Room clean and comfortable. Good shower. Beer from bar was good but expensive. Excellent breakfast.

Hotel was very quiet and decor felt a bit tired.

Ik had een single room op de tweede verdieping, niet groot, maar goed Ingedeeld en perfect voor wat ik nodig had. De rust beviel me. Ik kon met het raam open slapen. Het ontbijt was heel goed en de staf vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam.

Een minpuntje was het lawaai in de dining room tijdens het diner. Niet echt sfeervol.

Staff in the morning were clearly understaffed and we felt like an inconvenience during breakfast as a result. The lady serving was obviously understaffed pressure and unfortunately she let everyone trying to enjoy their breakfasts know about it. Which was a real shame as the staff that checked us in and served us drinks the evening before were very friendly and welcoming.

The staff were tremendous. The food both in the evening and morning at breakfast were delicious. The room (number 10) though small was ideal for a solo traveller. Plenty of off road parking Ideal for the Castle and town by foot.

Bathroom - very out dated and in need of refurbishment. Though scrupulously clean and large soft towels provided. Lots of very hot water. But shower was a climb into bath type and weak in volume. Shower curtain clean but old and badly faded. No shelving for own toiletries to be placed on. Settee in room had missing/broken springs and groaned when sat upon.

Breakfast was excellent, a good selection of choice on the menu.

A lovely bed and breakfast, with a cozy single room that included views of the castle. I stay in Ludlow for a night on a train journey through England, and this inn was an excellent choice. The breakfast was very good, warm and filling. Ludlow itself is charming and definitely worth the visit.

The room was adequate but could do with updating as it had woodchip wallpaper. The walls seemed very thin. I could hear the person in the room nextdoor talking, snoring and their phone pinging every time they had a notification.

Room was very compact situated over outside area where one could smoke which wafted into the room. Almost impossible to watch TV, if one wanted to due to lack of space.

The location was quiet and lovely surroundings. It was only a short 1 night stay as we where passing through and the staff when we arrived where lovely and welcoming. Rooms where clean and very comfortable and a lovely shower which we needed after our long days driving. Breakfast we had a good choice from full English plenty of toast yes and coffee or fruit yogurts cereals. Would recommend and would use again

Breakfast was good as was the location. Assistance that was offered by reception staff to help carry our bags upstairs to our room when we arrived at the Hotel was appreciated.

Insulation between bedroom walls could be improved. This would prevent loud snoring from adj rooms possibly being transmitted and disrupting guest's sleep.

Location with view of castle was excellent. Breakfast and service were to expected standard. The room and shower room were unexpectedly small but the large bed was comfortable. Would have appreciated bottled water in the room, especially given hot weather.

We loved sue who really made an effort to help us and feel welcome,the room was a good size with a nice bed and a great bath and shower.nothing was too much trouble to replace when we ran short of tea and milk etc.Free parking was great and the breakfast in the morning was delicious.If you are going to Ludlow castle to see a concert this hotel is literally a 10 minute walk to the castle along a lovely country lane and over a river.

The price was a little steep for 1 night and that's probably down to there being a concert on so I would like to think the price is lower when it's a regular day.

We love The Cliffe for it's location. Quiet but within a short distance from the town. Staff here are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. They really understand food allergies and Intolerances here.

The lack of air-conditioning in the rooms is a drawback but it's an old building and the fan supplied was OK for the first night but second night was hotter so not really very helpful.

Evening meal and breakfast were first class. My husband does love a fry-up breakfast when he’s away, and it was a 10 out of 10 from him! Local Hobsons beer was good too. Everyone at the hotel were very welcoming and efficient.

Beautiful location, short walk to Ludlow made it ideal to attend local event All staff extremely friendly and helpful thank you , that is always appreciated. Lovely breakfast. Room very clean and tidy.

Whilst room was described as deluxe , it was very nice, however lacked some of the extras we would have expected especially for the cost of the room. We had to request additional toiletries for shower as only supplied one small bottle for 2 of us - staff were very happy to help with this thank you. Water and a fan would have been appreciated as stay during very hot weather and room we stayed in was separate to hotel and reception closed when we returned. Sadly TV signal was also very poor so unable to watch same not that this was a big issue for an overnight stay.

Lovely hotel, staff were excellent friendly and helpful. The location suited us perfectly. Nice 10min walk into centre of town. Nice and quiet in the night . The bed was especially comfortable, we had the cottage with patio doors. Lovely big room with plenty of space for dog bed . Great for taking dog for late toilet and early morning, straight out onto leafy lane .

The only downfall for a dog owner was we couldn't find any bin for dog waste, and had to walk up towards town for nearest one .

Staff had told us we could access the rooms as they were ready and then we were told we couldn't . V limited fans available for the rooms that required them , we were on top floor in a twin with windows that barely opened. Hotel not v helpful when we asked for a breakfast we could take with us (banana and boiled eggs) as on bikes we needed to leave before 6 to beat the heat and be able to get to our destination p0

Peaceful and relaxing Location

The sense you were given the bare minimum that they could get away with. Controlled quantities of things eg one small bottle of orange juice between two or one slice of toast In addition our tea was served in a teapot covered in dust so thick you could write in it. Staff removing umbrellas and cushions at the first available opportunity which made you feel you were out staying your welcome

Friendly staff , great location

Wasps in the bedroom and bathroom, there must've been a nest nearby. Hence a bad night's sleep and wife was frightened of going to the toilet. At our evening meal my wife's Greek salad was served in a cereal bowl , just cucumber, olives , half a small tomato and 3 small pieces of feta cheese all smothered in a dressing. . When I spoke to the staff about these matters there was no mention of compensation or apologies .

The location was good. The breakfast portions varied. Fruit salad and yoghurt was bigger the first morning, and was the full english bigger the second morning.

The attic room was like an oven. We requested a fan. The window blinds were too thin and scorched by the sun. There was a silverfish in the bathroom. The bathroom needs updating.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. It’s in a nice peaceful location but still just a short walk to the town.

We stayed in the cottage to the rear of the hotel. We could use the hotel facilities while appreciating the quiet location of the cottage. Being on the ground floor was a bonus because of mobility issues. The hotel is dog friendly and it was great to see that the dogs and owners had their breakfast in a separate room.

We waited at least 5 minutes at the bar late afternoon to order a coffee. The person who had been serving behind the bar was located in the kitchen doing various jobs. Maybe an extra member of staff would have been helpful.

It was the perfect location for us as it was a lovely walk along the lane back into Ludlow. A lovely breakfast served to the table and it was hot.

The location was excellent as it was just outside of the town centre. After eating in the town , it was a lovely 15 minute walk along the lane over the river with fantastic views of the castle along the way. The room and bathroom were very clean. Service was excellent throughout our stay and the breakfast was top notch. We will definitely aim to stay here again.

Due to us staying during a heatwave and the room being on the top floor, it would have been greatly beneficial to have a fan provided in the room. ( Fortunately we had brought our own) .

Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in a twin room which was of adequate size for us as we like to be out and about and we don't spend much time in the room. We had a very good breakfast, and again, the staff were very helpful at all times. The hotel is within walking distance of the town centre. Some of the walk does include walking up hill so some may find this difficult.

My husband found the mattress too hard but we were both struggling to sleep due to the heatwave. Air conditioning would have been a welcome addition.

Room was at the top of the building, only 1 small opening window, no air conditioning and no fan in the room. Had breakfast in the conservatory, very warm, no overhead fan and no open windows, too warm.

Op Booking.com wordt het veel mooier voorgesteld dan de werkelijkheid is , namelijk 4 sterren. Wij hadden een de luxe kamer voor 2 nachten voor €315 geboekt en het was nog niet eens een standaard kamer, een bed een klein bankje in de hoek, schuin dak. De receptioniste wilde nergens aan meewerken ook niet nadat Booking 2 x telefonisch contact had opgenomen. Om onze leuke vakantie niet te laten bedreven door deze slechte ervaring zijn wij weggegaan en een ander hotel geboekt. Dit was een 3 sterren hotel in de buurt maar was stukken beter dan dit 4 sterren hotel. Van Booking heb ik nog een kleine tegemoetkoming gekregen maar het heeft ons wel extra geld gekost. Mijn advies is om dit hotel zeker niet te boeken en een andere beter hotel uit te zoeken. 4 sterren zijn 2 sterren teveel en de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding klopt zeker niet.

We stayed in a room in the chalet in the grounds which was perfectly fine apart from one suggestion - the blinds & curtains were too light for us. The room was lit up the moment the sun shone - waking up at 05:30 in a room bathed in light made sleeping difficult.

Not really a hotel its a restaurant with rooms so so bar on site once the staff have left around 10.00pm
