The gap around the street facing blind meant that the light coming in hit you in bed, so disturbed sleep a little. The TV remote either needs batteries replaced or fixed as very difficult getting it to select anything on the TV.

Reviewed Mar 22, 2026Drovers Inn is a relatively simple proposition. The rooms are well appointed with a small kitchen, a decent comfortable bed and a functional bathroom. The place is impeccably clean. Not what I would call a holiday destination, but perfectly suited to accommodating you if needing to visit Palmerston North.
A slightly later check out time might have been a benefit, but I guess to bring it up to the level of cleanliness achieved the cleaning team need all the hours they can get.

Reviewed Mar 9, 2026I was recommended this accommodation by another family member and was very impressed. Lovely and tidy, nicely decorated.. and surprisingly quiet for being on a main street. Our 1 bedroom unit even had its own outdoor area. Great also having parking right outside of the unit. The owner was really friendly and helpful. It was also very handy to town for shopping and going out to eat.

The shower head in the bathroom was really floppy and wouldn't stay in the position I put it in so not the greatest.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026I loved how the hotel had more than just the standard amenities that most hotels have like a full sized fridge freezer, draws and wardrobe, daily housekeeping and the cleanliness of the room is amicable. Loved our stay there and the staff are very friendly and respectful. They also have free lollies in reception area lol. Thank you drovers for an awesome stay.
I think the only thing that was not enjoyed by my partner is that the outside deck is not that big but it has both air con vents in it which blows freezing air on your entire body as one is on the bottom and the other above it. Not a complaint just a cold observation lol but it would nice in the summer time

At intervals, initially some noise from upstairs apartment occupants was disturbing. The room is near the road and entranceway which made difficult to navigate access to and from the car park.
