Hilton Reading Hotel

We had a fantastic stay at the Hilton Reading, very comfortable bed, rom was spoltless clean.

The room was clean and tidy,

Charging parking for resident despite parking belong to hotel and restaurant charging service charges despite quality of food and services poor.

We were told to wait 10 minutes to check in, we ended up having to wait an hour and 20 minutes. The breakfast was good although the veggie sausages were awful. The pillows are unsupportive and way too soft, we were told they were the only ones. The room smelt damp and of mildew and we were unable to open the window.

On arrival had to wait for the bed to made up to a Queen, even though i spent the evening on the phone sorting this out and it was confirmed, as i had my 99yr old mother with me in a wheelchair. The onscreen menu is not available until after 6pm but didn't state so which meant we spent 30 mins deciding what ww wanted to be told cant order, use the lunch menu which was not available. Internet/WiFi does not allow you to connect to any other devices which was annoying. However, my partner spoke to the manager who was on duty during our weekend stay and he was amazing. He ensured we ordered what we wanted especially for my elderly mother and arranged for room service with complementary drinks and a complementary breakfast the morning we were leaving, which was greatly appreciated and made a big difference to our stay. Thank you.

The area outside the hotel smells like a sewer think it was build around a old sewer

I have raised these two matters previously but nothing has changed. In the past the rooms had 500ml bottles of water. Now there are are two small 250ml cans. Water in cans tastes flat. It is probably cheaper I query whether it is more sustainable - a bottle is nore likely to be rccled than can mixed in the room waste. Secondly the rooms have no searchable TV quide. This means you have to scroll through each channel and try to work out what is showing. This seems bizarre for a Freeview TV service. It does not add to comfort.> I have raised both thes issues formally with staff for over a year. Other than this I highly recommend this hotel

Not that good

Very friendly staff, hotel was very clean and food was great.

There’s a level of expectancy with the Hilton and they absolutely held that up and what’s better is the price was a steal.

My stay at Hilton hotel at Reading was an amazing experience

The staff were very friendly, polite and extremely helpful. The cleanliness of hotel was excellent. The rooms were great with all the facilities in good working order.

bed too small in a room big enough to cope with a larger one, excessive cost to park at the hotel when a guest.

Everything was great apart from the pillows which were too soft and I found them uncomfortable.

This Hilton hotel in reading was an excellent choice and it was very clean and well maintained , the staff were very polite and professional and checking and check out was very easy . I would highly recommend this hotel for your stays

Good for the half marathon

A great stay. We had interconnecting rooms for our small boys and we also brought our dog. Lovely pool. Amazing breakfast buffet.

I booked a queen size room. They upgraded me for a first time visit. To a king size room. Not sure how that works as that’s a downgrade

Alway try and stay at the Hilton when staying over in Reading. Comfy, convenient, easy parking and Excellant food in the restaurant.

The bath was very nice, fridge and water complemented the room and bed was very comfy, we had a great nights sleep, the leisure facilities were good and we got to use the running and rowing machines as well as the pool and sauna and steam room twice whilst we were there for only one night, check out is at great late time of 12 which is also a bonus

Very large comfortable beds. Pillows could be firmer. The usb charger did not work. Amazing breakfast selection.

Excellent apart from the bed . Mattress was far too firm for my wife. Ok for me but it was very very firm.

Room was located near to the event room. Lots of noise until 12.30am on both nights making it impossibke ti get to sleep.

Everything was comfortable, clean and of the high standard you come to expect of the Hilton. My only complaint would be the room service food options were limited (or as it appears on the menu you can access from TV) and another hotel that charges £15 a day for parking. If you’re a guest of a hotel I believe this should be included so it’s always disappointing when it’s not.

Staff are friendly and helpful, room is clean but lacks certain essentials like plates and cutlery, bathroom doesn’t have a glass for mouthwash, the hotel is reasonably priced for what it offers but it needs to add bits of utensils to make it more comfortable. Four stars for good value to quality.

The hotel was nice and quiet. I slept very well and did not hear anything. I recommend this hotel.

Very well maintained property, looks and feels new, clean, good breakfast. Heated pool. Staff very helpful and polite. Will stay here whenever in Reading.

The charge for drinks was extortionate ie £18 for a brandy &coke .. Asked for a Bacardi non brand also no Malibu. £4 for a SMall bottle of lemonade..

I like using the swimming pool whilst I stay there.

Stay was all good There were a couple of down sides to the room! There was no kettle in the room so not able to have a normal tea or coffee unless you went down to the restaurant, and there was no tv guide on the tv. Not sure if it was just our room or this was standard across all the rooms. Apart from these small niggles the hotel was great and happily stay there again next time I visit the area I would recommend

There was a party going on downstairs, i was unable to sleep due to the noise so i left halfway through the night!

Great place to stay friendly staff and fresh looking hotel. Only downfall was the charge for parking in th me car park, considering when booking it stated as free parking.. so double check before booking..

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately there was an event at the hotel on the night of our stay with loud music beneath our room until early hours. Not what I wanted for family stay. Called reception but nothing able to be done.

Bar staff very unhelpful and rude. Hotel overall average. Rooms dated. Reception and bar area fresh and clean. Booked 5 rooms and would not say very good value for money.

Hotel was nice, but for a Hilton I expected more from the rooms. Shower was rubbish, no sockets near bed. Food was okay, expensive. Breakfast buffet not overly good quality ingredients.

Easy and cheap parking, friendly and efficient reception. All areas very clean and comfortable. Food and service in the bar and restaurant excellent. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Good sized room, very clean. Very large bed but you could hear and somewhat feel the springs when you moved around on the bed. Not uncomfortable but I've definitely had better mattresses. The hot chocolate sachet in the room was 3 months out of date. Breakfast was very good, nice that veggie sausages were provided as standard and a much better selection of pastries than a usual buffet. Pool was small and relatively busy but nice, good to have use of sauna and steam room.

Our stay was a quick Bank Holiday get away. It was really nice. Little Miss loved the pool.

What an amazing experience we had at the Hilton Reading. Jana snd the reception staff ensured our stay to celebrate my Dads 80th Birthday was absolutely perfect. We had 7 rooms for the weekend. Jana had arranged balloons and cake in my parent’s suite. The restaurant staff were superb too, great service, with a seating plan and delicious food. I would highly recommend this hotel. The leisure club staff and manager were pleasant, friendly and welcoming. Thank you Hilton Reading - Jayne Lawson

issue on check in - not dealt with well and only addressed really after having to make a complaint. not customer focused and really not appreciated after long day travelling. still waiting for charging reversal. would not stya again which is a same as rooms are nice and food is good.

Stay regularly however the room always cold and heating never working correctly After 8 years of staying unless over a certain level now charging for car parking despite out on its own total profit making and will probably force me not to use again out of principle

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff excellent condition and service, cleaning and cleanliness excellent and the use and access of the health club facilities made my stay even more relaxing.

Great welcome from receptionist on Friday 5 January at check in and again from the same lady on Saturday morning. Car park was free in January so a bonus for us. Breakfast was £15/ person and was fabulous, a well stocked buffet. Room was clean and quiet albeit hotel was not busy. Ideal stop off just off M4 to break up our trip to London at night.

Good services, room also okay except television automatic power off so many times, bathroom's ventilation fan too weak (Almost can't work) and 3 of USB hub beside the bed totally can't work.

My stay was good, staff were pleasant, professional, friendly and helpful.

Great stay. Great staff and nice ambience. Bar area is nice. I would have preferred an earlier check in time but otherwise fine. Breakfast was a little pricey (£20) but good.

Be warned - they close the bar at 1030, even on a Friday, with no warning. I had always thought Hiltons were proper hotels, but there you go.

Comfortable enough, but typical large chain aimed at corporate type hotel. Nothing wrong with any of it, but could have been anyone anywhere in the world - but guess that’s what chain hotels do.

Having stayed in Hotels in and around Reading for the last 34 months, I though it was time to give the Hilton a go. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was very good, although it lacked 13A sockets. Food quality was good, although somewhat expensive and there's a 'service charge' which I didn't see mentioned anywhere. Sticking to the topic of food, after checking in on Monday evening I looked at the Menu and saw several tasty options. However, when seated in the Restaurant I was given a single A4 sheet with a limited menu. I asked for the more expansive menu, only to be told that it was unavailable because the menu was being changed. I opted for a sirloin steak at £31, which was, to be honest, excellent! On Tuesday evening I was given the 'new' full menu, but wasn't really inspired, so ordered the sirloin again, only to find that the price had now risen to £34!! On Wednesday evening they didn't have what I ordered, which, considering it was a 'new' menu, is pretty poor. And now the real disappinment ... On Tuesday evening, whilst in the Hotels underground car park my vehicle was broken in to and several items were stolen. Together with the damage, it's cost over £1500.00. On Wednesday I enquired about CCTV footage, but received a shake of the head, shrug of the shoulders, and that was that. At checkout on Friday morning I was asked if everything had been okay with my stay, to which I replied, "Not really." I explained why, but I didn't get any response whatsoever!

Unable to provide room service of breakfast to me which was very surpised at considering its the Hilton the biggest hotel chain in world! Not good and felt extremely let down.on this!

Wrong room given -ordered a king room and was given a twin, I was upgraded but still a twin room , offered a change but only here 1 night, not worth the trouble moving to another room again otherwise great hotel and facilities, attentive staff-would come again.

Really nice hotel, good location, spacious and bright. Food choice at breakfast was exceptionally good. Evening meal was good value and very tasty.

Essentially a lovely hotel. Nice little pool too. Only reservation was the service. Some members of staff were lovely (if highly inefficient) while others were unwelcoming, slow and disinterested in their work.

It was ok. Long line up to check-in at 11pm. Pillows were flat. No toilet paper was topped when I checked in.

Clean and welcoming

I checked-in on the 8th of July 2023 and checked-out on the 9th of July 2023 at Reading Hilton Hotel. On the very day of 9th of July , came home in Bournemouth and discovered that I had left my blue blouse hanged in the Room 159 wardrobe. Called the hotel receptionist on the same day 9th of July about my blouse. The receptionist promised to call me back the next morning 10th of July after she checked with the housekeeping on the lost property.I didn’t get any call that day. I called again this morning on the 11th of July and again promised to call me back today but heard nothing from the hotel. I am still waiting for the receptionist to let me know about my blouse still in the hotel. Please advise. Thank you.

Excellent customer service from the second we arrived til when we left. The hotel is modern and clean and has great facilities. The oxbo restaurant was lovely, with delicious food and drink. Overall we had a great time and would love to return one day

Just one night as a stopover into London. I’ll start with the negative first. The room rate is very reasonable but good and drink is excruciatingly expensive for what it is but I guess it is a hotel so you pay the price. On the positive side, the room was quiet, comfortable, clean and well appointed. Service throughout the hotel was very good and the health centre was good too. I would definitely stay here again but probably plan ahead and eat out

Not as good as expected or as usual, I don't know what went wrong this time but it seemed to be one problem after another. When I checked out, I asked them to email me my receipt which I am still waiting for. Just poor service this time.

First impressions good, Check all went smoothly. After making a mistake and leaving me without breakfast, they didn't seem in the slightest concerned. Not what i expected. The evening meal although not disaster was not again what i had expected.
