Reviewed Sep 9, 2026The room has recently been refurbished, and all the amenities are fantastic. The coffee machine and the lounge chairs are a good addition. The bathroom is stunning. The front desk was friendly and helpful, really made our stay a breeze. I love the extra lil treats in the room, like the cookies and the tea selection. Room is well stocked with cutlery and dishes for your stay.

We booked a room with a Spa for our 7 year old twins, they were going on all day about how they couldn’t wait to get to the hotel for a warm spa after being in the snow all day, to Arriving their to be told sorry we are upgrading our rooms NO SPA & that was it, no money back for paying extra for the spa, my kids were really disappointed and upset and the road was so noisey it sounded like our windows were open all night, very disappointing

It has been thoughtfuly laid out with all you could need. The bed was comfy and the shower lovely. Lovely staff who happily allowed an extra nights stay without any trouble.

The facilities far exceeded my expectations with this being the only motel that I have stayed at that provides its only Toilet air freshener. That in my eyes provides the ultimate means in service. Things like the salt and pepper were exceptional as well. Definitely a 10.

Our girls loved the spa bath and we were all lucky to get a newly refurbished room which was lovely. Dave was a fab host, highly recommended.

Reviewed May 26, 2026It is a wonderfully furnished and tidy motel. Piping hot water, shower and bath Comfortable beds, working TV with YouTube- All in all, a perfect place to rest and recouperate.
This is close to hospital so sometimes you can hear the sirens a little more often at night. But that's no negative point, because with all the comfort provided, after a while, nothing really disturbed. Slept like a baby and woke up fresh and happy.

We needed to make some last minute changes to our booking - arriving a night early, needing a later checkout - and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. We had a lovely chat with one of the housekeepers who was clearly very happy and took pride in presenting a high quality clean and service in the rooms. We're already making plans to return!

The accomodation was like an large apartment with a kitchen, huge lounge dining area, large bedroom and huge bathroom with a separate spa bath away from the shower. The apartment was spotless. The owners and staff OBVIOUSLY take a great deal of pride in the place. Absolutely loved staying here and highly recommend BRAEMAR MOTOR LODGE TO PEOPLE VISITING PALMERSTON NORTH. DON'T BOTH LOOKING ANYWHERE ELSE COME STRAIGHT TO THIS GEM OF A PLACE.
