engage with she seemed to be " going through the motions " my meal was the problem, I ordered soup and it took 25 minutes to bring the soup, bearing in mind that it wasn't busy there were only two other tables and one was nearly finished as I came into the restaurant. The next issue was with the main course, I ordered the chicken Kiev special at £16 and it wasn't edible I took one bite then had to leave the rest, it was rock hard and very overcooked and dry I struggled to cut it, inside there was absolutely no butter or any detectable garlic (it's supposed to be chicken Kiev remember!) just a suggestion of some parsley. There was hardly any mashed potato to speak of and the veg, I like my veg to have a slight bite to them, but, the veg was basically raw. The creamy mustard sauce had no detectable mustard either. For a bill that came to £25 I expected a lot better, so as a result of that I cancelled my remaining table bookings for dinner and ate elsewhere, my other issue was the next day the person that served me the night before, I noticed some unsafe and bad hygiene practices, she petted a customer's dog and gave it a treat from her hand twice without then going to wash her hands and she's busy serving food and drinks to unsuspecting customers! I feel that this issue really must be raised in the interest of customer health and safety.
