The room was everything I needed - great value for the price. An easily walkable distance from city center. The self-check-in process went smoothly.

A hook or bar for towels would be nice. I didn't need the added scent in the stairwell.

Staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful. Room quite spacious for a little guesthouse. Room felt well equipped for a guest, had plenty of tea/coffee, toilet rolls and towels, the drawers even had a hair drier and there was extra fans in the wardrobe. Room had a TV which was easy to use, easy to find channels and well positioned for viewing in bed. Room had ceiling fan which was remote controlled and worked perfectly. Lobby area had plenty of leaflets and information about local attractions aswell as extra tea/coffee for of you ran out.

Placement of tea/coffee tray in room took up majority of one of the bedside tables making it very difficult to use as an actual bedside table. Placement of toilet was right Infront of towel heater making it difficult to sit on toilet properly, also if the heater was on (it wasn't as it was late August and still very hot weather) then you would constantly catch your knees on the hot towel heater. Staff in morning who were different to staff when checking in weren't as nice or approachable. We asked to leave our case for a few hours so we didn't have to take it with us for the day before we caught our train. But was told it would be a charge to leave it there.

Ein zweckmäßiges, gemütliches Zimmer mit allem, was das Herz für eine Übernachtung (oder mehrere) begehrt. Ruhige Lage, Parkmöglichkeit direkt vor der Tür, Stadtzentrum nur einen kurzen Spaziergang entfernt, gute Dusche, bequemes Bett und Wasserkocher. Perfekt!

The place is central. Room was clean. Self-check in process was easy thanks to clear instructions. Staff were kind. They let us drop our luggage for couple of hours after we checked out, which allowed us to walk around the city empty-handed for couple of hours before leaving.

There were so much noises from upstairs during the night. Also, the bathroom floor needs renovation. It looks neglected and dirty even when it is clean.

Love the location, it's so close to the centre on a nice quiet street. The easy check in and check out, easy instructions. The size of the room was good, and the bed was very comfy. These rooms are really good for people who just use them as a base to go back to to sleep in, good value for money and fantastic location.

The bathroom could do with a bit of an upgrade - the shower was pretty basic. The room overall could maybe do with a little bit of love, but to be honest we have no complaints and have used this place before and will keep booking.

The room was spotlessly clean and fresh. The Brentwood is quiet and peaceful through the night. It’s only a 15 min walk to the Minster.

The shower trap drained too slowly. We could only run the shower for a minute or so before the shower base got to the point of overflowing.

The English breakfast was exceptional and tailored to my needs. The room was clean and bed super comfortable, shower worked well.

There was no aircon during a brief heatwave and there were only partial blackout blinds so sunlight was quite strong in the morning.

Great location and, if booked in advance, parking right outside. Self service check-in is straightforward with very clear instructions. Real bonus point is you can have a one night stay whereas many places in York only allow for two night bookings.

Cozy and comfortable room! On a nice quiet street a short walk from the city centre. Self check-in was very smooth and there was easy access to refill everything you need for a good cup of tea.

Can't complain about anything

The room and hotel were clean, safe and quiet. Checking message was sent in a timely fashion and easy to follow. Although the room was small, it was comfortable. It is an easy walk to the old parts of the city. There was a fan which was great since the weather was warmer than usual and the room got afternoon sun.

Be prepared to pay extra (cheaper than other luggage storage options) if you want to leave your luggage for a few hours after checkout. Be sure to ask in advance if you want to do this so you know what to expect and what times work for leaving and picking up luggage.

The guesthouse was very comfortable and in a great location, while we were there, a handy man was working on a few maintenance jobs, he was very considerate and did not disrupt our stay at all .

My only problem was the shower wasn’t very powerful, I think due to needing a new hose as more water came from there than the shower head .

The room was tiny the shower is in a cupboard and exposed. The toilet is in another cupboard and your knees are touching the door. Also bo lock on door and doesn't close properly also no ventilation The bed was ridiculous. It's was a thin memory foam bed the support was a sheet of ply wood Now space wise. Omg you had to shuffle around the bed constantly and the bed was a small double so ...... The tea/coffee facilities is under the sink in the room ? In short this is no way a 4 star accommodation probably 1 or 2 star at best Very disappointing 😞

Everything was good however it is a distance from main attractions in town. A small fridge in the room would have been appreciated.

Room was lovely, and the location was excellent for our needs. The staff were very accommodating and helpful when we needed to add parking at the last minute. Everything was very clean.

The only slight problem was that the one small fan provided did very little to help with the heat of the day, but that was only a problem because of the extreme heat we've been having recently.

We liked that U can park outside the property It's £5 check in at 2 pm to checkout at 10am U have 2 let the property know & they will arrange a parking permit 4u normally u pay by bank transfer but they let us leave the money in the bedroom. U have codes to get into the property & a code at your room to get the key for your room.we have stayed at the property before & it's not 2 long a walk into the centre, I would recommend this property as it's value 4 money & where else in York would U get parking at £5 it cost U that 4 one hour.

Great location. Perfect for anyone visiting the City and also communication between myself and Jose was very good. Answered any issues /questions straight away. For the price (I paid £103 for a twin room ) and location I would stay there again. Oh, and you get enough sugar and milk rather than the usual poor amounts in other hotels.

Parking is an issue outside and you pay extra. I'd booked a space in advance and although there was a 'space' when I arrived, my little Hyundai i10 only just managed to get in so if my car was any bigger it wouldn't have fit. I'm quite good at reverse parking so I managed to get it sorted and it was fine. But that could be a problem for others especially if you want to arrive before check in cos you get charged for 2 days. The only other slight issue was that the room I stayed in (number 6) was incredibly warm, but we did just come off the back of a heatwave, so it's not a big issue.

The guest house was clean and tidy, and the location was convenient for visiting York. Check-in was straightforward and the room itself was well presented.

We booked and paid £171 for a Double Room, but the room we were allocated (Room 3) was exceptionally small and did not feel like a standard double room for two adults. There was barely enough space to move around the bed, making the stay uncomfortable. We have since noticed that the property advertises both Double Rooms and Small Double Rooms as separate room types, which has left us questioning the room we were allocated. We also requested an iron on the afternoon of our arrival for the following morning, but it was not delivered until the next morning when it was no longer needed. Overall, we felt the room did not represent good value for the price we paid.

The setting of the room was comfortable and welcoming. It was a pleasant walking distance away from the town centre.

We stayed in room 1 and it was very small. There was a window that I tried to open but realised it opened into a conservatory that had a board behind the window blocking it from opening. This made the room feel very claustrophobic and didn't allow for a good airflow. There was also a layer of dust on the headboard of the bed. Otherwise the room was immaculate. I wasn't made aware of the fee for parking. While it wasn't expensive, it was a surprise!

Stayed here in September’23 with a girlfriend, so I knew what to expect. This time with husband. Easy walk to town center, quiet location.

The only thing, no air conditioning. Which we didn’t think we would need. But, the temperatures came early in U.K. this year 87 degrees end of May. There is a fan.
