Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Great location. Within walking distance to the Old Town and two beaches. The hotel nice large room and excellent onsite breakfast. Really enjoyed the pool and the many sun beds that were available.
Nice clean room, comfy bed and a good shower! The hotel itself was spotless. Nice little pool area, ideal for a couples break. A door on the ground floor that takes you straight onto the strip with cafes, restaurants & shops. Ideal location.
Some shelves would of been handy. There's not much space to put toiletries.
The Location
Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. Our room was located directly above the main nightlife and party area, and getting any sleep was practically impossible. The hotel even provides earplugs in the room, which already says a lot about the noise level. However, even with the earplugs, the music and noise were still loud and clearly audible throughout the night. Unless you are planning to stay out partying until the early hours yourself, I really cannot recommend this hotel. When we asked to change rooms because of the noise, we were told that the only option was to upgrade to a suite for an additional €300 per night. We found this very disappointing, especially considering that the noise issue was clearly known to the hotel. We also found some of the reception staff to be quite unfriendly and not particularly helpful. At times, their attitude even came across as somewhat arrogant, which made the situation even more frustrating. The room itself was also not what we expected. There was no proper separate bathroom, but rather a cabin-like setup for the toilet and shower, which did not feel particularly comfortable or private. Overall, in my opinion, the hotel is presented and marketed much better than what it actually offers. Considering the noise, the lack of helpfulness when we asked for another room, and the room design, our experience did not live up to our expectations at all.
Location, bed was comfortable, staff was great.
Balcony deck carpet not great/clean.
Great location. Nice room size. Food at the pool bar and breakfast was nice. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Complimentary jug of water in the room each day .
Pillows were not comfortable on the bed. Asked reception but no alternatives. The shower also leaked quite badly using the smaller showerhead. Sun loungers were all double and some constantly in shade. Made no sense as you can't lay how you like unless you both do. Lighting in the room was also very bad. It is strip lights along the ceiling which may as well not have been on.

We stayed here for a hen weekend and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. The rooms were amazing , really modern, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very functional and practical. The location was brilliant, just behind the main square and so close to all the bars, restaurants and everything going on in the Old Town. There’s an entrance that brings you straight out into the heart of everything, which was so handy, especially for a party weekend! We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel so can’t comment on that, but everything else was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. For a group or a hen weekend looking to be right in the centre of Albufeira, I would definitely recommend it. Fantastic location, gorgeous rooms and absolutely perfect for our weekend. We had a brilliant stay!
Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast had plenty of options. A good atmosphere for people in their twenties and thirties.
Breakfast was always fantastic. And the sun loungers are brilliant with a canopy overhead to shade us who don't love getting too much sun ☀️
The toilet and shower area in the rooms are a bit too open for me. I like privacy.
Location, pool, staff, rooms great and breakfast excellent
Only possible short coming was bathroom not really being a separate room but still nicely done.
Comfortable bed,big tv and spacious shower decent balcony and a lovely woman gave us a really nice welcome
You couldn't fit an infant in the toilet area, room was a bit small, air conditioning unit very confusing even though it looks simple.thought it was overpriced
A localização e o quarto
Very central to everything. Our room was facing the strip and the noise was not an issue, didn’t hear anything when doors are closed. Having the shop just below was great and lot of nice restaurant options around.
Great location
Nothing
Location was perfect although I think during peak season it would be extremely loud. Room was huge and clean. The whole hotel was clean and staff were very helpful
I would just be wary about the noise at night in peak season
Staff all lovel , location excellent if you want to be in the center of everything. Breakfast lovely
Breakfast was excellent and the pool was nice when the drunk people were not around
Being lied to by staff at check-in that a hotel gym was in construction and that we could use two other hotels near Indigo. Found out that NO GYM existed at all.
bom pequeno-almoço e boa localização, funcionários prestáveis e atentos.
Great location. Didn't need the ear plugs provided to drowned out the noise from the strip and I was at the front of the hotel! Really enjoyed the breakfast and all the choices it offered. The guy on reception was very helpful and friendly - cant remember his name.
A couple of times the shower water ever so slightly flooded into the bedroom so be aware
Hotel was very central in the old town of albuferia (which is full of busy bars and restaurants that are open well into the night), but you didn’t feel you were in the middle of it all when at the pool area. Comfy loungers and a good size pool, we spent our days just relaxing in the sun. Food in the pool bar was perfect for lunch without having to leave the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfy. We were on the 6th floor and had no issues with noise which was surprising given how central it was, the hotel did provide ear plugs but we didn’t need these.

The location was fantastic! The pool staff and check in staff were very friendly and enjoyable!
The checkout staff was not very friendly and the linens were dirty. Didn’t feel like a great value for what was spent and they wouldn’t allow me to use my IHG loyalty number on the reservation due to it being booked through Booking… which I’ve never had happen previously.
Beautiful Pool area
Location could be noisy but we got a room that wasn’t affected
The staff were great. Especially the reception staff. The room was small but good and functional for our needs. I was there to take my son to a concert. The hotel is in the thick of the old town.
For some the noise at night may be an issue. We were there for two nights and it was fine for us.
Not to crowded. Staff were amazing. The poolside was very clean and the poolside beds amazing.

Location was very good
I didn’t receive my security deposit back, 3 weeks later still nothing and iv messaged multiple times regarding the issue with my last 2 messages not replied to
Car
We stayed at this hotel for five nights, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. We arrived in the middle of the night to find that there was only one bath towel between the two of us. As it was so late, we decided to wait until the following morning to ask for more. When we spoke to reception, we were told the towels were being washed and would be brought to our room when they were ready. After several phone calls throughout the day, we still hadn’t received them and ended up with one of us having to use the hand towel to dry off. To make matters worse, when we used the shower, it flooded the bathroom floor and leaked into the room. Trying to clean up the water with just one towel and a hand towel was extremely difficult. We reported the issue to reception, but were told that maintenance had already left for the day, so nothing could be done until the following day. We were also still waiting for the additional towels. The next day we finally received more towels, but when we used the shower again it was still flooding. We had to contact reception once more before someone eventually came to repair it. On the third day, we returned to our room to find an infestation of ants crawling up the wardrobe and around the bin. Considering we were staying on the ninth floor, and the bin had been emptied daily, this was shocking and completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, we also noticed that the curtains in our room were covered in mould, which was both unpleasant and concerning from a hygiene perspective. The ant problem continued for the rest of our stay, and we repeatedly had to ask housekeeping to clean the room and apply ant repellent. Overall, this was not the standard we expected from a hotel advertised as four stars. Between the lack of basic amenities, the unresolved maintenance issues, the mould in the room, and the ongoing pest problem, our stay was far from enjoyable. To top it all off, while waiting in reception today for our transport to the airport, we overheard more than five separate guests making complaints to reception. These ranged from rooms not being ready until after 5:00 pm despite check-in being advertised as 3:00 pm, to other guests reporting ant infestations in their rooms. Based on what we experienced ourselves and what we witnessed from other guests, these do not appear to be isolated incidents. Following my stay, I submitted a formal complaint to the hotel. They responded to say they would investigate the issues and look into compensation, but since then I have heard nothing further despite waiting for a response. The lack of communication and follow-up is extremely disappointing and only reinforces the poor experience we had during our stay. Customer service doesn’t end when guests check out, and the way this has been handled is not a good reflection of the hotel. I definitely won’t be staying here again or recommend this hotel to others.

Spent 4 days at this hotel last week and ended up Living out of a suitcase through out our stay due to not being aware that the cupboard was hidden behind a curtain. WiFi was extremely poor If your disabled or you have a baby who uses a pushchair , I had to pick up the pushchair and baby together and carry them up and down 10 steps in order to access the street. This hotel has certainly not catered for that. Also emailed the hotel a few hours after checking out that I had left my track suit top in the room and could they please get a cost to post to me in the UK, 2 days later I am still awaiting a reply.
The breakfast was amazing, the rooms are spacious. The staff was nice, the location is really good
Location is perfect, staff is amazing.
I booked because online it said it had parking, it does not. Parking is very close and you have to pay, but website needs to be edited that parking is NOT included.
perfect location
staff & cleaning crew (room wasnt that clean and some towels were missing)
Everything
Little Noisy at night but this would be expected considering how close the location is to town centre
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Albufeira. We had a decent room with a balcony overlooking the town. Enjoyed sitting out, particularly on an evening listening to the live music and sounds from the street (although Sweet Caroline got a bit tiresome after a few nights!) The noise into the early hours wasn’t really a problem for me, probably because I’m hard of hearing anyway and also took my own silicone ear plugs. Room was cleaned every day, all staff were friendly and helpful. I particularly found Gopal on reception very helpful, he sorted out a couple of issues for us in a kind and professional manner, nothing seemed too much trouble. The sun beds around the pool area are very comfortable and the attentive bar staff provided for a relaxing atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the small indoor hydrotherapy pool the soothing jets also very relaxing. Breakfast was excellent. Good choices, the food quality excellent particularly the healthy fruit and the not so health pastries! Great location to explore the local area, we particularly enjoyed a trip to Faro City using public transport and visiting some of the beautiful coves using Bolt. Nice beaches a short walk from the hotel too. Pleasant walk to the Marina area. All in all a lovely holiday.
I loved everything about this hotel — the staff, the prime location, and the energy. I could go on, but it exceeded all of my expectations.
My only complaint—and it’s a very minor one—was that the room didn’t have an iron. It did have a steamer, which I’m personally not a fan of, but to each their own.
Spacious room, tasty breakfast without any missing items. We went for the balcony room which I would recommend as it gave that extra bit of space. Bed was huge, I'm 6'1 and usually hang off, but this was an immense bed
There was a roach in the hallway when we arrived, I personally didn't mind, and is to be expected in hot countries, and I like weird bugs, but GF was scared. Nothing else I can think of apart from that.
posizione top. camera ampia e super accogliente. personale gentilissimo
The location
The rooms
The location was brilliant for the strip. The rooms were a good size.
No wardrobe or place to hang clothes.
Very spacious room. Hotel was very convenient and right in the old town.
The tv had limited channels and couldn’t cast. The staff were also a bit frosty at times
I booked her with some trepidation, I had read very mixed reviews, some very good and - you have probably read the not so good. Yes of course it is noisy from outside - it is in the middle of all the action, but that means everything you could want is right on the doorsteps. It is surrounded by bars, clubs, shops and a whole mix of restaurants. The beach is less than 5-minute walk. What struck me though, was that we didn't hear anyone staggering noisily back to their room (as you often get!). The heavy bedroom doors are obviously providing very good sound proofing, so we were really not bothered by noise at all. The standard room we chose is quite small, very little space for your things, hanging space very limited - but we managed! If we return, we would upgrade. Bonus to have efficient air-conditioning. Really good to have a decent size fridge and filtered water replenished every day. There is a coffee machine, no kettle, so we took a travel kettle. Yes, the bathroom is not the most private, but was ok, good sized shower, nice toiletries. We found everyone very friendly and helpful when we had a few issues. The breakfast room, buffet is small but intimate - indoor and outdoor seating. Excellent selection of food, from smoothie, fruit, yogurt, pastries, small choice of breads and a selection of freshly cooked food. Coffee machine offering all the usual for you to select. Plenty of loungers on the terrace, plus the raised area. The pool isn't the biggest, but was fine, lovely to have the stars to float on. I think that covers it, if I was to return to that area, I would certainly rebook.
Comfy bed. 1 minute walk from the mall/food hall. Clean
Noisy. Poor wifi
First things first, if you’re not going on a holiday where you plan to get drunk every night then do not stay here. It’s right on the strip and the music and noise goes on until 3am. We were on this sort of holiday and even I struggled. The rooms are nice, but odd. The shower and toilet are just in the room behind thin doors that don’t close properly. That’s not so much of an issue for the shower, but if you’re sharing a room you can hear everything going on in the toilet.. the sink is on the desk so most of it will get covered in water. I really don’t like when hotels demand you pay a deposit up front on arrival. It’s a really poor way to welcome guests by saying “we don’t trust you and you must give us more money after paying for your room to stay here”. They also take this money out rather than holding a card, why can’t they just keep a card on file if they want? Pool is nice and no issues with sunbeds, which are also more upmarket than the usual plastic ones. Some cleanliness issues with other areas of the hotel, the second lift that takes you from the pool down to ground level smelt awful for our entire trip. Also, be careful when ordering anything at the pool bar, as they just add a random tip on to anything you buy without telling you - which ranged from about 7-15%. Overall, I would not stay here again. And if you’re not going for a drinking holiday with mates, I can’t think of anywhere worse to stay.
Staff : location : facilities : room : Excellent 🥇
Nothing at all
Top 2 issues: 1. Cockroaches. I stayed in a premium room (with the soaking tub outside the bathroom); can’t remember if it was room 502 or 501. On two different occasions, I saw two of the biggest cockroaches I have ever seen in my life and I think one of them was the flying kind. So big that I could hear it when it was crawling on the curtains. So big that it wasn’t fast, so I was able to trap it in one of the plastic reusable water cups in the room. After seeing the second one a few days later (it was on the rug, right where I was going to put my feet into slippers upon getting out of bed after waking up), I was so disgusted and knew I wasn’t going to be able to fall asleep there again. I booked a different hotel for the remaining half of my trip. Before checking out of Hotel Indigo, I went to the front desk to ask for a refund for only the nights I wasn’t going to be using. The process with the front desk was a total nightmare. Too much to type so I’ll spare you the details, but the male employee at the front desk was rude and difficult. Overall, the staff didn’t think the roaches were a problem nor did they seem to do anything to prevent them. They did offer me a spray bottle of some kind of bug repellent. If it weren’t for Expedia (the travel site I originally booked Hotel Indigo through), I wouldn’t have gotten the refund for the 4 remaining days. 2. Beware of noise. If you’re looking for a wild spring break-type of trip (or want to get drunk and stay out until 4am every night), then Hotel Indigo is the place for you! Unfortunately, this was a last-minute vacation for me and I didn’t do my research on Old Town in Albufeira before traveling. The reviews of this hotel don’t do the noise levels justice. This hotel is right in the heart of Old Town, on a busy street that has bar after bar (probably why there are roaches in this area), that play music until 4:00 in the morning, Monday-Sunday. So loud that the flimsy earplugs the hotel provides don’t do a thing. If you want to save money and don’t mind the noise, this place wasn’t terrible for the price. I just wish I stayed somewhere else.

What a great hotel. Friendly and helpful staff Room absolutely beautiful and clean Hotel clean and tidy Pool fabulous with large starfish beanbag floats, that moulded to your body. Breakfast excellent, so much choice from tasty English bacon, sausage and eggs. To healthy options of ginger shots , yogurts with chia seeds and fresh cut up fruits. Fresh pastries, great bread and croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice, selection of other juices and daily flavoured water. Prosecco too! The bar area and four poster day beds were very chilled, relaxing music and never struggled to get a day bed. Snacks and food served from the bar were tasty and fresh. Can not fault the bar staff, so friendly and always smiling. Great location and lift right down to the old town. Will definitely return next year!
We had an amazing stay, the hotel and staff were all so lovely and welcoming. The location is amazing right on the old town strip. Not to mention the pool and bar area is beautiful. A special shoutout to Dipu the worker at the bar at the pool he was so kind and approachable really made us feel at home.
Facilities, clean, staff.
Breakfast not included on day of arrival.
The hotel room was nice. The staff around the pool were lovely. It was noisy on the evening with loud noise untill early hours. I was asked to pay £150 deposit which was a shock, i was told when I checked out which was a week ago that they would take the tax out of this amount & the rest would be returned to me in a couple of days. I have not received the rest of my money. I emailed but have not had a response.
Such a lovely hotel right in the middle of everything. So close to the beach and right in to the main strip of bars and restaurants. Place was very clean and the staff were lovely. Pool was 10/10 one of the cleanest Iv been in and the sun lounges were super comfortable. Bar snacks and cocktails were amazing, fully made the most of the fresh made frozen daiquiris. Will definitely be back when in Portugal 😊
The location is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable. The pool area is nice, and the food served is high quality.
The front desk staff were extremely unprofessional and incompetent. We arrived as a group of nine and had all prepaid for our stay through Booking.com. Despite this, every single member of our group was questioned at check-in and told that no payment had been received. As a result of this confusion, one member of our group was required to pay for her room a second time. When she later approached the front desk to request a refund for the duplicate charge, she was met with such a rude attitude, and no attempt to rectify the situation. No apology was offered, nor was there any acknowledgment of the inconvenience and stress caused by the hotel's mistake. It is astonishing that a hotel can be so disorganized and unprepared to deal with prepaid bookings. The lack of professionalism and basic customer service displayed by the front desk staff was unacceptable.
Proximity to everything Rooms are lovely Pool staff are lovely Pool food is lovely
We were a group of 9 people staying at the hotel and it was a disaster with reception staff. They were completely incompetent. They tried to over charge and make every person staying double pay for their rooms. Even when we showed receipts and payments made before arriving to the hotel- paying the full amount, the man and woman at check in insisted we had not paid. They overcharged one person- doubling their cost of the stay. It took 45 minutes arguing with the receptionist to get the money refunded- no apology or admission of wrongdoing. The female receptionist was particularly poor at her job and not trained at all. She really lacks people skills and ability for the job. It really took away from our experience and we would not recommend for people to stay here unfortunately. I’ve stayed at this hotel 4 times previously and never had this experience. The hotel has been taken over by new people and it’s gone downhill incredibly quickly as a result. I wouldn’t stay again.
Nice staff Clean room and pool area

All good
My husband and myself are just home from a three night stay and are already missing this hotel. We go away every year and this place is that good we are booking here again for next year. We arrived too early for check in and because we had to wait a little the fantastic reception staff give us free drinks at the bar. Also the man behind the bar (with the glasses sorry we didnt catch his name) was brilliant my husband complimented to him how good the burgers are lol. Can't wait to come back next year.
Unfinished room and no answer
Location excellent everything you need right beside you, we had street view room and the noise at night didnt keep us awake, loved it
The room could have been cleaned more, for 4 nights, cleaned once, had to go and ask for clean towels twice
Clean
The staff didnt prepare the room even after 3pm. And still I m trying to get my bill from them but they dont even answer my messages
Loved everything the rooms were spacious and comfortable spotless and location was exceptional right in the heart of old town
Nothing everything was amazing
Perfect location, clean and modern. Pool area really nice
Loud on a night however they do provide earplugs so we didn’t have a problem getting sleep
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times previously when it was the Hotel California so I knew what to expect. I went with a friend, on arrival there was a group of 6 checking in and only 1 member of staff. Whilst in the queue we spoke to 2 other guests who were checking out, they advised us to be aware of the £150 deposit the hotel requested, they advised that they had not paid it as they did not have the money. When it was finally our turn at reception, we were asked to pay tourist tax which I advised we had paid when I paid for the hotel room in full and it shows on the bill, the receptionist then asked me for £150 deposit. I advised that I would not be paying £150 deposit as it was not stipulated on the bill or on the website when I booked and that I didn’t have the money and so there was nothing I could do. A male staff member then appeared, was very abrupt and rude and said that I would need to pay the £150 deposit. I told him I wasn’t going pay it and that I’ve already paid for the room and if there were any damages then I would pay for them but considering that we’re in our 40s I can’t see there being any. He then tried to show me on the website where it mentions the £150 deposit I said I wasn’t interested because I wasn’t paying it, another couple. who were also waiting to check in said that it did mention on the website that large parties could be asked to pay for a deposit, so the information on the website is clearly wrong. The reception staff were very hostile from then on. You take money with you to pay for your spends on holiday not to be handing over to staff for a deposit, which I have never been asked for in all my years of traveling. Other than that the room we had was on the eighth floor which was fine no problem. It was clean, view of the pool. However, the toilet and the shower set up was strange (I had expected a refurb to address these issues). The toilet door had a gap in it so if you’re on the toilet, everybody can hear you, if you’re in the shower there’s a mirror directly opposite the shower so whoever is sat on the bed can see you coming out of the shower, there was no wardrobe so you couldn’t hang any of your clothes up and there was no decent lighting. There was no mirror above the dressing table to use just a tall mirror or your own hand mirror. The pool staff and restaurant staff couldn’t have done more for us they were lovely. It’s just a shame that the two people on reception when we checked in at dinner time were quite rude and treated us as a burden rather than guests, however, the night staff on reception were lovely. I wouldn’t come back again because I don’t think it’s right to be asking for £150 deposit from some guests and accepting to ignore so called company policy when met with resistance from other guests, this seems unprofessional and slightly dishonest.
Location, pool area and beds were fantastic! Food was nice and room was lovely!
The staff!! Check in guy (valendino? Not sure on his name but his wife was with him) was rude and miserable and acted like we were massively inconveniencing him by checking in!
Location, cleanliness, and spa breakfast was very good and service was amazing
The only complaint I would have is the lifts they need to be updated why this will be my only complaint is because I am a nervous person of lifts as I have bad experience in the past, however there is stairs if needed
The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful:-)
Nothing
Our room was amazing, always clean and tidy. Didn't get to use the pools, but when I visited the pool floor it looked spotless. The location of the hotel from the street level entrance was one of the reasons the Inigo was chosen. Not a fan of the front entrance being up so many steps though.
The main front door location was a bit troublesome to locate at first, as we got dropped off at the main taxi rank in Alberfeira Old Town. Apart from that, there was much not to dislike about the Hotel Indigo, the staff or anything really.
Love the design of the hotel. Location was excellent and in walking distance of everything. Staff were extra friendly and couldn't help enough.
The location is excellent. We have a superior room and it was fabulous
There isn’t anything
Lovely hotel! It is right in the thick of Old Town Albufeira but the hotel supplies earbuds - not that we needed them! The noise didn’t wake us once! Breakfast was amazing! Lovely food and drinks. Hotel, rooms and pool are spotlessly clean. Pool bar drinks and menu also great. Would recommend and return
The property was so central with the front opening onto the old town and the back right beside the beach. The bed was so comfortable and the room had everything you need (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hairdryer, robe for the spa, coffee machine & fridge) Rooms were cleaned every day, the sun-beds had mattresses, for comfort when sunbathing. Spa was lovely and a great addition. We didn’t hear noise from our room either. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags and still use the facilities, check in wasn’t until 3.00 but they gave us our key at 1.00
The check in area was a bit small and nowhere to sit when busy.
Odor in room unbearable
Smell. Location bad for no front door. Car access via back lane
Room wasn’t available until 4 checked in at 12.45 was only there 2 nights
Location, staff and facilities were excellent
The layout of the hotel was a bit confusing but the staff helped out
