Great location 10 minutes walk to the harbour.bus stop right outside food was brilliant and value for money .bingo and evening entertainment was great you have everything you need in one place

Disgusted that member of staff entered my room when I wasn’t decent. Reported to the manager but they didn’t seem to care much and no compensation was offered.

My wife and I booked this hotel for weekend Friday 04/09/2026 until Sunday 06/09/2026. We received notification that we would need the bank card we used to make reservation and a photo id , passport , but this included photo car licence , bus pass and passport pictures on phone. We were also advised overnight bags could be stored in reception ahead of check in. We arrived by train and left our bags at reception but a very pleasant man on the desk, filled out all the paperwork ahead of check in and also offered refurbished room with walk in shower and new beds for £20 more for the 2 nights , we took this option and was given room 341 ( well satisfied). The room was clean and comfortable with soap and shower gel dispenser's provided There is a few steps to access but lifts take to most areas. There is a restaurant offering breakfasts and evening meals , we didn't take up the offer. There is also an indoor swimming pool which looked clean and well presented (didn't use) but be aware room towels should not be used and a £10 charge is needed for towels. There is a entertainment bar with entertainment , we had a comedian Friday and a Shirley Bassey take off Saturday all good. The hotel is warm and clean and it falls about midway between town and the train station with good transport links, even passes the hotel. We would use this hotel again.

Pas de connexion Wifi dans les chambres. La chambre est restee dans son jus ..., les tetes de lit sont abimees, la chambre est mal aeree (les serviettes ne sechent pas), absence d'ampoule dans un luminaire. J'emets des doutes sur la proprete de la moquette ...

Very disappointing stay — rude and unhelpful staff We booked this hotel for two nights and were extremely disappointed with both the facilities and the service. The room had no air conditioning, no fridge, and no drinking water. During the night, one of the fans in our room wasn’t working, so I went downstairs to ask a staff member for another fan. Instead of trying to help, I was spoken to very rudely and told that they did not have another fan and that I would need to buy my own. The staff members were rude and unhelpful from the moment we arrived, which made the whole experience even worse. The customer service was absolutely unacceptable. For what we paid, we expected basic facilities and respectful treatment from the staff. Unfortunately, we received neither. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Very poor service and extremely rude staff.

Excellent value short break, good breakfast and super value for money evening buffet. Room was clean and tidy with a big comfortable bed and lovely patio area. Highly recommend for a quick getaway.

The location, as in it was close to the sea. The reception and catering staff were friendly and polite.

The hotel is on multiple levels, with stairs everywhere; it's a real rabbits warren. We were blessed with great weather and hot days. The Sports Bar refused to give me a glass of ice; it was "against their policy" apparently. The room was described as a "Refurbished with Balcony" the photos on booking.com only show the bed, the bathroom shower and the table on the balcony. The photos I believe are strategic. Based on rooms on adjacent floors in the same wing, which are more modern and recently decorated, the room I was in was not as described and not "refurbished". To top it all, the balcony felt unsteady and was covered in places in bird guano. I've written to the hotel and booking.com, and followed it up...and neither have acknowledged in over 2 weeks.

Young Man on reception been doing a scam for months asking people if they want a refurbished room for an extra £5 a night when almost all the rooms have been refurbished already.Is he on commission if so he's making a lot of money.

I would like to raise a complaint regarding my recent experience. The bathroom flush tank was not functioning properly, and the carpet in the room had visible stains. In addition, I was very disappointed by the conduct of the restaurant manager. While the supervisor was assisting me by warming my food in the restaurant, the manager shouted at me and spoke to me in a very rude and disrespectful manner. His behaviour was not only inappropriate towards me as a guest, but also towards his employee, Martin, who was simply trying to assist me. I found the manager’s conduct highly unprofessional and unacceptable. A manager should demonstrate respect and professionalism towards both guests and staff, particularly in a customer-facing environment. Based on this experience, I believe his behaviour should be reviewed by senior management. I hope this matter will be taken seriously and that appropriate action will be taken to ensure that guests and employees are treated with courtesy and respect in the future.

Easy access to the town centre

Mould painted over, bed was broken, the operations manager was rude and sarcastic, the room was dirty, the WiFi is only in communal areas NOT in the rooms.

Superb location, kind and well prepared staff, decent swimming pool.

The breakfast didn't have barely any vegan and dairy free options available. My dairy intolerant child couldn't quite enjoy breakfast as a whole. No signs of allergens and virtually no selection of healthy food choices. Raw vegetables, dairy free yoghurt, dairy free porridge, meat free sausage and alike are pretty much standard anywhere these days. I asked for plant based milk for my coffee, were promised oat, got soy and we got a tiny jugful for 2 people. Plenty of room for improvement in this.

breakfast was awful, (burnt sausages, limited options and fruit and yogurt looked and tasted gone off), having seen the good reviews for the breakfast we were surprised by how bad it was. Also no vegetarian options and needed to ask them at reception. Also very limited plug sockets, dated shower in the room - only bathtub with fixed shower head. The swimming pool didn't look as nice as the photo and the showers soap's containers were empty.

As this was my second stay this summer then l guess that speaks for itself. The hotel is clean, in an excellent location, the staff are Brilliant, always there to help and have a great sense of humour (when dealing with some people that's a miracle!) The facilities are fabulous, a pool, two bars,buffet style restaurant,entertainment and the location is great, a short walk to the beach, bus stops and train station. Yes l would recommend and obviously yes l would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Close to beach, nice and clean, breakfast was hot n tasty, swimming pool was nice never busy when we went in but we went in the evening. Staff all friendly. They have a lots of stairs in the hotel but also chair lifts if needed. Our room had a balcony which was nice.

All the stairs to the rooms lol we were 3rd floor, the rooms numbers were well sign posted but still got lost a few times, but its not a bad thing really as I got my steps in for the day lol.

Poor dinner selection and was overcooked all the time, all of which seemed like poor quality ingredients. Signs in hotel: You MUST wear your wristband, and if you lose your wristband you will be charged £1. Also sign on the lift: NO MORE THAN 2 PERSONS PLUS LUGGAGE IN THE LIFT AT ANY ONE TIME ANY MORE THAN THIS AND THE LIFT WILL OVERLOAD. YOU WILL BECOME TRAPPED AND BE LIABLE FOR A £300.00 CALL OUT CHARGE! always seemed chaotic. Wouldn’t stay there again, unfortunately because I wanted to like it but it was a let down.

we decided to have the breakfast on the last day before returning home sorry to say but it was a disappointment the food was over cooked not at all worth the money as it was a buffet service I feel it was left to long

Swimming pool and balcony

The hotel was full of bus trippers. This meant that early morning breakfast was a must before going on planned excursions. The restraunt was very busy at this time. The staff worked hard to keep up with good replenishment and table clearing. A good selection of food was available. Bed was comftable. Although bedrooms looked a bit dreary. Good ole magnolia paint . Bathroom was a challenge. Shower was over the bath. Mixed your own temperature on the taps. Then if you put too much pressure into the shower, it had a mind of irs own. It would spray everywhere. Soaking all of the bathroom. Making floors dangerous. We had to use the towels to mop up the floor. Evening meal was a carvery. Deserts were excellent.

I have mobility issues so had a problem with the location. The busses had stopped going up the hill. We had to walk down to a bus stop on the main road. That's not the hotels fault; but was a minus for me. We had to call taxis which bumped up our budget

The room was spacious, the window seats were a real bonus! The beds were super comfortable and the duck down pillows were the icing on the cake. Very clean. Friendly staff. Top entertainment. Sea views. Great atmosphere. Lovely food.

The rooms need refurbishing and window replacements, although the room itself was very clean.

Check in guy was extremely unprofessional I saw the card I used to make my book on booking app and him told wasn’t the card after I saw my 2 another card and him tell not the card him said was make mistake seen another client booking reservations I feel stressed, also no internet in the room and him asked if want upgrade room for have internet in the room was 10 pounds more ( never been on a hotel that not offer internet in the room). No fridge in the room and heats not work .

The drain in the bathroom was very smelly. It was very hot in the room and I couldnt open the windows as they opened onto the car park and it would have been easy for someone to get in. I asked about plant based breakfast and was told it was not available.

Avoid would not stay here again, would not recommend it.

Hidden charges if you use booking.com, they will charge you £9 more at the reception when you arrive for a parking charge. It’s a hidden charge as a punishment to Guest who use booking.com. It’s the hotel’s way of passing the commission charge on to the customer and shows complete lack of integrity by the hotel who don’t mind booking.com filling their rooms every night so they can secretly charge Guest the hidden cost.booking.com said they was unaware of this. But will investigate the hotel

Bed was very comfy. We stayed in a balcony room so it was nice to have the space outside to sit in the evening.

The room was advertised as a refurbished room, this I think was incorrect the carpet was stained and had a large burn mark on it, the walls needed repainting the shower needed updating. The cleaning of the room was not the best either with lots of dust and bits under the bed which I only saw has we were leaving because I dropped my bracelet.

It was welcoming, clean, and was overall a pleasant stay.

Was a bit noisy outside I suppose, we were in one of the bungalows. But, to be honest, it’s high season, it was a Saturday night, so, not unexpected.

We were in one of the newly renovated rooms which was lovely, everything was exceptionally clean. The food was much better than l have experienced elsewhere in Torquay (l have been a frequent visitor to the area over many years) both bars were clean and comfortable and the hotel gives a more modern vibe than many of the hotels which really is essential for the futurer of all the hotels as well as itself. The pool was a nice suprise too! Absolutely worth a visit, there may be renovation works ongoing as the whole place is being done but it's got to be done sometime eh?

Here's my one gripe, the entertainment was the same as it was 20 odd years ago. Yes l get that the clientele are mostly elderly but as the biggest dancefloor filler was The Killers Human, it should tell you all you need to know, something post 1970 would be a start, if you're 60 something now you were a 20 something in the 80s, let's move with the times! Just something to add, we were hearing other people complain about their rooms, which must've been the non renovated ones or else they were just "that person" as we couldn't fault ours.

A classic seaside hotel. From the moment you are there, you are looked after - great staff, great room, great food. There's a Sports Bar, nightclub and swimming pool. A fabulous family hotel. I really cannot believe how little the room cost - the breakfast was included!

No marmite in the breakfast room! Being given a wrist tag to wear while there (I didn't conform with that!)

Location was perfect, room was spacious and having the patio was also perfect.

Staff at the hotel were great, had a couple of issues before I went and staff weren't very accommodating with my issues.
