Georgian House & Mews

Good sized room, comfortable bed, good easy to operate shower, desk and chair. Heating easy to control. Able to leave luggage. Kindly friendly staff. Good breakfast in pleasant room

Towel rail not hot, bathroom not cleaned thoroughly after first night.

Great staff. Really friendly and helpful. The location is central but quiet. Just make sure you can climb the stairs.

My sister and I stayed in a small twin room. It was absolutely perfect for us. Yes it was small but it was clean & cosy and had plenty of room for us. We stayed for 5 days and there was enough storage space for clothes etc. The newly refurbished shower room was fantastic and had complimentary shampoo and shower products. Loved the complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits and mini Prosecco on arrival, a nice touch. Manager and staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The Yorkshire breakfast was very good and there were plenty of other options to choose from. It is so close to the centre it took less than 5 minutes to walk to York Minister and less than 15 minutes from the train station. When checking out you can leave your luggage in the reception area until you are ready to go home, no extra charge.

Nothing we didn’t like, but would suggest a shelf in the shower to place washing products on.

Stayed here a few times now. Location excellent, staff good.

It’s in a great location, very close to the city centre, and in walking distance to everything, including a 10 minute walk to the train station. The staff are very friendly and very welcoming. The room was great value for money and was clean and comfortable.

The wifi in my room lost connection a lot, but it’s a minor issue that didn’t impact my stay.

Very comfortable and large room...spotless bathroom. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Excellent location within walking distance of all of York's major sights, as well as easy access to public transportation. Delicious breakfast.

The hotel is on a busy road, and occasionally there was noise from the street.

The room was just right for 2 to days cry silent and cosy we enjoyed a lott

Bedroom claustrophobic and dark window looking out onto a wall

Overall I would not go there again

The team were absolutely amazing, Laurence especially was so helpful and welcoming! He went above and beyond during my stay, and as a solo traveller I felt super safe here. The location is incredible, only a two minute walk to the York Minster and so many other attractions only 10-15 minutes away! Even though the location is near the centre/lots of bars and restaurants, the hotel itself was so peaceful, it really is the best of both worlds. My room was gorgeous, so clean and fresh, and very spacious. I had skylights instead of regular windows which I absolutely loved. All in all, I had a fantastic stay and I cannot wait to come back!

Posizione ottima e disponibilità dello staff

Todo

really excellent friendly staff confortable very clean they even did a wash for 12£ which was very helpful highly recommended just next to town too

From the initial 'phone call to arrange check in, where it was answered quickly and by a happy, friendly voice who answered my question even before I asked it, through arrival and stay for2 nights I was impressed by the helpfulness of the staff. The hotel is a short walk from the train station and located a couple of minutes from the city centre. The room was exactly what we needed, great price, comfortable, quiet and with excellent facilities. Would definitely recommend Georgian house and mews.

Food was lovely location fantastic would definitely recommend this guest house

Nothing

It was all great.

Perfect room very clean and comfy short walk to the heart of the city

Fab lovely clean

Location , friendly helpful staff , cleanliness and breakfast

Treppenhaus eng, kein Aufzug

Every thing

Alan and the team are all very welcoming and helpful. Great location, comfortable and clean rooms and lovely breakfast.

Nothing, all great.

Great location and staff

Nothing

Very nice and clean property

Nothing not to like

Great position for everything, near the bus stop for the hop on bus

Everything was ok

Location

Nothing

Generally, it was a good stay

The room was small and very hot.

Ontbijt pas na 8 uur mogelijk. Zeer klein kamertje.

Proximité du centre-ville. Personnel sympathique.

The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The staff at the work desk was extremely kind and helpful. The location is a short 5 minutes walk to the main train station.

Fantastic customer service, they let us check in 3 & a half hours early. Room was a decent size and exceptionally clean with bottled water, an electric fan and a small bottle of fizz. Very quick to respond to queries. Location is great, very central, literally just outside of the walls on a busy-ish road but couldn't hear any traffic! Very close to the museum gardens, art gallery, pubs and cafes. Didn't have breakfast but will try it next time! Will be adding to my favourites and booking again whenever I'm in York. Thank you so much for being fabulous hosts, it's rare to find a B&B with little to no faults.

Staff amazing Breakfast, top notch We made a mistake with our parking, staff helped us to rectify it straight away

Location was fantastic and that along makes it worth the stay. The staff are also friendly and extremely helpful and accomodating. The room was standard, it was generally quite clean but the bathroom top walls had slight mould spots but nothing too drastic.

As said the room is quite basic but nothing that would put me off for the price, not 4 star room though.

Often hard to get a single room, so a Mews room was extra special. Easy access from train station, and just right for York Minster and City Centre. Great cooked breakfast in unique, calm room.

Nothing here

Helpful staff. Good price and a very cosy room with everything we needed.

Lovely comfortable room. Very tasty breakfast and great location

I liked the layout of the rooms , liked the way we were next to our friends , liked we didn’t need to go through the hotel going in and out and also that our car was parked right outside our door

Great location, very nice breakfast and friendly staff

No fridge in room and my wife found bed slightly uncomfortable.

Staff were excellent. Communication before our arrival was great and they had lactose free milk for me.😁 I have had to bring my own to other hotels which is okay. They were very helpful regarding my wheelchair. Very friendly and professional.

Very Nice!

Was amazing stay could not do enough for you

The staff were amazing

the room was clean, staff very friendly, and helpful, and in an ideal location for what we had planned in York.

The location was perfect for walking into the centre near to cafes, parks, the Minster, museums and the bus/boat tours. Everyone in the hotel was very friendly and happy to help with any questions or concerns. The breakfast was very nice and good to have the 3 set times to eat. Reception was happy to store your luggage on check out which was very handy. An overall lovely stay and the weather was great too.

Going home!

Stayed in Room 15,which was tucked away round the back of property, room was excellent, bathroom consisted of wet room shower ,sink and toilet Breakfast was cereal, fruit juice ,tea or coffee Hot option eas traditional Yorkshire full breakfast or option of scrambled egg ,poached egg on toast. Excellent location ,10 - 15 minute walk from train station and 5 minute walk to York Minister Would recommend this to friends

Great location & friendly staff

Dejlig beliggenhed. Fine værelser og solid morgenmad

This was our second visit and we were so pleased they were able to accommodate us in the Mews again for 3 night. As I have mobility issues the mews rooms are perfect.

No complaints!

Amazing location, staff are so lovely and it was an amazing stay

Nothing, this was an expectional stay

Location was great

The room was really warm and quite dark.

Walking distance from York’s great historic sights.

Leaving!!!😂

The property was exceptionally clean, very friendly and welcoming staff and was in an ideal location to explore the centre of York Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice Room was spacious and was a lovely comfortable stay for two nights

Nothing

Great location and lovely property.

Nothing

Location

Rooms to small and decoration old.

Location lovely room good price

Nothing

Lovely breakfast, small but adequate twin room. Staff very helpful and friendly and polite. Great location for York city centre.

Beds were quite hard

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and quiet if we shut the windows (city centre location).

It's a very old house so the interior was a bit of a maze of corridors and staircases. Ask if you have access needs.

Lovely staff friendly helpfull place really good traditional but with mod cons loved the bottle oif proseco for a couple so nice and warer biscuits quality and even decaf coffee can't fault anything will book again with my husband

Absolutely nothing all fine location rooms nothing to complain about

It was the right distance from town and suited us

Everything was fine

Perfect single-bed room for my dad for one night. He loved his stay. Awesome location. Great breakfast. Convenient to stow luggage on day of check-out.

breakfast, staff, venue and room were all first class. the location was perfect for walking into the city. would happily stay here again and recommend to all. thankyou team for everything

i couldnt find fault even if i wanted to.

The breakfast menu had a good choice alternatove although limited it was good quality and nicely cooked.

No further improvement reguired.

Very clean comfortable bedrooms. Brilliant central location

Lovely little place within 4 minutes walk to the minster & the shambles. Small room with a nice shower room perfect for our stay 😁. The staff were friendly & very efficient. I would highly recommend this place if you’re visiting York 😁.

They don’t have parking on site but union street car park is only 4 minutes walk away so not a problem.

The property was fine except for the complete absence of air conditioning during the recent heatwave which made it intolerable for sleeping. The table top fan supplied did very little to alleviate the conditions.

Great location - friendly helpful staff - good breakfast

Room on the small side

We have a wonderful stay at Georgian House: very kind staff and excellent location. I would return🥰.

Location & staff

It was expensive but the races was on so it was expected

Good value. If I stayed in York again, Id look here first. I wouldnt have been able to afford the festival if this awesome option wasnt there I got an upgrade. Honestly made my weekend. The staff were nice and looked after my bag on the last day so i could have another day exploring

Only thing Id say is maybe some of the drains need a regular clean. The drain in the shower drained slowly - can only assume it was clogged with hair - just make doing the drains a regular check on the cleaning schedule

Great location, comfortable bed. Plenty of tea and coffee facilities in the room.

Wasn't aware of the additional car parking charge, but it is very convenient. Room on the smaller side, but very well appointed.

Georgian House & Mews is ideally located, only a few minutes away from York Minster and the centre of town. The room was comfortable and clean!

Previous scoring sums it up.

Apart from finding the property difficult, No dislikes.

Location and friendly staff

Road noise

Proximity to the center of the city was great. Staff were very kind and accommodating. Free water bottle and prosecco in the room was much appreciated.

The room got a bit warm considering the hot weather during the time of stay.

Great little hotel like located right in the centre. Good value too 👏

Very close to town, nice small touches like tea variety, biscuits etc. decent bathroom too for small room

It was a little cramped around the bed but bang for buck still

My room had everything I needed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I loved the little touch of a mini bottle of Prosecco in the room. Breakfast was plentiful and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Nothing

The room was tucked away in a lovely quiet part of the property, and it was very well appointed. Very comfortable bed, excellent shower, and the whole thing only steps away from the historic city - what wasn't to like?

I can't think of a thing. This place is top-notch.

Fabulous location lovely warm welcome on arrival, we were in a superior double room in the mews, it was very quiet and really clean & comfortable. This is our second stay here and would definitely stay here again in the future.

The staff was friendly. The toom and property were well kept

Friendly manager who kept in touch re our arrival

Excellent position

Breakfast ,scrambled eggs tasteless. Toast average.

Lovely room in the back of the property, very nice room and excellent location. Breakfast was lovely too. as were the staff.

Some croissants at breakfast would have been nice but breakfast was lovely.
