Nice building, well maintained, quality accommodation
Very noisy room facing road. No sleep. Food quality poor
It was nicely decorated and furnished
It want very personal. Check in/out was all online so no human interaction. The staff member who showed me to my room didn’t offer to carry my bag. Pastries ran out on the first breakfast and on the second breakfast there were no plates so I had to use a saucer and there was no teapots or tea laid out. I couldn’t open my window and it was dirty begging the double glazing.
Excellent breakfast. Local produce and well cooked.
breakfast very good. interesting. slightly different. locationexcellent for visits of local places of interest.
I was very satisfied with the meals and breakfast, and the staff were very kind. A special mention to Giles - a wonderful person, extremely attentive and courteous. I had a car issue and he handled it admirably. Thank you again, highly recommen parking free
Nulla
Very personal and attentive service
My room was at the front and very noisy and to add the bed was very creaky so not the best nights sleep
Lovely boutique chic hotel. Good restaurant and wonderful staff. On the first evening I dined in the restaurant and had the fish and chips. You could taste how fresh everything was and could even see the capers in the tartare sauce and taste the fresh peas in the mushy peas which were seasoned perfectly. Parking on site, clean and comfortable bed, shower worked perfectly and there was a stand alone bath as well. Didn't need to ask for a fan or ironing board as they were already there. Oh, and there was complimentary craft sloe gin in the room!
Nothing
The Food excellent
The noise calls by very heavy traffic throughout the night without stop didn’t sleep hardly at all.
Amabilité de l'accueil (le manager parle un excellent français), sur-classement de la chambre, parking, le restaurant s'est avéré de grande qualité
Great location, well appointed comfortable room, on site car parking with electric charging, lovely breakfast and good evening meal options. There is also a small quiet room for hotel guests to use if they wish which is nice if you don’t want to sit in your room or the bar.
Service is a bit hit and miss with menus missing and having to ask for things several times
George and Dragon is a large but mediocre pub, with a big restaurant extension at the back. It has a small car park at the back as well. It is right on the high street and very close to the golf club.
Pretty well everything could have been a lot better. There was no marked reception: I had to wait until the barman was available - who pointed me to a weird desk. The room had no air con, no double glazing, and was very noisy, small and cramped. Nothing like the advertised pictures. There was a package "To help you sleep" - with eye covers, and ear plugs: so they saved £1/2m on refurb, and hope that you wont complain because you get a "free" 50p sop. In the summer heat I had expected a sheet on the bed, not a heavy winter duvet. The large overhead shower dripped noisily all night. The whole place has been done by an interior designer about 4 years ago, who probably has never stayed and slept overnight in a hotel. It is now looking a little worn especially on the bar areas. Breakfast was supposed to be great: the sausage was appalling, bacon was dried shoe soles probably, but the scrambled egg was excellent. Tasted like someone trying to save £3 on the cost of the meal, never mind the quality. The waitress was good, but that doesn't make up for the other issues.
Alle waren sehr freundlich - gutes Personal. Das Zimmer sehr individuell und gemütlich. Schöne Terrasse und gutes Essen.
Alles okay
The food was excellent.
A lot of thought has gone into everything that could be needed in room.
Nothing
Lovely traditional English pub, but the weather was very hot and our room was also hot.
Nothing, except the lack of air conditioning.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had great amenities. Fantastic presentation and nice small details. The room names were a nice unique touch. The food was fantastic.
In the room the light over the bed was a bit dim and the bed headboard a bit creaky, but not enough to disrupt sleep.
Loved the staff the most !
Nothing
Everything.
Ruime kamers en aandacht voor details
we enjoyed our stay at the George. The staff were friendly and the beer and food were good. The location is good for looking round the shops and local area. Hope to stay again in the future.
All was good.
Everything was very good. And the parlour upstairs was a nice detail.
I would have loved to be able to open the window properly.
due to the hot weather rooms where to hot and the fans they have are way to noisy to use and ineffective
Perfect location (with car parking), lovely historic inn, great food and very helpful, friendly staff. Fabulous long views from the dining room. Nice touches in the room itself, from shortbread to sloe gin to a super shower ( we enjoyed a premium room).
Very little to report under this heading. Struggled with the shower gel dispenser, and the bathroom door wouldn’t quite shut properly. Would suggest two bins, one for rubbish and one for recyclables such as paper and plastics. The excellent fan which was provided was very necessary on two warm nights. But really this was a quality stay.

Great staff , very helpful and courteous, great location.
Loud kitchen extractor unit that rumbled away most of the day until late at night. Expensive drinks , food expensive, we went to the Hotel across the road , a lot cheaper.
Everything - the location the gorgeous rooms the breakfast
Nothing
Good service at dinner and reception on arrival. Room was clean and well equipped but small and dated.
Bar areas were dirty, tables with remains of food left uncleared. Yes it was 4 p.m on Sunday and pub was still quite busy. Dinner was v disappointing. 2 acceptable main meals and 2 roasts which were not at all palatable. Breakfast poorly set out. No tongs for fruit or bread, tiny plates, surly staff.
We originally booked five rooms at The Kings Arms Westerham in November last year for my son’s wedding in June this year. In February, we were informed that the hotel would be closing for refurbishment during our stay. Although this was a very stressful situation, the Bel & Dragon stepped in and accommodated our entire party. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. A complimentary room upgrades was offered, this was a very generous gesture, and greatly appreciated. The rooms were beautifully presented, spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. After the unexpected change to our original booking, this thoughtful touch immediately put us at ease and showed the genuine care and attention the Bel & Dragon has for its guests. Every member of staff was exceptional. They were warm, friendly, professional and always happy to help. Nothing was too much trouble, and they genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable and stress-free as possible during such an important family occasion. We had dinner at the hotel on the Friday evening, and it was absolutely superb. The food was beautifully prepared, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect for our family to relax together before the wedding. Breakfast each morning was equally impressive, with an excellent choice of freshly cooked food and something to suit everyone. It was the perfect start to each day and was served with the same friendly, attentive service we experienced throughout our stay. With my son’s wedding taking place yesterday, knowing that our family were being looked after so well meant the world to us. The Bel & Dragon played a huge part in making the whole weekend such a special and memorable occasion. A heartfelt thank you to every member of the team. Your kindness, generosity and outstanding hospitality exceeded all our expectations.
Honestly, we couldn’t fault a thing. From the warm welcome and complimentary room upgrades to the exceptional staff, delicious food, comfortable rooms and excellent breakfasts, every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. It was a perfect experience from start to finish.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was good. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the water power was good (often not the case in older properties!). The gin and whisky lounge was a great touch!
For two people who travelled from abroad with two suitcases and two pieces of hand luggage and who then had to get ready to attend a wedding, the room we were allocated was small and that made things difficult. We know that some of our friends had bigger rooms than us. Not the property's fault, but we attended at the tail end of a heatwave and, as there was no air-conditioning in the room, the room was very hot, with only a (largely ineffective) tabletop fan to try to cool the room
Everything was very good.
Would have preferred to be able to open the window to really air out the heat.
Excellend breakfast
no air conditioning in very hot weather
Nice location. Good restaurant space.
Very well kept and presented. Spotless bathroom and clean room. Good food.
Staff were very friendly & helpful, especially when working under the pressure of exceptional heat and a private party Just felt a little disappointed with no access to the terrace. And a bit limited menu. The one issue which should be addressed was the mattress- it has seen better days, needs an upgrade. Breakfast staff very welcoming, and a good selection of food
see above, mattress upgrade needed
Great staff
Noise from outside
The room was very spacious and comfortable
The room was a bit chilly and the ceiling was low for my husband. The water was not hot enough to run a comfortable bath which was a shame because the bath was roll top and looked inviting.
Everything we needed for our mini break. Comfortable and tastefully decorated.Lovrly friendly staff.
Nothing
The place was very pretty, clean, tidy and a really pleasant environment. Although we didn't have time, it would be an excellent area to walk. It is very near Chartwell which we visited and enjoyed very much. It is also close to other tourist destinations.
Nothing.
Great service. Great breakfast.
Room was a little small. Parking full on arrival in evening , but available next day.
Sehr hübsches Zimmer mit vielen kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten. Typisch englischer Charme. Sehr empfehlenswert. Gerne wieder.
Everything, it was perfect . The facility was like a movie set it was so old but the rooms so clean and the amenities profuse.
Nothing
Good location. Bed was.comfortable but i would have liked a choice of pillows - feather or foam
Lights were dim esp over bathroom sink.
It was very clean. The staff were very friendly and polite, and it was a very pleasant experience all round.
There was really nothing…
Our stay at the george & dragon was excellent food was brilliant our room was kept clean with fresh towels ever day the staff couldn't do enough for you well done.the location for us was ideal being national trust members.
No need for anything here.
The breakfast was excellent and also dinners in the evening. Lovely quiet room at the back of the hotel with countryside in the distance. Very clean rooms and friendly helpful staff.
Nothing.
I really liked the interiors of the george and dragon, the staff were also very friendly! The breakfast was amazing.
The mattress was a little too soft for me, but this is just a personal preference.
Cool decor, clean, good food (breakfast was delicious)
Very poor sleep - noise from drunk patrons outside, curtains did nothing to block light & bed creaked and dipped whenever we moved. Very small room making it hard to move around. Room was also very hot - couldn’t open window due to noise from people outside and rattling windows but a fan was provided which was welcome.
Big room , nice coffee in bedroom , great breakfast.
It was expensive for only one night.
Our room (The Darby) was excellent. We didn't expect to have a small annex as well as the main bedroom so that was a real bonus. The bathroom was gorgeous and the Bramley products were very nice; the Bramley reed diffuser ensured the room smelled lovely. The addition of the Dyson Cool was really appreciated and it was super efficient. Lastly, the breakfast was outstanding. The breakfast room/restaurant is lovely and bright and very well decorated and the food was marvellous - the best French Toast I've ever had!
Nothing I can think of to fault this lovely pub/hotel.
Gute Lage mitten im Dorf. Privater, wenn auch enger, Parkplatz. Nettes Personal und gutes Restaurant. Gutes Zimmer.
Die Bausubstanz ist eher mässig. Die Böden schwingen bei jeden Schritt.
Location Staff Food
Breakfast was very good the location was perfect for what we required (Chartwell) Staff were helpful and friendly
nothing that i did not like
Our room was outstanding with many thoughtful touches including complementary sloe gin, eye mask, ear plugs, room spray and radio playing restful music. The bed was very comfortable, and the beautiful bathroom with a roll-top bath was complete with lovely toiletries. We enjoyed an excellent dinner and breakfast and would happily return.
Nothing, it was faultless.
The location great
Have stayed there a number of times in last 3 years but high standards have slipped since last visit 3/4 months ago. Room cold no thermostat mattress very poor- very soft. Slow service at breakfast and the self service area there seemed lacking no butter for example and poorer selection than in the past.
A really great place, we loved the atmosphere. Room was well made up, little small, but perfect. The tasting gin was a great touch. The food in the restaurant was really good. I would definitely stay again
Nothing, it was great
Very personal, stylish, comfy yet up to date
Nothing
Very pleasant and welcoming staff, excellent room and very nice food, one of the best hotels I have stayed at.
Nothing
The hotel is in a central location close to shops, restaurants and cafes. Also walks in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was great with a comfy bed, good shower and tea and coffee plus water and a complimentary gin. Good choice at breakfast. Free parking although can get busy. We would definitely return.
Nothing
Each room has a dragons name which I loved. The bar was dog friendly, water, treats and a blanket to sit on. I didn’t have my dog. But loved the fact it was there. My room was small and located at the front. It was beautifully decorated and the bedding was fresh and clean. The bathroom was very clean with fluffy white towels which looked new. The soap, shower gel, hand lotion and face towels were a nice touch. And complimentary sloe gin in the room. I was next to a quiet lounge which was a little room off the corridor where you could enjoy a whiskey or sloe gin and enjoy the peace & quiet. I am quite particular on cleanliness when choosing where I stay and this gets a 10. The breakfast was great too. Thanks for a lovely experience at the b&b. Will go back next time visiting friends.
All great
Cosy
Room bit hot and cold randomly
Location, on site parking, good restaurant
?
The rooms was very clean and comfortable with a coffee machine and kettle. The breakfast was excellent!
The staff in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast were a bit casual.
Nice old pub in a good location with friendly staff. Food good.
All fine
Supposed to be complimentary whisky in the room which was missing, not that I wanted it anyway but you do say.......
We stayed at the George and Dragon for one night as we were attending a wedding nearby. The pub and hotel was lovely, we were really impressed with the size of our room and all the included amenities. We paid extra for a slightly bigger room and think it was well worth it! The bed was comfy, room and bathroom were both large. Sadly we didn't get to use the bath but it was a very decent size tub. All bath and shower products were available, along with a coffee machine and even complimentary sloe gin. The 'Quiet Room' was a nice touch, where you could have a whiskey or sloe and play some cards. The staff were nice and helpful and there was just about enough parking for us in the back carpark. It is a busy high street outside but the noise didn't bother us at all.
Breakfast was ok - there seemed to be only 1 member of staff running everything which meant fruits and juices weren't replenished often and service was a little slow. The full english was average but there were a decent range of options Drinks in the pub were crazy expensive. We live in London so are used to high prices but it was close to insanity. I would say overall G&D is on the more expensive side compared to other places in the area, but you also pay for the great location of Westerham.
Beautiful old property in the heart of Westerham. Tastefully decorated with real attention to detail. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. EV charging points in car park !
Nothing
Breakfast fine although service a little slow- we were the only guests at the time
Better service in restaurant - they made it clear they were trying to close the kitchen down at 8pm!
The hotel was a lovely building, very warm and cosy. Our room was large, comfortable and nothing was missing from it fulfilling our expectations in every way. The breakfast was fine, but the buffet selection was quite limited, compared to other places we have stayed recently.
The menu in the restaurant was quite limited, it included lots of ingredients which I had to look up, which I felt was a play to snobbery, rather than taste. We had planned to eat in the hotel but instead chose to eat out one night and would probably have eaten out on the other, had it not been very busy due to an event in the town.
Breakfast was exceptional
Nothing
Beautiful breakfast using excelent quality produce. Tastefully furnished comfortable bedroom with everything you need.
Instructions on how to open sash window.
Good location Central Secure car parking
We booked a large double bed And paid an additional amount for this The brochure on booking.com showed a large room We were given a small standard room Photos available We were told that’s all booking .con requested We felt let down Not a great nights sleep
Our stay was very comfortable. The dinner was fine but not brilliant. Breakfast was ok but service was slow and there weren't many people there. I may have been biased as we were in a hurry.
The food could have been better.
We stayed in a small double room, which was small but comfortable. As we entered the room we heard the soothing sound of Classic FM, coming from a bedside DAB radio. There was complementary sloe gin on the desk to continue the feeling of relaxation. The room temperature was just right and the bed and pillows were also comfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant area was good, served by friendly, efficient staff.
the room was spacious clean lovely atmosphere friendly Staff .All ages the breakfast was a great choice and very well presented , complimats to the cheff .
having a wider choice of ales
Stayed in The George room what a beautiful room.
Nothing
Great character throughout. Professional friendly service during our stay. Lovely little guest lounge. Quiet and cosy despite being on the front and over the bar (but we did check in as the bar was closing so not sure what you would hear if it was busy). Enjoyed the free nip of spirit they left for us. Great breakfast with plenty of choice for people that don't want a full English (which was also available).
When we got into the room after being out at a wedding, it was freezing because the radiator had been turned off by a previous guest - we turned it on and sat in the lounge for 20mins, problem solved. Then it did get rather hot overnight, so I understand why the previous guest turned it off. Maybe the pub could set the valve in a half-way house position or some other solution? I also reported that the shower tray needed a plunge as it was close to overflowing. I'm sure they will attend to this.
Cosy, clean , friendly staff , great location . Food exceptional. Great atmosphere. Beautiful rooms

Lovely location, beautiful village
Very old building so did get a quite cold. Staff provided extra heaters
It was warm, cosy and friendly staff who were very helpful. We had everything we needed for a nights stay.
There were lots of stairs to climb which were very difficult for my disabled husband. The wall and TV were very close to the end of the bed which was awkward in the middle of the night if you needed the loo. The TV was stuck on one channel so we couldn’t change it.
Really kind people
