The Legian Seminyak, Bali

We literally did not leave the hotel. We could not get enough of the view, and the sense of much needed calm. The breakfast is sublime, and the restaurant service was exceptionally good.

We were disappointed with the in room dining. All our meals across the three evenings were lukewarm.

Great resort and wonderful staff.

The beach was red flagged for the duration of our stay unfortunately.

The combination of beautiful surroundings, a wonderful beach, an excellent location, and genuinely welcoming staff made this experience truly special. Staying at the Legian was the best decision my daughter and I made on our trip to Bali. We have been to this beautiful island countless times and stayed at many beautiful villas and hotels here but the Legian exceeds them all. The ocean views from everywhere in the hotel are simply stunning, the grounds are so lovely and well maintained, our room and bed were extremely comfortable, and your every need is anticipated. But what truly sets the Legian apart is the professionalism and warm hospitality of every single staff member. We felt welcomed and cared for like family from the very beginning. When we had a minor health issue in the middle of the night, the genuine concern and help that the staff offered was so reassuring. After that, everyone continued to check in on us with such gentle kindness. We had a dream stay and cannot wait to be back !

Wonderful stay and amazing stuff! Breakfast and dinner were delicious. We had a wonderful room with view to the beach. The cleaning of the room was always immaculate.

I came back to the Legian after 2 years. This time, with a last minute booking, no villa available at the Club so I chose the unique room still available - sea front. Another great experience indeed. The hotel is calm, very well maintained, the staff is very kind and the location is perfect. One thing to note: the ocean is not quite… even during the night! It took me 2 nights to teach my brain it was a peaceful noise and not a way to be awake! Once this course done, the nights were fantastic in a very confortable bed.

What an amazing hotel! The rooms all have ocean views, the service is friendly and helpful but not all over you, the breakfast is wonderful and the facilities are outstanding. It is rare to find such a perfect gem! Note that the ocean here is quite rough, but the pools and perfect sunset location make up for it.

Our family stayed at The Club by The Legian from July 25 to August 1. Our family was cared for by Honi Butler and YUDA Driver. They greeted us every day with a smile and took great care of us with great devotion. We received more service than the hotel cost we paid, and this made our family decide that we would stay at this hotel again next time. I hope I can meet these two of you again next time. Although it’s late, I sincerely thank Honi Butler and YUDA Driver. * We also run a company. So I know very well how precious manpower is. Top notch experience in every way. Beautiful spacious 2 bedroom suite for the family, service impeccable, pool area luxurious and relaxing. No corners were cut at all. Would gladly return and highly recommend.

The second you pass through the gates of The Legian you enter a haven of peace, relaxation and the highest quality of service delivered by the most charming and professional staff, from the reception staff to the cleaners, the pool attendants to the waiters and waitresses. In fact, everyone. The location is on a quiet stretch of the beach in Seminyak with uncluttered views out to sea and across the rolling waves to gorgeous sunsets in the evening. Yet it is set close to the buzz and vibrancy of Seminyak shopping and a huge variety of restaurants and bars Rooms are large, elegantly furnished with local furniture, large balconies, and spacious bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas plus a small kitchen regularly topped up with snacks, fruit and drinks. The three pools cater for the serious swimmer, children and families but never appear crowded and the space around them is not dominated by a mass of sunbeds as is the case in so many other hotels. Breakfast is superb with a full range of Asian and western food. Dining options are also excellent whether from the pool bars or the main dining room We’ve returned for the sixth time because the place is just so perfectly relaxing and we always feel so welcome.

As always, The Legian stands out amongst hotel legends for their attention to detail and quality of the staff. Food and beverage in each of the dining options well priced and great variety for Indonesian and international options. Breakfast as always a hit (although coffee can be hit and miss). We loved the time to just re-charge and stop. Highly recommend.

An unbelievable hotel, stunning location with beach access. The entire hotel is immaculate, rooms are huge and beautifully equipped with large balconies and sumptuous seating areas in the lounge. The beds are enormous and comfortable. The dining experience was excellent with a glorious breakfast choice, a wonderful afternoon tea thrown in every day and bar snacks to keep you going before dinner. The Wellness Suite is superb with a well equipped gym, an excellent range of classes including yoga every morning and tranquil and luxurious spa treatments. The staff were simply outstanding. We have never had such incredible service, and we've experience the middle east which is known for it's brilliance. This is certainly on par and more. The entire operation is run by the delightfully brilliant Mr Maximilian, who was there each morning, gliding through the breakfast hall to great his guests. More impressively, he knew everyone by their first name! Nothing was a problem and any issued was resolved without fuss or delay. He asked to name key staff to reward them - please reward them all - they all deserve it! And don't forget the amazing gardeners who keep the grounds looking pristine, lush and tropical - an absolute haven of tranquility and relaxation. Thank you for making our holiday so special. Arriving to a breathtaking view, the ocean looked so inviting. The staff from the GM Maximilian down were kind and gentle. The resort is in need of an update and it’s pleasing to hear that there are plans. The beach house lighting, bathrooms etc need an upgrade and gates etc reviewed. The Restaurant was very busy and chefs stretched to get meals out. I think this resort needs 2 restaurants. All in all our holiday was restful and we will be back! Look forward to hearing when the beach house is updated.

From the moment we arrived for our 10-day stay, we received nothing but exceptional service, comfort, and the beautiful Balinese hospitality. Special shout-out to Nopi and the crew at the Sunset Bar. Evening drinks after a big day were always a highlight. The Restaurant was also fantastic, with great choice, and we were lucky to be there when Chef Chris Malone was visiting; the Steak and Jazz night was great. As were the staff, with special mention to the breakfast crew, Winnie, Dewa and Ashi. Awesome! The general grounds and shared facilities were clean and well kept. There is some renovation of rooms going on, which is needed as our room was a bit dated. But this didn't distract from our overall experience. Looking forward to being back there next year!

We have had the best time of our lives in Bali, as first time visitors! We celebrated our 20th anniversary and the experience was beyond our belief. The Legian Seminyak has by far shown what true service is all about. The intention behind every request, and the extra thoughtfulness, followed by the commitment to customer satisfaction…absolutely amazing. The property is breathtaking, but more importantly the place feels like a home. We’re from the United States, and we’ve stayed in plenty of high-end hotels across the world, and we have our top three, but this hotel surpassed them all. It’s not about the name brand and amount of perks included with the room. It was about the unsaid things, that blew us away and we will always remember. From the concierge helping with recommendations and itineraries, food, club, and excursions (each one being 100% on point to our liking, and more importantly to our taste), to the start of each day…the staff is superb. The rooms, always smelled good and refreshed throughout the day…the housekeeping was pristine and detailed! The breakfast…the start to our day…made us want to stay at the hotel and never leave. Every day was different, and they were able to modify each offering for any food allergies. They always had plenty of everything and we never had a dull meal. I mean seriously, they catered to every need and fulfilled all our wishes. This hotel provides the freshest, tastiest, and most mouthwatering dishes! After every long day, we would return to the hotel and feel so good entering the lobby, smiles on our faces always…love in our hearts and most importantly…peace. I can go on and on, and if we could go back more often we would…but be sure of it…we will be back!! Thank you!!’

Absolutely phenomenal first class hotel right on the beach. I compare it to the legendary Plaza Hotel in New York in the 1960's -- astonishing service, amazing staff, incredible food, and absolute ocean front location. I'll never forget the breakfast buffet!!

It was a perfect stay, the general manager was very professional and made sure that we had a wonderful time.

Well, it’s an elegant property. The 2 bedrooms suite worked well for our family. The Legian’s food was much improved to when we stayed 4 years ago. It was good. The pools are beautiful. Kids enjoyed the kids club. Sadly for me and the Legian I won’t be back to Seminyak though. The hotel is spotless but the area is filthy. The ocean stank of sewage at low tide. I surfed at the front and got Bali belly 2 days later. Which I am convinced was from the ocean. The Legian carries a dream of Bali that’s no longer and it does it beautifully. However step outside and you are in for a rude awakening. Trash, traffic, pollution. Anyone who’s been to Bali knows.

The Legian is a beautiful hotel and the whole experience there exceeding our expectations. Each staff member was extremely helpful, friendly and professional, from the security guards to the reception staff to the people in the restaurant. The food was fantastic and it is overall a beautiful place to stay.

I would go as far to say this is the best hotel I have stayed in They have excellent staff who treat the guests as individuals and always by name which is impressive given the size of the hotel The rooms are large (we have an ocean view suite) and very comfortable The restaurant is a very high standard serving meals with fresh ingredients. When we were there they had a guest Michelin starred chef two nights, but even then the price was very good value

Third time back to this exceptional hotel in 13 years and it’s as excellent as always. Timeless luxury hotel, service is impeccable - cannot fault anything from the beautiful pools, to gardens, to beach position, to the grandeur of the rooms. We had a 2 bed apartment which is amazing for families. Tea coffee snacks and drinks in the kitchen are a bonus. Nothing is too much for the staff at this hotel - they go out of their way to please you. Shops and cafes on doorstep. 3 min walk to Seminyak square. Great morning walk into Legian and Kuta. Can only dream of returning. No where else better.

We had been looking forward to returning to The Legian ever since our first stay last year, and it was at least as good as we remembered. The setting is difficult to beat. The hotel sits directly on a long stretch of beach, with the sound of the waves always in the background. At the same time, it feels remarkably calm and private, even though the restaurants and shops of Seminyak are only a few minutes away. What makes the biggest difference, though, is the team. The service is attentive and personal, but always relaxed and natural. Many guests return regularly, and we fully understand why!

This was our second time and we loved it again. The location, the views. the food, the accomodation but most of all the staff. So friendly and helpful. We love The Legian Seminyak for all those reasons but special mention to it's wellness facilities. Sauna, cold plunge, steam room, hot pool gym, massage and much more!

We had an outstanding stay at The Legian Seminyak. The suite was extremely lavish, spacious, and absolutely stunning. The overall experience felt premium from the moment we arrived until check-out. The staff deserves special mention. Everyone was warm, courteous, friendly, and genuinely enjoyed interacting with guests. What made the stay even more special was that the staff knew us by name and even remembered our preferences from the previous day. That personal attention made us feel truly valued. The beachside restaurant was one of the highlights of our stay. The sunset views, beachfront setting, and live jazz performance created a memorable and elegant experience. The three infinity pools next to the beach were also excellent and added beautifully to the resort atmosphere. The high tea experience was fabulous, with lovely snacks and great service. In-room dining was also very good; the food was served beautifully, and the team made the experience feel special. The gym was top-notch and very well maintained. Check-out was smooth, and the airport drop experience was handled very well. Overall, we loved The Legian Seminyak — the room, the service, the food, the views, and the attention to detail. It was a truly memorable luxury stay, and we would be happy to return.

We have visited Bali many times, but this was the first time at The Legian, it did not disappoint. We booked the Beach House, it was incredible and Merta our butler was amazing. Everything about the hotel was First Class, from the Service, the Food, Location, Wine & Champagne selection was all exceptional, and we thought the prices were reasonable too. We saw turtles laying eggs on the beach right in front of the hotel, and even some eggs hatching, an amazing place👍😎

An easy walking distance to good restaurants and Seminyak Square. A relaxed, high-end beachside vibe. Our suite was comfortable and clean - and the BOSE sound system was a great in-room amenity. Peacefrul and quite in our suite and around the property. Staff attention to detaill, in all depoartments, was greatly appreciated. The food - excellent! And the inclusion of afternoon tea capped off a brilliant stay. Everything was fabulous! :)

We have been coming to Bali for over 35 years with my wife and love the Seminyak area. First time at The Legian and absolutely loved it. Each room has a view of the beach and are magnificent. The staffs attention to detail was refreshing. We asked that our room be done every day at 9am and 6am and done like clockwork. Eddie the manager greeted us at dinner and was exceptionally welcoming. If I was to find a fault it would be when staying a long time I would have liked a bigger buffet at breakfast but the à la carte had a good selection. Thanks to all the staff

We have been staying in this hotel for many years and have always found the staff and management to be very friendly, caring and always happy to help with anything requested to make our stay very enjoyable. It is located on the perfect position in Seminyak, right on the beach. Only a short walk into Seminyak square. The hotel suites were always kept very clean and plenty of water always supplied. Spacious day beds by the pool area and always plenty of options. The restaurant and bar staff very attentive and the food was great.

The club/resort is beautiful. Our villa had a lovely yard with a pool. The 30 meter lap pool/other pools are beautiful. The entire team provided excellent/5 star service, especially Gita. Gita was instrumental in making our stay memorable.. He arranged private tours, laundry service, restaurant recommendations, transportation, and much more. The team made arrival/visa/transportation arrangements, which made our arrival very smooth. The spa team was excellent. The food was delicious. We would definitely recommend this resort.

Staying at the Legian Seminyak in Bali was a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed with its beauty, ambiance, luxury appeal and welcoming staff. Every inch of the hotel was exceptionally clean and the service was outstanding. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious variety of food and drink that was available each morning for breakfast. Having breakfast overlooking the ocean was a magical experience. While every staff member I encountered was extremely courteous, helpful and efficient, I particularly would like to recognize Dewa who greeted me each morning with a broad and welcoming smile and was eager to help even when I was not in his designated area. While I personally appreciated his service, I noticed he greeted and attended to every guest the same. Dewa certainly is an asset to this hotel! I highly recommend The Legian Seminyak, Bali.

Great location right on the beach with beautiful pools overlooking the ocean. We recently stayed at The Legian in Seminyak, and it was truly a wonderful, unforgettable experience from start to finish. The property itself is beautiful, but it is the impeccable execution of the hospitality that sets this resort completely apart. The accommodations are amazing, and the architectural & interior design is brilliant - Our enormous studio room had a breathtaking sea-facing view. The 3-tier infinity pool was spectacular. And a special mention must go to the poolside bar and its staff: the drinks were fantastic, including absolutely the best Aperol Spritz I have tased since I was last in Italy. The breakfast was another major highlight, offering a fantastic balance of a premium a la carte menu alongside deliciously curated buffet. What truely makes The Legian world-class, however, is its team. Every single staff member we encountered was incredibly helpful, warm, and genuinely friendly. While the entire team was excellent, one individual stood out above all others for making our stay absolutely perfect: The Assistant Manager, Eka Rahayu. Eka's exceptional hospitality, attention to detail, and dedication to guest satisfaction ensured our stay was flawless. We can't wait to return.

Honestly nothing. The price was a bit high but that’s a personal decision and the amenities and facilities of the hotel are worth it.

Our room was large and very comfortable. The breakfasts were superb, the outdoor swimming pools were beautiful with stunning views over the ocean. We enjoyed the facilities at the very welled equipped gym every morning, which included a hot spa, cold plunge pool together with a steam room and sauna.

Beautiful location just in front of Seminyak beach. The hotel's main and only restaurant is great. I had breakfast, luch, and dinner there. Excellent taste and atmosphere. Strongly recomment to experience Legian Spa.

The location was perfect, the atmosphere was very relaxing, the rooms were exceptional, the value was fair for the service provided, the rooms were kept spotlessly clean at all times. It was extremely relaxing in the hotel and rooms. We would rate the service from the staff a 10/10, so happy with the attention they gave us - nothing was too much trouble. I use a walker, so the staff placed ramps everywhere so that I could get around, very impressed.

We stayed at the Club Villa's at this resort. They are across the street from the main hotel and they are exclusive, private and impeccable. The giant private club pool is only for a handful of guests. The club area features complimentary cocktails and snacks during the afternoons. You can dine at the club area or take a short walk across the street to the main resort on the ocean. The entire staff was professional and gracious, especially our AMAZING private butler, YONI !!! The villa itself was top shelf, with our private pool, outdoor tub and beautiful outdoor lounge areas in an enclosed setting that was 100% ours. The living area was spacious with a very large bathroom and dressing area, bedroom and living room. One evening, the night of my proposal, we had a private chef grilling at our Villa and Yoni served us dinner. The spa, resturant, beach and bar was all spectacular. We'd recommend this Resort for anyone looking for a true 5 star luxury experience. But make sure you request YONI!

This is our 10th visit to the Legian. Our first time was our honeymoon back in 1997. The Legian is the most tranquil, beautiful, and delightful hotels we've ever stayed at. The beautiful staff feel like family. They are so friendly, helpful and always smiling and laughing, which makes our stay even better. The best hotel, looked after by the best people. Can't wait to come back in September

Went here for the first leg of our honeymoon. This place is special. The most caring and kind staff. Insanely hospitable. Beautifully clean. Rooms are amazing. Cannot believe this place isn’t more popular… one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at and we have stayed at some fine places. Sad we had to leave but I will DEFINITELY be back. Our stay was amazing. The staff go above and beyond. They even knew who we were when our driver pulled up. Then when we went for a swim at sunset and forgot to get towels when we got out there were towels waiting for us on our day bed. We had a later flight and they let us have a later check out so we didn’t have to travel around with our bags. The resort and all the amenities are stunning. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location is perfect. The room, gardens, pools and beach (carefully watched over by lifeguard) were immaculate and quiet. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, complemented by a generous assortment of complementary offers. The balcony, just a few steps from the lovely garden and only 30 metres from the pools and beach, overlooked the ocean. It was well equipped, private, and an absolute delight. The atmosphere was wonderful. The hotel never felt too crowded; there was plenty of space for everyone, and the whole place felt safe and comfortable. You would never guess that you were only 200 metres from the buzz of Seminyak Square, which is easily within walking distance for a book, some shopping, or a change of scene. Breakfast was very good, and the food options throughout the day — in the restaurant, in-room dining, and the bars — were varied and of excellent quality. The gym was well equipped, with a good range of classes, and the spa was staffed by excellent professionals. The service was perfect at all times: highly professional, yet relaxed and easy-going, which contributed to an overall sense of lightness, calm, and good humour. A very nice jazz quartet on both Friday and Saturday evening created a special atmosphere around the beautiful sunset. Worth every penny.

The staff were very caring. I had broken my toe and nothing was too much trouble. If I was no longer in the shade they quickly moved the umbrella for me. Pool staff were wonderful. Spa was excellent and room service always delivered with a mile. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Staff at Legian was very helpful and made sure all my holiday stay went as smoothly as possible. They made sure meals, taxi and stay arrangements were to my exact requirements. The staff go beyond the ask to make a perfect stay. Definitely recommend to stay for a relaxing holiday if you want everything taken care of.

As always sensational in every way we have been staying at the Legian frequently for the past 15 years and it never disappoints. The hotel is in the best location- Ocean front with the most incredible views of the crashing surf. The 3 pools are divine and of varying depths. This hotel is 5 star - no brass and glass just class!! Staff are so well trained and treat each guest personally by name. Attentive and discreet. Location perfect for beach walks , restaurants and local exploring on foot without the need to take on the traffic! Congratulations the Legian Seminyak you never disappoint.

Expensive, but the facility and the people working there more than live up to the price tag. If we were to return to Bali, we would return to the Legian Seminyak.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Legian Club for a spring vacation recently and put frankly, we were blown away from arrival to departure. The staff was incredibly accommodating, anticipating our every need. Special shout out to Devi, the world’s greatest butler, and Lady for making our visit so special. The room was stunning, the food was wonderful, and the knowledge of the team helped make our first visit to Bali amazing. We will absolutely visit again.
