It was quiet peaceful -
Bathroom did not smell clean and fresh,, nor the room, the bathroom door handel only had a few screws in it and fell off so you could not close bathroom door otherwise handles fell off - parking was a nightmare - parking restrictions everywhere - had to keep moving car to escape parking ticket - Breakfast was very oily as if evrything had been cooked in the same oil in the frying pan - price was extortionate for what we got
Location, wifi.
Booked and paid for breakfast to be told "the chef has not turned up, there is no breakfast." Was promised a refund, no communication. Also, in the information it said the room would be serviced every day, I stayed 2 nights and it was not cleaned, when I returned from being out all day, the bed was unmade, no refresh of tea etc, and the bin was full.
In a very good position in the centre of Woodstock
Lack of information about parking the website mentions daily parking permits but the member of staff didn't appear to know about that
Great location.
No breakfast for the first two days
nice historic building in very picturesque historic town, plus proximity to Oxford and the Cotswolds. Very good place to start exploring.
size of bathroom, stench of cleaning products (probably slightly too concentrated in use), carpets - as an an allergic to dust I would prefer wooden floors. But then I could never come to England as it has carpets everywhere.
Great location. Easy to check in. Great value for money
Door handle on bathroom was hanging off so difficult to open. Could not close fully as fear of getting stuck in there.
Clean and traditional
Nothing
Location
Poor facilities, TV not working. No bathroom ventilation, bedside lamp, some power sockets ooo.
Good location near Blenheim palace and lovely, characterful old building. Good breakfast and coffee downstairs in the café (not part of the deal i our case). Several pubs, restaurants nearby for evening meal. Parking was easy enough, although it was very busy at times, and not too expensive.
It was in a great location. No free parking outside but a short walk to free 4 hour parking. We had 3 sisters in a room single beds ok but futon was extremely uncomfortable. The table with coffee and tea and tv was very low. Definitely needs something higher. We were in the attic!
Climing lots of stairs.
It was comfortable and a good location
Parking is very limited and is quite challenging to find spaces. Between 8am and 6pm you're limited to a 4 hour stay as well. The shower curtain was rank.
The location to Blenheim Palace and the surrounding town
Everything was perfect
Great location for Blenheim Palace and exploring Woodstock. Also only 30 mins on the bus to Oxford. Comfy beds.
The room was basic and might benefit from a refresh but the price reflects that - still good value for money.
Charming building in central Woodstock. Great value for money. Lovely breakfast.
Room 2 needs some tlc, bathroom door doesn’t shut. Room rather dusty. No shower gel in shower.
Great location, lovely rooms, courtyard below
Could have replenished tea & coffee etc more often
good location
facilities a bit tired
Excellent location. Close to Blenheim palace. Lovely on site cafe.
Nothing
We had an excellent one night stay at the Blenheim Buttery. It’s in an excellent location right in the middle of Woodstock and we found parking (paid) just outside. Breakfast was great.
All good.
Great location
The booking is slightly misleading in that it says that there is parking available, however this is just the general on street parking where there is a maximum stay for 1-4 hours. Union Street Car Park is free so best to park there.
Location was excellent. Comfort was v good
Insufficient plugs available for charging phones. No side lighting next to bed.
Loved the location and the courtyard
The beds were very soft . Very limited tea and coffee facilities . Very tiny Bathroom and awkward access to it
The historical building and cozyness
Comfortable bed Nice decor Nice room Goid central location
Mold in shower Room too hit and just a small cheap fan
Location. Clean bedding and towels. Price. Fan. Friendly staff
Room was tired. Toilet door doesn’t close. Room door handle held on with cable ties. Drawers old and difficult to open. Shower small with some mold. Cheap kettle that can’t be detached from lead, still had water from previous customer. Bed tatty. Duvet too thick for summer.
Nice bed, quiet at night and a strong shower.
Bath could use some TLC, Soap refills etc.
The property was convenient to walk into Blenheim Palace. There were lots of places to eat and drink nearby. The room we had was a good size and the bed was comfortable.
Cleanliness wasn’t to a good standard. Bathroom wasn’t clean, shelf was grubby and had black hair on it. Bathroom door needed oil and wouldn’t close properly and no way of locking. Noisy in the night. The bedroom had cobwebs and the carpet needed hoovering. Check in was awkward, had to wait around for the key to be found even though they knew when we were checking in. No help up the steep outside stairs with our bag. Car parking in the area does not allow for 24hrs, no help whatsoever from staff about any alternatives.
Fantastic location and lovely room (some attention needed to the shower cubicle) overall very nice room, comfy bed and quiet
It was excellent, but shower cubical needs replacing, not dirty just old
Great location.
Needs a bit of TLC.
We had a very nice room here on a cycle tour and, the accommodation is located in the heart of the village.
We had checked in advance about secure cycle storage overnight (essential stuff for us) and we were assured that there was a locked courtyard but, this wasn't the case (despite the info in the room stressing the need to lock the door to the street), there was no functioning lock on the door to the street. For a cycle tour, we would definitely avoid this place in the future.
Good central location, quiet room (room 6) Friendly staff at check-in
Rooms and bathrooms are a little tired and could do with some love Breakfast staff not particularly friendly or attentive
Extremely comfortable, High standard for what we experienced in this holiday
Silly stuff.. the Orange juice (paid separately) was not drinkable (maybe l damaged).. nice tò have It replaced but has not been
The central location in Woodstock, the walking distance gate to the Blenheim Estate
Lack of free parking
Nice location in Woodstock. I appreciate how nice the room was and having a fan inside especially on a hot summer day.
Our room was directly facing the street so we can’t draw the curtains. Plus it was a very hot summer day and the bed only has a thick duvet comforter without a sheet so it was so uncomfortably hot when sleeping.
Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Breakfast was nice
Nothing
I’ve stayed here many times as the location is perfect, the rooms comfortable and the staff friendly.
Could have done with a bedside light.
Liegt direkt in der Ortsmitte. Sehr schön hergerichtetes altes Fachwerkhaus. Fahrräder standen sicher im Innenhof. Leckeres Frühstück
everything went as we hoped
despite the kind provision of a fan it was too hot to get a good nights sleep
Was a lovely hotel in a great location.
The location.
Was okay, however I would not stay there again. I would pay more to stay somewhere else. We booked in late, I did email to warn them. Advice on where to park was poor.
It was clean, the staff were friendly .. amazing shower
Nothing
Spacious and clean room in excellent central location.
The room was only equipped with a small fan which didn't make much difference to the warm temperature of the room. While there were plentiful opening windows, these opened on to a communal courtyard which is used both by patrons of the cafe and others outside of the cafe hours, meaning the room was noisy at times. There didn't appear to be staff on site outside of the cafe opening hours (the cafe closes at 5pm), giving the accommodation more of a feel of an airbnb than a hotel/guest house and limiting check in hours. This also left me feeling vulnerable when another patron tried to open my door during the evening and there was no one to report this to or seek assistance from.
It was very central for our needs
Our room was dirty. No toiletries in bathroom even though it is advertised as having them. Refreshments not replenished in the room after use and our room was cleaned only once in 5 days.
The location is special. The area is just stunning.
Breakfast isn't available until after 8am.
A good central place to stay, clean and tidy, excellent breakfast
Check in was poor, we were not met on arrival but after a couple of phone calls we were eventually shown our room which was secure and good.
Fab location. Beautiful spacious room. Great food and service.
Perfect location for us to see a few local events on the weekend room was very clean and spacious.
nothing everything was fine ! thank you
Central location but very quiet
Nothing to dislike
Beautiful room, comfy bed, very clean, plenty of tea and coffee in room
Great location in the centre of Woodstock. Lovely courtyard at the back which can be a real sun trap. Excellent breakfast.
Unfortunately the sash window didn’t open very far so on a hot night this was not ideal although there was an excellent fan in the room.
Great location and very quaint
Just needs a good scrub especially in the bathroom
Perfect location and ideal for visiting Blenheim Palace and the local area. The breakfast was delicious.
Would have liked an option for breakfast up front, rather than buying separately.
Location
The window did not open. It was hot! We complained. The night porter said there was nothing she could do as the manager knew the window was stuck. We insisted. Eventually got the manager. She said there was nothing window had opened before. (Looked like it was painted shut). Got a small refund. Extractor fan ran all night. Shower was mouldy.
Lovely quaint building from the exterior and great location.
Internal landing carpet dirty .bathroom very worn with moldy floors tiles .stayed during heatwave..room too.hot.
Great location Comfortable room Good value for money Fabulous breakfast
Bathroom needs attention but perfectly usable.
The town was beautiful and the building itself was charming.
It had a smell of damp as soon as you walked in. It looked like it was in need of refurbishment as it looked tired.
Sentralt
Litt vanskelig med parkering
Charming place in the perfect location for access to Blenheim Palace. Nice breakfast.
It was very hot and the windows were sealed shut so unbearable at night. There was a fan but that was too noisy.
Excellent location and brilliant staff breakfast was beautiful
Stunning 1827 built converted cottage house located in the town centre 5 mins walk of the entrance to Blenheim Park. It has restaurant with rear patio. Separate entrance from the street to 6 rooms located to the upper floors. We checked in to the top floor room, which is probably the biggest of all and has dual aspect views. Original roof structure members proud inside the room and wonky floor level was an added value to our stay. Great experience. You have everything on your doorsteps. We had a quick lunch, which was ok, and decided to have breakfast elsewhere. Off street public parking paid for up to 4h. Free from 6pm to 8am. There is free public parking behind fire Station for up to 4h and few places up to 10h. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyable stay.

Great location for Blenheim Palace and surrounding area. Cafe downstairs friendly and helpful staff. Good opening time for breakfast so you can set off early.
Minor for me but I found it a little noisy early in the morning by what I think were delivery vans and what sounded like refuse collection.
Lovely b&b. Very convenient. Reasonably priced and a lovely breakfast.
Location
Buttery was closed when we arrived at 4pm. I had to make 3 phone calls to different people to be let in. As the Buttery was closed we couldn’t buy a parking permit as advertised with the booking so had to pay and get up early to buy a new ticket for the next day. There wasn’t anyone on site so we made 11 calls over the evening for help with our room which wasn’t ideal.
Tired.
Excellent location
Bathroom hadn't been cleaned, used cotton buds left on the bath, empty bottles of hair conditioner. Previous guests clothes left on top of the wardrobe. Breakfast was good value on the first day, the second day we sat in the restaurant, waited for 15minutes before having to ask for a menu ( only 3 other tables so not as if it was exceptionally busy) then waited a further 10 and still not had our order taken so decided to leave.
Stayed many times over the years Excellent location in Woodstock to access Blenheim Palace and Oxford Fantastic selection of restaurants and bars a short walk away Parking is available on meter
Staff on the whole were friendly and accommodating but unfortunately not all of them! Room 6 was acceptable but think a regular deep clean could be planned as we found a shoe next to the bed so it obviously hadn’t been vacuumed beforehand Curtains and nets needed replacing or at least rehanging The fan in the bathroom wasn’t working correctly and needed a clean but made an awful noise !
Location was excellent for Blenheim Palace.
Parking was a bit of a faff, as had to monitoring when to top up.
Breakfast
The room looked liked it needed decorating cleaning and good renovation. Furniture dated bathroom in poor condition. Generally need a lot of work doing ?
Breakfast was excellent. Good choice (and they offered gluten free without any questio ). Reasonable price too.
Our rooms were very hot and in fact the sash window in our friends room didn't open at all. We all like to sleep with fresh air in.the room.
The location was perfect and a quaint building
Tv not working properly, bathroom door catch broken, window unable to close or open any wider without wedging it. Housekeeping not consistent, 1st morning towels rolled and put on unmade bed and bathroom not cleaned.
We were away for a mother and daughter weekend visiting Blenheim Palace. The Blenheim Buttery is gorgeous and has a true Cotswolds period property look, with lots of charm and character. We were met in the Eatery by a lovely welcoming lady. She explained all about the room and how to access the room. The room was lovely (twin room) looked recently decorated and presented well. Access was easy and simple, with a door fob to the front access so we could come and go as we please. We parked outside and paid for parking for what we needed. Parking outside is free 6pm-8am. Just at the end of road you could access Blenheim Palaces grounds which was gorgeous and a real treat. We sat and enjoyed the views of the palace and the lake. There was a Coop just down the other end of the road which was handy for some evening nibbles. There was plenty of places to eat and drink in the evening. We would highly recommend the authentic Italian on the other side of the road. We had breakfast in the eatery, which was delicious and the coffee was delicious too. Service was quick and staff lovely. We would highly recommend staying here and the location was beyond perfect.
I’m a professional domestic cleaner and my standards are very very high. As a tiny negative I would suggest the room and bathroom needed some attention to detail. But I would still consider it to be clean. The bedding and towels were very clean. I would definitely still recommend and love to stay again.
A building with lots of character and cosy charm in a great location for Blenheim Palace. Comfortable beds.
Value for money. When booking via booking.com breakfast is not included but u can get 10% discount
All ok.

Quaint, my top level room had oak beams and plenty of space.
Minor, toilet fan noisy.
Breakfast was tasty. Room was clean but looking a bit faded around the edges. Beds were very comfortable and the staff friendly.
Location was excellent and room was very comfortable with everything needed. Bathroom very small but was fine for one night. Breakfast in the cafe was excellent.
Excellent location for BLENHEIM Palace, we just walked down the road for entry through the gate, plus central to pretty little Woodstock and their local restaurants and public houses. It was sooooo quiet too! Super friendly staff which is always welcomed, so THANKING YOU all once again!
Parking can often be an issue, but we were kindly informed of free parking for 10 hours a few streets away. We then had to move our car to benefit by free parking outside The Buttery from 6pm until 8am outside in the street … what I didn’t like was to have to get out of bed at 7.50am to pay £1.40 for a further two hour stay! My husband however, made the coffee! PS Your swinging sign above the front door is no longer there … you were initially tricky to locate.
We had a spacious room, bathroom small but good. Nice to have tea/coffee in room. Comfy bed.
Nothing. Do note there are stairs.
Great location! Right in the heart of the village! Walking distance to Blenheim Palace , so you can walk the grounds pre opening and post closing. Eateries all within a 2 mins walking distance eg. Italian and Pub opposite, both reasonably priced and food was great! Parking is easy, after 6pm can park right outside, otherwise car park nearby with free arking in certain zones otherwise its very cheap on a meter
Decor & bathroom abit dated but clean and comfortable
Excellent location.
Uncomfortable bed. Bathroom extractor fan didn’t work as did the main light in the bathroom. Breakfast was reasonable but not great. My sausage was cold on first day.
Well located in the centre of Woodstock
Bathroom was very small
Location
Light flickered in room
The room was really fine apart from - see below
The door into the bathroom jammed close. We could not open it. At 11.00pm I tried to find a member of staff. None was available. I called the number on the door at the front of the property and was told that a member of staff would meet us in our room. Someone in a dressing gown turned up, yawning and uncommunicative. She ‘phoned someone who advised her on how to release the door. This worked. It was an unfortunate aspect to an otherwise enjoyable stay.
My room was comfy and I enjoyed reading in the courtyard in the evening and breakfast there in the morning! Great location
Nothing
Lovely location, comfy bed and cozy room. Was quaint and quirkey.
On arrival the hotel sign is missing from the front of the building so made it a little difficult to locate. Weather was extremely hot at around 30c. There was no blind on window so had to keep curtains drawn, making room dark. The lead/plug on the kettle was fixed so made pouring difficult. As there was no air conditioning a fan was provided but lead was very short meaning had to be on floor and not were you needed it.
Good size room and a great location.
The welcome left a lot to be desired. Handed our keys and told it was upstairs (a smile can go a long way). The room was extremely hot and as we were staying in the front of the property we were unable to open the window. There was a fan but it just moved the hot air about. The rooms where you are unable to open windows desperately need air conditioning.
Great location for a stop over. Rooms were cosy and had everything needed. Area felt safe and secure. Although we didn't dine at the restaurant, it felt nice and the food looked great.
Parking can be a bit tricky. There is a free car park closeby where you can stay for 4 hours but then you have to move it so it became a bit of a faff but wasn't the worst thing ever. Parking was about £7 for 4 hours.
