The decor down stairs was nice.
Long dreary corridor and 12 steps to get to the room. Staff were putting clean bedding on the carpet while getting more out of cupboards? We arrived early for check in, but 40 minutes after check in time we got a room. Bathroom needs re grouting bottom of shower and all the floor needs doing as well, lets the place down. I asked for scrambled egg and a sausage , received the smallest portion of eggs I’ve ever seen, I asked for more hot tea as it had gone cold waiting for the food, the guy put another tea bag in the small tea pot and topped it up, so wasn’t hot but strong, I still had cold tea in the cup he didn’t bring another, poor service. Had a very nice evening meal another hotel near by thankfully. £7.50 for parking in their car park was steep, wouldn’t stay here again.
The hotel is like stepping back in time!
Check in was at 3pm , however our room was not ready until 4pm. We had to wait an hour, they did provide a complementary drink.
Beautiful historic building, with fantastic rooms (252). Great, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Only ate light bites from the bar menu, so can’t speak for restaurant, but these were great. Free on site parking in the heart of Ludlow, which itself is a beautiful historic town
Nothing.
The staff & manager were extremely welcoming & helpful. My room was very clean & comfortable. The restaurant was spacious & comfortable. The hotel is very conveniently located for the town centre & of course has a lot of atmosphere. The hotel is very dog friendly
Overall, no problems.
Near everything beautiful building
Nothing
Amazing historic building, smack in the centre of the town. Very nice food. Friendly staff.
Accessible room hardly big enough to fit a wheelchair, though bathroom was good and really hot, with a very tricky window that could hardly be opened. Wine list really quite disappointing. Nothing even close to decent.
Location is great, room was clean and well cared for.
Parking has to be paid for and is very tight.
Very good location lovely hotel but parking very limited Staff very friendly and attentive but seemed to work long hours doing different jobs a few looked very tired.but it did not affect their good service
The restaurant menu was very limited only 6 items on main course two with garlic and two vegetarian didn't enjoy the meal at all only ate one mouthful each we were offered alternative but didn't fancy anything the restaurant had a very strong fish smell only ate cheese and biscuits were given £13 discount about 25,% Bit slow on reception a few mix ups with bookings and payments.
Perfect location Very beautiful old building Onsite parking

Attractive building from outside, friendly staff
Dirty dusty room, lots of noise from pub opposite until very late on Saturday night.meaning no sleep, ill fitting secondary glazing dangerous to try to open or close. Expensive.
The hotel has nice character and the staff were friendly. The location is good and is literally in the town.
Unfortunately, our room had a slight sewage smell (which staff were very helpful with and gave us free drinks for our troubles as there were no free rooms). The room was very hot. Breakfast was just ok. Generally the hotel was ok, but I would say it is more a nice 3 star than 4 star.
Breakfast good. Selection of fruit cereal etc. Hot food served to order. Service quick. Staff friendly. Restaurant food good.
Tight parking. Once parked didn't dare leave for the day in case you couldn't get parked up again. Entrance particularly tight but can blame the hotel for that
Fascinating historic hotel, well modernised in appropriate style. Comfortable smart room with good bathroom and amenities. Very nice dinner, continental breakfast choice was a bit disappointing for hotel of this quality. Good choice of cooked breakfast to order. Friendly staff, On site parking (limited).
No warning that despite a lift, there were still a lot of stairs to navigate to our room due to the nature of the building. Since we had previously asked about Blue Badge parking, this was a surprise. Reception Louise apologised profusely and did her best to help.and
A beautiful hotel staff very friendly and went out of their way to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Hotel very clean car park facilities were very good we will definitely return. We would recommend this hotel to other customers ask to speak to Louise on reception and she will make sure you have a pleasant stay. Thanks to all the staff. Suzanne and Ray Swan.
Very old property that is beautifully kept original and clean. Some people might say that the floors creak, all I say is if you were 400 years old you would creak. It’s part of the charm.

Beautiful hotel. Friendly and welcoming staff. Great breakfast.
Nothing
Breakfast was very good always hot and a good selection. Location very good.
Only thing which we weren’t happy with was the tables in the dining room always felt very sticky even though they were wiped.
The location was ideal for exploring Ludlow. The hotel is right in the heart of the town centre and a short walk from the castle and the thriving food culture.
Room 252 (£230 per night). Some may be put off by the noise from the pub across the road that opens till the wee hours of the morning. Please note, your room isn’t serviced unless you ask reception to service it and then you have to specify exactly what you require. On arrival our room was not very clean. The floor hadn’t been hoovered, cobwebs on the curtain pelmets etc. Facilities wise, the WiFi was great but the mattress was very soft and pillows were uncomfortable and all were beyond their serviceable life (despite there being 6 to choose from). The room lacked any cushions and soft furnishings to make it feel homely /comfortable. The seat booths we were sat in at breakfast had previous diners food on the seats. Cleaning regime just needs to be upgraded. We had exceptional service from Taylor and Aston and many other members of the team. Some staff would benefit from refresher training.
Didn't have breakfast
Television not working due to flat battery in the remote control. Initially charged us for a meal we didnt have.
Very atmospheric hotel with lots of fascinating history. Wonderful building. The breakfast was good.
The hotel being very ancient, our bedroom (Classic Queen room) was cramped, although the bathroom was quite spacious. We had to put a bag down in front of the exit as there was nowhere else to put it (apart from the bathroom!). It was a warm night and there was a fan, but we were too hot to sleep well. The mattress was comfortable to lie on, but the edges were soft, so it would be fine for someone on their own but with two, it was easy to roll out. I was worried about leaving the window open as it was accessible from the nearby fire escape. Our friend and I both had undercooked cod for dinner, so we could only eat the outside of it, but when we raised this, they apologised and we were given a discount on the meal. I would stay again, but not in that type of room.
Good room space , nice staff , good value
No drinking water in room or bath robe

Lovely quaint English village
Super interesting architecture of lovely old building steeped in history
Location
Noise from street
Breakfast staff were lovely
Poor cleanliness. Rooms not serviced even when requested. Reception staff uninterested, cleaning staff rude.
Charming felt nice well cared for
Only point would say is breakfast area is a little squashed
Nydelig gammelt hotell :) Veldig sentralt. Nydelig frokost. Flott rom . Bakgård hvor du kan ta med deg en drink fra baren .
Everything beyond expectation
Nothing very fortunate
I liked the old building and it's perfect location in town centre. Staff was friendly and responded quickly.
Room and hotel overall needs a lot of TLC. Tiles in our bathroom were moving and they lack some grouting. There were cobwebs everywhere in the corners. Staff didn't hoover the room properly because we could see a lot of dust for example underneath the luggage stand. All facilities were old and used.
Full of character
Nothing really
Excellent location with parking. Lovely clean and bright shower en suite.
We knew room 213 was ‘cosy’ - which was fine, but a shelf and light with a charging point on both sides of the double bed would have been useful.
Traditional but with modern twist Centrally located
Everything our room was noisy in am though because of refuse collection out on street but no complaints otherwise
As above
Check in and out quick and easy, friendly young man on reception checked us in and out. Absolutely stunning building so much character. Room pleasant enough for price. Twice bumped into older maintenance man on our landing, two great chats with him. Very funny and friendly. Will definitely book again if in area. Can't comment on food or drink as didn't use, but bar area looked very nice.

Our room was stunning, much larger than we expected with an exceptional bathroom. We had dinner in the restaurant and were very impressed with the quality of the food.
There was nothing we didn’t like.
Hotel structure , area is lovely
Hotel lady receptionist wasn't very helpful the older came to help and he was fine
Location and friendly staff.
Overpriced, difficult to find / access hotel car park and breakfast average at best.
Lovely old, historical, building. Been meaning to stay here for a while. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Comfy bed. Staff were great, looked after our bags after checkout. Food was lovely too.
No hairdryer in room, which I didn’t realise until after I’d washed my hair.
Central, beautiful building
Breakfast very poor quality, coffee not good. Room very, very noisy and very hot.
Everything was fa6

Great hotel with helpful staff and excellent food
The arch at the entrance to the car park is narrow and awkward to turn into from a busy street. It was also suddenly dark after the sunny street. We scraped the car slightly on a concrete conical bulge at the base of the arch which was only painted bright yellow on top, so that we couldn’t see that the base widened further.
The accommodation was excellent.
The hot buffet breakfast was disappointing, most of the items had run out. The dinner menu was very limited.
The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Ludlow. Large, convenient public car park just behind the hotel if their car park is full. We found every member of staff to be very friendly and welcoming, and the hotel lounge with bar was very comfortable and relaxing after a day out. We really lucked out with our room, a junior suite, which was huge and beautifully decorated with a massive, super comfortable bed. Bathroom with his and her sinks, walk in shower and bath. Modern and spotlessly clean. Very quiet, despite the busy road outside, and we had two very good sleeps. We had a delicious Sunday roast and very good breakfasts. Would stay here again without considering any other hotel, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a contemporary hotel, in a historic building, modernised but with traditional standards. Loved it!
Everything was perfect for us, absolutely nothing negative to say.
Fantastic building, great staff, clean snd comfortable. In a great location.
The hotel was great but was let down very much by the restaurant. The food wasn’t good and the evening service was terrible.
Beautiful building, perfect location, spotlessly clean. Staff were all polite. Loved the whole experience.
Everything was great, not got one complaint.
Location was excellent
Fire alarm going off twice during the night
The hotel is in the centre of town with a bar and various seating areas. Our room was basic but spacious and clean.
The history and quirkiness
The sound level from the next door room because there was an adjoining door (locked) but the person in the next room had a very persistent cough which was very audible in our room
A beautiful building, lots of history. Everywhere was really clean, lovely bar area, super helpful staff and a great location to explore Ludlow.
Nothing
The hotel was very clean and a brilliant location in the centre of Ludlow
Excellent location in the centre of Ludlow. The hotel staff are all welcoming and helpful.
The room was very nice with the nicest bathroom of the trip so far. The room was a bit small but also nice.
Breakfast was an extra charge and seemed a bit costly so we skipped it. Found plenty of alternatives nearby, although they didn't open until 9 am.
Great location, staff great too as was the food, onsite parking is a bonus
Only thing was the lack of cold water from the tap in the bathroom, I don't care for brushing my teeth with warm water
Huge spacious room with air conditioning They put up an extra bed for our granddaughter at short notice. We arrived late and were lucky to get the last parking space.
Cant fault anything
Friendly staff, lovely hotel, great location.
The fridge in our room didn't work. We reported it but it was never lokked at/repaired/changed. Minor problem, but we may have liked to have bought some lovely cheeses etc. to take home.
Was a great location very convience for the concert.
They didn´t exlain the breakfast need to be paid apart. Also they charge you a 50 pounds before they give you the room just in case.
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom modern and clean. I was able to find different channels on the television, in some hotels you can't. I was glad of the lift as I would never have found my way around otherwise. Interesting, quirky building.
I booked online. I received a telephone call from the hotel the day before asking all sorts of unnecessary questions. I said I had been contemplating having breakfast, but not sure. The person on the phone wanted to take the money off my card. was furious and fearful. I have not given permission for anyone to retain my credit card details. She also said that I had said I would have breakfast at 7.30. I said that was not the case, I would never have said that whatever time I had to leave. She insisted that I had said I would have breakfast at 7.30 and it would have turned out to be a mighty row if I hadn't had to get ready for work. When I arrived the reception staff weren't exactly welcoming and seemed annoyed that I had asked if there was a possibility of checking in 15 minutes early. I was having a drink with a guest in the bar area so I wasn't bothered, but I wasn't impressed by the attitude.
All of the hotel was lovely

Location
We were in room 213 which should have been a single To small but a good bathroom.
Very nice place to stay but rooms particularly accessible for people with mobility issues. Dinner very good.
Service at breakfast could be improved- a bit of a wait to get coffee and then get order taken. Being charged at dinner £9 for a single scoop of ice cream. Hotel could see the unreasonableness of this.
No parking available
Very impressed, I have booked for xmas
Location superb, although you could hardly see out of the windows for the dirt and cobwebs. The bed was very comfortable despite the very warm weather. The position in respect of the town centre was very nice, the car park was tiny and rammed most of the time. The one saving grace there were the staff, they were very pleasant and helpful where possible but even that high did not drag the accommodation and kitchen issues to acceptable.
Breakfast was awful - we left most of it as it was cooked to destruction, eggs were more hard boiled than poached - I doubt that morning they had a qualified chef in the kitchen. The evening meal on the first evening was over £350 and it was again awful, five of us had eaten the whole main items, BEFORE the arrival of the vegetables and side dishes arrived - and then it was only as I was getting up to leave that they arrived. Needless to say they were deleted from the bill, but we were not offered any further reduction on the meal price, no free dessert or free wine to reduce our anger as it was a family meal and we do not all get together that often. Totally ruined what could have been a wonderful evening. The bedroom had an en-suite bathroom with no windows, and it was really hot that weekend it was difficult to sleep. Floor in the bathroom required attention, no grout between the floor tiles, massive damage marks on the paint and woodwork. Generally quite scruffy throughout
Location and helpful desk lady Louise who was able to provide extra fan as the room was very hot
Small balconies linked together and open stairs into car park a clear security problem We were charged for another guests bill which was passed off as small mistake also not helpful when enquired about refund
The bed was amazing so comfy and loads of space the air conditioning came in very handy throughout our stay going in to the heatwave
The property is beautiful love the architecture and the history I even bought the book on the history
We were upgraded to a lovely and spacious suite. Breakfast was good.
We opted for an evening meal in the lounge. As the weather was very hot weather we both chose Greek Salad. This was disappointing and very poor value for money. It mainly consisted of lettuce, olives with hardly any feta cheese and no tomatoes.
Characterful Comfortable Clean
The Christmas tree up in the summer!! Ridiculous!
Care taken with the little details. A sympathetic mix of medieval and contemporary.
Our room smelt of raw sewage, the food was very poor. The staff were great despite everything. They took £100 of log the bill but quite frankly we should have had a full refund

Building looked nice from the outside and staff were helpful when we informed them our room had no duvet.
The rooms weren’t ready upon arrival, once we got up stairs there was piles of bedsheets in the hallways. Our room had no duvet on the bed and it hadn’t been hoovered. You could tell it hadn’t been dusted in a very long time. Thick dust in very visible places and dead flies in the window sill. Disappointed overall, was expecting better. Breakfast wasn’t much better and we had to book our time slot a few days in advance.
An authentic old coaching inn in the beautiful town of Ludlow, which apart from the castle is full of beautiful old houses and quaint streets.
We didn't have the breakfast, but did have an evening meal which was very good. The restaurant staff were excellent - attentive, warm and efficient
The receptionist could do with a charm lesson. Not very friendly but seemed to be supervised by someone else who was rather more welcoming. The room and in particular the bed were very comfortable - but being at the front with the window open meant that we were exposed to noise from revellers until 1 am.
All the staff were so welcoming & friendly & helpful . Lou & Belinda in the restaurant really helped me with my food allergies/intolerance issue
The check in time was too busy and had to wait quite a long time until room was ready - arrived at 3:30 … after very long journey Feel the restaurant needs to be more geared up to cater for the common food intolerances - gluten & dairy - menu very difficult for this atm as no simple fresh foods on it like steak , chops, simple fish . Lou sorted it for the 2nd night which was great .
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff here make this hotel and attention to detail is amazing. Louise took note of our anniversary and we were greeted with ‘happy anniversary’ as we checked in. Our room was made very special, even a special card left for us in the room and a complimentary drink voucher. Such special touches and I’ve never stayed anywhere that felt so personalised. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard. You really make this hotel a gem
Nothing
staff welcoming and friendly
Central location, good food and large comfortable bedroom.
Breakfast waiter needs some training / mentoring. He didn't explain how breakfast worked and was off like a shot after showing us to our table, without asking if we wanted a cooked breakfast (which we did).
Beautiful building and very central. Lovely staff and delicious breakfast.
Bedroom unbearably hot. Window only opened 2 inches. Fan pointless. Dirty windows and extractor fan in bathroom covered in fluff.
Fabulous historic building in the centre of Ludlow
Breakfast service slow on both mornings we were there. Mix up with evening meal arrangements - was told on checkin that we didn't need to book only to find that restaurant was full with coach tour. Particularly disappointing as we were celebrating a special occasion. Mitigated somewhat by serving us in a separate room with complimentary fizz
Room was lovely, big, brd very comphy, food delicios staff excelent decor great
Pillow bit hard & gave me neck ache but im use to having soft pillows,be nice yo have a bottlr of water in room on arrivial
Old and traditional hotel
No air conditioning
Nice hotel, good courtyard and location
We visited on the ludlow Castle concert weekend. There were not enough staff on. The bar was very busy and long queues.. however the lady behind bar was doing her best but she needed more support from her colleagues. Breakfast was awkward with lifting metal lids and trying to serve food onto our plates.
Excellent location, enthusiastic staff, generous and comfortable bedroom, good breakfast, real character property.
Only complaint - welcome email said there was a car park, but didn't say how to get into it. This was difficult to spot from the street while driving in an unfamiliar town.
The staff were so friendly.
Old & Wonky, full of character
Nothing, it was fabulous!
Breakfast was very nice. I wish I had noticed that booking breakfast the night before would have given me a reduced price.
We liked everything.
My partner and I booked a room to stay here, but on arrival we were told we had booked two rooms. It quickly became clear that this was a mistake caused by the hotel and Booking.com. We were assured that we would not be charged for the second room, as we had neither booked nor used it. We stayed in the one room we had intended to book, trusting the manager to resolve the issue with the duplicate booking. Unfortunately, that never happened. Despite numerous emails and phone calls—almost all initiated by me, with very little effort from the hotel—the manager refused to issue a refund. Booking.com advised that the hotel needed to process the refund because they had incorrectly marked us as a "no-show" for the second room. Even though we provided proof that we had never booked or occupied that room, the hotel still refused to refund us. To make matters worse, the manager was extremely unprofessional, openly criticising Booking.com and telling us they were "useless" and made these mistakes all the time. Regardless of where the error originated, the hotel failed to take responsibility or help resolve the situation. The room we did stay in also had a missing window pane, yet we were never offered an alternative room. Overall, I am now £117 out of pocket because of a booking error that was not my fault. There was no apology, no accountability, and no satisfactory resolution. I would not recommend staying here based on this experience.
Lovely staff and beautiful buliding

Location and facilities good most of the staff very friendly and helpful
Lack of communication from lady on reception when our room wasn't ready at check-in time and poor choice of meals on the evening menu in the restaurant
Location excellent, quaint, lovely features in hotel.
Disappointed with the room for the price we paid. Very expensive rate for such a small room, very poor value for money. Well below the standard we expected.
I chose the Feathers due to its location ,which was perfect . Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, which in this day and can be a challenge ,always a great positive for me when travelling , this can sometimes cover for the negatives . Some good little add ons ,if you were staying for Live at Ludlow .
I thought the cost of the room seemed a tad expensive ,considering breakfast wasn't included and also at first I believed the parking was chargeable. However it is summer and make hay when the sun shines ! The Bathroom tiles had a lot of grout missing from them ,which didn't look great
We stayed for 1 night and found or welcome so nice and polite, the receptionist was so cheerful and pleasent to us, giving us all the information we needed for our stay, the staff who.passed by when we were checking in all said hello and asked how we were, very nice to see the whole team with the same approach to guests. Our room was amazing, spotlessly clean, with all we needed, twin sinks, walkin shower, free standing bath, all clean and in very good condition. We went out to explore Ludlow and on the way out asked a member of staff about the area, she had loads to tell us, where to go with our dog, and what we had to see in this old town. On our return we were greated with another member of staff who we will mention later on, who asked us if we enjoyed our walk around, then asked if we wanted or.needed anything, the whole approach and attitude of the staff was amazing and so polite, they must be happy.in their.jobs to come across so happy, the Manager must be doing a good job, afternoon drinks in the courtyard was relaxing and being enclosed such a suntrap, which we loved. Our meal that evening was some.of.the best meals.out we've had in a long time, the goats cheese balls for starters and fish and chips for main were full of flavour, hot and didn't take long to arrive. The waitress Jess the same member of.staff from earlier was so nice to us, always had a smile, our dog Max who gets nervous in strange places, soon settled in as if at home and took a shine to Jess, they say dogs can tell. The bed was so big and comfy, made is feel like royalty 😁. The breakfast was just right, the full English was so tasty and hot, our overall stay at the feathers was such an amazing stay with amazing staff, the feeling was, that nothing was an effort for the staff, we met the Manager Jason who said he's new to the Feathers and all ready praises his team and is looking forward to developing and seeing his team grow as a family. Such a nice guy. Finally our Dog Max loved every moment of his stay, he was never left out, when we were greated, aways had treats from the staff and had loads of fusses, again he took a shine to Jess who I'm sure he'll be excited to see next time we come back and we definatly will be back for another stay at the Feathers in Ludlow, thank you and you should be a 4 star.
Amazing place, very clean. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely stay. We took our dog with us and wow all staff were brilliant with him, definitely recommend taking your dog there. The room we stayed in was excellent, couldn't of asked for anything better. We had a lovely meal there in the evening, and the service was outstanding. The hotel, the staff, the food, the service, our room, and how dog friendly the place is l would definitely recommend going there. Its a credit to the manager and all his team. Thank you for making us so welcome, we will definitely be back.
The staff notably the lovely lady on reception, car park, lift and sensational room (251) Very nice beer from Ludlow brewery.
No toilet brush. Sausages could've done with a bit longer under the grill!
Location was great. A quirky hotel with parking. Staff all very friendly and helpful.
The Christmas tree being put up in reception and Christmas leaflets in the toilets in July !
We have had a lovely breakfast location ,all the staff are welcoming friendly helpful rooms clean and comfortable food was very nice would recommend to friends .
Breakfast cereals are a little limited and croissants too have had better selections at other hotels
Excellent location and beautiful historic building. Amazing size room! Fantastic service from every member of staff who were all wonderful.
Nothing it was just perfect.
