Nice rooms,spacious, reception staff friendly. Close to city centre

On Saturday a 1 hour wait for food in the bar and one of our friends who arrived a half an hour later than us got his meal first. Also barman said he had no wine glasses so just served the wine in an ordinary glass. Shortly after someone wheeled a trolly of wine glass by us on a trolly.that needed cleaning but we were never asked about a glass change afterwards. Also one of the bar staff kept coming over checking were we finished our meal to take away our plates.

Not far from Derby city centre. Liked that you had a window that you could open. I do not like this air con rooms where you cannot open a window. We paid for breakfast which was lovely.

We had a room overlooking the back so view could have been better. Road was noisy if you kept the window open so had to close it.

Used the hotel many times. Perfect location for The Flowerpot Venue. Staff always great .

Not a far walk from town, reception was bright and clean. Room was nice enough, bed very comfortable, had everything I needed. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, held bags for me while I looked around town before check in. The staff at breakfast were very attentive and quick to clear and clean tables.

Due to the shower heads being fixed to the wall I think the cleaning staff struggle to clean the tubs properly, found a pube in my bathtub so it put me off having a nice relaxing bath. Room service was not great, due to a tour group coming in (which I understand had them rushed off their feet in the restaurant) I couldn’t get through often and when I did it took over an hour and me chasing them up and reception to get my food which ended up tasting like a ready meal curry and pizza dough breads as “naans” it all cost £26 with a drink. Better off ordering uber eats and picking up from the lobby. The breakfast was also mid but had good selection. The aircon panel also didn’t appear to work in my room I forgot to report it though so that’s on me.

The staff member who checked us in was cheerful and welcoming. The price was really good value, and the breakfast options were great. The addition of hash browns as a breakfast option would be good in future.

It was all good. There is nothing to dislike. I look forward to coming back next year.

- The service in the restaurant was awful. We had to stand at the bar for 20min to order and once food was ordered it took 1hour 30 minutes to arrive. When it did arrive it was incorrect. Everyone else at the table has finished their meal before mine even arrived. There was 1 staff member behind the bar who was doing a good job and was very pleasant but was completely let down by management who had clearly not detailed enough staff. When the manager finally showed her face her apology seemed extremely and she tried to blame her staff when it was very clearly a management issue for not detailing enough staff on. The manager herself did not offer any refund herself. She eventually sent a staff member out to offer a free desert however considering we had already waited so long for food it was far past the time this would be wanted. The next morning the manager was on the desk at check out and again tried to imply it was the staffs fault and was almost checking up on their ability and questioning me about them. She was advised it was not the staffs fault that they had been put in an unfair position with not enough staff. - cleanliness of room was poor, thick dust and cobwebs on ceiling, splatters on bathroom wall, smeared windows. - constant problem with keys to rooms not working and having to go up and down numerous times to get this fixed. Even after getting it fixed and walking straight to room with it away from phone etc it still didn’t work and again had to go down. Repeatedly happened with all our group. - parking situation is very poor, limited spaces and charged for parking - mattress was so old that it collapsed in the middle, would be impossible to sleep with two people in it.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was also very handy for getting into the city centre. The facilities in the room were everything you could need during your stay. The complimentary vouchers were well-received.

There wasn't enough staff on the bar in the evening meaning quite a long wait for a drink. The TV in the room had various problems such as the sound breaking often and some channels being so distorted you ended up looking at a broken screen.

I like everything about that place although it was just 1 nite . Also its in a very nice location also i enjoyed the breakfast would visit again

The location was central and the downstairs reception and communal areas were modern. There was a powerful shower and toiletries available.

The room was very dated and bland, the TV didn’t work, the bed creaked and the pillows were uncomfortable. Someone called the phone in my room in the middle of the night and didn’t speak, which woke me up. I felt the food was expensive for what it was. Sorry, disappointed.

Staff were friendly and welcoming , we were given a complimentary drink and a brownie bite on arrival which was a nice touch. The room was clean and spacious and had everything we needed for a night's stay including a kettle tea, coffee and biscuits.

The fire alarms went off early in the morning, which apparently was a sensor but I had to ask as no explanation or apology was given. Also breakfast was poor as they couldn't keep up with high demand and the breakfast items had run out. We didn't see any berries etc for yogurt on melon apples and pears. Very poor choice of gluten free items, only corn flakes available, no bread whatsoever, maybe this hadn't been replaced. The almond milk was very syrupy and sweet, and a very strong taste of marzipan (I'm used to unsweetened). Maybe this would have been better at least busy times. It could have done with a brighter light above the dressing table to allow me to do my makeup but the bathroom was bright enough.

Beds were on the small side for a double and mattress wasn’t the comfiest. Would suggest opting for an executive room if taller/ sharing bed. Shower gel not refilled when we checked into room and was empty. The lighting in the room itself wasnt great but not a big issue. At the buffet breakfast there were no sausages left at only 9am and took 30 mins or so to be replenished which was poor when paying for breakfast. Seemed to take a while for staff to notice food was running out at the buffet or not organised well enough for busy weekends

A lovely outside area for drinks as well as inside too. Easy access to all floors via 3 lifts. Staff were very helpful in all areas of the hotel. Breakfast was substantial and easy accessible with a great variety of foods. Parking in Chapel Street car park was great for access to the hotel, only a couple of minutes walk and a fabulous price of only £4.65 for an overnight stay as long as you validate the parking ticket at the hotel.

I loved my stay at the hotel but I still think there should be stairs or elevator that link the car park to the hotel that is accessing the lobby from the car park.

The fact that after parking the car in the car park i had to walk down the street to get to the counter or lobby.

Guy on reception was very helpful and friendly (didn’t see his name but of possible eastern origins) - fabulous. Bedroom mostly great and shower great too.

Pillows were too hard and a fire alarm at 6:30 am meant disturbed sleep and trapsing downstairs in pyjamas. My floor (7) and some others heard a message saying fire alarm please evacuate but those in floor three heard no message. Car park is tiny and hard to manoeuvre

Everything about the place as this was our 3rd stay and wouldn't stay anywhere else. Staff and amenities were absolutely fantastic. 5**** Highly recommend.

Easy to find

The building is surrounded by busy highways, so it’s very noisy until midnight. I can’t sleep well. And they charge parking fee for guests using their own car park.

Excellent value for money hotel, the rooms are big and spacious, comfortable bed , excellent bathroom facilities, very close to all the local shops, bars and restaurants, we really enjoyed our stay there.

Mouldy stained mattress. Room not prepared for 3 guests as booked. Had to ask for sheets, dluvet and pillows for the sofa bed. As the bed wasn't made up I got the pleasure of seeing the horrendous stained mattress underneath. They have convenience items behind the front desk. I don't know why they feel the need to have tampons etc on display when you check in. It's handy they have such items but it let's the hotel down. The window in our room was broke, busy traffic outside and couldn't close the window Carpet was sticky to walk on I didn't have breakfast but my family did. They said it was awful. I was grateful I hadn't booked onto it from their feedback Car park spaces are very limited. If you park the car you struggle to get out of car as spaces so narrow.

This is a fabulous hotel.My sister and I were in derby for her birthday weekend celebrations including attending Concert by candlelight(David Bowie) on thurs evening🙂The staff were excellent from the start,polite and sooooo helpful.When we arrived at our room we had obviously been upgraded,also we were given complimentary celebration drink vouchers AND not only that the room had been decorated with birthday ballons,a lovely birthday message on our mirror,welcome birthday gifts and sweets.It made for a truly special stay and cannot praise the Leonardo Hotel highly enough.THANK YOU SO MUCH from myself and my sis ❤️

Great location in the Cathedral quarter and close to the city centre. All staff were friendly and attentive, with spacious and comfortable bedrooms. Plenty of choice for breakfast. I’ve enclosed views from my 6th floor bedroom!

I had bed bug bites from staying here all over my bum and legs Rooms old fashioned and dated a lot of wear and tear Double Beds small more like a 3/4 Expensive for what you got Road noise loud and windows all dirty Was charged for water bottles for the room in the evening as we didn’t have any when we arrived and I don’t like drinking tap water.

Getting a parking fine despite paying for parking at the hotel. I still haven't had a reply from the hotel yet so I'm not sure why it happened, perhaps the car registration was taken down incorrectly by the receptionist but I would have expected an immediate reply to help resolve the situation, especially as they are using a third party car parking company.

Great location and very quiet at night. The air conditioning was much appreciated, especially during the hot weather. Breakfast was really nice, with a great selection, and I loved that it was served until 11am at the weekend. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful.
