Location is good, walking distance to 2 malls and old town. However the driveway is cramped which does not befit the Westin brand. The furniture in the room is tired, with scuffed edges and decor from the 90s. Fortunately the bed was comfortable. Breakfast had a fair spread but was very busy. Spacious gym with a good number of machines. Heavy kettlebells available but dumbbells were messy and hard to find a matched pair.

It was terrible! Unbelievable There are no seats in the lobby! I sit in the lobby and waited my wife . The bar staff, Alice, said you can not sit here unless you order something! Unbelievable, the customer of the hotel can not site in the lobby! Also the baby said I offer you free water and then you can stay on the seats in the lobby. It is not acceptable! It made feel terrible! I report to the manger in the front desk. He did I not thing! Just said you can sit the seat. That is it! It is not Westin style!

Well it is in a very good location. Clean and nice hotel with facilities that are fair. Overall price and quality match.

There were a few things as a foreign visitor that I didn’t like. It is impossible in a Renaissance chain hotel not all personnel to speak English. It is not acceptable in 2024 to be with google translator. Also, the hotel does not have a western restaurant. When a European visits such type of hotel is expecting to have familiar food. Dinner buffet is not open all of the days thus you have to find a place to dinner.

Reasonably sized and comfortable room with several downsides. First was the smell of smoke whereby I requested a non-smoking room. The in room dining menu stated it was available up to 10pm but when I called at 9.45pm, I was told it was no longer available. Lastly, my colleague who book into the same room category received fruit basket and dumpling whereas I did not have any welcome items. Rather disappointed with a hotel branding that is under Westin.

We planned to stay for two nights for my partner's birthday weekend. We had to change rooms when we arrived as the room smelled like cigarette and the walls were damaged. The new room was a bit better but it wasn't very clean or well maintained (see pictures). The shower was dirty and everything looked worn out. After the first night the window began to leak from the ceiling and someone came to put a towel on the floor and didn't attempt to fix it or move us to a different room. At this moment we decided to move to a different hotel which was the best decision as the current hotel is so much cleaner and the staff are much more welcoming. Since it is The Westin thought the hotel would be clean, comfortable, and would have good service but we got the opposite experience. AVOID this hotel, the other hotels in town cost the same and are much better.

This hotel should not carry the name of a well known international hotel chain. It was one of the worst Westin hotel I ever been too. My first room were so bad ,smily and very poorly cleaned ( it was dirty ) and equipped and I asked for a change immediately and went to a suite which was not good. All towels were so old that you can’t use them. Location was good but hotel entrance was very bad. Will never stay there again.

Generally not up to expectations of a Westin hotel, the facilities are old and didn’t age well. But mostly service was quite sad, not only not enough staff esp. in F&B areas but inexperienced or even helpless. The additional money spent for Club Lounge wasn’t well spent, actually a waste, as Lounge was full, the food ‘not applealing’ and no changes for days. At the beginning of the Happy hour there were no glasses available, the fridges for drinks empty and other bottles also empty. We would not pay for this again and cannot recommend to do so

This hotel was located in the city center, next to Binjiang walking street and a lot of malls. Next to Metro station Yinkou road. Club lounge provided decent happy hour and afternoon tea. Free breakfast at the lobby restaurant was provided to Marriott elite members. Room was a little bit out of date but still comfortable. Room view was great to see Tianjin skyline.

We loved our stay and the location was great. The kids loved the pool. We upgraded to the Club Room and it was well worth it.

I CANNOT recommend this hotel AT ALL. I stayed here for 2 weeks in October 2019 for business travel. It's nice enough (looking) on the surface, but their service and upkeep are severely lacking. Firstly, things just don't work. In my first room, neither my safe nor my refrigerator worked. I complained about it on three consecutive days; finally someone fixed the fridge, but the safe never worked. On the third day, the air conditioner stopped working. I complained again for multiple days in a row (I believe it was also 3), each time being told by the phone assistant that the AC was broken and an engineer could not come to fix it yet. By the fourth day, I was pretty suspicious of this...a huge hotel should be able to afford a mechanic to fix their AC within an hour's notice, let alone 4 days. After complaining once again to the front desk, they told me that the AC was actually not broken, it was INTENTIONALLY turned off for the entire hotel, because it was "cold" outside. To be clear, it was in the upper 60's each day I was in Tianjin, and the sunny side of the building got HOT during the day. My thermostat in my room usually read somewhere between 32 and 34 degrees C, which is 89-93 degrees F. I was sweltering at night; could barely sleep with just boxers on and no covers at all. They refused to turn on the AC, told me they could "open a window". If you've never been to Tianjin, I should clarify for you that it is one of the most polluted cities in the world. There is no way I wanted a window open all night, every night, so that I could be sucking in pollution for 8 hours while I slept. They eventually offered me a room change, which sort of worked for half a day, but it was still incredibly hot. Then they brought me a fan, which did nothing but push the hot air around the room. AC is described on their site as being a standard commodity in every room...so why on earth would they shut it off for the entire hotel, especially when guests are complaining it is hot? After some time I told them I wanted to check out early, due to their inability to resolve the heat problem. They told me that my company had already paid the 2 weeks in advance, so they had my money....essentially that I could check out if I wanted, but they weren't going to refund me any of it. Wow. To clarify again, I work for a MAJOR international company, one who spends a lot of money at hotels for our many employees each year. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I called my company and asked them to try to rebook - they called the hotel and the hotel manager literally screamed at our agent for trying to rebook. This is the kind of service you're getting at the Westin Tianjin - once they have your money, they don't care about you at all. You're just a number to them. Even if they are destroying their future prospects with a giant company's contracts. On top of all this, there were all sorts of little inconsistencies that you just don't see at well-run hotels. Some days my soaps/shampoos would not be replenished, even when completely gone. Some days I didn't receive a bath mat. Some days they put a top-sheet on my bed, other days they just put a comforter. In my first room, the wall HDMI port worked, in the second, it was half smashed into the wall and didn't function at all. Overall, this hotel added a LOT of discomfort and stress to a 2-week long international work trip. Precisely the opposite of what a hotel is supposed to do. Most of the employees here are quite nice, but watch out for anyone who might be in contact with the manager - essentially the front desk and people on the phone. You're better off just staying somewhere else altogether.

Hotel location was ok. The reception staff was very slow, but that happens very often in China. The restaurant's evening buffet and breakfast catered well for the Asian guests, but was really not for my Northern European taste. Also the ingredients didn't seem that fresh and there were not enough options for vegetarian diet. My room carpet got wet after taking a bath, and I don't even know how it is possible because there is a wall in between. The carpet looked damaged. The spa in the hotel was lovely, though expensive.

初めてこのホテルに泊まりました。遅着だったので、すぐ食事をしたかったのですが、どこにどんなレストランがあるのかわからず、ホテル前のコンビニで、カップラーメンとビールを買って、部屋で済ませました。部案内のおかげで、安上がりで済みました。

출장으로 2박을 묵었습니다. 전반적인 시설이 오래된 호텔이나, 관리상태가 썩 나쁘지 않고, 침구류등은 깨끗하고 편안합니다. 다만, 카페트냄새가 자꾸 올라와 거슬리는 점과, 에어컨디셔너의 온도조절기능이 안되는 부분이 아쉽습니다. 에어컨의 성능은 너무 좋아서, 추울 정도라 문제였습니다. 1층 라운지식당의 종업원들은 훈련이 아예 안되어 있는듯, 뭐라 말하면 대답도 없고, 잘 오지도 않습니다. 기본적인 영어는 아예 안되고, 중국어로 말해도 잘 이해하지 못하는 것을 보면, 업무에 대한 교육이 아예 안되어 있는 것 같아서, THE Westin의 서비스를 기대하기란 어렵습니다. 하지만, 영어가 되는 직원들은 아주 친절하고, 응대를 잘 하니, 영어할 수 있는 직원을 찾아서 필요한 것을 요구하는 것이 좋은 방법입니다. 5층 헬스클럽은 관리상태가 굿입니다. 호텔위치는 시내 아주 편리한 위치이며, 근처에 전철 1호선역 (잉코우다오)이 있어서 천진서부역으로 갈 시에 아주 편리한 위치 입니다.

Revisited after 2+ years and not even the same but really going backwards. Not a Smile at Check-in & telling you the Executive Floor Cub benefits - very unlike any other Bonvoy hotels. Had early breakfast at Ground floor restaurant as Club lounge opens at 6.30am... wow.. too early for staff (6.15am) all wearing a sour face & Chefs (at least 3) were ignoring what ever request you make and the "White" uniform almost Yellow with stain ...in acceptable at all . Mr GM please wake-up ..

Excellent location but the staffs attendance levels to be further improved, looks like insufficient staffs to attend guests' needs. My experience is call to from room to operator, there is even no one pick up. Concierge is always no staffs there at least when I was there 2 times. Besides this, generally I am quite happy with the service from staffs...

Had an extremely disappointing dinner, used to be Ok, but Caesar Salad was a disgrace, was supposed to have extra chicken, but no, the poached egg was overcooked and cold. The salad appeared to be days old The rack of lamb was two pieces of mutton chops very fatty and little meat considering the $80 price tag

Stayed on 25th May 2019 An average stay. The staffs were courteous and always greeting us. The lobby is not big like other Westin I’ve seen. The drop off area is quite a mess as the security there doesn’t both about cars parking there. The breakfast should be the worse among the Westin I’ve stayed in before. The soup is cold, the scrambled egg is a Chinese fried egg. The dimsum section has only pao. And yet the dimsum baskets are empty. It’s a joke. They won’t serve you coffee/tea until you asked for it. Should just place the pots somewhere and we can collect ourselves. Overall - it’s a Chinese restaurant. Another funny thing. The card reader in the lift (to allow access to the guests room floors) is installed at knee level. Suitable for kids. So each time I’m using the lift to go back to my room, I will have to bend down to insert the room card into the card reader. Knee level haha, but why.

As a Titanium Elite member of Marriott, I am extremely disappointed at the services provided by The Westin Tianjin during my 6 nights stay (Apr 13 to Apr 19). I arrived at the hotel almost mid-night for the check-in. There was no one at the front desk. Finally I was able to locate a staff member for check-in who was rude and unprofessional. She did not explain any details about the facilities nor the breakfast arrangement. The attitude was bad and seemed unwillingly to do her job. Pretty bad first impression for the hotel. The next morning, I went to the restaurant for breakfast. I was greeted by another bad attitude of the cook who did not want to do his job in making soup noodle for customers. I tried to complain to the restaurant manager (Cheryl Gao) who showed no enthusiasm in helping and resolving any issue. I was pretty upset and left the restaurant immediately. I took my alternatives and headed to the executive lounge instead. Despite the lounge might have less selection of food, the service was totally different. The lounge greeted me at the entrance and immediately brought me the brewage. They offered great assistance and good help during my stay. Special thanks to Jenny and Rachel at the lounge. I had to give good credit to the Housekeeping team as they did a good job in maintaining the room (room was #1801). The room was always in good condition every night we were back to the room. The supplies were also replenished well. Overall I am not too impressed about this hotel as the services did not met the Westin hotels' standard despite the rescue from their great executive lounge services and good housekeeping. The initial check-in and poor restaurant management did their damage to customer's first impression. Sincerely , Charles Law

Stayed at the Tianjin Westin for 2 nights. Room temp was set too high and we were unable to adjust. I found it rather unsightly that wirings in the ceiling of bathroom were exposed, floor molding was not finished and veneer to top of cupboard was damaged by moisture. Ceiling to the bathroom also appeared moldy. We never complained as we were only staying for two nights! Location was great though, a short walk to subway station and "Five Great Avenues".

Tianjin is a huge sprawling city, but this hotel is located in what I would call the heart of Tianjin. The reception staff were excellent and made myself and my wife feel very welcome. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped and had both a bath and a separate shower. We had access to the Executive Lounge where we could have breakfast and there was also a Happy Hour every evening where they served good food and drinks. The manager of the lounge deserves special mention as she was excellent. We were there for 6 nights and it was a really great stay.

I spent a good time in Westin Tianjin. Hotel is located very close to the shopping mall and a historical part of Tianjin. My room was located on the upper floor with a stunning views. Quite spacious and well equipped. With a grand bathroom, king size bed and with a place to work. Restaurant offered a wide range of food. Morning breakfast and evening buffet was worth it. The staff was kind and polite. I highly recommend.

Beds are very comfortable and for the price you pay the rooms show true value for money. Executive lounge is a little tired and feel as though the staff there could be more friendly. But front desk is friendly. Rooms are good enough though could do with a refresh. Overall it is good, and would not hesitate to return. Location is also convenient.

Almost nothing is working properly in the room. The food of breakfast is terrible. Air conditioner is noise all night and doesn’t work at all.

This hotel has soft beds but the rooms on the east and west side are BOILING HOT! Do not under any circumstances accept a east or west facing room. And it doesn't matter if the open the windows or bring you a fan .... the rooms are boiling hot. There is nothing they can do. March in China has been hot, hot, hot and the Westin room 1421 was miserable. On top of that the staff really can't speak English well and it can get frustrating. A few of the front desk clerks are awesome but for the most part forget this hotel. Stay somewhere else.

First I got a smoking room, I have in my preference non-smoking room. I ask the staff where the Italian Restaurant Prego is, they say 3. Floor. Went to my room, and the down for some food, but it’s closed on Mondays, they didn’t tell me. Next morning there was no running water, they didn’t inform me at check in, but yes there was a paper in the room on the desk where there normally is a welcome paper so I didn’t read it. So major problem should be informed at check in.

It has been 4 years since my last visit , unfortunately I have seen a major downhill turn in this hotel , from check in not able to find my reservation as a platinum member, to a very tired executive lounge , rooms condition was not good and even not cleaned right in the toilet area , room couch had stains on there in which I would not even sit on after not knowing what the stains were , breakfast on the 1st floor , this is my first time seeing instant noodles to choose . I kid u not , 康师傅 instant noodles sitting there , the food was set up honestly not very nicely and the only reason I went there because the lounge breakfast was even worse I was going to use the spa and a major smoke stench coming from the spa service rooms made me do 180 degree turn and leave Executive lounge service was friendly Good location in the city center

I live in Tianjin and a couple times throughout the year I like to spend a weekend at a hotel. The Westin was my choice this last November. Overall the hotel was fine. The location is great due to the proximity to some of my favorite restaurants. I did feel the customer service level wasn’t on par to some of the other Westin hotels I have stayed out. The check-in was abrupt and unfriendly. I was upgrade to a club room during my stay. With the upgrade I did not realize that I could not access the club, this was not mentioned at all during check-in. I found this out after visiting the club to be told I could not access the lounge.

Visited several times and willing to come again. Good and nice hotel with clean rooms and very good breakfast including western ans Chinese food. Good value for money with suotable location close to pedestrian areas and shops.

VERY DISAPPOINTING! We stayed at this hotel two separate times in a one-week period (different room each stay). The overall impression is the management doesn't have a clue how to maintain the cleanliness of the rooms - certainly not sufficient to be "entitled to" the "Property Class" appearing on expedia for this Hotel. There were numerous places on the ceiling that indicated water damage (paint was blistering up), and the Shower/bath area had a "mature growth" of mold - not what I would expect from the Westin chain....... I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Good Location. Very much appreciated service from the Front Clerk. Gym is superior. It would be better if I can have more Western Dishes in the breakfast

Visited Tianjin for our Grandsons wedding & thoroughly enjoyed the experience..... The Head Waiter Jason was amazing, he was helpful, pleasant & efficient.... all the staff followed his lead & made our stay so enjoyable.

Service was excellent but overall experience was not up to expectations. Room is a bit old and most importantly the room service is a mess. They don't even have one glass of white wine to serve. Steak was served without providing mustard and proper cutleries.

Wonderful service. Westin is a little outdated compared to the other hotels around the world. However, very comfortable and friendly staff.
