Great location, helpful staff and spotlessly clean.

Comfortable well appointed quiet room

Perfect location to visit Blenheim and The farmers Dog. Woodstock has a choice of places to eat so finding an evening meal was simple as the Marlborough Arms doesn't serve meals in the evening. The breakfast is superb with a good choice of hot and cold foods. The room was comfortable and a very good size with everything we needed for a very comfortable 2 night stay. Finally the staff are exceptional! We would definitely stay again.

The location is exceptional, very close to a grocery shop, cafés, and small local shops, and only a 10‑minute walk from Blenheim Palace. The staff are very polite, caring, and assisting. The room was clean, and overall it’s a clean, well‑kept place. There is good water pressure in the shower and a coffee and tea making station in the room, which is convenient.

The buildings are extremely old and not taken care of from inside , a complete disaster. Everything is very dated, and it’s clear the owners are not investing in maintenance. The furniture is awful and should not be used anymore, the walls are cracked, and the floors are so noisy you hear every step and every movement from neighbors and across the building. In the morning, the smell from the kitchen reaches the room, which is very unpleasant. The product care is poor, and the room price is pricy for this rate, quality is absolutely expected, but not delivered. Overall the condition is worse than anything I’ve seen — even compared to antique shops. As a hotelier with 15 years of experience, I experienced real shock seeing a property in this condition. The only positive point is the people working there , they are polite, caring, and assisting. I would never recommend this place. Just run.

Fabulous large room and bathroom. Really quiet, we slept really well. Staff were all extremely kind and attentive. Breakfast excellent.

Near to the location we were visiting and had parking. Was also very clean and comfortable, with good staff.

Unfortunately the main road ran past it so it was quite noisy if the windows were open.

Classy and well located

Wonderful welcome and lovely area inside and out for guests to use. Lovely large bedroom with a good sized appealing ensuite. Really delicious breakfast. Parking included and nice and handy.

We had a comfortable bedroom at the top of the 3 storey hotel (no 10). The parking is at the back of the hotel and is a good place to leave the car and walk to Woodstock and Blenheim. Breakfast was partly buffet with plenty of a la carte options too.

A very warm welcome from each member of staff and also owner, Alastair and not least as I made a meal of the parking, which was plentiful but getting busy. Alastair then very kindly recommended somewhere for dinner (The Woodstock arms), which office is it? 10% referral discount – always welcome – and more over Serve very tasty food including utterly delicious aged steak cooked to perfection. Breakfast was excellent, check-in and checkout was a doddle and nothing seemed too much trouble. The location is ideal for Woodstock, Blenheim and surrounding areas. I drove but there is also easy access to Hanborough station via bus.

Nothing to fault to be honest. Big cars need to navigate a little bit in the car park but all very manageable.

Beautiful building with a lot of character - it’s obviously still a work in progress but the bar/lounge areas and the bedrooms were very good. Great location in the centre of Woodstock with private parking - Anna went out of her way to find me a parking space which was appreciated. Very comfy beds and spacious bathrooms. Nice breakfast with lovely staff.

We are in the middle of a heatwave and although each room had been provided with a fan they were still extremely hot. Other than installing air conditioning I appreciate there’s not much else that can be done.

The staff during breakfast was very accommodating. My husband had fallen and hurt his knee and our lovely attendant made sure a breakfast sandwich was made even when it wasn't on the menu, since he wasn't feeling good enough to come to breakfast. They did not charge extra and we were so appreciative of their kindness. Their suggestions for dinner were excellent, and we even got a discount when we mentioned we were staying there. The rooms were clean and the perfect size. There was a room off to the side of the reception area where we could play cards and close the door if our group became overly excited about losing. :-) The staff was gracious and accommodating. The location is right in front of the bus stop where we could visit other charming villages in the Cotswolds. We would definitely return and recommend Marlborough Arms to our friends.

The only thing I might change is to have a coffee maker where you could serve yourself or provide a carafe of coffee for the table. When it was busy, it was difficult to get a refill. We do totally understand our attendants were very busy with serving customers and minding the kitchen. It may help the staff as well. With this said, I still give this wonderful place an A+.

Marlborough Arms in the village of Woodstock is one venue to stay for Blenheim Palace. Its a historic building right on the main high street. The original room booked was large, bright with a good bathroom but was at the front of the the hotel and the main road noise to us was an issue. There is also a bus stop also outside the hotel. We were offered and chose to downgrade our room to accept a smaller, but still comfortable room in the rear of the hotel. If you want a quiet night, stay at the back of the Marlborough Arms. The rooms were clean if a little tired looking, very 1980's

The rooms are tired and in need of a revamp. The rooms look like ex house clearance has been used to furnish the space.

Absolutely beautiful hotel/B&B. The room was stunning and the staff were so lovely and helpful. Not a big breakfast eater but indulged and very happy I did. Very good selection of serve yourself items, fruits, yogurt and pastries with various hot options. Will definitely be returning. Almost forgot, parking on site.

Freundliches Personal in der Rezeption wie im Frühstücksraum. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Shuttlebus nach/von Oxford hält direkt vor dem Hotel. Blenheim Palace-Park fussläufig erreichbar. Hotel-eigener Parkplatz. Einige Restaurants in der Nähe. Geräumiges Zimmer, etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Zimmer wie Bad sehr sauber.

Unser Zimmer im oberen Stock des historischen Altbaus war nicht klimatisiert und daher in der Hitze Ende Mai sehr warm und auch über Nacht über offene Fenster kaum abzukühlen. Der Weg vom Parkplatz zum Hotel-Eingang führte über Kieselstein-Schotter - nicht wirklich gut zu laufen mit einem Koffer!

Room (10) was spacious as was the bathroom with bath and separate shower - well equipped - heater in room available if central heating off

Breakfast choices a bit limited - our room was excellent but up 2 flights of stairs so not good if you are not fit!

Traffic at front could be an issue in summer when might not wish to shut double glazed units in order to keep cool.

The hotel is in a really convenient location with parking close by.

The hotel was nice and convenient for the high street and lots of places to eat. Large room with big bed. They have a car park at the back which was great. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

The gravel car park made it difficult to roll a heavy suitcase/bag across to the hotel. Our room had some difficult stairs at the top so if you have mobility problems it might be worth mentioning when booking.

The location was great. In the middle of Woodstock & close to Blenheim palace. Room was comfortable but quite basic . Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was average. Staff were very friendly and helpful

A lovely hotel close to Bleinham which was the reason for our stay.

Due to the age of the property and the fact our room was in the first floor (Room 2) the floorboards on room above squeaked every time someone moved. Could also hear their tv.

This 15th century Coach Inn is an aladins cave and steeped in history. The room was huge, warm, clean and beautifully furnished. Bed was so comfy bathroom was big with bath and double shower. We had a few evening drinks in the bar/cozy area which was great and the staff were extremeley helpful. Parking and perfectly cooked breakfast were excellent.

Great location in the heart of Woodstock and close to Blenheim Palace. Very comfortable and spacious room. Lovely decor throughout the property. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast in the morning.

One tiny fault, I couldn’t find a plug socket for hair dryer near to a mirror.

I love the Marlborough Arms. Having stayed a number of times I am never disappointed. I always have a fabulous stay. I particularly look forward to breakfast what a lovely healthy spread they always lay on. I especially love being looked after by all the lovely staff.

I love everything.

The room was beautiful, very modern and comfortable, with lovely comfy beds, duvet and linens. Large very well equipped bathroom. Good cooked breakfast and varied buffet selection

We didn't like that our room was housed in an annex away from the main building, that wasn't in our room description. We were kept awake by an intermittent fan going all through the night

Lovely historic hotel in centre of Woodstock. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was good. We reported our bathroom fan as not working & it was fixed the same day. 😀

Not the hotel’s fault but we couldn’t park in hotel car park on the first 2 nights due to poor parking by other residents. Perhaps some marking of parking bays could be considered?

Loved everything about this hotel. Beautiful central location, parking easy, close to great pubs and eateries. Great meal at the Punchbowl just up the road. Only a short walk to the Blenheim Palace gate. We got lucky and had a lovely sized room with a massive bathroom with a claw bath in. The bed was the nicest we’ve ever slept in. Beautiful breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble with the staff, in particular the lovely receptionists who were always smiling - Arian and Adriana - thank you. Downstairs, comfy armchairs around the fire.

Very nice room and a historical look, spacious with beautiful coffee and tea facilities as well as complimentary water. We enjoyed sitting at the fireplace downstairs at the reception. Staff was helpful and friendly. Great location directly in the centre of town and walking distance from the palace.

Fantastic location for Bleinham Palace. Free on site parking. Room very clean. Beds very comfortable. Staff polite and friendly. Breakfast absolutely delicious, pastries so fresh. Loved the welcoming fireplace. Would definitely stay again. If I had to find fault the only thing we all said was that the heat woke us in the night but I’m sure we could have opened a window or possibly turned radiator down.
