Location and friendly staff
Dirty carpet and broken toilet seat
Room size was great. Very comfy bed. Coffee and Tea making in room. Breakfast.
Room 14, we believe was right above the kitchen and from 7am it was quite noisy, with doors and banging down below, also the kitchens fans. No water to drink in the room.
My car was trapped in the CarPark. The cars blocking the entrances to the external bedroom doors made it impossible to leave the car park. I would not stay in this hotel again for this reason. The staff should ensure that cars on not parked outside these bedrooms.
Location, location, location.
Car parking, lack of ventilation in the room
Excellent location and lovely cooked breakfast, really nice !!!
The toilet flush mechanism was very old and unsuitable and in the world of phones, laptops and Ipads, stad U must have plug sockets by each bed in every case !!!!
Comfortable and clean. Good location and nice food. Friendly helpful staff.
Quite noisy in the room at night and quite a hot room.
Good location for city centre and local transport. The river was a 15 minute walk away.
I was in a stable room, which was right next to the car park. Cars would park right outside my window, and sometimes with the engine still running..The room was dated.
Staff were fantastic, rooms clean, breakfast excellent.
There was nothing to complain about.
Perfect location near the cathedral. Room comfortable and really clean with good facilities. A good breakfast choice in the morning as well.
Prefer a walk-in shower, but the over-bath one worked well.
Breakfast ok but be better if we could help ourselves. Staff were friendly. Good service.
The room was directly on the car park snd there was some noise early morning. I booked a double room but ended up with snow accessible wet room which did not seem easy to negotiate. Room too hot even though there was a fan. We thought it was far too expensive, we h as be stayed there : times before but considering it’s not London be area it is an outrageous price. No breakfast included, either.
Nice big room good facilities in hotel generally and great central location with free car parking all much appreciated
There is no sound proofing and very creaky ceiling jn bedrooms so a lot of noise from bedroom above when occupants speak or walked about unless on top floor but very old building so maybe not possible to prevent
It was central and clean
A pleasant inn/hotel very well located yards from Ely Cathedral.
Somewhat dated room fittings.
Excellent service, helpful staff.
Location
We liked very mich that the hotel accommodated us on the ground floor even though they had to turn a double bed into twin for our requirements The location was spot on being close to a venue where we were attending a family ceremony and get together
Difficult to pinpoint except perhaps more of a choice for lighter meals
The location was on point, and the facilities were kept clean daily.
The matras was a bit on the hard side, but that is my own preference, not a problem with the hotel
Thr staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was good..plenty of choice and generous portions. The bed was very comfortable with good bedlinen and the room well insulated against road noise. It is ideally placed for the Cathedral and visiting Ely
Internally the hotel is a bit noisy with creaking floors and noise of plumbing but it eventually quietens down. The decor is very plain and functional but ok for one night. A bottle of water and a couple of biscuits in the room would help.
Right by the cathedral. Old world charm. Lovely dining facilities. Clean. Bike storage.
Bed was ok but a little soggy. Not being able to charge my ebike.. I understand the reasons that hotels are cautious about charging bikes although the risk is modified bikes not purpose made ones. An outside plug would be a compromise, even if it meant sitting in the courtyard with a beer while it charged. Luckily the area round Ely is flat!
Location is central and good for all Ely attractions. The car park is safe within the hotel although only takes about 15 cars and need to negotiate Ely one way systems. Staff were really friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent - range of choices all well cooked. We knew this hotel 20 years ago and it really has improved. Good priced accommodation. - we would stay again.
The radiator to dry towels just didn’t work. Drinking glass in bathroom was dirty - still full of someone else’s toothpaste!
Great location right in the town with parking. The rooms are a good size. Rooms at the front are noisy on a Saturday night though! We had to leave very early in the morning and they made sure that there was breakfast for us! Thanks you.
Bit tired round the edges but it’s a decent price so you expect that.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The most important thing for me was the help I received with meals, due to my allergies. They were fantastic. The hotel is within walking distance to all places of interest and has a great little shopping centre.
The bed was very comfortable, the pub and restaurant were clean and tidy and nicely decorated. My husband actually trained to be a chef there when he was 16 (36 years ago)
We loved the hotel and our stay, the only little comment would be lack of ventilation in the bathroom when showering and also the bathroom was quite small.
Great welcome and wonderful food, quiet location in central Ely.
Not much parking
Lovely old building only down side was no aircon stayed when it was very hot
No aircon
Location
Steep stairs and no lift, even the step to room 14 seemed dangerous with no handrail, so much so that my wife could not come down for . However a member of staff went out of his way to deliver room service.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, own restaurant, good location.
Central room light didn't work.
Location, comfortable bed, clean and staff very friendly
Nothing
Close to Cathedral and Local Shops
Basic Accommodation but clean, floors creak a lot, anyone walking the corridors etc can be heard when in your room, but expected as it is an old building. Bank Holiday Monday, Breakfast was busy, arrived at 9:15, allocated a table but no Tea or Coffee offered to us, staff busy serving other guests, but as there was still no sign of our food after 40 mins, we left without eating (despite pre-payment) as we had a min 4 hour journey home.
Very welcoming staff. Great breakfast and comfortable room.
The room was a little dated.
Great location off street parking, staff very friendly.
Room was a bit out dated, but was clean
location near the cathedral
seperate shower or wider bath for over bath shower would have been nice.

Great buffet breakfast with nicely cooked eggs and salmon or avocado. Quick service. Comfortable beds.
Windows need to be replaced!!! On their last legs!
Staff (from receptionists to chamber staff) were so polite, helpful, charming & professional . Setting in town centre next to the cathedral couldn't be better.
Parking limited.
Good location, lovely staff, tasty breakfast.
Rooms need to be updated and the parking situation is not ideal.
The location though this was a double edged sword what with us having a room onto the street- the price for a room with a view?
The stairs and seemingly no lift for those who, possibly unwisely, travel with suitcases fully packed

I had continental breakfast and was impressed with the buffet choice and Fred Ed of the bakery items and fresh fruit. I did look at the cooked menu and was impressed at the choice.
I would have liked to be able to shut the window to reduce the street noise. The guest WiFi signal was very week in the bedroom and was insecure.
The location was fantastic and the hotel and bar had a very good ambiance.
The was a lot of noise outside but it did die down from 11 pm
Location and staff
Lack of honouring the 20% guest discount on evening meal because I book through booking.com not direct
Dropped Mum and Dad at the Lamb for a couple of nights , While visiting family in the area , The Staff were Amazing the room was perfect they accommodated Mum and Dads needs by giving them a ground floor room , The room was Beautiful very large with a big wet room , Everything about their stay was superb , They loved every minute , A massive thankyou to all at the Lamb , See you soon .

Wonderful stay! Friendly staff, lovely rooms and fantastic food and location. A*

Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful - especially the bar staff
Our shower got stuck on. Had to go downstairs to report the issue
Great location, friendly helpful staff. Clean rooms. Nice breakfast

Ability to park on site and location in Ely.

Fantastic staff and location!
Tutto perfetto soprattutto la gentilezza dello staff, la camera e anche il mangiare
Good position near cathedral and high street.
Window sashes broken so had to prop it open to get any air. No comfortable chair in bedroom. Decorations a bit shabby.
Location
Room was not great. A little tired and in need of a thorough refresh.
Fantastic location, friendly staff and comfortable room.
We loved the shack rooms outside the hotel
Nothing
Room facilities good. Bed comfortable. Room very warm. Would havehelped to be able to open the windows more. Surprised by no lift which means a climb of 2 staircases with cases. This is a major weakness of hotel facilities in my view. Also no forewarning by staff or help with cases offered.
See above re lift. Dined in house one night and the meal was very average especially given the pricing. Didn’t help hotel as we had breakfast out based on our experience of the food!
Great location
Car parking available from when I arrived, large room & great breakfast plus perfect location.
Staff were nice and food was good
My room was very hot. There was a fan but it wasn’t on as I had no access to my room before we left for our wedding
Love this place great greene king inn . Love staying in the stables . Clean friendly people food very good
The hotel was basically good and in a great location but I would not recommend for families because staff were intolerant of children and unable to deal appropriately towards a neurodivergent child.
Attitude towards children and in particular a neurodivergent child
Staff, reception, bars, housekeeping, restaurant were all very professional and very friendly. Location in the centre of Ely with car parking on site.
Nothing .
Good central location at a good price
Parking. Creaky floorboards. Room was very hot, fan was provided but air con would have been better (but then this not typical British weather)
Beakfast good quality food but slow service sunday morning was very busy .good location nice old building very clean rooms
This was our honeymoon night . We were late to arrive after our reception but let in back door by cleaner .full wedding kit on .no reaction no congratulations . No recognition from any staff no congratulations at any point despite me making them aware this was our wedding night on two occasions previously .if you want a special night for your honeymoon/ wedding night do not spend it here .your expectations of a nice welcome maybe a card or a bottle of prosecco or even a congratulations doesn't happen a bit disappointing compared to how other hotels in the area have treated newly weds .the waitress lesley was lovely and congratulated us at breakfast when we told her we had just married other than that nothing .
Great location. Helpful staff. Excellent breakfast
The location. Staff friendly.
Bedroom a little tired and would benefit from a refresh. Cooked breakfast was served cold (and I mean cold rather than warm!). Waitress said it was because the kitchen was having to manage with a large order (a table of 7 evidently!). Shower curtain was ‘grubby’ and needed a wash or replacing.
Location
The stairs
Ideal location for the City and the car show we attended. Nice size room outside the hotel, so more private and quiet. Fan provided which was essential in the current heat.
Not enough milk in the room. Entrance door very stiff.
Before you even set foot inside the Lamb Hotel, you know you are entering a place steeped in history. The character of the building and the warmth of the staff only reinforce that feeling. Here, you can fall asleep surrounded by the atmosphere of the past and wake up refreshed, looking forward to what the day has in store.
Staff very friendly and helpful
Staff were lovely and friendly. I stayed here for two nights for a friends wedding. Unfortunately the room was very basic. The bathroom and room could do with modernising. I used the shower ( over the bath) but couldn’t turn the shower off due to a faulty/old tap. I had to leave the shower running get changed and go downstairs to inform the staff as there was not a phone in the room. I then went for a walk about one hour whilst they attempted to fix the shower. When I returned they had just fixed it. I returned to a room full of stream and extremely wet. The window could only be opened a crack and the mirrors could not be used. This was unfortunate as I had a wedding to get ready for!
Room could be modern, no telephone in the room very basic
Friendly staff, reasomable price and city centre location.
I like the property and the little town very aesthetic staff are very inviting and comforting felt comfortable for sure
The lack of sockets by the beds are a slight issue but you know you make do
A busy pub/hotel right in the centre of the charming cathedral city of Ely. A good choice at breakfast and from the bar during the afternoon/evening.
A small car park.
Rooms/beds were comfortable Staff were very nice and friendly
Unfortunately the heat/weather did impact on our enjoyment but that's no fault of the hotel. We had a fan in each room but I felt the heat was impossible whereas my husband didn't struggle with sleep. Perhaps next summer portable air conditioners will be essential. Breakfast: Some REAL butter would be nice!! in the eggs, on the toast and at the buffet bar. ..for the crumpets!!!
Great location. Decent breakfast. Had an evening meal there which was good.
The hotel decor is a little dated
Staff r very welcoming. Breakfast is very good n presentation.
Managed to get a hotel parking space Friendly, welcoming staff Nice breakfast Comfortable lounges Superb location near Cathedral and shopping streets
Not a problem for me, but stairs up to second floor Other family members on a different floor
A very centrally situated hotel with free parking for hotel guests. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order with a buffet for fruit, cereals and pastries.
It would have been good to have a lounge area with comfortable seating.
Very clean and nice stable room.
Location of the hotel is fantastic. Rooms a bit old but function perfectly.
Great location, onsite parking, good food and drinks, and comfortable clean quiet accommodation.
Selection of Green King Beers could be improved.
Excellent location in the centre of Ely. Staff were very friendly and obliging.
Had difficulty getting out of the front 2 door options with a walker . One has a big step and the other has 2 sets of doors ..
The hotel entry, lounge and bar were beautiful. In the evening I had a lovely Sunday roast dinner in their beautiful dining room. The hotel is very central and close to the cathedral, to Cromwell's House, etc. The bedroom was nice and quite. I didn't have breakfast. I only stayed there one night and dashed off early to see Sutton Hoo, before heading back to Sussex and the end of my road trip.
My room was a long way down long passageways, up and down stairs of two or three steps and through fire doors between the buildings that make up the Lamb Hotel. I'm getting on a bit so I left my big case in the car. The carpark was hard to find so I missed out on the last parking space. I blame satellite navigation for that, and the one way streets. A map/explanation and a good sign on the entry from the street might have helped.
Lovely large spacious room - lovely staff - would visit again.
The staff were excellent and very accommodating. They allowed us to check in early and they kept our cases after check out so we could stay in Ely until our train later in the day. The breakfast room waitresses were especially nice.
It would be wonderful if air conditioning could be added.
Centrally located, close to all facilities, shops and Ely cathedral. 10 mins walk to the riverside.
Friendly, welcoming, and attentive staff. Quiet, spacious, spotlessly clean & comfortable single room with en suite bathroom Excellent full English & continental breakfast Central location for exploring Ely and surrounding area Free car parking in town
Can't fault anything!
Superior room was very grand with comfortable large four poster bed Good range of gluten free food on menu
Shower a bit small and only a fixed overhead one. Wallpaper peeling off in places in our room.
The room and locatiin were exceptiinal
Nothing
Bed was very comfortable! Very nice hotel in general.
All good! I did experience the sound of footsteps in the night though!!
Good location & nice room
Shower didn’t work . Staff welcome ok . Service wasn’t great in the restaurant Saturday evening , much better at breakfast .
Lovely place would definately stay there again
Everything beautiful place
Location
No lounge area
Superb breakfast.
The room was infernally hot, with no way of cooling it. Car parking did not work well..
The Lamb Hotel was clean, very comfortable and the staff friendly and nice. The curtains kept the room pleasantly cool even with such high temperatures. We Couldn't have been better located to wander around Ely. The staff, especially at the downstairs bar were extremly helpful, with requests for coffee in room and glasses. Breakfast was wonderful, and I loved my vegan option.
Nothing!
The room was ideal lovely and clean
Everything was spot on
Location Fantastic breakfast
Lack of air conditioning. However the room did have a fan and the weather was incredibly hot. Difficult to get in car park, which was full
