The location is perfect

My room had some small maintenance issues, but nothing that was too big of a deal.

We loved the view of the room and the size. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

The bed is a little stiff and we could have used a microwave.

My stay was for July 31- August 4th at arrival I was advised cleaning is conducted every other day. After I returned from a wedding rehearsal and dinner on 8/2/26 I noticed missing items from my room. After thoroughly checking the entire room in which I know precisely where things were placed I knew they had been stolen. I immediately reported this to the front desk. I received a completely unprofessional passive aggressive voicemail in response from the cleaning manger Isabella. I contacted corporate who encouraged me to work directly with this locations management. After Forwarding this message to the booking manager Tucker and alerting him the items where stolen as well as Isabella’s response I was advised that 2 nights would be comped but no mention of reimbursement for the stolen items that I provided receipts for. After no progress I requested the GM’s information and was put in touch with Connor who advised on 8/20/26 that he would have a response to my report after I provided all the requested information in full detail on 8/17/26. After over a week of nothing Connor advised me on 8/31/26 that nothing else would be done. His findings stated the items were not turned into the list and found and nothing was found in the cleanings staffs lockers (note this investigation was done almost a month after the items were reported stolen) Furthermore the hotel advised they had multiple people in my as part of a training and reviewed cameras and locks and stated they saw nothing but Isabella had advised on the voicemail cleaning was done and I can confirm sheets were changed with the possibility that the person or people responsible could have possibly putting the stolen items away in sheets or whatever else before coming back into cameras view. I have been shut out on request for the GM’s superiors contact information and no compensation for my stolen items was offered.

The rooms that we got were very dirty, the carpets are very dirty. The floor had a big red/dark stain. The rooms had a strong odor of old carpet. We decided to not stay, we told the guy that was working there that we were not going to stay. We left. I didn’t take any photos.

I am still dumb-founded when I was checking out of the hotel and asked for a paper copy of my receipt, I was told by the front desk staff that because my booking was done by a 3rd party, the hotel can not give me a receipt. I insisted on the receipt so they sent me one with a zero balance for a two day stay. That was two days ago and I still have no idea how much the bill is for my stay. I have used 3rd party to book hotel rooms around the world for decades, and I have never encountered such episode that the booking agent became the business that I had to pay my bill. How in the world did that happen? As for my opinion of the hotel, the front desk staff’s attitude and hostile tone at the check out was bad because I used a 3rd party to book my room and not directly with the hotel. I will NEVER stay at that hotel again! Good riddance.

Great location and clean comfortable rooms though space was a bit tight. Easy walk to Pioneer Square and Powell’s.

Space was a bit tight. Price for onsite parking was exorbitant and the valet’s directions to a cheaper alternative sent me on a useless goose chase. Turned out there was a secure garage literally around the corner that saved us $25. Just keep going straight on the one way in front of the hotel and turn left the next chance you get and you’ll find a secure garage on the right.

The air was stagnant in the lobby, halls and elevator, like there is zero air flow and hot and stuffy and the a/c wasn't on in the room when we arrived (it was 90° outside) and the a/c only went down to 65 in the room and no fan/ air flow in the bathroom in our room

I was bitten up by bed bugs. There was evidentce of them on bedding and mattress cover. The manager did change my room. I was on edge after that. I was compensated a complimentary 1 day free stay.

The hotel is centrally located in the north downtown area, near the Pearl District. It is served by the north/south MAX lines. There is a food cart pod located one block away to sample the wonderful food cart culture of Portland. It is less than a 20 minute walk from Providence Park, home of the Portland Timbers and Thorns professional soccer teams.

The alarm clock in the room went off at 6am. Not ideal as I had not set the alarm. I just got back to sleep and the baby next door started crying.

The bathtub was so slippery without any non slip bathmat. I fell down and hurt my back on the first night of my stay. I informed the staff about it to get it cleaned and provide a non slip bathmat but it didn’t happen.

Towels and linens were dirty. Blood spots found on the comforter looked like the kind you see from dead bedbugs. The staff pretended as if this was out of the ordinary but two different rooms (one an upgrade) had the exact same cleanliness issues, including a dirty qtip on the counter and scuff marks on the sheets *after* the room was marked clean.

I recently stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Portland and was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. For a brand under the Marriott umbrella, the service and room quality fell far below basic expectations. Key issues during our stay: Unfulfilled Housekeeping (Zero Housekeeping) We were informed at check-in that rooms are cleaned every two days. However, across our entire 5-night stay, no cleaning was ever done. Even after calling the front desk directly to remind them, no one ever came to service the room. Room Quality & Cleanliness: The room was small and dusty, and the carpet was visibly dirty and unhygienic, a real issue when staying for 5 days. Lack of Basic Amenities: Aside from a coffee maker, zero complimentary water bottles or standard basic amenities were provided in the room. Unexpected Extra Fees: On top of the already high parking rates, we were hit with additional fees simply for having an oversized vehicle. Front Desk Service: The staff we interacted with were unwelcoming, unhelpful, and lacked basic customer service skills. Overall, between the poor hygiene standards, unkept promises on housekeeping, hidden extra charges, and unfriendly staff, this property falls way short. I would not recommend staying here until management addresses these operational and customer service flaws.

The location was exactly what I expected.

The first room smelled like a locker room. We were moved to more appropriate accommodation. During my shower the next morning the water completely turned off and restarted. The restaurant for some reason was under staffed my wife and I literally sat for thirty five minutes and still hadn’t received our meal. We search and found another venue.

Location is great. There are many places close to the hotel to have breakfast and coffee. Our stay in Portland Downtown was very cozy. The hotel is well located. Everything with a walking radius. The hotel room was very comfortable. And if you're not in the mood to go out, the next door restaurant has good options.

Clean and the staff are hospitable and helpful. They always were polite and friendly. They were apologetic about the wait for the room past check in time and gave us a box of snacks.

I didn’t know and it wasn’t stated anywhere that there is no housekeeping of the room while you stay? They had to be asked to provide the towels for 4 people…the room had only 3 sets. The fridge had to be replaced as the door wouldn’t close so it seems the room wasn’t checked pre check in?

House keeping not a daily thing, no change do to laundry (would be best to have a change machine), soaps in the showers were empty, valet parking is very expensive (park across the street $18.00 a day instead of $52)

Staff went above and beyond fixing a misunderstanding. The suite we got was perfect, large and luxurious in every way.

Room description was unclear, where I thought it was a separate bedroom, but was in fact all attached. The staff helped us through this very nicely.

The hotel was good and clean. The staff was friendly.

Parking, it cost $52 a day which I thought was a lot. The staff recommended a parking lot at is would cost $20 a night (city hall parking or something). The sign at that parking lot stated $20 or $24 a day, but when I checked out they charged me $52! I asked them why and the manager came up with this joke of a reason. Apparently, the $24 only apply if you parked before 5pm, after 5pm it is different rating and AND at 12 am, it counts as a whole new day! I parked there for 16 hours and ended up paying $52 to park outside the hotel. I told the hotel staff and he said that he didn't know...he recommended it. Also, the number of homeless people outside is unsettling. I think it is a Portland issue rather than a hotel issue.

The valet staff were unerringly friendly & cheerful. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. The little loveseat & ottoman in the corner of the room were cute & comfy. It was fine for one person needing a place to work away from the distractions of home. Oh, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent.

I wasn't given any instructions for accessing the wi-fi when I checked in, nor were there any instructions in the room. I tried to log in to the "guest" wi-fi, but only got an error message, so I had to use the "public" wi-fi rather than the "guest" wi-fi. One of the elevators was stuck on the 8th floor for the entirety of my visit. The shower was dingy & there was some grime around the bottom of the door frame. And it's not important, but the carpet was really ugly. Overall, it was fine, but I'm not likely to stay again, nor to recommend it to out-of-town visitor when there are other options in the same price range within walking distance.

The decor was uninspiring and the room was pretty dark and cramped, with our one window facing a brick wall. This is of an older building, but it felt more like a mediocre hotel than a Courtyard.

Clean and modern hotel with incredibly helpful and attentive staff, especially Dan who checked us in. Fantastic location.

The room was awesome! It was clean and very spacious. Great for young kids to move around. The location was pretty central in downtown and was easy to walk around.

We were very disappointed by the parking options. Valet costs $52 per night. There is public parking right next to the hotel (short block walk) which is $18 but has horrible security. We chose to park in the public parking and on our last night, the driver side window was completely busted on our rental. The security guard that's there just says it happens all the time. It's not the Courtyard's fault, but paying $52 extra per night just to SAFELY park your car is too much.

I left and didn't stay there. Its Vaile parking and I was in a rental. I had evening plans and would need the car after I got ready. There was a parking facility across the street but that would mean bringing my luggage across a Downtown street. This may have been ok if I wasn't driving. It wasn't for me.

My coffee maker died, and within 20 mins of notifying the front desk, they had checked it out, agreed it was dead, had a new one to my room, & stayed until verified it worked. YAY!

Beds are firm but comfortable. Laundry room was small w/few machines but machines were inexpensive & SUPER EFFICIENT (one dryer in particular cost $1 for 60 minutes & even on medium-low settings it THOROUGHLY dried everything in my load). Desk staff was very accommodating & the in-house restaurant/bar was good (drinks were outstanding, food was okay American). There are so many other restaurants nearby to eat at, but not so many bars that are really nice to drink in without loud annoying drunks, & scammers or homeless bugging you. It’s nice to feel safe just having a few without watching your back.

Poor customer service. During my 4 night stay I asked for cleaning only 1 day and told the clerk which day. Cleaning never happened and I had to ask 3 times to get fresh towels. No ice in the ice machine for two days. I did not check on the third day nor did I report it. Always ran out in coffee and cream in the morning. Asked a staff member to refill the cream and was told to go to the in-site restaurant (which I don’t think is affiliated with the Marriott) and ask for the cream myself. As can be expected the restaurant said no because they needed it for their customers.

I enjoyed the location.

The room was not as clean as displayed in photos. The check in staff could have been a little bit more kind, she was not rude but she also didn’t seem to want to be there. Upon going to the elevator, there was ranch on the floor and splattered on the walls. The towels had someone else’s hair on it and the carpets weren’t super clean. I guess for the price and location it’s okay. I would not rebook in the future.

The room was hot and the engineer was gone so no one could fix it nor did they offer any solutions. I think the person truly didn’t know what to do. The parking wasn’t made clear on the booking website You pay an additional $56 to park your car for the night.

The off street valet parking was convenient and valets were great and so friendly! All the staff were extraordinary. Unfortunately the down town area was rough and a little intimidating (not the hotels issue) but the hotel was safe and very welcoming. They went out of their way to facilitate our son's medical needs and provided an immaculate room for our stay for treatment at OHSU.

Portland streets are pretty rough for family visit.

The front desk staff was very kind and welcoming from the time I arrived to the time I left. The hotel was within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the Amtrak train station. Best of all, the nightly rate for my room was surprisingly affordable. I have stayed at the Marriott's other locations in the past, and I plan to do so again when I visit Portland next time.

Though it looked like my room had been cleaned, I still found strands of long hair on the bathroom floors and bath tub. Not sure if this were overlooked by the housekeeping staff.

The was no parking to accommodate my truck. It got broken into over the night and I had to buy a new window also
