Fab location, right by the riverside. Easy walk to town centre and to the station. Lovely riverside walk too.

The breakfast was meagre. They ran out of fruit and milk on one morning. I wouldn’t bother with breakfast there again. Staff uncommunicative but other residents were nice.

The location is right next to the river and is absolutely beautiful.

The parking next to the hotel is only for 23 hours in a 24-hour period, so I had to move the car twice to avoid a parking fine.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely guest house. Our room was exceptional; very clean, beautifully furnished and the view across the river was breathtaking. We had great communications with the guest house and the breakfast was great too.

It was spacious and so cozy. Staff were quick to respond and the location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again. Also the breakfast was amazing!

The breakfast was varied and fresh however we arrived well before it was due to finish and they’d run out of some items, croissants in particular.

The location of the property allowed us to fully explore the beautiful city of Ely whilst also taking full advantage of the riverside walks on our doorstep. The room was absolutely stunning. Boutique hotel quality with lovely little touches like the chocolate, biscuits and bottles of water. Loved the contactless check in too.

We were lucky to find a car parking space nearby but it might be an idea to have an allocated parking space for each room it looked like there would be space around the side.

Very good location on the river but also a short stroll to the cathedral & town centre. Room was very clean and nicely decorated with a nice en-suite. It was on the smaller side. Some rooms look over the river probably cost more but ours just look at the brick wall opposite. But we arrived late and checked out at 10 so wouldn’t have had time to look at views. There isn’t a reception and you get a text to tell you door codes etc. this all worked well. Breakfast was a good choice iof hot and cold. Parking was on street but we managed to find a spot. But I understand there is a free car park nearby.

It was a bit on the smaller side & no view but for one night this didn’t matter.

A great location adjacent to the river. The owner met us outside and immediately organised the parking. The refurbishment was to a very high standard and we could easily walk to town and the cathedral

The Location and the room were wonderful.

The sheets and towels had too much laundry fabric softer or detergents used. The sheets were extremely smelly with STRONG perfumes, this made it very hard to sleep and an allergy to the smell. The breakfast staff (one lady) seemed to be doing everything and therefor very grumpy and not friendly, rushed, and came across rude. Im sure she was just stressed with doing it all by her self.

The room had everything which we needed, with plenty of power points in the right places. It had good lighting and mirrors, with a hairdryer in the right place for seeing. The bed and armchairs were generous and comfortable. The shower was excellent.

The room was very nice ,and you had a good range to choose from for breakfast. The location was near the river and about 20 minutes from the train station .

We didn’t like that it didn’t have any parking . As you had to find some where to park .

What can I say, it’s exceptional. The location is superb, overlooking the river & boats. With local bars & restaurants on the door step. We ate at Urban, fantastic food & service. All the fixtures and fittings are quality. The room was comfortable with an excellent bed & bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Probably the best guest house I’ve stayed in.

Parking, I struggled but I will forgive it as the accommodation was fab.

Owner is rude. Misled on parking, there isn't any. But occasionally the owners space may be available for £10 per day.

The on-suite was very small, there was 1 tiny wardrobe so my clothes stayed in my case. The cooked breakfast was ok if you got up at 8am but dried up by 9am.

Great location. Very very clean, comfortable room with entertaining riverside view. Not noisy. Windows opened, not a given in lots of places. Airconditioning really helped as the weather was very warm. Felt safe, which is a real thing for women travelling on their own.

Door locks announcing they were unlocked. Likely specific to the room as the very nice luxury private bathroom was across the hall so locks announcing their status felt like they could be intrusive for other residents in the night. Breakfast window very narrow 8-9.30am. Having to leave for work meant missing breakfast. Tbf I didn't ask for an alternative.

If, for any reason, you have an early flight from Stanstead - don't stay at the airport, this place is 40mins away by train (literally 5 mins walk from the station/Stanstead Express) and is pretty idyllic and chill with riverside vibes. You can explore the historic city centre and Cathedral. Why wouldnt you do this instead?

Layout of the guest house, meant that my special needs brother could not just walk to our room from his, he had to go outside the door at the front and around to the side door to get to ours. Breakfast was quite basic.

The room and the bathroom are so small!!! Just room for the bed and not much more. Also this place is not a pub it’s a stand alone guest house that is near a pub. So lacking in any ambiance. Not my favorite place so wouldn’t recommend or stay again

I didn’t receive an email letting me know the combination number for the front door, and where to park.

I stayed there because it seemed close to both the railway station and the Maltsters concert venue. Both were a 5 minute walk! The view of the Great river Ouse from my bedroom was sublime. I got up at 6.30 after having slept unusually for 7 hours but I then noticed that the breakfast was only from 8am so I took a walk up to the Cathedral and found that due to the "morning prayers" the side door was open, soni went in and had a couple of minutes photographing! When I got back at 8.30 I was really looking forward to breakfast. The decaf coffee was one of the best I have tasted, the self service cooked breakfast was tasty. The muffins were delicious and so was the miniature fresh fruit salad. My only criticism was that they used UHT milk for the cereal but had fresh pasteurised milk for making the teas and coffees! I was well impressed and will happily return and pay to properly visit the Cathedral and if possible stay longer at the "Riverside inn"!

Excellent location! Close to Ely Station, Ely Cathedral and downtown areas. We were allowed to check in early. We had to check out before breakfast started to catch an early train. Friendly staff. We would definitely stay again!

The hotel does not have dedicated parking. Since we had to check and early train, we parked at the train station and made the short walk to the hotel.

Rundum ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt: perfekte Lage, sehr herzliches Personal und ein kleines, aber ausgezeichnetes Essensangebot. Das Zimmer war makellos sauber, das Bett sauber und ausgesprochen bequem. Die direkte Lage am Fluss mit Blick aufs Wasser macht den Aufenthalt besonders angenehm. Für einen Wochenendtrip genau richtig. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal.

Das Badezimmer verfügt über eine Badewanne mit integrierter Dusche. Für uns war das absolut kein Problem, da wir beides nicht zwingend getrennt benötigen. Für andere Personen ist das evt. relevant.

No parking on site, we had to park away from the property, but no room for us to leave the car to get into the hotel. We didn’t stay, we found a hotel with parking.

The location was stunning. Everything we needed was in the room. I was grateful it was a ground floor room though I had not asked. (Was that because I had ticked the “over 75” box?

The breakfast was a little disappointing. No fruit and the scrambled eggs were rather overcooked, but that was the only thing, and besides it’s a guest house, not a 5* hotel!

Advised plenty of parking but Ely festival meant finding a space was difficult so not a relaxed arrival , both pubs said they regularly have guests asking for assistance. Main problem was the building was so hot . Advised it was too early in the year to switch on aircon. Had paid extra for a river view which I had planned to sit and read by but was insufferably hot. The second night we had to sleep with the front and bathroom windows open to get a breeze. However this meant we were regularly woken by the outside noise from the railway and waterways. First morning at breakfast 8-9.30 we arrived at 8.50 am there was no eggs left and was told that once it is gone it is gone! As a non meat eater I therefore had a choice of cereal or croissants! Ten minutes later the waitress offered to ask for more but did not think it would happen! Second morning there was plenty but choice is limited to bacon, sausage, grilled tomato and scrambled egg. Coffee in rooms is horrid, Toiletries for second nights stay was not replenished. No personal feel as everything is done via text message.

If I had to pick the only fault I had it would be to have baked beans with breakfast

The room was rather compact, but spotlessly clean. The ensuite a fair size and well-furnished with towels (bath 'sheets' a real bonus).. Provision of a coffee machine and bottled water for same a plus. Housekeeping was generally very good, as was breakfast service. Hands-off self-service access to room went smoothly. The location, by the river and a small park, was charming, although be prepared for a walk up to main high street and shops/restaurant area and places of interest. For a stroll by the river on a pleasant evening, however, the location was excellent and was a short walk to both the railway station and major supermarket. Just as well, as buses in Ely appear to be virtually non-existent and there is no place to hire a car, whatever about local van hire.

We did try to cool the room down by opening windows, but a request for a lighter quilt and/or lowering the room temperature was not addressed, although we left a note for housekeeping after our first night. The breakfast was OK, but no variety in the cooked items. The coffee was the best we had anywhere on our trip and the breakfast staff were very pleasant. Actually, the only time we ever saw staff was at breakfast. The venue seems to operate a hands-off policy, which can be a benefit, but a 'hand up' the steepish stairs with cases would have been welcomed on our arrival as there is no lift. Guests were also left in no doubt that breakfast finished at 9.30 a.m. when staff started to clear away, so not really served until that time as such. We noticed one couple arriving at 9.25 who were taken aback to see items disappearing into the kitchen.

Location was by the river and close to the train station. The room was comfortable and the rooms amenities were very good.

If the breakfast offered was better I could agree with the price but it was a little high for a poor breakfast.

I just love riverside inn because it's very quiet and it's in a lovely area plenty of benches to sit and watch the boats and people going by.

The room was getting too warm - not sure if it was because the heating in the bathroom was on and I couldn't turn it off because the control panel was locked. Because of this I had to open the windows to cool the room but it was a bit noisy with the windows open.

Excellent location right on the river and only 10 mins walk from the station. Superb quality throughout and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was beautifully presented and included hot meals as well as fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, fresh rolls and muffins, and of course freshly made tea and coffee. Only a 10 min walk to the cathedral through the park. Perfect!

The bed was very comfortable but the pillows are very high and solid - luckily I had brought my own! Everything else was wonderful.
