I thought there would be free wifi but you have to sign up for their rewards and even then you are supposed to buy the wifi. I will be looking for other places with free wifi. Free breakfast could have had eggs and some breakfast meat. Only had carbs.

Pillows were too thick and not comfortable for proper head and neck alignment. Carpet was dated and a piece was clearly cut out and replaced. No flavored coffee creamer options. Disappointing. Pricing was high during college move in dates. Not happy about that.

Breakfast was ok, wish there were hot options aside from waffles.Cleaning in hotel room bathroom needs to improve, found bobby pin behind door and hair in tub. Air vent in bathroom needs cleaned.

Reviewed Jun 30, 2026Days Inn at Penn State is a great place to stay because it is clean, the staff is knowledgeable, and friendly, and it is conveniently located close to restaurants, sporting events and fuel.. it has a nice continental breakfast and work out room. It is good value for your money. I will be back.
The toilets are very low and I would like a night light.

It would be nice to have some oatmeal available though. The cereal option is ok (usually too sugary for my needs) but oatmeal always hits the spot. I saw that Super 8 by Wyndham had it and it made a big difference to my breakfast experience. So I'd love to eventually have it as an option at Days Inn.

The toilets are very low. I would prefer a night light so I didn't have to turn on lights to go to the bathroom at night and disturb others in the room.

Bathroom had all amenities including shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the showers. Breakfast was open until checkout at 11am including make your own waffles, muffins, yogurt, bagels and fruit.

Reviewed Jan 21, 2026If you are visiting Penn State for a weekend, this is a great budget-friendly option. Our room was clean, they had our room ready at 2 PM (check in was at 3, but we arrived early), and I have no complaints. The staff was friendly. I wouldn't expect a lot of bells and whistles if you stay here, but it was a perfectly fine hotel and I appreciated being able to stay overnight for such an affordable price!
The only thing I did not love was the breakfast. The options are VERY limited, and to be honest none of them were good. The safest bet was yogurt with a banana.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026I appreciated how clean everything was; hallways, bed room, and bathroom. Sparkling clean. (I recently stayed at a Day's Inn in Brookville, Pa., that was filthy and under maintained with loose handled faucets, slippery showers and dirty carpets). The Days Inn on N, Atherton in State College was a very pleasant surprise, with Friendly, Polite, and helpful staff. I will return to this hotel when I return to State College.
Stronger Wifi signal, I was on the 3rd floor and I noticed it to be a bit slow loading at times.

Pillows were small and very uncomfortable. For the price of stay, a full breakfast should be provided (eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns etc). Power went out for several hours and was not offered a discount.
