Location was perfect. Restaurant and bars are good! Staf was GREAT! Deadwood is also a great town.
Some sealant joints have come loose from the ceiling, so some minor maintenance needs to be done
The location was wonderful! We wanted a place a bit removed from downtown and this was perfect.
Um..... everything was so great I can't think of anything bad!
Marley rules. Clean new, no Smokey casino barf vibe. Good food!
A bit out of the way. That trolley isn’t truly convenient.
Comfort and beautiful scenery
My room door was open when I was trying to pack up and it was not even check out time.
Good choices of food without having to leave the facility.
Some of the wood tables were worn and dated.
Restaurant was great food and service. Nice to come in at the end of the day and be able to eat dinner at the Lodge.
Not much...
Everything!!
Nothing
L’hôtel est grand mais il y avait énormément de monde. Pas de petit déjeuner sur place
Le canapé lit était de très mauvaise qualité. Il est indispensable de disposer d’une voiture pour aller en ville
A motorcycle convention at the hotel led to a bit of chaos. We had a fire alarm at 3am!
This property is very nice. Very nice with service! People are so wonderful there. Great food! And gambling they are awesome workers.
The beds are super comfortable. The front desk is always polite and nice and rooms are clean. Trolley stops at hotel if you would like to take it into deadwood. We stayed august 1st-7th 2026. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in deadwood area.
Love the location, trolley downtown and the great restaurant/bar.
Quite expensive during the Sturgis Rally.....but we still stayed....
Breakfast was great! Bed was comfortable!
Nothing to dislike
We love were it’s located at
Nothing we loved it!
Beautiful place. We stayed in a room with a balcony, an awesome view. The room was spacious and clean. We loved the casino; the restaurant’s food is delicious.
Great food, fast service. Had a cheese steak. it was great with a cold beer. Plus right around the corner you can play the slots.
location
We love this property. We have stayed here several times. It’s always clean and comfortable. Plus there were Bighorn Sheep there this time so that was really cool!
I didn’t win at the casino 🤣. I really have no complaints. It would’ve been nice to have a night stand on both sides of the beds
Location and view
Wanted more of a swimming pool, it was a kids play pool.
We had an excellent stay at the Lodge! Room was spotless, bed was incredibly comfortable, and proximity to Deadwood couldn't be beat - plus, the trolley runs directly to the hotel as well - very inexpensive at $2 per person/per trip - beats paying for parking! We didn't have a chance to use the restaurant, or do any gambling, but we did try out the pool - only complaint is that it really is for kids only, it's too bad there isn't an outdoor pool to enjoy the views, or at least an area in the pool where it's not just for kids (aside from the hot tub). Would highly recommend - can be pricey but we got a deal on Expedia that couldn't be beat and was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the hotel's price!
My kids loved the pool, which has no deep end. A++ pool! Location was beautiful. The room was very nice and spacious. AC was awesome and beds were comfortable! However….The room wasn’t cleaned properly. What looked like feces was on the wall beneath the toilet roll holder, and the shower curtain was smudged up with what I hope was dirt. We didn’t make any complaints about it. Finally, on the morning we left, the dark haired front desk rep was a bit…much. Not sure what’s going on in her life that she is so disagreeable. When alerted that the coffee creamer at the coffee station was out, she was surprisingly put out at the idea of dealing with it. She didn’t look at me when I talked to her, only muttered some burdensome comments at her coworker and trudged off. Uh, ok then. For $300+ per night with no included breakfast, doesn’t seem so outrageous to ask for creamer with the coffee. Shrug.
Very nice and our dog was welcome
The grill restaurant is no longer there and the food at Oggies is not very good.
The hotel was clean enough. It was quiet as well.
The restaurant was awful. Three of us ate there twice. 6 meals total. The best they could do was a couple of meals were okay, the two worst meals were awful. The beds were ridiculously high off the ground. I'm six feet tall and had climb into bed it was so high.
Staff at check in was so kind and helpful. Beautiful property!
Hotel and room were decent and clean. Decor is mountain lodge - wood, stone, dark colors. As a result, room felt a bit cave-like. We paid extra for a room with a deck and first thing we noticed was a missing chair (easily rectified when we asked the front desk for a second chair) and we also noticed several dog kibble pieces on the deck. Obviously, there had been a dog staying in our room sometime before our stay. Ughhh…. nothing against dogs, but I usually do request pet-free rooms and may have neglected to do so for this hotel. Our tub drain was clogged as we found out when taking showers and standing in ankle deep water (did let front desk know upon checking out). I don’t understand why hotels don’t check their drains on a scheduled basis, as I’m sure it’s a common occurrence. Rooms are not very soundproof (but then most hotel rooms aren’t)…..but, with a casino and bar on site, there’s more noise in the hallways at night. Our first night, we experienced two drunk groups who met in the hallway at 2am, laughing talking comparing their bar and casino experiences (for at least 10-15 mins!) - we could hear their entire conversation. Regarding billing, beware that a credit card processing fee is charged for EACH NIGHT of stay. In our case $10 per night = $20 total for a 2-night stay. First time I’ve seen I’ve a hotel charge a credit card processing fee and reallllly????? This place is not inexpensive to start with and it just seems downright tacky. On a positive note, the hotel does have nice seating areas scattered throughout the main areas and outside which was nice to enjoy. It was also very convenient to have the restaurant on site and they had good food. Casino was also fun and very clean. But, overall, we feel this hotel is very overpriced as compared to others in the area for what you get.
The staff was helpful.
The sheets were stained on one of the beds
The room was clean. And the food is great.
Beautiful facility- nice staff, nice room.
Nothing-
Great rooms, amazing views, everything was super clean. Nice to have trolly to go downtown
We enjoyed the non smoking environment, great staff at reception, well appointed rooms and we had a great dinner at the pub.
Room was great! We had a balcony room that we loved and had not even requested! Staff was very friendly and rooms were clean. Breakfast was not free but available at the hotel and was excellent.
everything was good
The Lodge At Deadwood didn't have a motel feel, it had a cozy, homey feel. We choose the Lodge EVERY trip we take to rest up for our ventures..
The people were very helpful, loved the shuttle to downtown Deadwood, runs every 1/2 hr. Food was great & convinent. Lots of things to do in this area. Going back!!

Convenient and very clean

Easy check in and they accommodated our needs. Easy to get to town and to spearfish canyon. Wonderful restaurant and bar.
Wish there was a hot tub.
Great location and breakfast was wonderful and the Gift Shop was reasonably priced.
Nothing
Kid friendly and lactation was beautiful
We had a great time. Liked the room. You get all you need, room, casino, restaurant all in one place. Food was decent but the onion rings are killer. I know we booked late and probably could have gotten a better rate booking more in advance. Thats really the only issue which kinda falls on us and our lifestyle.
We had an outstanding stay at The Lodge in Deadwood. The hotel itself was beautiful, and the room exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, spacious, and very well maintained. One of the things we appreciated most was the location. It was far enough away from the busy downtown area to feel relaxing and quiet, but still incredibly convenient thanks to the trolley service. Being able to visit downtown Deadwood without having to deal with parking or traffic was a huge plus. We also ate at the sports bar during our stay, and both the food and service were excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Overall, this was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Great accommodations, convenient location, excellent dining, and wonderful service. We would absolutely stay here again when visiting Deadwood.
Awesome Property
I Had,to leave.
Location was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable. Limited food options so we drove 15 minutes to spearfish or Sturgis. There's a casino but slots were super tight. The pool and hot tub were great.
The fact that pets are allowed and cleanliness
It’s a little far from Main Street
The room was lovely and the restaurant had a nice vibe. We wished we had planned to stay more than one night here.
The only downside was that there were few grassy areas for our dog to do her business; the grassy areas have a steep drop after 4-5 feet so not very safe.
Roomy, clean, amenities- enjoyed the casino and restaurant. Pet friendly. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff.
No room service. But that would just be a perk. We enjoyed the whole stay.
Nice room. Nice staff. Free parking. Nice beds.
Very low water pressure in shower. Food was meh minus.
Location restaurant and casino in the facility also great treat having the trolley 🚋 service available! Accommodations comfortable, the bed and pillows are great !
Swimming pool and hot tub is great to have but unfortunately it was dirty We understand hotel aloud birthday parties at the pool but people were eating in the hot tub . We couldn’t stay it was disgustingly crowded and dirty unfortunately.
Everything was exceptional until our last night.
On our last night the room above us sounded like they were doing gymnastics. It was so bad our room would literally shake and the boom of the noise was very scary. This went on until 1:37am. We needed to be up at 4:00am to go back home.
We had a room on the bottom floor so we could go outside.
There was nothing we didn’t like!!
meal was good
drink at bar not good did give me another but just didn't taste right
It was clean and friendly and amazing
Price was high
The rooms were clean. Fresh coffee around the clock. Trolley service downtown was nice.
The pool didn’t go much deeper than 3 foot…not ideal for older kids. There was NO free continental breakfast. And we had a horrible experience at the on-site restaurant. Those two things alone are why we will never stay there again. Our room overlooked the roof - so no scenery. Definitely not worth the cost of what we paid.
We always love staying at this property. Wonderful staff, very nice rooms, and beautiful Black Hills views. The restaurant and Preacher Smith's Taproom & Emporium were great and the casino is so clean. The Deadwood Trolley stops hourly with transportation into Deadwood.
Nothing to dislike about this stay. Wish that it was longer!
Very clean
Offer more food choices other than the delicious restaurant/bar .. a coffee shop would be a big bonus
Clean. Nice people.

Location and gaming available
The hot tub didn't work
Nice place. Beautiful location and the trolleys rides are very convenient. We stayed there at least five times before. Last year I called to see if we could get a better deal since we've stayed there for years. The lady helped us out and gave us a decent discount which told us they appreciated repeat customers. This year I called and they said since it's a busy week they couldn't/wouldn't give any discounts. We're staying someplace else this time.
Pet friendly, outdoor room access, nice areas to walk our dogs, friendly staff. Rooms are well separated from the noise of the casino.
Limited food options, but all of Deadwood seems to be a food desert.
The employees are great, the facility is clean. Rooms are decorated nicely. A great refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. The food in Oggie's Sports Bar was excellent both times I ate there.
The bathroom was way too small. The shower/tub hot water was able to get dangerously hot, not safe for kids or older adults. The video poker auto-holds your cards...so dumb. All video poker machines are the same, not a lot of variety.
Overall atmosphere & great room with fridge microwave and coffee maker, my wife love the bed very comfortable!
A kid pooped in the pool. We didn’t get to go swimming because you shut it down.
Location, staff and amenities were all excellent.
The bathroom was poorly lit. Shower was dark. The door was too close to the tub and toilet.
It’s a gorgeous hotel with excellent amenities which I highly recommend.
Shower head wasn’t terrible but I’ve used better
Love the sports betting and new games at the lodge. The kids love your pool.
Nothing
Excellent breakfast and surprisingly reasonable
Too high room rates just because it was the weekend. We were traveling thru and couldn’t help it fell on a weekend
all was pretty good, front desk was very helpful.
the washers and dryers need updated on second floor
The Lodge was very nice! We traveled during the Sturgis 85th. Rally andwe willdefinitelybebooking again. The grounds were beautiful not to mention the views! We didnt do well in the casino but the restaurant was fabulous, everyone in our group(9) enjoyed their meals every single time. We can't wait to go back!
I wished i could've had a King room. The double beds were nice but they were small.
