We were expecting a hot tub from the pics and description but it has been moved. We also had an issue with the upstairs bedroom leaking into our bed - staff resolved this very quickly tho (just couldn't use upstairs shower)

In unserem Zimmer gab es leider keine Badezimmertür, was sehr unangenehm ist. Die Dusche und die Toilette sind frei zugänglich ohne wirkliche Abgrenzung.

Reviewed Apr 16, 2026Grandioses Frühstück, Estate ist umgeben von Bergen. Der Pool lädt zum Entspannen ein und die Möglichkeit für eine Massage ist besteht ebenso. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Super Personal. De Hoop ist nicht weit entfernt (ca. 60km Off-road). Ideal für einen ersten Stopp kommend aus Kapstadt nach einem langen Flug.
Leider ist das Estate dennoch schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und beim genaueren hinschauen gibt es doch ein oder andere Mängel.

Grundsätzlich war alles sauber und gepflegt, entsprach aber keinem 5 Sterne Standard. Beim Frühstück gab es z.B. als „Säfte“ zuckrige Getränke; der Pool war trübe mit einem Film an der Oberfläche.

Had a delightful yoga session. Good recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was exceptional. Beautifully presented on the terrace. We only wished we had another night here.

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026De Kloof Heritage Estate is an amazingly beautiful and very charming place , which largely exceeded our expectations. Our Family room was stunning , so beautifully appointed , spacious and super charming and comfortable . Our son of 12 years loved his room upstairs , it was so cosy. Breakfast was incredible , croissants , yoghurts with all kinds of muesli , fruits and on the side jams and honey , all on the lovely terrace under the oak trees . The staff and also the owner of the estate is super friendly and helpful, we really felt very welcomed.
There is absolutely nothing that we did not like .Everything is perfect and tasteful.

Het was allemaal een beetje ouderwets en zeker geen 5 sterren waard. In de avond geen turn down dus ook geen water en extra verzorging. Dat moet niet kunnen voor een 5 sterren hotel.

Reviewed Mar 12, 2026Sehr freundlicher Empfang, ruhige Lage, tolles Ambiente im denkmalgeschützten Haupthaus. Unser Zimmer „Chardonnay“ war sehr geräumig, das Bad sehr groß und hell, die Betten bequem. Sehr freundlicher und sehr guter Service. Frühstück a la carte und sehr liebevoll auf der morgens sonnigen Terrasse serviert, Schattenplätze sind auch vorhanden. Der Pool ist sehr gepflegt mit Blick auf die Berge. Sehr gepflegte, parkähnliche Anlage. Großer Parkplatz auf dem Gelände. Wer nicht mehr in die Stadt will, bekommt ein kleines Dinner, wir hatten ein wunderbares Curry. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt werden nächstes Jahr für 2 Nächte wiederkommen.

Gary was just a bit quirky. He said he hadn’t been bitten by mosquitoes which may be true but we all got bitten at the pool. If he said we could do with mosquitoe spray that would have been helpful. He booked us a taxi who then ripped us off. Which wasn’t a disaster but it was annoying. Then at breakfast got huffy when we chose a table in the sun not the shade.

Rose , haben wir gewählt in welchem wir uns von der ersten sekunde zu 100% wohlgefühlt haben. Das Frühstück, der Garten, Poolbereich, Nachtessen empfehlung, alles war super. Werden bestimmt wieder kommen und länger bleiben.

We hadden hier ook graag gedineerd, zo goed was alles, maar de staff heeft ons geadviseerd en wilde graag voor ons reserveren in één van de nabijgelegen restaurants. Geadviseerd werd niet te gaan lopen.

Reviewed Feb 8, 2026Alles!!! Wat een fantastisch verblijf! We werden heel vriendelijk ingecheckt met thee en een warm doekje om ons beetje op te frissen . Onze kamer was fantastisch mooi. Heel sfeervol en een zalige badkamer met een heerlijke douche. Een top ontbijt buiten op het terras met zeer vriendelijk personeel. Het zwembad ligt lekker rustig en als je zin hebt in een drankje komen ze dat brengen . Luxe alom . Heerlijke massages gehad en een privé yoga/ klankschaal sessie 🙏🏻ja dit is genieten in de Kloof! Een echte aanrader . De eigenaresse Marjolein is een fantastische gastvrouw en niet vergeten Jacco die hier zorgt voor tuin, zwembad en met alle liefde je koffers draagt! Wij komen terug !!!!

The location was excellent and tucked away at the edge of town but close to all amenities and with the backdrop of mountains, lovely gardens and very tranquil. All staff were very pleasant and more than helpful
For a 5* hotel I thought that some of the finer details were missing, eg there were only two bath towels and two hand towels daily, tea and coffee was limited, we had to ask for extra teabags ( two of each variety daily, most people only like one variety) and extra sugar ( in sachets), milk was individual long life sachets, not fresh milk. Unusually there was no sewing kit and no slippers
