Love staying here. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Very helpful. Beds super comfy. Great value food and drinks. My Mum also loves it here.
Good location
Very run down hotel! Dirty carpets, full of holes!! I didn't even want to walk barefoot on these carpets. Both bedside lamps not working. It is a total dump! I very nearly left to book in somewhere else! Avoid at all cost!!!
Bedroom was clean and tidy. Good position in centre of Westerham with parking.
It was impossible to open the windows to get fresh air. Uncomfortable pillows. The decor is not in a good state. Tiny sink in the bathroom.
Location was ideal, breakfast was fairly good, overall with the upcoming refurbished all OK.
The location was great and the staff were friendly.
There were some holes in the carpet and the decor was outdated.
The overall experience was very good . Easy parking. Friendly Staff
Room Needs some painting in places.
Very central to the town
It needs a lot of cosmetic work the rooms are very very tired.
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, great bar and atmosphere. Need to stock up on some more alcohol free beers though
Nothing
Fabulous location in Westerham. Really loved the Hotel. Fab garden out the back. Free parking. Hotel staff were all friendly and gave us first class service. We ate in the restaurant. Food was delicious and the cheesy garlic bread was so good. Had deal on 2 meals and 2 drinks which was great value for money. We stayed in Anne Boleyn room. Had sleigh bed which was super comfy. Bathroom was down a small flight of stairs and was really big. Building is old and had character. Highly recommended.
We thought we were in a room over looking garden. Ours over looked high street. But room was quiet. Would have loved room with four poster or Victorian bath tub but luck of the drawer.
Well centred to do what I needed in the area with facilities and shops nearby
Generally hotel was a bit tired, shower head in bathroom not fixed due to broken attachment, paint on bath panel side flaking ,paintwork everywhere looking shabby.curtains couldn’t be closed properly as broken rail fixtures.exposed wires below tv ,carpets rough Needs a total shake up (I gather it is soon to close for major refurbishment)still cost is as though pristine!
Beds were comfy. Staff were friendly and attentive Location was great
Staff were lovely, polite, friendly and helpful. Room, Bathroom, Bar Area and Breakfast room all very clean. Bed very comfortable. Large Bathroom, with a lovely hot powerful shower. Great base for exploring the area and visiting local attractions. Westerham is a lovely little village. Really tasty breakfast, with good continental selection and great choice of freshly cooked hot breakfast, Full English (except overcooked fried egg) and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs were lovely, with really good portion sizes. Reasonable food and drink prices. Food was tasty, with a few exceptions. (pigs in blankets were very overcooked and rubbery, couldn't even see the bacon, really don't think they should have been served. Poached and fried eggs were also both overcooked and hard)
Room overlooked a brick wall, thus making it very dark. No ceiling light, just bedside lamps and a lamp that desperately needs a new shade. Bathroom light switch was by the bedroom door as you came into the room!!! (very odd) Window was wedged open with a plank of wood!!!! Hole and crack on the pedestal of the bathroom basin. TV needs to be on the wall (and slightly bigger) Breakfast waitress got a chair for another guests dog so it could sit at the table!!! She was making a fuss and stroking the dog at the table, even took a photo of him sitting at the table. Just not 100% sure she washed her hands before serving our breakfast.
Location on high street of Westerham. Large parking area. Room was spacious.
Noise, people vacuuming at 1:30 am, single glazed windows on room let a lot of noise in from outside.
The outside areas are lovely, especially in a warm summer evening. Staff were lovely & helpful. Huge surprise that we were in the Henry V111 bedroom.. the one with the 4 poster bed! Very big room looking out on the main street in Westerham. Bed was comfortable. Wardrobe & chest of drawers for clothes. Big bathroom with a shower & a freestanding roll top bath!
Following on from what other guests have said… decor is a bit tired but has huge potential. I’d love to get my designer hands on it! It was clean & comfortable enough. The complimentary tea & coffee needed replenishing… we had no milk or sugar! Finally , the water in the shower was tepid at best . Didn’t bothered us as it was a hot weekend when we stayed … wouldn’t be so good in the cooler months though. A few tweaks here & there & this hotel could be fabulous! Compared to the hotel directly opposite cost wise, the Kings arms is almost half the price per night. We would stay there again as the location was perfect for us !
Location and size of room. The staff were great.
Hotel is going to be completely refurbished in starting September which is needed. The road noise with windows open on warmer evenings is not ideal
Pleasant old coaching inn.
Light bulb missing from room lamp.
Breakfast was excellent including wide range of options Inn was in very good location, town centre close to M25
Bathroom and shower could have been better. No towel rail or anti-slip mat in bath. Fiddly shower controls
Very nice hotel in a good position in Westerham. Parking is easy and free for guests. I stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed my stay. A friendly welcome on arrival. All the staff were welcoming and kind. Great breakfast each day. An old hotel with a nice feel. My room was large and very clean. It was very hot weather when I stayed but there was a fan in the room which was useful and it was easy to open the windows. Would stay again if in the area.
The room was a bit dark as there was no ceiling light.
Location was good, staff were great
Room 7 was very tired and dark. Windows old sash held up by a block of wood, no view the smell of the kitchen coming in
Good location and friendly and helpful staff
Very hot room and unable to open the window
Staff exceptional. Good location Food good
Room 1 .. Like being in an oven .. 85 degrees in room , no air con , window only opened about 30cm had to wedge it open small fan that didn’t make a difference tbh No sleep , felt nauseous .. Threadbare carpets , very run down room
Cleanliness
Room on upper level rather tatty torn wallpaper in bedroom and bathroom.Had to prop sash window up with spoon.
No air con and dated
Lovely clean quaint hotel Dated rooms but clean and comfortable Great breakfast choice
Rooms are quite dated Floorboards need repairs and very noisy outside and inside bedrooms
Green King could spend some capital on maintenance. Did not affect our stay but a lovely building looks sad inside.
Very convenient position in lovely village. Near to lots of National Trust properties.
The property was very, very tired and in need of a refurbishment. The staff said they were closing in a month for 3 months while the property was refurbished.
The staff made the stay. The greeting and information provided by reception on arrival was the best ever at any level of hotel. Everybody had a smile and said hello. breakfast was good apart from chargrilled bacon but that is just my taste.
In all fairness they make no secret of the fact it's closing next month for a well needed refurbishment and this is reflected in the price. Downstairs is really okay and a shame they have to shut that part as well. No plug in the bathroom sink (I have a small denture). The bathroom tiles were not clean. Despite all efforts the shower soaked the floor. No non slip surface in the bath and no non slip mat provided. Low energy bulbs which did not provide sufficient light.
Good pub, bar, pub food and breakfast. Room was large.
A bit jaded.
Staff informative , helpful, positive Good parking space and garden at the back
The price went up a day after id seen and expressed interest. so cost more than expected The heat , but fan in room and that was quiet Nt easy to sleep because of heat - but not much you could do with that
The hotel is quirky and about to undergo refurbishment. The windows have difficulty opening safely, but this will change when the restoration takes place in sept . Staff are lovely and very helpful. This is an ancient Coaching Inn with an interesting history.
A bit tricky propping the heavy window open in 30centigrade … with only a toilet roll to prop it open…. I don’t think all windows are like that… as i saw some open without any props. The price reflects the current condition of building and i was willing to go with the flow in a historic building with lovely staff.
Pyszne śniadanie.
Gorąco w pokoju. Słabe oświetlenie.
Spacious room, nice greeting from Staff, was able to leave my bike in their library, Nice Continental breakfast and great value for money
Little minor thing few people shouting about drinkers outside after hours,in summer you may get this Definitely stay again ,nice rooms
Central location, friendly staff
All good
Spot on in the middle of a grwat town
Great breakfast
Reasonable base for 2 day area visit, Good Breakfast , Shower, towels, wifi, Portable fan. Small room, lots of stairs, difficult locks, adequate other facilities. Great central location Parking included (registration needed) Did not try bar or restaurant. Recommend Grasshopper pub
No main room light (bulb missing) not replaced after reporting it. Non standard TV channels. I'd probably say a bit over priced for what it was.
Good location free safe parking huge room and bathroom
Tired rooms peeling paint on ceilings
Decent sized bedroom and bathroom Good value for money
We paid £5 for parking as directed in the the hotel car park, but we were then told it was included in the room rate when we got to check in, which was annoying.
Central and local
Badly needs renovation
The place was in needed of a refit which is going to happen soon. The real ale was good , breakfast was very good so was Sunday roast beef and th staff where very helpfull and nice.
Staff were very helpful. Hotel was in walking distance of the town. It was good to see it was a dog friendly hotel. This hotel was very old and quirky. Our room had double aspect windows.
Room needs updating and repairs completed.
Excellent friendly staff. Dinner and breakfast both very good and great value for money.
Hotel looked a bit 'tired' but I understand it is about to have a major refurbishment.
I loved the place so much that I stayed there three nights.
The staff were wonderful, friendly welcoming and informative. The room was big with lots of windows. Central location and parking which is great as there is nowhere to park in town. The breakfast was delicious! There were really nice outdoor areas too. Great place to stay.
Air conditioning lacking, and we didn't realise until the morning there was a fan in the wardrobe, I suggest having it out in this heat for clients. It is a little dated, but charming and perfe ctly comfortable.
Nice staff in the bar/hotel. Easy parking. Nice garden.
Room SO hot in the summer. No fan or air con. You're on a busy main road, so I had to open the window and listen to noisy traffic Shower unit was so difficult to turn off I almost flooded the bathroom
No breakfast
The hotel is a bit tired but this reflects on the price, so all good.
The Kings Arms is in a fantastic location with a great bar and pub garden. The staff were both amazing on our arrival and at breakfast. Our room was huge with with original period cornices and skirting and a very comfortable four poster bed. Loved the roll top bath and beautiful sink in the bathroom. The room and bathroom were very clean. We didn’t use the restaurant for dinner but our stay included breakfast which is taken in their conservatory with a wide choice menu and buffet and was very good.
The Hotel is overdue decorating! Our bathroom ceiling was peeling and the room decor looked tired. Silly things that are easily fixed really like looking at a cage of boxes and a disgarded box from a provisions delivery from the conservatory while having breakfast! These things can be easily masked by trellis and planting or hedging but shouldn’t be seen by the guests.
Central to town and Biggin Hill where I was visiting
Breakfast was 22.50 and bacon and sausages not that good
Location
Nothing to dislike
Location, ambiance and parking.
Breakfast was great, rooms clean and comfortable, the only let down was the old sash window wouldn't stay open so had to prop it open as best as i could
Booking in was seamless and quick. Breakfast was large and lovely.
Minor detail, bedrooms could do with refurb. We stayed in Anne Boleyn, and there were areas with wall paper missing or peeling.
Very central to the village and good garden.
Car park was not exclusive to property and was very full when I got there and only just found space to park my motorbike.
The hotel was well located for our needs. Parking was easy and the staff very friendly. The cooked breakfast was nice and the wifi worked well.
No complaints. The building is old and the room a little tired but everything worked and no issues with what we had.
Set in the picturesque village of Westerham, the King's Arms is a very agreeable pub and a very comfortable overnight stay. All the staff were very approachable and helpful. Good parking.
Nothing.
Friendly, helpful staff with a nice garden and selection of drinks
Decor was a little bit tired and when ordering food,we were told there was no steak or gammon as it had been stolen.
Clean and comfortable, powerful shower, towels supplied, plus iron, ironing table and fan, tea and coffee. Good value for money.
Room was near the fire doors, quite a lot of activity, banging of doors until approx 4am, although probably because World Cup is on. Old building, windows quite heavy/awkward to open with secondary glazing.
Nice people running the hotel
Bedroom was so hot but hey they can’t control the weather, although the windows were difficult to open with security locks and the air con was crap
It was conviently located, host was very welcoming and friendly.
Room was located on second floor, not very accessible! The whole building especially the room and bathroom were in URGENT need of refurbishment and redecoration. No toiletries provided except a handwash and shower gel attached to the wall. Hospitality tray very poor, would have expected at least a biscuit. Television was mounted on the wall so it couldn't be viewed from the sofa.
Good value for money and excellent staff service
Lovely meals . Beds very comfortable in a big room.
We had difficulty turning taps on and off which we mentioned on leaving. The hotel is dated but staff said the hotel is going to be refurbished soon
The bed was comfortable
Room was at best shabby and at worst dilapidated. Water stains and plaster coming away from walls and ceiling. Bathroom was no better. Missing tops to taps, mold around the window.
Very pleased with my stay here. A last minute booking as I only decided to drive to Kent late in the afternoon. Later arrival wasn't a problem. Good choice of drinks in the bar to relax after long drive. Good choice for items for breakfast. The Hotel was only a couple of miles form where I wanted to be that morning, meaning I had a relaxed start to the day.
Nothing.
The staff were very friendly and helpful - a pleasure to deal with. I gather the building is to be renovated next month, which is needed, and is worth the trouble
Shame that there was no IPA when we were there. IPA was one reason for looking no further when booking. Lighting in the room was DIRE
Very clean and a comfortable bed
As other reviews have noted the decor is a little tired but I believe a refurbish is planned.
Breakfast room was lovely and had all the things we needed. the bathroom had a good shower and the room was clean. Parking was good just sign in at reception. the bedroom was very large.
Small Tv, and the room was a little tired.
perfect location, loads of parking and very friendly staff.
The rooms were very hot and no fan was provided this was needed during my recent stay.
The staff was frantically, a little shabby but there having a refurbishment. Will go back to see it. Lovely food we had our main meal in the library just the four of us. So comfortable and relaxing.
Everything
We travelled with a large group for a wedding using many different rooms. Some people were happier than others with their rooms.
Staff were extremely kind to me during a recent stay. They went above and beyond to make me comfortable when I was distressed, and were exceptional. Thank you so much!
The staff were friendly, helpful, and clearly work very hard to make guests feel welcome. Their excellent service really made the stay enjoyable. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The location was perfect for us.
The rooms are tired and in need of redecoration. Our bedroom was quite dark as there was no central light, the bathroom sink was blocked, and the TV was very small. There was also a quiz night during our stay, and the noise was extremely loud from the bedroom, which made it difficult to relax. With some refurbishment and attention to maintenance, this could be a much better experience.
The breakfast was fairly good.
The whole hotel definitely needs some renovations carried out on it . Painting and decorating a must !!!
Very nice, typical pub type hotel. Creaky stairs and cute niches. The bar has a good restaurant (although there is no shortage of eateries in Westerham). The village is one of those typical English country locations, but you are, in fact, only minutes to major motorway communication. Very handy. Breakfast was good with options to have English breakfast etc. Parking is in the car park to the rear. Park and then register at reception. Very easy and handy.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was huge with a 4 poster bed.
Shower only a trickle so we couldn't use it. I understand a refurb is due to start shortly.
Exceptional staff - off duty receptionist went out of her way to help when I was late for my check in and a bit lost. Thank you also to the receptionist whose evening I interrupted when she let me in. Had a great night's sleep, really spacious room and ensuite. Only downside is that due to being right on the main street there are inevitable car noises. It is an old building so the floors are creaky, too.
Central location. Great staff. Bar, restaurant and beer garden spot on. Free parking.
We knew before we booked that it was to close this summer for refurbishment, so expectations about the room were not high, so we weren't too disappointed to find the rooms were indeed very tired and in need of serious upgrading. To it's credit the room was very clean and warm. We will look to book again next year after refurbishment.
Comfortable, quiet.
Restaurant on site with good menu
Ideal location for the reason of my visit.....Staff were very kind & helpful - thank you.
The property does need some TLC.....I know a refurbishment is due to happen very soon. I will look forward to visiting again when it has been completed.
Its proximity to the wedding venue we attended.
It’s in need of some modernisation.
Great staff - really helpful. It will be a really good stay after the planned refurbishment.
Rooms quite tired. Ready for a refurb.
The hotel was exceptionally clean and tidy. The food was excellent. The room was very spacious and bright. The hotel setting is on the main street with shops and eateries close by. Parking was very convenient at the rear of the hotel. The views at the rear look over the beautiful countryside. Our room was on the top floor and had dual aspects. The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. They were very friendly and helpful during our stay when attending a family wedding at the village golf club. Absolutely fabulous to be greeted by such pleasant people after a long journey. We would definitely return to this hotel again.
There was nothing at all about the hotel that we didn't like
Nice food
Nothing
Good
Getting into car park such a narrow entrance
Location.

great location and friendly staff
room was very warm and unable to open window
Good location. Friendly staff. Breakfasts good.
The pillows! Very hard. I’d recommend putting a soft one on each bed so there’s a choice.
Friendly staff, clean rooms.
Very dated and in need of refurbishment. A little annoyed that we could not get dinner as the chef left early as he was unwell. We were offered a complimentary drink, not very helpful as we were hungry! Fortunately the nearby 'chippy' was open and we enjoyed an excellent take away.
Victoria was delightful and gave a us a lovely welcome on arrival. She also ordered our taxi to and from the venue where the party took place . Rebecca was a ray of sunshine at breakfast.
The hotel requires a complete refurbishment. I understand that’s taken place in the next few months.
Manager was lovely pleasant staff.
I felt very safe as a solo traveler
Radiator stuck on hot
Radiator stuck on hot
Lovely breakfast. Well organised. Pretty diningbroom.
N/a
The staff were lovely and the bed very comfy.
The room was in a poor state of repair . Peeling paint , damp patches , the bathroom was horrible - in serious need of modernising.
Convenient
Lighting was bad needed a bit of an uplift
Table we were shown to for dinner moved, not just side to side but all the way round. You couldn’t lean on the table for fear of spilling your drinks. We asked to move table and we were accommodated. The bedside lamps were too dim for reading. I spoke to a member of staff who was going to pass it on to her manager and see about getting them changed. We waited for 25 mins and I went and asked again, this time it was a different girl and I was told there was nothing they could do about it. I did ask why nobody had had the courtesy to come and tell me but just got sorry. Leaning the next day, my husbands wheelchair was behind the reception, two members of staff were there and made no acknowledgement to him at all. I believe one of them was the owner/manager who had booked us in the previous evening.
Great location and staff Really good breakfast
Floor is creaky and tired
Great food at reasonable prices - couldn't eat it all!
Bedroom too hot.
The staff were very welcoming.
The room was too hot and I was unable to turn the radiator off. The room and bathroom were a little shabby but quite adequate.
