Minha esposa usou e adorou.
Amazing views, amazing rooms and lots of amenities! The onsen was out of this world.
-
The room was big. The free shuffle and the attention of the staff.
The communication with some of the staff was a bit hard since they didn’t understand/speak English. I was a little disappointed about the dinner being a buffet. I was expecting it to be more traditional.
Tudo certo
O preço
Everything
Nothing
Nice onsen and traditional like rooms with comfort
Breakfast could get a bit to busy
Too many loud kids. Kids in the onsen
Correct mais sans plus
Beautiful location
My only issue was that there were some minor construction works taking place in rooms next to ours. There were a lot of workmen, who were very quiet and respectful. However, it would have been better to have been told this in advance so we could have considered moving rooms.
Onsens, views, buffet breakfast, kaiseki dinner
The Hotel felt like a lovely retreat it was very nice situated within green mountains with lovely views. Loved the garden and creek. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinner. My daughters loved the water park and the complimentary ice cream. The spa was nice as well as the hot tub in the balcony. The staff and service was superb.
Not much
You can’t beat the location, also we had a beautiful teppanyaki meal. However, the rooms are fairly basic (think 3 star) and although there is effort from many staff members, staff in other areas of the hotel don’t come nowhere near a 5 star standard. When we were there lots of families occupied most areas of the hotel which made breakfast a challenge.
Recursos excelentes, facilidades que superam as expectativas
Dificuldade no uso do inglês pelos funcionários
Location, Japan experience
Service was not good, the pool is not welcoming or clean, facilities are relatively old. Price is very high and not justifiable.

It was a bit far from the starion butnworth it.
The dinner was phenomenal- huge selection. The views and garden were beautiful. Great location.
Propreté, service

Relaxing Japanese experience that we won’t forget
Very little - would benefit from a forest walk attached to the hotel
Onsen was amazing! Grounds and gardens were beautiful.
In room hot tub on balcony was ok, but not great. Much nicer in public onsen area.
There was many options for the breakfast both European and Asian, but no gluten free options really, despite I asked in advance. It is a beautiful luxury hotel located close to the nature with a wonderful onsen. You may feel as in transitional Japanese hotel - we loved it. You get free ice creams, coffee and tea.
I like everything, however there was a mix up with a cost of late check out.
Cleanliness, design, environment, food
Such a beautiful hotel with amazing scenery. The staff are exceptional and really attentive to your every needs. The hot spring baths are amazing with all the amenities to pamper yourself at no extra cost. The food is also fantastic with an array of Japanese and international dishes to choose from. We also Indulged into a 6-course chef speciality menu which was excellent. There’s something for everyone, a water park for kids, spa treatments, massage rooms, an enchanting outdoor garden with three waterfalls, a bar & lounge and the three hot spring locations. Would highly recommend
Dinner: Fresh sashimi Breakfast: Plenty of food Private Onsen: Comfortable and relaxing.
Parking on the other side
Private onsen and buffet was lovely . Friendly staff The room bass lovely and had tatami mats and authentic Japanese design
Everything
It was in a beautiful location and our room was large and comfortable.
It was a bit chaotic when we were leaving due to so many families. The staff was wonderful however!
We loved the experience
Hakone Kowakien Tenyu wasn't quite the experience we had hoped for. We were expecting a more relaxed, intimate atmosphere with a strong focus on quality, but instead the hotel felt more like a large-scale tourist destination. The environment and landscape of the hotel are wonderful, as it is sourrended by big mountains and built in the middle of the forest. The Onsen experience provided by the hotel is unique and the staff is very helpful and speak good English, which helps a lot with communication. The hotel offers others other amenities, like a water park and free ice creams, which is nice for kids. There is also an arcade, or so it is called, but this is more of a mix of games (shooting and hoops), appropriate for younger kids. The breakfast is quite diverse, with several options between Japanese and Eastern food items. I would have preferred quality over quantity though. The Kaiseki dinner should have been one of our trip's main highlights, but it completely missed the mark. The appetisers were of substandard quality and the fish plates were overcooked (lobster and squid were rubbery). The meat dishes kind of saved the meal, but for the expensive amount paid this was really disappointing. Another aspect that needs to be revised is the power adaptors provided. The room has no USB plugs and providing only an adaptor for a family of four is obviously a challenge.
The beautiful surroundings in nature.
How the staff brings you into the hotel and does not recognize you are a new client and you are waiting to check in. Ali’s when you are leaving the hotel and waiting for a taxi the staff is like you cannot sit outside on the benches in peace. You should be allowed to sit .
We did a single overnight here to celebrate our anniversary and honeymoon and it was the most perfect and dreamy choice. This felt very special. The rooms are spacious, comfortable to the point of luxurious, and come with a balcony with a private onsen. Our room had a view of the mountains which was incredible. The hotel is set in the most beautiful location up in the mountains of Hakone, which can be enjoyed from multiple vantage points within the hotel experience, including the walkable gardens and foot bath on the lobby level. There are two public onsens (gender specific) - an outdoor infinity pool on a higher floor overlooking the mountains, and a garden at the base of a waterfall - they rotate between being for the men and women so you can experience both and both are transcendent experiences. I had a little cry watching the clouds roll in over the mountains while bathing in the infinity pool. The quality of the food, service and little extra details is all 5-Stars. The hotel knew we were coming for our honeymoon so provided little celebration extras like swan towels in the room, an invitation to the VIP lounge and a cute little complimentary dessert at dinner. Dinner was sensational; an abundant buffet with lots of speciality Japanese cuisine and Nomihoudai (all you can drink). For a 1-2 night break between big city travelling in Japan, this is the most luxurious and restful little treat. A perfect reset between our time in Tokyo and Kyoto and a truly memorable anniversary / honeymoon moment.
There was nothing we didn’t like. It was perfect. We would include a visit to Ten-Yu again on our next visit to Japan.
The best experience ever. The resort is on a mountain which has a unique view. The food is fresh and they offer a lot of varieties. The staff are super friendly and nice.
At the beginning I thought it is a little expensive. But actually it is a great value because both breakfast and dinner are included and the food is excellent. All the skin products are great too.
Beautiful location with great views. Very tourists and the buffet breakfast and dinners are ok. Rooms are a mix of modern and traditional with private onsens. My husband and I have tattoos so we couldn’t use the public ones. Entertainment nightly and free drinks which is a plus. Close to Lake Ashi.
The hot tub in the room was too small and old too.
The food was so good.
The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent! Service by all hotel and restaurant staff was outstanding and far exceeded our expectations! The executive suite was superior!
Atendimento.
Banheiro muito pequeno.
Very good
A break from the bustle of the city to this wonderful Zen palace! Nestled near Mt. Fuji, this spectacular hotel features outdoor private hot spring tub and public onsen baths. Meals were an extraordinary treat with flavors from so many regions. The hotel is conveniently connected by tunnel to a mart and boasts a spectacular garden. A large comfortable room with dining area and covered porch. A gem of a stay that is relaxing for the mind and body. Worth a stay when visiting Hakone region. Don't forget to get your black eggs! They promise each adds 7 years to your life :-)
facilities and overall beauty of property
Food - looked beautiful, but didn't taste the best
Beautiful setting and design.
The included food was plentiful but not great. Way too many choices of just ok things. Some not good, cold.
Staff and facilities
Takes a long time to get to
The public onsen and breakfast was lovely. The staff was generally all very kind and helpful.
A lovely hotel, but very crowded and a bit commercialized.
Es fantástico.
Room was spacious and comfortable. Buffet had a variety to pick from. Staff were friendly.
While the property was nice, felt more like a mid-tier hotel as opposed to a 5 star hotel. Don’t expect anything spectacular!
The dinner
Not much
Staff very unhelpful especially manager on duty a man who was u friendly uncompromising tired rooms so old faculties. Breakfast to terrible infact it was so bad we left a day early and was not compensated in any way .Never again and i advise the same if you looking to go to Hakone don’t stay there
My stay at Hakone Kowakien Tenyu was a major disappointment, especially considering the price of approximately €1,000 per night and the expectations that come with a five-star hotel. From the moment we arrived, it became clear that the reality did not match the way the hotel presents itself. The room felt outdated and did not meet the standard suggested by the hotel’s website and booking platforms. Our children slept on thin mattresses on the floor, and the quality of the bedding was disappointing. The pillows in particular were extremely uncomfortable and felt more like something you would expect in a budget accommodation rather than a luxury resort. In addition, the private outdoor bath was not sufficiently clean, and the hanging chair shown in the balcony photos was missing. As a result, the room did not live up to the expectations created by the hotel’s own promotional materials. During our stay, the room was not cleaned, and we did not receive fresh towels. Only afterwards were we informed that this service had to be requested separately. For a hotel in this price category, guests should be able to expect such basic services to be standard, or at the very least clearly communicated in advance. The buffet also fell far short of what one would expect from a luxury hotel. The quality did not match the price, and there was very little variation between the different evenings. What is presented as a culinary experience felt more like a standard hotel buffet, without any special focus on quality or variety. When we raised these concerns with the staff, our complaints were hardly taken seriously. Communication was difficult due to the limited level of English spoken, which made it challenging to properly discuss and resolve the issues. When we explained that the experience did not correspond with the advertised five-star standard, there was very little response. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the way the hotel handled our complaint.
The Dinners were nice
Breakfast terrible Onsen looked a little green to me Rooms were tired Manager Manoj was unsympathetic and refused to refund our money for a night when we decided to leave
Everything is including ! Free Shuttle. People are very nice Very clean Beautiful view
Taste of buffet but it’s my personal preference
The Onsen was beautiful. The breakfast and dinner buffets were extravagant. Overall, a wonderful experience.
The facility was a little dated.

Loved our authentic stay here! Great onsen, staff, room, and food.
Food was quite basic (apart from sushi, which was really good).
Large and spacious room and the breakfast was very good. Well organized and courteous staff. We did not use the hot springs but those in our group that did said that they enjoyed the experience. The shuttle bus was a big plus. In summary, a pleasant stay
We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip through Japan and this Ryokan was exceptional. We purchased the teppanyaki dinner both nights and we were blown away by how great the restaurant and hotel staff were, the hotel staff did everything they could to ensure we had a fantastic stay! The hotel shuttle makes getting around a breeze and paired with the Hakone free pass it made sightseeing around Hakone a great experience. Our private onsen was amazing more than large enough (the photo can be deceiving) for both of us to comfortably sit and enjoy the wilderness. If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of Japan's cities this is the perfect place to get a bit of relaxation in! We hope that we have the opportunity to stay here again!
The shower could use a bit of an update.
Great modern ryokan. Great onsen with beautiful views on mountains.
Weather :(. Service was a bit chaotic in the beginning when we were trying to check in.
Beautiful scenery
Not into buffets and food coffee drinks and outdoor space not readily available
Amazinngggggg Our favorite hotel of all 5 start hotels during our 2 week visit. The amenities. The staff. The onsen is unbelievable. Must book.
Excellent and clean facility.
No staff help transfer luggage when we arrive.
