Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The room was a good size and very comfortable. Slept really well, nice big bathroom. Loved the pool and the steam room. Breakfast was great, plenty of options. Staff were really helpful and friendly.
Nothing, it was all good
Breakfast was good, although could be hotter, and the fruit selection could be better.
Been able to chose your own table.
Everything was excellent
The parking in Llandudno is a problem Pre-booked the station car park Excellant
It’s a beautiful Hotel the staff were all vey nice and friendly could not fault our stay would go back soon.
The swimming pool sauna and steam room are grate really enjoyed our stay.
Location
No satellite television. Faulty bathroom light fitting. Towels only changed once.
Breakfast was good. Location was very good.
Nothing
Lovely breakfast Great location
The location is excellent. Breakfast on the terrace is lovely The staff are so helpful and accommodating. We stayed here to get married and just before the walk to the registry office the heavens opened despite favourable weather reports. The umbrellas were in the car and a walk away. The fabulous receptionist tried to ring taxi’s to no avail and lent us her own umbrella to try a protect the hair! Life saver! All other staff were so helpful and couldn’t fault them.
Dated property, but maybe part of the charm?
Food was excellent & so were the staff who served us
Lumpy mattress & pillows that were lumpy & went flat quickly. Didn't sleep well as a result.
Perfect location. Good choices at breakfast. Lovely staff. Good sized room. Ramp at the entrance, 2 lifts, terrace for tea
Nothing
Location very good. Spotlessly clean
Reception staff were particularly unpleasant. Although questions were answered they made you feel you were interrupting and inconvenient
Relaxed and comforyable short break with good food. Great to unwind and enjoy Llandudno, without hassle.
There is a service charge on everything including check out. Obviously, it is discressionary but I believe was off putting for some guests. I paid fee for all meals, but do you really need it at check out as well?
Brilliant
Nothing really
Old world charm. Pleasant staff nothing was too much trouble. Made it a relaxing stay.
Nothing really.
I first selected the hotel as it was only 5 minutes walk from the station and on the sea front. I was able to leave my luggage until 3 o’clock check-in. The sea view room was comfortable, the lifts were essential as it was on the 5th floor. Breakfast was excellent in a spacious dining room. I had 1 evening meal in my 3 night stay and this met my expectations.
Every thing met my expectations.
The staff are always welcoming and helpful, especialy Yahna and Bernice The hotel caters for people with dairy and gluten intolerances. The evening entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights
no entertainment on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Superb hotel. Would stay again.
Breakfast was excellent, room good dinner good but a bit expensive.
Area by swimming pool was filthy, obviously a work area but should be behind closed doors not on view when walking to pool.
Location.
Restaurant food. Overpriced and not great.
Amazing breakfast, wonderful staff and the only hotel I would stay in Llandudno
Very relaxed atmosphere, homely and friendly. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. Nice sized clean bedroom.
Could not fault.
Location, staff and meals excellent
Staff very attentive decor & ambience lovely, a good 4 star hotel. Location superb, ditto sea view bedroom- well worth the price.
My mistake not requesting a walk in shower. In very warm weather like June/July then the no air conditioning would be a miss.
Great sized room, lovely breakfast definitely would stay again
Very friendly, attentive staff. The bedroom was clean and bed comfortable. The pool and spa facilities are very good.
Nothing
I liked the staff and how helpful and friendly they all were. The hotel is lovely and we will book here again in future.
It would be useful to have a safe in the room and possibly be able to put the heating on in the room.
Helpful good position generally 4☆
Nothing
everything
The location was perfect lovely view food was delicious
The bed was a bit hard for us and the entrance from the car park is a bit like going in a prison very grubby until you get to the next floor then it’s nice
Lovely old building
Nothing really, the room we were in the tv on the wall was some distance left of the bed and was square to the wall, Difficult to watch without being in front of it, could do with being on a hinged bracket, problem solved. Apart from that our room etc was superb
Great location, really good size room, excellent choice at breakfast, great hotel been about 4 times friendly staff.
Nothing
The breakfast buffet was excellent food was hot the selection was amazing waiting on staff were helpful friendly and smiley polite plenty of tea coffe
The room was clean spacious and had fantastic window looking over the sea bathroom was big nice shower plenty towels room service cleaned hoovered every day the thing we found the bed to be very hard lumpy and not comfy
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A wonderful stay at The Imperial We had a lovely stay at The Imperial in Llandudno. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful, which really made a difference to our stay. We were lucky enough to be seated by the window for breakfast on both mornings, with a lovely view — such a nice way to start the day. We also weren’t expecting to have a room with a balcony, so that was a fantastic surprise and made our stay feel even more special. It was just a shame the weather wasn’t on our side, as we would have loved to have made much more use of it! Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend The Imperial. The friendly staff, lovely views and unexpected balcony made our anniversary trip to Llandudno that little bit more memorable. ❤️
The robes could be bigger. It was nice they were available through. Nice touch!!
It was attractive
I prefer classical music to popular music in the dining room.
Having visited the Imperial previously I knew what to expect and again the hotel lived up to my expectations. My room had a sea view which was brilliant waking up to seeing the sea hearing the waves was idyllic, the seagulls were quite noisy too! The breakfast was as good as always, plenty of different food to choose from full English to yoghurt, pastries and fruit even omelettes were prepared upon request. The staff at the Imperial are great nothing is ever too much trouble for them; they always seem happy and accommodating. The evening entertainment was good there were two excellent musicians there during my stay, one played the piano the other the harp, very easy listening and complimented the excellent food in pleasant surroundings.
Since my wife passed away, I have visited the Imperial on my own twice this year, this time however I noticed when I asked to sit in the terrace part of the restaurant for breakfast or dinner I was not allowed to sit next to the panoramic windows, whilst I still had a view of the bay couples and families seem to have been given priority which did not occur on my earlier visit this year and I felt this was unfair. This is not a complaint but an observation, it will not stop me booking again but I thought it was worth noting.
Staff are friendly and helpful, they cater for people with food allergies, the hotel is in a prominent position on the promenade, there are lifts to all floors.
The breakfast, served on the terrace, was, as ever, really good. There is so much choice beautifully cooked.
Can't think of anything.
Breakfast lovely. Ideal location. Gym and swimming pool perfect. ALL staff really helpful and efficient.
Nothing
Excellent
I liked everything
Very clean. Welcoming staff. Restaurant staff very efficient and pleasant, especially Rhianna.
For a solo traveller a little costly when a couple can stay for the same price per night.
Whole stay
The parking is horrific y
Location and breakfasts
Tired in some areas and no parking
Lovely hotel & great location. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Pool area is a bit dated
Lovely clean hotel. Big rooms and even bigger bathroom. Really good evening meal. Great pool, sauna and steam room.
Could have been more choice of cereal, nuts, dried fruit for breakfast.
all OK apart from parking, not enough spaces for a hotel of this size
car parking availability
Hotel staff cleanliness all excellent. Food and entertainment poor in fact the one night we stayed in restaurant we complained to manager not up to standard at all did not eat there again. Only entertainment one night a harpist one night a pianist again we finished going out every evening. Room was very nice as was hotel but would not stay there again too expensive for what we received.
Starting to feel a bit tired. Swimming pool , great, sauna and jacuzzi good but didnt feel 'spa' clean. More council pool and facilities. Bedroom, lovely size but again not plush more used to be but a bit bumped . Chunks out of wall paper, stains on carpet. Food, some was fabulous but fish and chips... batter was terrible.
excellent breakfast, room and helpful staff . Location is very good on the esplanade close to town centre.
Some of the bar staff lacked the use of " hello" " how can i help you " and "thank you" a bit
Location and staff very good
The room which we got allocated was poor
Great Breakfast Buffet
Room had no Safe nor Fridge
Location of the hotel. Excellent room with balcony. Good 😊 good breakfast
The evening meal was expensive and poor service
Dinner was excellent. Breakfast.....I'm not to keen on serve yourself buffet style breakfasts, items run out and the eggs were poor.
Breakfast......see above
Loved my room. It had a small balcony which was very welcome in the heatwave! The hotel location was excellent, close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants.
Nothing!
Breakfast was lovely, and the evening meals were delicious,
The main problem was, that at night from about 10.30 pm onwards we could hear people walking around in the room above quite loudly and we could hear the toilet flushing and filling back up and the shower or bath being used, through part of the night or early in the morning, early being about 6.30 am
Hotel looks appealing from the outside. The location is really good and in walking distance of all attractions.
The pool area feels very closed in and stuffy. Breakfast was not great. Eggs and mushrooms were cold. Staff were nice but did not clear plates very quickly or refill the buffet with many serving trays being empty and staff had to be asked to put out more food.
Breakfast very good but no black pudding on offer😡
Property was close to town
Staff were rude, did not have room ready for check in. Didn’t bring correct breakfast requested even when paid extra for room service. Bed was uncomfortable and rock solid. Paid for a sea view and didn’t get what we paid for, instead we had a view of scaffolding. This stay was for our wedding day.
Food was very good
The property is tired. Asked for an accessible room and assumed there would be an accessible shower for my mum to use, however there was an only a shower in the bath which she would not have been able to access. Very disappointing that she couldn’t bathe properly.
We have stayed at the Imperial on several occasions and always look forward to our visit. From the warm welcome by reception staff to the comfortable rooms we know we will have an enjoyable time. Taking breakfast on the terrace with a view over the promenade is a real treat, and the range of choice on the menu is great. The waiters are first rate making sure everything is prepared cooked and correctly served.
A fridge in the bedroom would be great
Location
Shower valve was not working properly Breakfast was not good One coffee machine at breakfast was very slow, top prices, very poor facilities
Location
rooms dated very dirty windows full bird poo dusty old .mattress huge bed frame small dirty bed frame .very disappointed at 180 pounds for 1 night and that was with discount .also I might add that we was told no refund and no other rooms available !totally unacceptable suddenly rooms came available we unfortunately wanted to leave and had to return home. As we couldn't find a hotel as it was evening and most hotels booked up .we had traveled 3 hours to get there absolutely 💯 sad 😔
Room not ready for ages after I arrived. Bed was so hard, room so hot with no air con ..so opened the windows, outside noise was so loud I didn't sleep a wink. Food was ok...just ok. Overpriced as rooms so tired and dated. Necer again.
Bed and outside noise....booking in was a comedy show.
The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic! Especially if you're traveling by train because it's just a 2 minute walk from the station and it's just a stones throw away from the beach. Very easy access to the main town and the great Orme so 10/10 for location. The staff were so fabulous, they were welcoming, warm, professional and nothing was too much for them for our entire stay. They even kept our bags for us after checkout so we could collect them before our train departure at 3pm. They were all exceptional and a great asset to the hotel we were grateful for their help. The breakfast was lovely and very tasty, good options and fresh, seasoned food. The sausages were bursting with flavor and the eggs were a perfect sunny side. My partners favorite part was the hash browns and he confirmed they were the best he had eaten - he's a hard critic so that's a plus in my book. The bed was so comfortable we had a great sleep and the Bible in the bedside drawer was a beautiful touch.
The main and side bathroom lights would constantly flicker on and off, we only found out at 9pm when it was dark and we had to switch them on for the first time. When my partner informed the receptionist she was very apologetic and explained the maintenance man had already left so they couldn't do anything until tomorrow morning, we were due to checkout at 11am so that unfortunately didn't help our situation. Anybody with epilepsy or other light sensitivities would struggle to use the bathroom at night in this room and that was a big issue for me. When we arrived in our room for the first time after check-in our room was on the third floor and the window protector was broken on one of the windows so the window could be opened fully and when reported to reception they promptly sent someone to our room to fix it. The changing room facilities are only available for hotel spa members so the hotel guests have to change in their rooms and come down to the bottom floor to use the spa facilities. They do give you gowns and slippers in the hotel room but the slippers are as thin as cardboard and don't provide much in terms of grip on the slippery floor. I didn't like that they had changing rooms available in the spa room but they were locked for the hotel guests. The pool is nice but has multiple spots of rust bleeding so looks a slight bit dirty when you first go down the steps into the water. The hot tub had a strong smell of chlorine so we didn't use that unfortunately and it was something we were looking forward to using. We only had a swim in the pool so cannot comment on the sauna and steam room. A small thing to note, you have to walk around the pool single file when others are entering the pool area. It felt a bit cramped and there were no more than 8 people while we were there so it was a bit of an inconvenience when trying to leave the pool room.
Location great
No parking The hotel is starting to look outdated Our evening in the bar was ruined by a teenager singing loudly and playing the piano badly . We had to leave . We were suprised the hotel let a guest monoplise the piano
Quirky hotel, back in time, beautiful location. Friendly staff Beautiful breakfast
We sample the pool and recreation area, all as it should be, just felt it could be updated. Everything was great nothing to not like at this hotel. I'll be back.
Rooms are lovely spacious and perfectly cleaned Breakfast was good Staff on reception are excellent
Restaurant evening menu was underwhelming and expensive but possibly aimed at the older clientele
Location
Location is great. Reception staff are amenable.
Agnes in the restaurant had an awful argumentative personality, she seemed unable to respond adequately to a simple request for a cappuccino during the breakfast service without talking over me. The bedrooms and hallways are very tired in regard to decor. Breakfast selection is good quality but pretty basic if you don’t want a fry up, no pancakes, no avocado, no cold meats or cheeses.
Staff very friendly and helpful on reception and also in the dining room. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Breakfast has goodish choice
Evening meal and entertainment was not always top quality.
All of it everything was great
Could du with having a fresh menu each night
All clean. Staff friendly. We wanted to stay another night but no availability.
Mushrooms needed a little seasoning. The evening meals were quality very impressed!!!
Hotel was really nice. Staff where lovely, very friendly. Nothing was to much trouble. Special thanks to staff in restaurant. Breakfast had plenty of choice. Location was excellent for promenade, great orme tram, shops and bars.
Hotel needs a bit of TLC, paintwork could do with update.
Location and room size.
Breakfast was a bit unexciting, ingredients lacked a bit of quality.
The breakfast was plentiful and the food was good quality
Staff were very accommodating and friendly.
The decor was a little tired in places and the carpets need cleaning in the passages etc.
Staff very helpful and welcoming. I felt safe travelling alone and enjoyed my stay Food good
Very hot in sun facing room. Had a decent fan though . No other dislikes
Location
No entertainment if staying in hotel
Friendly, clean, well kept, more luxurious than average hotel.
Missed a soft lighting lamp in the room for putting on at nighttime.
A special stay for a 66 birthday, Free parking, great breakfast, great staff, Great big sea view room, Would have liked a fridge!
Très bon petit déjeuner
Chambre vieille et très limite en terme de propreté. 5 nuits avec les mêmes draps et serviettes de toilettes changées 2 fois.
The grand Victorian building was very elegant, with lots of intricate plasterwork. The foyer was very impressive. My room was a good size with plenty of lights and sockets. It had a very useful table with easy chairs. The bathroom was a good size, with a great shower and lovely toiletries. The hotel was in a great location on the seafront and near to shops and restaurants. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, served in a smart restaurant with great sea views. I enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi.
The sockets near the bed were used up by the lamps. It was quite expensive.
We ate twice in the restaurant for dinner and both were excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable too. As I was leaving, I needed to clean my car of seagull deposits and was helped by Steve (I think was his name) which was very kind and above and beyond - he washed the car for us!
Only improvement would have been if our rooms could have been together - we were each on a different floor. We did request this when booking a few months ago and asked again on arrival but were told it wasn't possible. As this is our one meet-up a year, it is always nice if this can be accommodated.
Lovely hotel central easy access. Staff pleasant and friendly
Nothing
Breakfast/ Helpful staff
Steam room was poor
Good
All of the staff were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable.
Nothing
The breakfast was amazing - and the night music made my birthday more special
Parking slots need to be increased. If I'm paying so much for the stay, I would like a private parking as well.
Very good hotel
We come regularly and love the breakfasts.
Clean, bright and luxury Piano player and Harp player on different evenings. Bar staff were young but helpful amd happy. Reception staff efficient , helpful and went out of their way for my requests.
Nothing
Excellent location with very friendly staff
Lovely traditional seaside hotel. Good location. Parking. Friendly helpful staff.
A little faded in places. Seaview room, but only from balcony.
Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and polite. The dining area was a nice big room and we could sit wherever we liked. The breakfast was a buffet style breakfast and there was everything you could ask for available. There was a nice variety of cooked food , bacon, egg, sausage, beans scrambled egg, tomatoes black pudding fried eggs mushrooms. You could also choose from a menu if you wanted something different but had to pay extra for his. The toasting machine was excellent and the bread was very nice. There was also a drinks machine which provided different types of coffees and hot chocolate. The dinner was also just as good. There were three menus to choose from so you could always choose something good for dinner. If you had any wine left over they would save it for you for next day. All in all we couldn't fault it.
The only fault we could find was the bar drinks. They didn't have any bitter. It was all mostly lager which I don't like. They did have Guinness but it wasn't very good. My suggestion for them would be is to have a small selection of bitters in cans to choose from, hence everyones happy. Other than that our stay at the imperial was great and won't hesitate to go back. Remember to take your swim wear the pool is excellent.
customer service room size clean lovely traditional
