Old style guesthouse , pleasant .
Stairs - luggage hauling . Staff not totally helpful nor friendly .
Nice room, comfortable bed. Near to amenities.
Shower was weak, poor pressure. Breakfast could have been better. Cold cooked food, scrambled egg came after I finished eating.
Great size family room and very comfortable beds. Had a spa bath and big bathroom Great buffet breakfast. Approx 15min walk into Chester but easy to get there.
Trotzdem alles vorhanden, was man braucht.
In good location parking easy 15 minute walk to centre of town
Breakfast was good but was supposed to finish at 10 but if you didn’t arrive by 9-45 they were clearing away
Arriving to the hotel was easy using satnav. Parking in front of the hotel is tight, but one can park next door at the sister hotel in a larger lot. One receptionist was handling arrival for both hotels. Our room was a decent size and nicely furnished. There was a kettle and supplies for coffee and tea, and a couple packets of cookies. On the ground floor there was also a hot beverages machine for all guests to use. The room’s bathroom was small and the shower slightly larger than an average sized person. A large or overweight person would have difficulty maneuvering in it. One minor maintenance item that needs to be addressed is the wallpaper on the ceiling is starting to separate from the ceiling itself. Breakfast was served in the sister hotel. In addition to the full English items there was also a small selection of meats and cheese, breads, and yogurt. A potential drawback for some would be its distance, 1.5 miles, from the city center. There are buses, but they didn’t seem to run frequently.
Very classy room and bathroom. Also Ice machine, free coffee/chocolate machine and supply of variety of glasses, cutlery in separate room (good idea)
Nothing I can think of.
The rooms were nice with comfortable beds and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was average, some things were luke warm. The room wasn't big enough for all to have breakfast, so sometimes there was a bit of a wait. Also it felt rushed as staff seemed in a hurry to clear up by 9.30 am. If you had a front room next to the busy road ,it was a bit noisy at times.
Room was fantastic, huge comfortable bed, lovely bathroom with beautiful free standing bath
Breakfast was a little disorganised, food was ok but had to wait for eggs as they're cooked to order and not a great choice on hot breakfast.
Bed, shower, breakfast, our own terrace, outdoor relaxing area. Lovely communal coffee machine.
Nothing
Everything Nice lounge breakfast room was very good and the bedroom was wonderful and spacious
Lack of yoghurt and fruit at breakfast on second morning
Room was stunning, spacious with top quality furniture. Cleanliness was exceptional. Beds very comfortable and a great selection at breakfast. Free WiFi and parking were an added bonus.
Room was very hot. Breakfast room was not big enough to accommodate all the guests, when we arrived we were asked to wait outside until they had a table, far from ideal, fortunately it was dry and not cold. I received more information on availability from leaving guests, than the breakfast staff, who were unapologetic and looked very uncomfortable with the situation.
The hotel is very clean, quirky and comfortable
The location
The property looked disappointing from the outside on first arrival because it wasn’t easily apparent to see how much work had been done on some parts of the building
Rooms are very clean and tidy, with plenty of extras such as biscuits and chips. Very comfortable beds. The shower was excellent, and there was plenty of room in the bathroom. The room was very well decorated and looked like it had just been done.
My only issue was the breakfast. We were asked if we wanted eggs and asked how we wanted them, I asked for mine fried and well done only to be told they just come out as they are. The rest of the breakfast tasted very nice if only a bit cold.
Beautiful property, amazing staff, lovely and clean. Great breakfast, loved it
I have stayed here a few times now. It is my favourite Chester Hotel. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, spacious and attractive bedrooms & a fantastic breakfast.
Nothing. I love it!
Shaun the owner SO helpful & friendly & cooked a great breakfast
Nothing
Friendly treating upon arrival. The hotel has been extensively refurbished to a high standard and tastefully re-furbished demonstrating attention to detail.
One slight issue with the sink tap which had worn loose.
Exceptionally high quality - excellent location- great breakfast
Nothing
Location was very good close to local amenities and only a short walk into Chester centre. Beds very comfortable Room clean and tidy. Good for car parking and wifi. It was nice to have a fridge in the room.
The fact that a coffee machine and a mini bar was advertised as being in every room. This was not the case. A communal coffee machine was provided downstairs and a kettle and coffee sachets only in room. No mini bar at all. On the second day there was no biscuits or water provided, which we found strange as everywhere else we have stayed, these are usually replenished every day. No poached eggs available, scrambled or fried only. Buffet breakfast was just ok. For an advertised 5 star guest house, we found it quite disappointing.
Great triple room, close to Chester Zoo, which is what we needed. Breakfast at the hotel was great, including cooked and continental. There was tea coffee hot chocolate making in the room, biscuits, and a bad of crisps and a bottle of water for the kid. Fridge and microwave in the room too! There’s an electric vehicle charge point across the road which we used. It’s close to Toby Carvery for a great evening meal.
The room and hotel was very warm. (August) 🥵 There was a fan but it wasn’t very effective .
The host was warm and welcoming, the room was very well presented spotlessly clean. As a family of 4 the room was spacious, and there was a plentiful supply of towels and complimentary items, shower gel, biscuits teas and coffee’s etc, along with a large TV. We were at the end of the B&B and found the wifi to be a bit hit and miss, but that did not distract from the enjoyment of the short stay.
The breakfast overall was fantastic, but I did find it a little odd that we had to order eggs and wait for them to arrive, but everything else was buffet style. I also found the gentleman in charge of breakfast a little stern during our interaction.
Plenty of parking at the property. Comfortable room and really good breakfast options. The location is perfect with a good selection of local shops nearby and within easy walking distance of the city itself which is absolutley beautfful and well worth visiting.
Nothing
Location.
Our bedroom was tired and in need of repair. There was a large bed along with one single. The large bed creaked badly and in our opinion was way past it’s sell by date. The ceiling was damaged above the main bed possibly due to a previous water leak on the upper floor. The window sill was dirty and decor was damaged in parts. The cleanliness of the en-suite bathroom was concerning. The toilet brush had been left in a disgusting state!! Totally unacceptable!! The ? manager/owner whom we met on our arrival (he never introduced himself) was rude. Apart from giving us necessary information regarding breakfast times and checking our awareness of the area he subsequently showed us to our room. Following this he acknowledged us only when we first acknowledged him. Not at all welcoming. Breakfast was buffet style which was located in the dining area within the hotel next door. The dining room was too small for this arrangement. Consequently we had breakfast for one of two mornings only. Too congested and too much of an ordeal overall.
Great location for access to Chester, good parking facilities
Only slight issue was having to wait for tables at breakfast
Location
DISSAPOINTED with breakfast only available between 8 and 9.30 Guests waiting for a table Food cold Limited selection Poor service Obviously management trying to save money with wages for staff allocated only limited time for a breakfast guests have paid for Unfortunately will not stay here again and would not recommend accommodation Pity !!
Excellent value. Friendly staff. Attention to detail
Great location short walk to a few pubs n eatery’s, 10 minutes in a taxis to centre of Chester. Staff very helpful friendly, the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, we had the quadruple Room me & 3 friends. Would definitely recommend.
This is the third time we have stayed here bringing our adult children and their partners, we just can’t fault it. Will be returning again soon.
Nothing
Beautiful presented Clean Comfortable beds Fantastic room with a jacuzzi Children loved it Unlimited hot drinks
WiFi/ signal was a little slow
location, comfort, cleanliness, friendliness, superb breakfast.
nothing to dislike

Really liked the smell of the clean linen, bed was very comfy and nice little touches, and had everything I needed.
Smelly drainage in bathroom
I liked all the attention to detail, cleanliness, location and breakfast was very good
Everything was great and would definitely stay again. See my review on google
Nothing to criticise
Beautiful property very clean with all that you needed very helpful staff full of knowledge about the area
Nothing
Nice place, very clean , close to the city centre. Tasty breakfast. The room was very small but enough for 2 people. Free car park.
Tiny room
I liked my room as plenty for a couple, more than enough for a single traveller. It was only a short distance walk to Chester City and the area was clean and smart.
I went to the nearest door I found as I walked from the station. It had Chester House Guest House BnB above so entered and waited for xx a while despite Di gong the bell twice. After phoning I was told it was the fire exit and the bell didn’t work. When I was inside I saw a sign for fire exit so maybe one is needed in a visible location outside. Unfortunately as far as room service was concerned I was left disappointed. On the first morning the cushions weren’t replaced on bed and on the second both cushions and bed runner were left on the window sill. Apart from this the room bin was emptied but the bin bag was left with things in on a chair!! Condiments weren’t replaced on breakfast table I was given. The bacon was a bit dry. Damp on bathroom ceiling above shower.
Bed was comfortable. Decent shower.
Room was stifling hot when we arrived and didn't cool down much for the night even though we left the windows open. There was a fan which helped. The heatwave was over. It is on a main road so very noisy. The bed sheets were grubby looking and the duvet cover marked although they did seem to have been washed. The breakfast was OK. Choice only between fried or scrambled eggs which took some time to arrive. Only instant coffee, which is unbelievable in this day and age. So we opted for tea which wasn't good.
Warm welcome, tea/coffee, biscuits in room. Water provided. Reasonably comfortable bed. Good location with plenty of parking.
Room was a little cramped, few cobwebs lurking in the room. Breakfast welcome but a little underwhelming
The room, the terrace, the breakfast, the welcome and the shower.
Great location for visiting Chester. Hotel was great and close to local amenities and the zoo.
The staff trudy and the owner were very friendly and helpful
I liked everything
The room was very nice and tidy
Very noisy neighborhood, we couldn't sleep most of the night
Excellent Hotel, good breakfast, Excellent location and the staff particularly the owners were superb, I've stayed 8n quite a few hotels in Chester, this was the best
The presentation of the hotel was superb, everything from the carpets, curtains, bedding was beautiful with a lot of quirky additions in the choice of lighting and wall lights. Good car park with ample parking. About 20 min brisk walk into Chester but at the side of a busy main road so not relaxing, however there was a bus stop nearby if preferred.
The bathroom could do with a fan or extractor as because it is very small (albeit it beautifully done), it did feel very hot and stuffy when getting dried after taking a shower. The breakfast was disappointing. Not the quality of the food it was the way it was run. There seemed to be plenty of staff but not organised very well. Needs background music in the dining room.
Bastante cerca del centro
La habitación algo pequeña. Las camas algo blandas. Muy agradable. Desayuno muy completo
It was so clean and comfortable, the small details like a chocolate on your pillow and hot chocolate sachet with biscuits. The breakfast was really good with pleasent staff made a really good impression.
Nothing
The guest house was lovely, they room was a good size, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was varied and delicious, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, we were shown around when we got there and the facilities were great, I especially liked the little room with ice and extra tea and coffees available, my children enjoyed the complementary hot chocolate sachets in the room. The house is central to the city centre and the zoo and there is a lovely little park just over the road for those with children.

Location, cleanliness and very helpful staff
Nothing
Friendly host, great location, and room clean and comfortable with everything you need.
Nothing not to like really.
The lady who showed me to my room was lovely and friendly and gave me lots of tips for eating locally. The breakfast was good quality and staff were efficient and friendly. The room was spotless and had everything I needed.
Lovely house on outskirts of Chester. Room was nicely decorated. Excellent shower. Good breakfast served in the hotel next door. Early check in
Could not find plug to make hairdryer work. No one available to help us out, so hair left wet!
Comfy bed, very clean room, shower worked perfectly, complimentary bottle of water and packet of crisps which was a nice touch along with tea and coffee and biscuits. Ray was very helpful and the lovely lady who did the early evening shift (sorry I didn't get her name) was great and got us drinks and snacks while we watched the England world cup match in the lounge.
The room was very small and hot especially as we were there for 3 nights and it was during the hottest week of the year so far (which is not their fault) but a fan was provided. We were told that breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10am but that there was a large party staying that liked to sit together so to avoid 9am, so we went at 9.30am and at 9.45am the breakfast lady (Deena) asked me if I was finished despite the fact that I was clearly still eating, so I said no, she then just said "be quick" which was very rude.
Merci !
Rien du tout vraiment
Nothing much to mention.
The decoration was in need of an upgrade. Breakfast was very poor.
Very comfortable bed and the bath was big and very relaxing. Staff were very polite and helpful
Only thing was ordering eggs on the way in to bteakfast, the eggs then appeared on a side plate irrespective of when you wanted them.
We stated in the Guest House. It's in a great location, 15 minute walk into Chester and 5 to nearby shops, pubs. Lovely room, very clean. Comfortable bed. I liked that you were able to restock tras/coffee and milk from a central point without having to ask. Breakfast was nice too.
The only small downside was the room temperature. There was a fan but we needed to open the window. We were in a room facing the busy main road, so unfortunately it was a little noisy.
Good
Very nice property beautiful rooms and bathroom
Schönes B & B, nur wenige Gehminuten vom Bahnhof Chester entfernt. Sehr gute Zugverbindung nach Liverpool. Das Frühstück ist auch sehr gut. Das Personal sehr freundlich.
Chambre à la décoration très soignée. Bon accueil. Bon petit déjeuner
Well location
Queue for breakfast
Loved the room it was very clean, comfortable & quiet
There was nothing I didn't like
The place was lovely, the staff great. Our room was cosy but had everything a couple needed. Table's and chairs with an umbrella outside in a secluded courtyard
We liked everything
The room large nice TV and lovely on sweet.
Nothing been twice before
Lots of extras, coffee machine, biscuits and crisps in room with water
Look tired outside but great inside
good room, good location for food and drinks
it was a bad choice for business as breakfast wasn't served until 8.00 and i had an appointment at 9.00 30min away. room didn't cool down overnigth so at 05.00 room was still 28°c
Raum und Hotel allgemein waren sehr nett bzw. stilvoll eingerichtet.
Chester House was lovely and homely, beautifully decorated. Parking was easy, and an easy walk in to Chester. The room was super spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was huge! with a jet bath and double-sized shower. The tea and coffee supplies were very generous, there was even a room outside the guest lounge where you could make yourself a coffee. The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful, booking us a taxi in to town.
Staff were very friendly & helpful, room was lovely newly decorated. Breakfast was good too
The only thing I can comment is when we got back to room Saturday evening after being out all day our room was open, can only presume cleaners forgot to lock up
Lovely hotel, lovely people. Will stay longer next time 😁
The room was really good. We had the triple room and it was comfortable for 3 of us. There were some excellent touches, such as chocolates, a mini fridge and fluffy towels. The beds were really comfortable and we all slept very well.
The main disappointment for us was the breakfast. The main woman who was in charge was rude, not only to us, but the other staff members who all looked miserable. There was only a small dining room so we had to wait for 40 minutes to get seated. This meant that nearly all the food had gone. We only got seated at 9.40am, despite arriving at 9am. The remaining food, which was mostly cold, was removed by 9.50am. It was such an awful experience, we went somewhere else for breakfast the following day. If I could score the breakfast alone it would only get one star!
Good large free carpark
Breakfast room was very small and chaotic on a busy Saturday morning
Nice staff, comfortable and clean. Added bonus of coffee machine near communal lounge to help yourself to.

Good comfortable bed, fridge in room. Close to bus stops for Chester and Liverpool. Breakfast food was nice with a good variety. Friendly staff.
Room 9 headboard, although solid, did have a creak. Breakfast tables were a little close together
Beautiful room in every way, lovely welcome.
Breakfast didn’t start until 8am on a weekday, which I therefore had to miss due to needing to be away for work commitments. They did make me up a sandwich as consolation.
Very clean and a nice comfortable bed
There's nothing really i didnt like.
colazione normale - letto troppo piccolo e sfondato. bagno mini
letto
Cosy bedroom, nice bathroom with good equipment, allow a good and deep sleep.
Nice room and very comfy bed. Noisy as on the road when windows open but tower fan provided in the room so able to put that on to cool the room.
Very rude employee in the restaurant for breakfast. She brought eggs up without asking and after only just siting down and while still having cereal. She asked us to leave as soon as we finished eating even though others were still in the restaurant and started to clean our table while we were sitting there. No yoghurts on second morning and when asked if there were any she just said no and walked away. I asked for strawberry jam as none provided on the table and she very reluctantly got one for me. Disappointing as the hotel and room is lovely but I almost didn’t even want to go down for breakfast the second morning.
Location and very comfortable beds. Good breakfast and availability of parking.
Even with fan on , the room was very stuffy with little or no airflow.
Loved it. Nice room and great breakfast
Nothing
Very clean, welcoming staff and excellent breakfast.
Nothing, all good.
The staff, the cleanliness, the food
Room was too small for us resulting in no fridge
Clean, very comfortable bed, well appointed with all necessary stuff for a stay
The breakfast were not well organised
The Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely & we loved the little patio area for sitting out in the evening.
Nothing.
Hade behövt A/C.
Location, parking, room, food.

The room and all facilities is fantastic. The situation is brilliant - the owner is also good too. Reception staff are delightful and do everything for you. The facilities are also great, - comfortable bed, great towels and showers are also good too
The breakfast situation is not ideal,a short amount of time and whenthe hotel is full it is chaos - the head of the restaurant is at time incredibly difficult and almost rude. There was shortage of cereals on both mornings we were there and the mushrooms didnt arrive at all for the cooked breakfast. No napkins the first morning - and the owner hadn't been asked to order them. I love to see businesses succeed and this place is brilliant apart from this one little piece - breakfast can be chaos.
