Swimming pool was excellent — clean, well-maintained, and perfect for our visit. Customer service was outstanding — friendly, helpful, and welcoming from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Rooms / facilities felt a little dated and could do with some refreshing

Great accommodatoin. We travelled for the Taupo Marathon so the pool and hot pool were just the best. Very friendly hosts, well equipped rooms. Had everything we needed.

We stayed at Anchorage Resort Taupō last March as part of our travels and had booked just one night. In hindsight, we really wish we had stayed for at least one more night. Before we even arrived, Peter was incredibly helpful and accommodating when our travel plans meant we were running later than expected. Despite our delayed arrival, we received a warm and friendly welcome, which set the tone for the rest of our stay. We had also booked the bubbles package, which was a lovely touch and made our stay feel extra special. The resort enjoys a fantastic location directly opposite Lake Taupō and just across the road from the Two Mile Bay Sailing Club. We would highly recommend heading there for drinks and pizza while enjoying the beautiful lake views. Although we arrived later than planned, we still managed to make use of the hot tub, which was a wonderful way to relax after a long day of travelling and sightseeing. It was a real highlight of our stay. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well furnished, with lovely views overlooking the pool and across to the lake. The large bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep, and the room was equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom featured a jacuzzi bath, which was a nice addition, although this was probably the only area that could benefit from a little updating. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return. Excellent hospitality, a beautiful lakeside location, and great facilities made for a memorable stay.

Location is Awesome, must book lake view apartment for better view

Great staff, was greeted on arrival and he was super helpful. The place has a pool and spa, both heated with geothermal water :). The place itself is fine, older but well maintained. Good heatpump, so it's nice and warm during the winter.

Parking around the back is very tight for bigger cars (I have an Everest work vehicle), especially if there are other vehicles parked. In my case some were not parked very well, making it even tighter. There is parking at the front though.

The hotel manager was great. Very kind and helpful with everything. Great recommendations for food cafes, and what’s in and around the resort. Also $10 for hired bikes, but our bike ride was a short ride (on the schedule I had running) and he gave it to us for free. People like him make the resort, stay, and also the city of Taupo a great experience.

I wished I stay longer.

This place is very well kept and managed, the owners are kind and helpful. We had a two bedroom lake view apartment which was very clean and comfortable, loved sitting on the balcony looking over the lake, it was beautiful. The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet throughout the night, beautiful bath tub for relaxing in and great water pressure. A few minutes drive to town and a supermarket not far to buy supplies for the self-catering kitchen, which has all you need to make meals. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great during our visit in early May, I imagine in summer this place would be awesome with plenty to do and see or just relax on balcony with a drink and watch the world go by. Loved the cat that follows it's owner everywhere, very homey. Would love to stay here again, thank you Anchorage Resort for your hospitality.

Perfect for our family. Rooms were clean, good size, comfy beds. Spa was a hit also.

Kleines Resort-Hotel direkt am Lake Taupo. Aus dem Apartment hatten wir einen schönen Blick auf den See. Pool und Whirlpool im Innenhof sehr angenehm. Gut ausgestattete Küche.

Die Lage direkt an der Straße. Man hört natürlich viel Verkehr.

Ich hatte einen fantastischen Aufenthalt im Anchorage Resort und bin absolut begeistert von der Herzlichkeit in dieser Unterkunft. Gastfreundschaft pur: Besitzer Peter ist unglaublich aufmerksam und ein wunderbarer Gastgeber. Vom super herzlichen Empfang bis zur Verabschiedung hat er mich fantastisch betreut und war bei Fragen immer erreichbar. Insider-Wissen: Peter hat mich mit den besten Tipps für die Umgebung versorgt, die meinen Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht haben. Perfekte Lage: Die Unterkunft liegt wunderschön direkt am Wasser und bietet eine traumhafte Kulisse. Makellose Zimmer: Die Zimmer sind blitzsauber, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und gemütlich. Absolutes Highlight: Die großartigen Pools sind ein Traum und perfekt zum Entspannen. Ein riesiges Dankeschön an Peter und sein Team für diesen tollen Aufenthalt – ich komme definitiv wieder!

La situation est parfaite face a un restaurant Cuisine bien équipée au cas où vous voulez rester profiter de l’appartement, de la terrasse Le jacuzzi est juste parfait. Great quiet location across from the lake with a very nice pizza restaurant over the water a short walk away. Fantastic heated jacuzzi & pool. Unit was quite roomy & had everything needed, it was as neat as a pin. Manager was very helpful too. We wished we were able to stay longer.

Nothing really although it did have a shower over a bath which was quite high to climb out of. Not an issue for us but may be for others.

Overall our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay, everything was catered for very well.

The shower door did not close well and the shower pressure was less than what I usually like.

Loved everything!

Pictures dont do justice to how well kept and modern this resort is. Owner managed so everything is on point. Kids loved the pools. Perfect location ..stone throw to the lake. Views unmatched.

Peter was amazing ! The venue was great, and as a bonus, our dishes were washed while we were out. The hot pool was wonderful, and the view of the Lake was perfect. We went to the Sailing Club across the road for dinner (as suggested by Peter), and the food and atmosphere was great !

Uitstekende service van de host. We hadden een perfect appartement met prachtig uitzicht op het meer. Een mooiere kamer kan bijna niet. Volledig uitgeruste keuken en heerlijke bedden. Het zwembad was heerlijk evenals de hotpool. Lang genoeg open ook in de avond.

Fabulous 1 night stay! Very clean and in great shape. Quiet despite close proximity to busy road. Thanks Peter for allowing me to check in a bit early, finding the feline residents, shuttling me to the bus station as it was further than I expected. Nice lake side restaurant across the street for breakfast.
