Location was good but very difficult to park and unload
Only one elevator worked. Two wedding parties staying at hotel caused a large delay
Beds were very comfortable
Coffee maker was missing a piece.
Perfect location and wonderful accommodations I would highly recommend
מלון נקי. מסודר. הכל נראה טוב
אין wi fi חינם במלון.
Proximity to downtown. The professionalism and enthusiasm of the Concierge. The 24 hour garage parking permit for only $15. The ability to check in early if a room was available, which it was (checked in at 2pm instead of 4pm).
One of the bed's sheets were soiled. Pillows were chunky and uncomfortable. The room's motif and atmosphere was bland and impersonal, not very homey or relaxing. Room lighting was very dim. Very skimpy on toiletries amenities. They could have provided mouthwash, a cheap razor, feminine hygiene products, a floss pick. Anything more than a bar of hand soap and cheap moisturizer. No menus for thier restaurants in the room.
Prime location. Within walking distance to many shops and restaurants.
The bar drinks were overpriced. We had much better cocktails at a local bar/restaurant for far less.
Perfecte locatie, in het centrum!!
Geen andere opmerkingen!
It was a very central location. Near to everything.
Some of the staff in the hotel bar and restaurant were very rude and not very accommodating or helpful. We had a family meal in the private room on Saturday the 13th June. The main courses were not very nice and the service was very slow. The amount we paid for the meal was not worth it.
Friendly and clean! Right in the center of town. Close to the market and walking to restaurants.
Parking
My wife and I stayed for two nights. First of all, check-in is no easy task. There is no large Marriott sign letting you know where the hotel is located. You’re driving along a city road, (in the dark), and if you blink, you’ll miss the tiny corner entrance, (which we did). Parking is equally poor. Once you check in, you must drive around the block to the parking garage. Don’t ask them to bundle parking with your room charge as their thermal printer is of such poor quality, the parking garage scanner can’t read the barcode. I was blocking traffic while attempting to get the scanner to read the QR code ticket I received at check in, but it wouldn’t read. I ended up taking a ticket at the booth just so others could enter the garage and subsequently paying the hotel and garage. My wife and I brought two cars and therefore had to pay for four nights of parking. The rooms are marginal at best. The TVs are so old, you lose half the movie if it’s a widescreen format. When it comes to the beds, it appears as though the Marriott is unable to find fitted sheets that actually fit the bed. Each night my wife and I would wake up and realize we were sleeping on the mattress pad instead of the sheet because the fitted sheet had come loose and had slipped to about mid bed. Attempts to put it back in place were fruitless as it would come loose again within minutes. Pro tip, there are sheets especially made for pillow-top mattresses. Having no idea how often mattress pads are washed, it made us wonder what our faces were laying against all night. Don’t try to find any outlets or USB charging ports near your bed. There aren’t any. I travel quite a bit and can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that didn’t have a means to charge electronic devices on the nightstand. Overall, not a great experience.
Hotel is a great location. M lounge has a great variety of food and is a great space. Room was spacious. Front desk check in staff were friendly and inviting. Status was acknowledged. Hotel is very clean and the staff here is kind.
The convenience to city destinations was ideal for walking. The restaurant Plough was magnificent.
The noise at night with a bar outside our room on the rooftop next door and raving cars and motorcycles. Also chiming of a bell tower. The comfort of the bed was ruined by noise. Did not like the long trip to the parking garage multiple times a day.
Pros: Chloe! This girl rocks! Give this girl a job in management. Front desk employees - great. Overall the staff here is amazing. Cons: We stayed in the East Tower for reference. We had a corner suite that overlooked Tellus360 … on a Saturday night. Unless you intend to be up until at least 3am forget about it. Being in a glass box on the 7th floor every motorcycle and car playing loud music reverberates in the room for 15-30 seconds and sounds like it is in the room with you. It was obnoxious and accosting. Then at around 1:30 am it sounded like a riot was going on … and when we looked out the window there were at least (this is not an exaggeration) 100 people milling around the street (cops were called and on the street as well). By 2:30 the streets were cleared and noise settled down. This was especially disappointing because of the exorbitant expense of that room, which they call a suite. There were other issues but I found them less offensive… such as not being able to close and open black out curtains properly. I feel like most people get a hotel room for the purpose to sleep, shower and rest. We got very little sleep & rest here. Side note: the restaurant Plough was very enjoyable. The food was fresh and light.
I only stayed here one night, but I really enjoyed the quiet and comfort of my room. The lobby is spacious and there is a bar, a Starbucks, and a restaurant all awaiting you. The location is very convenient to a host of boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants, and bars.
The location was convenient and the check-in process was straightforward. The lobby and common areas appeared well maintained.
Unfortunately, the room itself was very disappointing. The bathroom was not as clean, the wallpaper was peeling in several areas, and the thermostat did not work properly, making it difficult to keep the room comfortable. Overall, the room felt dated and poorly maintained, especially for a Marriott property.
The staff are super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us. You really do not need to use your car.
Nothing of note
The staff was courageous and well informed about the surroundings and very helpful with checking in. I would definitely recommend this location to all my friends and family who are traveling to the Lancaster area.
Nothing. Everything was spectacular
I stayed here last night on my way home from a trip. The hotel is very nice and clean and the staff is johnny on the spot to help. The parking garage is attached but a block away and they directed me to it along with a card with directions. The location is right downtown and there are lots of shops and places to eat nearby. It has a high end restaurant called Plough and a Starbucks place as well. There are two towers with one being west and the other east. I had a room on the18th floor in the west tower and had a nice view of the square. Everything was nice and clean and I got a good night's rest. I mentioned your wallet in the title and this is because the rate I got was over $450 for one basic room. I am sure they can do this because there likely is no competition downtown. I like the stay however and will now save up my pennies so I can travel again soon.
marriott at Penn Sq , booked weekend 5/13/26 talk about price gouging $500 per night plus fees..I can ocean view rooms for that price… this franchisee Price gouging to extreme! never again
We recently checked in the The Marriott @Penn Square - for my daughters dance competition and I couldn’t be more disappointed. I have a very serious health situation what gets activated a result of an exposure to mold of which I am extremely allergic . After discovering the mold I immediately went to the front desk. The immediately informed me the entire property was sold out and she asked me the best time to send the cleaning staff . I told what time would be best - based on my daughter’s dance schedule and she immediately said the cleaning staff wouldn’t be available at that time . I informed her we paid $500.00 per night ….we were checked in a room that shouldn’t have been available.. I was displaced and had to shower in a friends room and her reply was -NEVER apologizing was …what do you want ? In my profession I always highly recommend Marriott properties because of the quality of service and great customer service care .. to say this property truly disappointed me is an understatement. A sad - disappointed- but loyal Marriott customer!
I didn't buy breakfast
Internet wasn't stable
This was one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in and all of the staff was great thank you we will return.
I recently stayed at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square and had an excellent experience. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff was welcoming and made check-in easy. The room was very clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view of the city was great. Being right in the city means you are within walking distance of so many great restaurants, stores and historical buildings. I also enjoyed the hotel restaurant, Plough. The food was wonderful, and they had a wide variety of drink options.
Quartos amplos, cama confortável, banheiro amplo e com secador, ferro de passar roupa na acomodação.
Beautiful and serene surroundings. Nice amenities.
Nothing
So clean and so nice for the price! LOVED the pool!
Nothing :)
Second time staying here, first time was a better experience. Very well kept in appearance and friendly staff
Do not stay in East wing if possible. Got “upgraded” and the club next door was easily heard until 2am. The bedding was more uncomfortable than previous stay, and the hot tub jets were broken.
Loved the location since we were attending a cheer competition at the convention center, and with it being so cold out, it was a plus to never have to leave the venue. The starbucks in the lobby is nice, and they were prepared for the volume with not really long waits.
couple things we were displeased about: The bathrooms in the convention center and lobby area, were poorly air controlled and not stocked with paper supplies. and the bathrooms lacked cleaniness, with over flowing lobby and bathroom trashcans, and it was 7:30am, like maybe they were short staffed? we were put in the east building in room 366, the floor in the bathroom in bubbling up and just seems very cheap. We checked in around 8:45pm, we were tired from a long day and travel, when we got to our room, with the 2 kids we had traveling with us, we got settled in, and went to lay down around 9:30-10, it seemed that the bar RIGHT OUT OUR WINDOW, was very much lively in their vibe, we understand this, but the bass coming from the music, and the loudness from the sidewalks were very distracting, when calling the front desk, they said there was nothing they could do, and when we said something again at check out, all they offered were extra points to our member card. but $400/a night, you should be able to lay your head down and have peace of mind that you will sleep, and not be kept up by what seemed to be the only three story bar in the town. we did have a sound machine but that also did not help drown out the sound much. Also, when parking our vehicle the front desk sent us to an entrance that was CLOSED and didnt give any other directions about how to get into the parking garage, so after 20 mins of my husband driving around down random streeets, finally found the second OPEN area, that was around the opposite side of the building.
It’s a good hotel
Easy to miss while u look for it while driving They double charge for parking They charge separately for wifi (how ridiculous)
Down town clean spoke English
Nothing
Location was great. Walking distance to many area eats. The morning buffet was well worth the price.
Waiting for the elevator at times was lengthy. Garage parking though convenient was pricey, especially when your hotel ticket didn’t work.
Clean rooms, nice staff
The Starbucks was the only downside. They make you mix your own cream and sugar and if you get an iced drink, it just doesn’t mix tastes horrible. For the price I’m paying, I’d appreciate not having to make my own drink and paying almost $10 for a bad coffee. Also you can never find a trash can, the small ones in the bathroom aren’t enough.
I rarely leave 1-star reviews, but our experience at the Lancaster Marriott during a dance competition was traumatizing for my wife and teenage daughter. On January 2, 2026, my wife’s bag was stolen from the hotel lobby. In addition to her cash, gift cards, and credit cards being taken her car keys were also in the bag, and her car was stolen from the attached garage. The hotel’s “security team” was unhelpful and disengaged. They called the police, but when officers asked about cameras—given the lobby location and where the wallet was found—we were told the hotel required a search warrant for lobby footage. This delay, in our view, gave the thieves a head start. After taking names, security essentially walked away—no concern, no assistance, no follow-up support. For contrast, the Holiday Inn down the street where we ended up staying showed compassion without being asked: a welcome bag, breakfast, and drink vouchers. That’s what caring looks like. When we contacted Marriott (before posting any reviews) their head of security and safety indicated that “because the items were not placed in the care or custody of the hotel” they are not responsible and “while we work cooperatively with the garage operator, access, surveillance, and vehicle activity within the garage fall outside the hotel’s authority.” While I understand the liability concerns on their part, taking zero responsibility for guest’s safety while on premises is not acceptable. No one from the hotel itself, Marriott corporate, or Bonvoy ever reached out to check in our family, provide any follow-up, or even make any attempt to apologize and earn our future business. The hotel hid behind “procedures” and “not our garage,” prioritizing liability over guest safety. No ownership, just deflection. I would recommend you look elsewhere.
Great service
Booked a room to accommodate a family of 6, but upon arrival only had 1 room that fit 4 sleepers. Hotel was overbooked with no rooms available, no cots, airbeds, extra pillows or extra blankets were available. An elevator was out of service our entire stay causing there to be a 30+ minute wait for elevator
Very clean and nice area
The hot tub was not working and pool wasn't clean, and it was cold water for winter time
Todo
La piscina tenia mucho cloro
Location. Good pubs nearby
Parking was at first difficult to find
Great room love the bed in the shower. Good view of the square Starbucks on site nice bar.
Marriott ask you to link your Starbucks app to the hotel and then the Starbucks store does not take your app did not like the hours of the Starbucks Noor did they have hot food. Twin Rivers for breakfast was not our favorite due to the lack of waitresses paid for juice, never got it
The location was excelent
In the room=the pillows were not very comfortable
Nice atmosphere
Nobody told me that there was a parking tunnel . I didn’t feel safe walking around the block in the dark The website states free parking. It was $15.00
It was beautiful! A perfect girls weekend! So nice to go downstairs in the morning and get a Starbucks coffee and then end our evenings with dinner and drinks at Plough.
We loved everything!
The staff was very friendly and helpful and parking in the ramp was convenient.
Although we were in the room until later in the day before our event, our room was not cleaned or bed not made. We also had to ask for more toilet paper.
Location
Alittle expensive
We missed the complimentary breakfast. We thought it was included with our room but was told it was not. It would be nice to have that included but the room and the Exchange restaurant was a great quick getaway.
That the breakfast wasn't included
The Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square is a solid, comfortable hotel in a great downtown location. The property is basically clean and well-kept, with a nice modern feel that fits the area’s historic character. The pool was good, but there weren’t nearly enough towels available, which was frustrating. The restaurant, on the other hand, was excellent: great food and friendly staff that made it worth staying in for dinner. The biggest issue, though, is the parking. The attached garage is a nightmare. Tight spaces, confusing layout, and just not guest-friendly. Add to that a pricey parking fee with no valet service, and it really drags down the overall experience. In short, the hotel itself is comfortable with good amenities, but the parking cost and and lack of convenience, keep it from being as good as it could be.
I stayed in this hotel for a professional conference with many peers of my graduate program. There was zero security. A shirtless man was able to enter into the lobby of the hotel where two of my friends and I (all early 20s women) had been sitting and eating. He cornered us, screaming profanities, threatening us of physical harm without provocation from our part, threatening us of violence if we call the police, and getting closer and closer to us. He was extremely aggressive, stood directly behind me and sat next to one of my friends at one point. We feared for our lives and didn’t know what to do. This was around 8pm, lasted at least 30 minutes, and for the entire duration of the incident, there was nobody at the front desk and security was nowhere in sight. How can someone be so loud and overtly aggressive and not be noticed? We had to text one of our male friends, who was attending a talk in the convention center, for him to come help us as we were terrified for our lives. After the man left, our friend had to convince the employee who had magically appeared at the desk to come speak with us about the incident (which he apparently was already aware of but didn’t come to help us?). He also had to pressure for security to be called to speak with us. When security finally did speak with us, he did not take us seriously at all. He actually lied to our friend, saying that there are no cameras in the lobby, which our friend was very quick to call him out for as he could see the cameras from where he was standing. Security then recanted that statement. Needless to say that our stay was ruined and we did not feel safe in that hotel and conference following the incident. A manager spoke to us the following day, assuring us they will take action to prevent something like this in the future. I have absolutely zero trust in them. It sounded like they were trying to protect their reputation more than anything else. A police report was filed following this due to how dangerous this incident was and the hotel’s absolute failure at every level. I’ve stayed in many hotels across the country, many of which were cheaper and less fancy than this one, and I have NEVER seen such a lack of action and concern for guest safety than in this one.
מלון מעולה במיקום טוב בעיר
שומעים את הרעש של דלת של השירותים הנפתחת ונסגרת של החדרים הסמוכים
This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Lancaster and near many attractions. The booking, check in, and check out was very smooth. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We asked for a room on a higher floor and with a view, if possible, and our room could not have been better! We were on the 9th. floor overlooking Penn Square! The room was quiet, clean, comfortable, and with all needed items, including bottled water. We will certainly recommend the Marriott Lancaster to family and friends and will stay again if we are in town.
We liked EVERYTHING!
Beautiful and spacious rooms.
How clean and inviting it was. The aroma is delicious in the lobby.
N/A
The location was amazing, walk to lots of restaurants and shops. The restaurants in the restaurant were mediocre. There was mold all over my toilet, and the front desk did not have it cleaned when I complained. The floors are poorly installed and make loud cracking noises when you walk on them. I had no maid service, no coffee replacements. No microwaves in the rooms. I would not stay here except for the location.
.
Great property. Our room was pretty loud because we were right next to a bar across the street. But otherwise a nice stay.
Great weekend getaway for my husband and me. Beautiful historical building in the heart of Lancaster.
Dining options and Starbucks for early coffee,
Area was loud, but room was nice. Could use new pillows.
The best Hotel in Lancaster
Locations was great. The access to parking wasn’t a terrible walk. Loved the flooring instead of carpet!
The staff were a little curt at the check out and various times we had questions about the hotel facilities or surrounding areas
I liked that is in a nice area. What I did not like, for the price of that Hotel $340 or more per night I think the complimentary bottle of water for each guest should be there when the guest arrive and replace them everyday. I had to ask for water or buy it. How could that be possible? Breakfast very poor, the coffee was terrible, we had to buy coffee in starbucks to have a real coffee flavor, we preferred to eat breakfast outside even though we paid for every day breakfast. They don't even help with the luggage, we had to bring them to the car and then bring the cart from the parking to the lobbly.
Very nice and comfortable hotel! Beautiful open space lobby with immediate access to city and other restaurants!
Clean and nice staff
Hotel was not clean at all-floors completely dirty and rooms barely cleaned each day.
Midden in de stad.
Amaizing
It was quiet and clean when we stayed on a thursday just overnight. across the stress is central market which is convenient and we had our breakfast and brought home some sourdough bread and fresh vegetables from the amish community.
Great property
Amazing!!
The atmosphere and the close proximity to attractions
There was a billing issue that was never fully resolved.
I like it I will be back soon. My day was excellent.
Lots of hair in the bathroom! Hair in the sink, tub & on the floor. It was gross which was a shame because it could’ve been a great stay if the rooms were properly cleaned.
The location of this hotel is what you are paying for. It is central to just about everything, and was part of the historic district. Onsite food was ok, bars were very good. Weddings were happening which was fun and kept the atmosphere upbeat. The room was a decent size (we booked a premium corner room), but the bed was not the best Marriott bed we've had, and it really could've been much more thoroughly cleaned. There were remnants of some tiny flower petals all over the floor so it clearly hadn't been vacuumed, and the vinyl wood-look floor left our bare feet dirty so it could've used a mopping. Housekeeping never came on day 2, luckily we didn't put out towels on the floor for replacement. There was no valet, only self-park in the garage which cost $15 a night with easy in-out. Saturday night it was packed and we were worried we wouldn't find a spot (but we did after a second go-round).
