The location was excellent.. very handy for the city centre. The staff were lovely... friendly and really helpful. The room was pleasant and everywhere was clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast ( included) was tasty and plentiful with good choices.

A few improvements to the room would have improved my scoring. The shower needs updating. It ran very slowly and I couldn't see how to adjust the temp (which was ok) but some people like hotter or colder. My wife didn't bother with the shower as it wouldn't properly rinse. The toilet roll holder is badly positioned.. bit of a stretch from the loo. Needs moving a couple of tiles closer...Or have a free standing one. There was nowhere to properly store toiletries... only a tiny glass shelf above the sink. I would recommend putting a small shelving unit in the corner next to the sink so you can unpack all toiletries. Had to store in the window.

breakfast was very good the room was light and comfortable the car parking was easy paid £15 pounds to leave car from 11 o`clock am to 11 o`clock am the following day

the bedroom we had was number 2 on the ground floor small but had every thing we needed spoilt by the door into the room could do with a new one or a coat of paint

Good location and a very nice breakfast. The staff were all lovely. Overall a nice large old house.

The small double I booked was very small, particularly the bathroom. Also whilst I appreciate parking is expensive in York, I think it would be better if it was included in the room tariff as it feels a bit of a rip off having to pay extra to park at the location. If I was staying here again I would definitely book a bigger room and a bigger bed as the bed was really small.

Excellent base for exploring York on foot. Staff helpful and friendly. Could park car. Clean, comfortable, has everything you need. Good breakfast in a lovely space Great value for money.

L'accueil

We loved everything about B + B York. The room was lovely, very spacious , as was the bathroom. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk which was most welcome. The staff there are second to none , as was the delicious breakfast which is included in the room rate. I can honestly say this is the best accommodation we have stayed in the UK. If only all hotels were this good.

The property was in a good location..Our room was separate to main building but very clean and tidy ..Food was excellent!

At breakfast time the area was in two close areas to the one side guests with dogs were allowed..however on our first morning there was only seating in area where to dogs were which we didn’t mind as there was a queue of guests waiting to be seated ..what we didn’t like was that guest directly behind us had their dog sat in a basket on a chair at table level which we thought was a bit unhygienic..

Location was good, and staff were pleasant. Room was basic and tired.

We were charged £30 for parking our car for 2 nights in their own private car park. We were then informed that we wouldn't of had to pay for parking if we'd booked direct with them. So, in other words, it was their way of recouping the charges that a booking platform was charging them. There weren't enough tables, so we had to wait to be seated for breakfast.

Cost of parking. £15 per night is the most I’ve ever paid for accommodation parking but I didn’t know this until after I’d booked it I would have looked elsewhere. Breakfast was bog standard with no allowed swaps from the menu (eg couldn’t swap the beans for an extra egg)

Molto vicino al centro storico che è raggiungibile in pochi minuti a piedi. La zona è molto tranquilla, il B&B si trova in una via laterale per cui non c'è traffico. Molto comodo il parcheggio interno per l'auto. La stanza era sufficientemente grande. Colazione tipica inglese prevalentemente salata ordinabile dal tavolo con menu, oltre a self service.

Il costo del parcheggio è un po' alto ma almeno l'auto è in un'area privata. Bagno un po' stretto con piccolo lavandino.

The bed was uncomfortable, the noise from other guests walking around kept me awake, the breakfast was limited - no fruit, no cheese, no bread rolls etc

We booked the family suite and it was spacious enough for 4 people. Beds were very comfortable and bedding of very good quality. Breakfast was good with a selection of options offered including vegeterian. It was great to have on-site private parking (£15 per day).

Room was a bit hot. A small ventilator fan was provided, but as summers as getting hotter we would strongly suggest to the property to consider installing air-conditioning.

Car parking is expensive at £15 overnight, especially as I could have parked for free on the street outside (there's a 1 hour limit between 9am - 5pm, so in practice you can park for free on the street from 4pm - 10am, and there were plenty of spaces) but i didn't realise this until I had paid for their car park. The sausage and bread at breakfast were cheap, poor quality things

Could do with some TLC had a musty smell on arrival however the bedroom was clean a bit cold but they provided an electric heater which was great the shower pressure was low the bed was quite small for 2 people my husband likes his breakfast over cooked but wasn’t happy with it so didn’t eat it I think it was over priced for what it was but the stay was pleasant and the owner friendly

Located in a quiet leafy part of town, it's just a pleasant 20 mins walk to the centre with bakeries and pubs even closer. We were upgraded to the suite which had an amazingly comfortable bed! Lovely staff. Good value for York. Would stay again.

Breakfast room was small and loud, and we had to wait till there was a space but it was a very busy weekend. Would have liked some fruit for breakfast although there was a range of cooked options.

A lovely place to stay. The staff were all welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable, with enough storage space and a good size bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice, with all diets catered for with ease. There are ground floor room and everywhere on the ground floor is easily accessible if you have any mobility problems. The on site parking was a bonus and only a short walk into York!

You couldn't fault the actual hotel, comfortable clean rooms. Well located for walking into York centre and a nice quiet street.

When I booked on booking.com it said parking on site. When you clicked on the drop down there was no other info other than parking on site. After booking it then showed that there was a £15 charge and no guarantee of a space. I contacted the hotel immediately to say this information did not show until after booking and I'd like to cancel. They refused and sent me a video showing a long, convoluted way that I could have found this information before booking. I explained that this was misleading and I had a car full of stuff and needed a guaranteed private car park space. They continued to refused to cancel and refund even though it was weeks in advance and they would easily re-sell the room. When I came down for breakfast (at their own advertised quiet time 8-8.30am there was one table for 4 available but they said I had to wait. I explained I have to leave in 40 minutes as I had an appointment. They still refused to seat me and said there was another single person waiting I suggested we could share, but again they refused to ask the other guest. Another two people arrived who also had to wait when they could have split the tables and accommodated us all (the other person waiting was more than happy to share the table with me and, when we finally got seated, had a lovely chat about our experiences in York). This meant I had an unrelaxed, rushed breakfast. I found this place to be the most unaccommodating hotel I've come across in booking many places. Yes it was fine, but just for their attitude I would look elsewhere.

The beautuful property, friendly gardener and staff We loved the clean large room. The decor was lovely too. A really great stay all in all. Would definitely stay again on our next visit.

Too be really picky The cheap signage/ sheets of laminated offers and information in and outside the hotel let it down. A suggestion. A folder in each room with offers and information. Too many different staff at breakfast time in and out serving, in such a small breakfast room, so it became quite crowded. 5 in all. Although all wearing black, we weren't at times sure if they were staff or members of the public

B+B York is located about a 10 minute walk from the historic center in a quiet area. The room we had was spacious. Breakfast was very good, but it took a bit of time before it got served on account of all guests showing up in the breakfast area at the same time. As the tab water was not the most delicious, the water dispenser in the hall is a nice touch.

15 pounds per night for parking seems a bit much for me.

Location was good, about 15 minutes walk to centre, restaurants and shops along the way, lovely quiet area. Staff were exceptional, friendly, attentive and caring. Breakfast was excellent and great choice on menu, each order freshly cooked. Decor was lovely and calm.

The chairs in the breakfast room were very noisy when people moved them, I would suggest putting something under the legs.

15 or 20 walk distance to old town, its acceptable. staff are nice, room is clean,provide authentic english full breakfast.

price is a little bit high than expected. maybe it is peak season.

The bed was super comfortable. Although the room got quite warm, they provided a fan which helped. Breakfast was a highlight, especially since you can order fresh eggs to order—I had the omelette and it was delicious!

The bathroom wasn't very clean—I found hair in the shower stall and noticeable handprints on the walls. The skirting boards in the bedroom were also covered in dust. Hotels should at least ensure visible, high-touch areas are thoroughly cleaned, even if they aren't pulling out the bed every day.

Bon emplacement, mais parking payant, un peu pingre vu le prix de la nuité. Prestation très correcte mais sans petit plus qui pourrait faire dire "ouah, c'est top". On sent que la recherche de rentabilité prend le pas sur la qualité globale.
