For us parking was a really important factor when searching for a hotel in Chester. I did an extensive search and looked at Airbnb properties and hotels. Stone Villa ticked this box for us with a dedicated on-site car park. The hotel wasn't in the centre but we didn't mind walking or getting a taxi as it wasn't far. The rooms were lovely and we are glad we opted for a hotel rather than an Airbnb. Breakfast was great, we upgraded to the cooked breakfast which was excellent. The staff were really friendly in this hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.
Nothing, it completely met our needs.
Such a lovely b&b very friendly staff nothing was to much a very clean place and good size rooms food was amazing it is a great location i would definitely go back Thank you for a lovely stay
The location was superb it was literally only a 15 minute walk to the centre. It was spotlessly clean, the room was very tidy, it was lovely and peaceful and the breakfast was excellent. It was just a lovely stay in a lovely old, but very well maintained property.

Excellent stay, thank you.
Location
Service at breakfast was dreadful 20 people and one staff to serve waiting ages for food presentation leftxa lot to be desired⁹
It’s not a 5 star accommodation in a million years on so many levels
The Location is good, very close to shops, restaurants and pubs in Hoole, only a 10 to 15 minute walk into Chester and a convenient local bus service. The room was clean, spacious, well furnished and modern fittings in the ensuite. The staff were polite and helpful.
Clean, nice decor, friendly staff, nice room.
The car parking was a nightmare. Very tight area for several cars, and whichever space you tried, it was hard to get into and even worse to get out. Only continental breakfast was included - if you want scrambled egg on toast it’s £7 extra, and full English is £9 extra. Per person. Very limited time to check in - only 3pm to 5pm.
Everything was great, wish all hotels were like this. Staff are wonderful. Room was large enough, comfortable and clean. Breakfast is fantastic, they even catered for my partner who takes a ketogenic diet and myself who is a very fussy eater. Great places to eat dinner literally round the corner. Nothing was too much trouble, the answer was invariably - "Yes, we can". Free parking too.
Honestly it would be very nitpicking to find anything. Room didn't have a bath, just a (very good) shower, but we knew that when booking and it was not a problem.
Perfect location for our purposes. Tastefully decorated.
No socket within stretching distance of a mirror to use the hairdryer, room 4. Felt the staff were a bit stretched serving breakfast at the weekend so quite slow but no major issue.
Easy parking and good location. Easy 25 min stroll to Chester centre but good pubs nearby. Sparkling bathroom - a credit to whoever cleans the rooms. Good continental breakfast but you need to pay extra for a cooked meal
13.5 tog duvet too warm for September but this is quite common and we were prepared for this.
The location was good ans set in a nice quiet location.
I was surprised that I could only have the continental breakfast unless I payed more. I dont think this was clear to me from the booking.com site. We had a pastry and it was a bit dry. Also no one on reception when we arrived.
Spotlessly clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable and airy.
The staff were amazing and it’s perfectly located for walking into town. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy with lovely en-suite. We booked a super-king bed. There’s a little fridge in the room with a bottle of water, a kettle and coffee machine. The breakfast was yummy, but we are a little boring and had porridge. Couldn’t resist the homemade banana bread, but hey, we’re on holiday! Plenty of options for breakfast. Parking is available there, which is great too. So many great restaurants. Take your pick! Lovely and peaceful too.
The shower head could have been fixed on the wall. Only a small observation! Plus I would advise asking the number plates of the cars that correspond to the rooms. The reason for this is that some guests clearly have trouble parking, or are thoughtless. That way you can identify the culprit and help others.
Well managed, great staff, Food and service
All good
It was clean and convenient Great restaurants nearby Good breakfast Friendly staff

Good location with parking space which was great. Helpful and friendly staff……
The room was spacious but very dark. The fridge in the room was totally inadequate which was disappointing. Our two night stay was not cheap so we felt the full English breakfast should be included in the price.
Stone Villa is a small boutique hotel. The rooms are well appointed. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom includes a bath and shower. There is parking on site for your car in the marked bay for your room. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. We needed more coffee capsules as the machine in the room is not the standard nespresso capsule and the staff were only too happy to provide extra coffee capsules. The hotel is located near to the city, but it is only 20 minutes walk. Breakfast was included in our booking. The fruit used for breakfast was fresh.
The breakfast was highly rated by others - but be warned if you are not a fan of a full English Breakfast or Eggs, then the selection is not as extensive. On the last day we asked for toast - we were given one slice each with only butter. I suspect that the staff are not used to people who stay at the hotel that ask for different breakfasts.
All good, staff, room etc were excellent.
Great location. Friendly staff. Lovely room....clean and nice decor. Nice little touches like tea/coffee tray and toiletries.
Very clean Staff were very nice and helpful Close to all facilities
Stairs No lift No air conditioning
Very helpful. Went out of their way to help you. Very professional and can not fault them. Lovely stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Excellent staff and facilities
Sleep was interrupted by the bed creaking when you moved
Safe motorcycle parking, quiet and peaceful, a very pleasant stay

2nd stay at stone view lodge and we will be their again next August! Great service, great parking, first class 10/10 breakfast, and a lovely comfy Room and bed
Nothing
The breakfast was more than adequate and set us up for the day.
Breakfast was ‘included’ in the price. However what Booking.com doesn’t say is that it’s for continental Breakfast only.
Bed comfort.
We stayed a couple of nights to go to the zoo. The street was extremely quiet at night and we had a great sleep. Breakfast was delicious, my partner loved the fry up and I enjoyed the homemade yogurt. The hotel/room was well decorated and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Bonus points for the neighborhood cat!
The staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival. Room comfortable, clean and good shower. Friendly service at breakfast. Good quality food. Everything was great.
Location was absolutely spot on for a quiet stay to see the sights in Chester, you are far enough away to not be bothered by noise or vast amounts of people but close enough for a short walk into the town and ideally located next to a row of shops and bars.
No air con during this heat wave made the room a little stuffy, they supplied a stand up fan but it had very little effect, also felt the bathroom wasn't great, water from the shower sprayed all over the sink and there was mould in places.
Very friendly and welcoming. The room was beautifully presented. The staff went and above and beyond to make our stay a little more special.

Clean tidy
Breakfast area was nice even though it cost an additional fee for hot food
Hotel has no AC and didn't mention this on booking.com despite it being close to 40°C, I asked for a refund shortly after booking and it was denied even though it's not mentioned on booking.com and the heat wave made the room unbearable to stay in, I checked out a day early and cancelled my plans because of this and didn't stay my second night... The room was tiny, dusty and quite dirty for a supposedly nice well rated hotel and they wouldn't refund when I called to double check if they had AC and they didn't have it ... The room must have been 30°C+ in the day and around high 20's (25°C+) to 30°C in the night, all they had was a cheap desk fan which did little to nothing to make it possible to sleep in the room. I hardly slept, so I cancelled my plans and checked out early... Not happy at all with this stay and I won't ever go back, worst and most disappointing stay I've ever had in my life, they need more accurate photos that don't make the room look big and to be more transparent on the booking.com with the hotel details especially the fact it has no AC and the room needs to be cleaned better... Thick layers of dust everywhere which was terrible for my allergies... I would rather 0/10 if it was possible
Breakfast was good. Continental breakfast was included. Cooked breakfast was charged but reasonable price
I think a few tweaks. We put the sign out for our room to be made up. The quilt was just pulled up. No cushions put back, no milk, biscuits replaced so we had to ask. Plug in bath did not fit. I think a bit more attention to the cleaning would be good. Tissue box was dusty.
Lovely room and facilities
The room was so hot over night that it was insufferable. A very hot day so I’m sure in better weather it would be comfortable. Location was a bit out of the centre of town
Very well kitted-out hotel in a great location - easy to find and in reach of the town centre, but also quiet and private. The bed linen was great. I liked the fact that a good continental breakfast was included, though there was the option to pay for more elaborate breakfast options.
Nothing really. The only thing I noticed was that there wasn't a soap dispenser in the bathroom for washing hands - it's fiddly to unscrew the shower gel bottle with wet hands.
Lovely stay here. Staff were very attentive. Definitely recommend 😁
good sized clean and smart rooms with one of the best beds I've had the pleasure to sleep in.
Great location and lovely room with everything we needed. Friendly helpful staff
Good cooked breakfast, but it was at an extra cost. Comfortable bed.
Car park small but there's a pay and display car park next door. For us the distance into town centre was too far at over 20 minutes. Continental breakfast was basic minimum.
Continentaal ontbijt is inbegrepen.
The facilities in the room
Far away from Chester centre
Lovely place to stay, exceptionally clean and provided a great breakfast, will be back to enjoy again, soon.
Lovely and cosy.
Everything was great.
Location and parking
Nothing
Beautiful decor and facilities Free parking Helpful staff
Slightly out of town but within walking distance.
A very nice large, well equipped room. Hoole is a nice part of Chester with good restaurants and independent shops.
No air conditioning. I fully accept that this is not the hotel's fault in an old property but it was annoying to find, as we were checking we hadn't left anything behind before leaving, ths there was a large plug-in fan hidden away in the wardrobe which noone had told us about. Given the high ratings for the hotel, and the price paid, I found the service very "beige" and characterless. It smacked of absentee owners a little. Disappointed to find there was no bar and to have to pay extra for cooked food at breakfast.
Good
Bedroom was very nice
Staff and service were poor and below expectations
Convenient and accessible even though no staff on
Too warm, but warm night anyway but the mirror heater had been left on!
Clean, quiet, good quality furniture etc
Parking a bit tight but option of out of bay parking if you speak to staff
Lovely quiet position. Rooms luxury woth tea and coffee anf fridge Large bathroom with bath and shower. Easy access out of hours
All good
Good standard of room and quiet.
Nothing really.
Excellent place to stay from start to finish. First time there and definitely go again. Rooms laid out well.and really quiet. Enjoyed the breakfast and good parking options as well. Sat outside in early evening when we got back enjoying the sunshine. Staff good at their jobs too.
Personally nothing
Nice clean room and good breakfast (though only the continental breakfast is free)
I specifically did a filtered search for a room with a bath, and this was confirmed by the picture and list of facilities, but on arrival there was no bath. Staff didn't seem particularly bothered about fixing this. Another bugbear (and many hotels do this now) is that even if your room is available they won't let you check-in a little earlier without paying. As a weary traveller it would be such a nice gesture to be able to have the room a little early if it is ready - this costs the hotel nothing! Amid this mercenary attitude, impersonal fixed messages asking whether the stay is meeting expectations and offering to do anything to help make the stay more pleasant smacks of fake hospitality.
B&B off main Hoole road no traffic noise at all. Good shower Plenty of milk on the fridge.
Continental breakfast was basic in quality variety and standard. Beds were uncomfortable and creaked as you turned over. Staff did not seem to know anything ..no maps of Chester ect… Not a 4 star b and b
Bed was comfortable, room was clean
We arrived in the evening and were greeted by a young woman in shorts and a t-shirt who gave us minimum information and seemed very keen to go back to what she was doing. The room was on the ground floor and was dark and a bit depressing. There was a connecting door to the next room so noise from the couple in the next room was evident all night - even though they were only moving around and occasionally talking. (I had asked for a quiet room at time of booking as I am a light sleeper.) The next day I took the 'Do not disturb' sign off the door as we were out for the day, but when I returned, the room had not been made up and so nothing had been replenished. I wanted a shower before we went out in the evening so went to ask for another shower gel as the tiny one in the bathroom had all gone when my husband and I had showered that morning. The girl on reception gave me another tiny single bottle! We didn't bother having breakfast on our last morning, but I picked up a single croissant on my way through and it wasn't very fresh. I don't really know how other people can have rated this hotel superb but I wish I hadn't been swayed by this when choosing a hotel in Chester. Added to all this, the hotel is quite a trek from the town centre - we are keen walkers but it took 25 minutes to get to the theatre that evening on foot.
We liked the location, decor, free parking and continental breakfast included.
Due to the hot weather, and no fault of the hotel staff, we had to try to sleep with the window open and the fan on. This proved difficult because of the noise outside and the sound of the fan.
Everything. Location and Staff excellent
Very nice, lovely room and good breakfast
There was no air con and we stayed during one of the hottest weeks of the year
The room and kindness of personel
Great location, Hoole is a vibrant lovely little district and its an easy walk into Chester City Centre. Easy to find and great parking - lovely stay!
Location is great, private parking
5* mentioned is self assessment, place is nice, but equal to 2-3* hotel. Breakfast is a bit ridiculous: continental is incl but rest is paid (though it is not specified on booking). Continental breakfast was very poor, croissants from yesterday (really bad ones..), milk, tea / coffee. And this is for 220 pounds per night. Defo not quality / value expected.
Cannot fault my stay. Lovely stay in this Villa which had everything I needed, It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The Villa was close to local shops, pubs, bars, & restaurants in Hoole, but was also just a 5-10 minutes walk to the station, and only another 5 minutes puts you in the City centre.
Nothing to report here.
The room
The whole place was soul less
Well placed, good car parking, friendly staff
Nil
Lovely staff and atmosphere
I did like it but if i had to be picky. The Car park was cramped i struggled to park properly. Room was quite small in size, wasn't really next to anything had to drive around to find places. Hot breakfast was extra.
Clean , tidy , quiet and good location
No staff , minimal continental breakfast .
Location, room and staff.breakfast was well organised with Amy

Quiet location and helpful staff
No evening meal availability but there are some restaurants nearby
The whole experience was fantastic. Gorgeous clean and modern room. Loverly breakfast menu. Will definitely stay again.
Nothing

Close to the high street and restaurants.
The room was not sound proofed and umfortunatelly I had very loud couple next door. I need to bang ( with unpluged table lamp) to calm the next door people down. Also, external staircases very squiky.
The cleanliness of the rooms. Polite staff and superb breakfast.
Noisy guests above us.
Very comfortable, great base to stay in Chester
Convenient for the railway station. Big bed.
Asked twice before arrival about secure bike storage and were assured we would be shown where to put them, but no one was available on arrival and no instructions were left. No milk in the room for tea and coffee and no one to ask, so I went to the co-op. We were asked to book a time for breakfast but it was not ready for us then - chef went to buy fruit from the local shop.
Allt var bra! Bra, rent, modernt och funktionellt rum inkl badrum. Jättetrevlig personal. Mycket god frukost. Parkering bredvid hotellet. Sällskapsspel att låna.
Inget.
Quiet and convenient location. Luxurious and comfortable rooms. Amazing and healthy breakfast.
Nothing
The area was quiet but with good things nearby, the room spacious and comfortable.
The bed was quite soft and warm. The fan was not very strong, and the fridge did not keep much cool.
It is a lovely modern hotel, the staff are lovely and very helpful.
Parking and location to walk to city was quite good.
Room was very hot even with window open.
Easy to get to, easy walk into town.
There was no AC and it was in the middle of a heatwave very hot.
A nice spot in a calm street, besides the complementary breakfast you can order English style features at additional cost. Good for both business and leisure occasions.
You need a pin number to get in as early as 6pm. This number is sent less than 24 hours before arrival. When you travel and maybe you have restricted e-mail access, this is not very good, especially because the fact that you need a pin is not announced during the booking.
Loved the decor and the location is only a 15-20 minute walk away from Chesters town Centre. Staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival and during breakfast service. We stayed in one of the superior suites, bed was comfortable and a decent size and we both had a great night's sleep. Bathroom was nicely decorated and the room had a number of amenities such as, Iron, Ironing board, hairdryer, water, teas, coffees and biscuits. There is parking directly outside as well which is an added bonus.
Couple of things worth mentioning which are easy fixes and not necessarily something that's going to impact everyone. The glass carafe that contained the water had a funny taste and smell, I'm pretty certain that this was due to the cork (Lid) being submerged in the water due to the carafe being too full. Minor I know but it meant we couldn't drink the water, just something to bare in mind in the future. The shower hose in room 1 is leaking and likely needs replacing, tried tightening it but seems to be coming from further down the hose. Coffee at Breakfast, ordered a latte and if I'm being honest it tasted like it was from a sachet, which at the price point we paid for our stay I hope that's not the case.
Nice building and room
Room was very small. Mini bar was not properly stocked. Continental breakfast was cereal and packet pastires which were dry. I had thought the location was central as I had searched for city centre but I accept i didn't check properly.
Lovely boutique hotel. Rooms nicely decorated and modern. Staff friendly. Breakfast lovely.
No air conditioning in heatwave, but they supplied a fan.
Lovely rooms, really clean and staff were really friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful
The city centre is a bit of a walk, doable though
Lovely hotel stayed a few times. Rooms were spotless. Lovely breakfast. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Was gorgeous spotless staff so friendly
We had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. We would highly recommend it and look forward to staying again.
I was contacted when we arrived home to advise that we needed to pay for our cooked breakfast. When I queried this as the booking stated that breakfast was included. I was told that only the continental breakfast was included and that cooked breakfast was additional charges. Unfortunately this was not made clear on the booking website I wanted to highlight this for future guests as the wording “breakfast included’ could easily be interpreted as including full cooked breakfast. It’s worth being aware that you may still have to pay extra if you choose cooked breakfast.
Comfy room, good staff, and great location.
Fridge could be ALOT colder.
Nothing. Appalling and rude staff. Not given the accommodation for which I'd booked and paid. Location is typically one of cheap pubs second-hand clothes shops and a long bus ride from the centre. Inconceivable that it could have a 5-star. 98% rating.a truly miserable place to stay.
Everything. See above.
