There is only one bathroom and very dated. It needs a makeover, especially the shower that only has a handheld nozzle.

Cleanliness of the room

Bad service for a five star hotel. Customers had to wait for a very long time to get drinks in the bar. The view from my room (suite) was terrible: a huge roof which looked like a parking, just terrible and this for more than 700 Euro a night. An absolute joke!

A recepção foi maravilhosa....Não temos lugar no estacionamento - textualmente : pode estacionar à volta do hotel! Ao final da noite na recepção informaram "agora já temos tudo reservado para o restaurante, "dirija-se ao 1 andar e pergunte se existe possibilidade. Cheguei e textualmente novamente: vá passando ao longo da noite. Mas que serviço é este. Uma vergonha a resposta. No bar mais de 20 minutos pelas cerca de 16 horas de espera para uma carta chegar! A própria funcionária pediu desculpa mas não tinha "reforços". O que tem um hotel de 5* para oferecer ? Serviço! Onde? Já agora não posso provar, mas será que falar português é uma má condicionante neste hotel? Triste fado deste povo que despreza os próprios...Não se esqueçam ainda farão campanhas para o mercado interno... Gostei muito da decoração interior, mas o que privilegio em trabalho é o nível de serviço que foi uma vergonha. A minha estadia teve como propósito a avaliação para evento que naturalmente jamais acontecerá. Por norma não preencho questionários de avaliação mas senti-me indesejado. Daqui a duas semanas estarei sem dúvida novamente no Octant.

Dear Hotel Management, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment regarding our recent two-night stay at your hotel from August 31 to September 2, 2026. During our stay, €260 Euros in cash that we had safely stored inside our carry-on luggage right in our hotel room was stolen. This theft occurred during a timeframe when your staff had access to our room. Discovering that our private room was not secure and that our personal belongings were stolen has completely ruined our experience. We expect a formal response from your management team immediately regarding how you intend to investigate this internal theft and address our financial loss. Thanks!

Absolutely friendly and polite hotel staff addressed all our needs promptly. Buffet breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options, and the servers could not have been nicer. Shout out to Fabia, our waitress for breakfast, unfortunately we could not say goodbye to her because she was off on our last day. The room was spacious, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Turn-down service every night was the cherry on top, making our stay especially pleasant. :) The location is great for walking into town and to access all the restaurants located in the marina area. A truly 5-star hotel.

The room was large, clean and well maintained. The daily chocolates and treats were a nice surprise. The staff were excellent - especially the front desk reception staff and bell hop when we arrived, helping us park when the valet parking spots were full. The food at the restaurant was delicious, the servers were attentive, and it was conveniently opened late when all other restaurants were closed in the area. Great location!

Széles választékú minőségi reggeli, kitűnő kiszolgálással. Tágas szobák és fürdő. Sound proof szobák. Ágy kényelmes. A hotel környékén könnyű és olcsó a parkolás (érmés megoldás csak). Közel a belváros központja. Ocean view vagy Bay view szobákból szép kilátás.

Old style hotel. Szobabútorok régimódik, polcos szekrények teljes hiánya, nem lehet a bőröndökből kényelmesen kipakolni. Liftre sokat kell várni reggel és este. Spa részleg teljesen elhanyagolt, délutánra nincs törülköző és SPA személyzet egyáltalán nincs. Hotel parkolót előre nem lehet foglalni, így ha este érkezel, előfordulhat, hogy elküldenek, hogy keress a környéken magadnak parkolót. Félpanziós ráfizetés lehetséges, de nem éri meg.

Great breakfast. Extremely clean! Beds were comfy and loved the extra bonus turn down service with chocolate! Great central location. Staff at Hotel were amazing and accommodating!

Although we only stayed for one night as it was the final day of our trip to the Azores, we could not have wished for a better ending. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail. Our room and bathroom were beautiful, modern, and spotless. The food was truly exceptional. Every dish was of the highest quality, and the presentation was so elegant and carefully crafted that each plate looked like a work of art. A special thank you also goes to the team for their generosity on our departure day. Even though our flight was not until midnight, we were able to relax in the lounge until it was time to leave. This thoughtful gesture made an already perfect stay even more memorable. Thank you to the entire team for an outstanding experience. We would happily return and highly recommend this hotel.

El desayuno, muy rico y completo. Zumo de naranja recién exprimido. Destaco la amabilidad con nosotros además estábamos de luna de miel y nos favorecieron un upgrade. Me gustó la piscina cubierta ya que en Azores llueve muy a menudo aunque si coincidíamos varios huéspedes se hacía un poco pequeña . Además tenía sauna y baño turco.

Que no tenía parking gratuito y el que tenían cuando llegamos estaba lleno aunque nos ofrecieron opciones de parking cercana.

Gostamos do pequeno almoço mas esperava mais produtos da região dos Açores. A localização é ótima e os funcionarios foram impecáveis.

O meu colchão já estava na hora de ser trocado por um novo.

Don’t book here coming from the US on an early morning flight. Checking is 3PM and they are very slow getting rooms ready.

Stayed in a triple room as a family of 3. The room had all the amenities you would expect, plus the daily bottle of water and Nespresso machine, which were very welcome. However, the room was far too small for 3 people and felt very cramped. There was no balcony and hardly any storage space, so could not properly unpack and we were constantly tripping over bags and cases. We were looking forward to the nightly turndown service with a chocolate left on our pillow, but did not receive anything for the first 5 nights of a 7 night stay, as the hotel had run out. Although not a major issue, it was, however, a disappointment. The bathroom was also small with no space to put things down, but the shower was very good and powerful. Breakfast was very good. We especially enjoyed the breads and smoked salmon, but the buffet lacked variety of certain items. All staff members were very helpful and friendly and the hotel is in a good position, in walking distance of many restaurants. Overall a pleasant stay, but the room was not 5* standard.

Our stay at this hotel was good but not great. It is within walking distance of downtown but not in the heart of the town, and the part of town it's in is not very scenic - it overlooks an industrial port. Our small balcony overlooked construction cranes, which was not what I expected. The gym and indoor pool were completely closed for renovations, so I can't comment on either one. The hotel will give you a pass to the sister property next door to use their pool, but you have to be sure to ask for access to the outdoor pool, or the sister property's front desk will immediately send you to the indoor pool. The sister property's outdoor pool is small, overlooks a busy street, and has extremely limited service for food and drink. Gran Hotel Acores Atlantico does have an excellent breakfast available. The rooms are very clean and quiet. The lobby bar is also a very nice place to relax. I think it's probably the best hotel on the island, but there is an opportunity for some other hotel or hotel group to open something better in the heart of downtown that avoids the shortcomings this one has.

Gave us a free upgrade to a suite. Right on the harbor side and quiet. Excellent staff, particularly Maria on checkin.

We stayed at this hotel for a week in June. The staff were excellent and very responsive and helpful. The breakfast buffets were good with lots of selection and nice views when seated overlooking the water. The rooms were well appointed and as ours overlooked the harbour we were able to enjoy great views. A couple of small misses with housekeeping but nothing major. Location and proximity to restaurants, a food market and sights was also great. My only issue was we had a rental car and therefore felt we had to use the valet parking which was a little expensive. However it was very convenient and again the gentleman that took care of it provided excellent service so in the end maybe worth it. Overall I highly recommend.

Exactly as described! Don’t you hate when you book a hotel room only to be disappointed when you walk into the room and it’s not nearly as nice as pictured in the photos? Well I can assure you that this is a beautiful hotel that won’t disappoint! Very comfy beds, well appointed room and a view of the harbor is gorgeous! Also, don’t miss having dinner at the restaurant, Balcony! Absolutely delicious!

Not worthy, the front desk attempt to be helpful but in fact they do not return calls, or follow up. The facilities appear to be modern but the service remains inadequate.

We have just returned from a week's hiking trip to the wonderful Azores. We stayed the first night and last night at the Grand Hotel ACores Atlantico and have only good things to say about the hotel and the staff. The rooms are good size, quiet and have all the amenities you need, especially welcome were the USB ports which we didn't have at any of the other hotels we stayed at on the island and a kettle for late night tea. Breakfast service plentiful with lots of choice and helpful wait staff for special coffee or other requests. Staff very helpful with taxis and reconfiguring beds. Turndown service still gives a little chocolate - missing in most hotels these days. Location excellent right on the sea and 15 minutes from the airport. I would be most happy to recommend it and return sometime soon.

Obsługa bardzo uprzejma. Wszyscy starali się zadowolić nasze oczekiwania i mam wrażenie trochę podciągnąć ogólne wrażenie.

Funkcjonalność łazienki zdecydowanie do poprawy. Mieliśmy pokój z łazienką w której nie było zadnej półki na kosmetyki. Żeby nie kłaść ich na podłogę wstawiliśmy do łazienki stolik z pokoju. Nie było to idealne rozwiązanie ponieważ pogorszyliśmy w ten sposób funkcjonalność pokoju. Na śniadanie codziennie te same dania. Monotonne. Mały wybór warzyw i sałatek. Podczas meldowania otrzymaliśmy voucher na powitalnego drinka. Niestety żeby z niego skorzystać trzeba było kupić posiłek restauracji.

Das Zimmer war schön, im Grand Hotel Style. Die Aussicht vom Zimmer auf Meer und Hafen war toll. Das Frühstückbuffet ist reichhaltig und gut, Spätaufsteher haben dann nicht mehr die ganz grosse Auswahl, aber man kann nachbestellen. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, das Valet Parking hat super geklappt!

We spent six nights at the hotel. First rate service from all their staff. We had some check-in questions before the trip and their staff answered our emails within the hour. Room was immaculate and the housekeeping efficient and discrete. Water front location is the best in Ponta Delgado. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is central and incredibly convenient. The Room: The beds are very comfortable. Rooms are spacious and clean. Great attention to detail: the bed reading lights have switches right on the cord, making them easy to turn on and off without getting up. Equipped with a small fridge, a safe, a Nespresso machine, and an electric kettle featuring tea from a local plantation. The light on the makeup mirror doubles perfectly as a nightlight. High-quality bath products provided. Dining: The lobby bar/lounge serves great food all day and mixes excellent cocktails. A large, very high-quality breakfast buffet was included in our stay. Service & Amenities: The staff is excellent and highly attentive, from the front desk and waitstaff to the team helping with luggage and valet. They truly go the extra mile. When I had trouble logging into the Wi-Fi, I called the desk, and they immediately sent someone to my room to fix it—I didn’t even have to go downstairs. Valet parking is very reasonably priced at just €14, and they retrieve your car quickly whenever you need it. Highly recommended!

Central location, with excellent access to town and the water

Spa was closed, but I paid nearly $400/n for the hotel. They need to either discount or provide a voucher if that’s the case. The rooms were also slightly run down for how much they cost and the fact that it’s a 5 star hotel.

I've stayed here for a total of 8 nights. I do quite a bit of travel for business and leisure purposes, and have been to many, many 5* and 4* properties. The Grand Hotel Acores Atlantico may actually be the best one I've been to yet. Their focus on customer service and overall guest experience is unrivaled. The staff (reception, doormen, housekeeping, breakfast restaurant) were lovely and highly professional in all aspects and across all of my interactions. Make sure to get an ocean view room and make use of the valet parking service.

Die Atmosphäre im Hotel ist sehr angenehm und lädt zum Wohlfühlen ein. Das Frühstück ist abwechslungsreich und lässt keine Wünsche offen, insgesamt ist das Essen sehr lecker. Besonders hervorzuheben ist auch der Parkservice, der sich absolut lohnt – inkl. liebevoller Extras wie aufgefülltem Wasser im Auto. Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt vollkommen. Die Lage direkt am Hafen mit Blick aufs Meer und fußläufiger Nähe zur Altstadt ist ideal. Für uns war Ponta Delgada der perfekte Ausgangspunkt, um die Insel zu erkunden. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!“

Just a few details that might as well be a matter of personal taste. Also, I wasn’t exactly wowed by the breakfast (It was good, but given the high standards here I would have hoped for a little bit more than just that)

Breakfast staff were struggling. I think one was new to her job and the others didn’t help her. Made for a sad and very slow breakfast experience. Food was good. We were just distracted by her and ended up loosing a lot of time as well.
