The stay was very comfortable and everything was clean. The staff were absolutely amazing—very friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Osman and Dafna for everything. They were both wonderful and really made our stay more enjoyable. The only downside was that the elevator wasn’t working, which was quite inconvenient. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay and really appreciated the wonderful staff.
elevator wasn’t working
The receptionist Jasmine was so polite and helpful

Very modern and so clean

I loved the layout and design
Blinds in bedroom a bit dusty
The dining room and bar were lovely. Staff extremely helpful
Our first room was a little tired. The TV wasn't working, when we complained the next morning we were given another room which was a lot better, not sure why we were given a room that obviously needed refurbishment when the hotel was virtually empty.
Excellent and hotel clean
None
Nice location, good facilities, nice sized room
Room was dusty and the carpet Cupid have been cleaner
The location of the hotel is great as it’s a 10-15 min walk into Bournemouth. The beds were really comfortable and we had a big bathroom. We also made use of the bar area and enjoyed drinks and playing scrabble.
There are a few things that let the hotel down including the breakfast, wifi and the shower not being very powerful.
Lovely looking hotel
Lift was broken (can’t be helped) but made it harder for people in the upstair rooms
Only the location
For a four star hotel, we expected much better. The mattress in our room was badly sagging with pronounced dents, making it impossible to get a proper night's sleep. This was clearly more than simply finding a mattress uncomfortable. We reported the problem at checkout but received only an apology and no meaningful attempt to resolve it. More concerning, we subsequently found a June 2026 Booking.com review specifically reporting that the mattress in the same room was damaged. We made a formal complaint and requested a refund. Instead, management offered a future upgrade and parking, and when we explained why this was not an appropriate resolution, they stopped responding to our emails. Problems can happen, but what matters is how management takes responsibility and puts them right. Unfortunately, we experienced a complete lack of accountability and very poor complaint handling. We would not stay here again.
Very cute hotel. Nice bar area. Staff were very helpful and friendly
Lift was broken which made it hard for some guests but obviously not something that could be helped
Staff, location, breakfast, was all great. Reception area very nice.
I paid £146, plus £15, room needs new carpets, couldn't open windows, which needs a good clean, bathroom no cups to rinse. Bath had hair in plug hole, from more than one guest.
Ideal night stop for going to the Pavillions and lovely breakfast with helpful staff.
The property was really clean, rooms spacious and beds really comfortable. Very quiet.
All Good staff location We stay hear regular
Nothing
Communal area and bar area nice
Rooms were tired and carpet was dirty and stained
Big comfy bed bathroom was new , Great relaxed location Good breakfast buffet Tasty food at the resturant Lovely afternoon tea Staff were exceptional with my child
Old staines on bedding; bathroom had black mould, room very unclean, old stained carpets, room was still not clean, even after housekeeping had been. Could not get another pillow Chairs in the room had old food stains on Wall had old spilt coffee on it Upon checkout, i discovered they had been charging me £15 per day for parking: i did not have a car, and communicated this at least 3 times......
Great location, good value, friendly staff
Nothing
The hotel is poor, and the room price is overpriced. The elevator has been out of order for some time and has not been repaired, which made it difficult to carry the luggage to the room.
The hotel is within walking distance of the beach and central attractions plenty of parking which is chargeable at the property. The hotel itself is lovely very comfortable decor could do with a lift here and there but otherwise fantastic it has a higher end feel. As you walk into the foyer it has a homely feel about it. The staff are lovely you are greeted with a friendly face all the time. The breakfast is lovely plenty of choice continental, cereals fruit juices tea and coffee and of course the full English which is amazing. We opted for the evening meal to and all I can say is it was cooked to perfection plenty of flavour . This was the second time we have stayed there the rooms are spacious again could do with a lift on the decor here and there but comfortable and plenty of hot water when bathing or showering. Our room was lovely king size bed plenty of towels and of course the shower gels and shampoo etc provided. If you are going to Bournemouth for a holiday this hotel is well worth the stay !!! Already planning our 2027 holiday there
Nothing not to like is lovely
I. A great location. Plenty of parking. Staff very nice and helpful. Room was lovely. Shower was lovely. Bed was so comfortable. Highly recommend :)
Nothing
It’s a nice little Hotel
The fact you spent over 100 pound a night for a room and they still charge 15 pound a night parking! I think that was diabolical
The lounge area, although most of the time there was no staff for example to get drinks!
There are areas that make it look very tired looking, examples paintwork especially on doors. More time spent on cleaning especially showers as my husband had to clean out the drainage in our shower which was totally clogged up and did cause an overflow of water into the rest of the bathroom. Road noise was quite bad, even coming through windows, frames etc. need to be updated. We also had 2 nights and early mornings of noise from other customers, one night I did complain to the reception in the morning and lucky she said they had checked out. The next evening a guest had plonked herself at 2am in the morning on a chair that the hotel had placed outside our room with another chair and a small table, now although this may look nice it is not very practical as the lady was talking so loud on her phone, in the end I had to get out of bed get dressed and go and speak to her to ask her to move, I was not happy having to do this at that time in the morning.
The room was nice and spacious and bed were clean and comfy .
The breakfast was ruined by the lazy staff member who couldn’t be bothered to serve , clear tables or replenish the juices or fresh meats and cheese , he was sat in his phone in the foyer . He was rude and passive aggressive after asked for tie things he then said “ anything else “ in a sarcastic way ! I asked for a plate and he said “ what for” when I was trying to get a croissant for my daughter . Not what you expect for a £30 Breakfast .
The location and general setting of the property, being made up of a few old houses. Felt cosy. AC seemed to work fine although we didnt use it much.
It was not really a hotel, a small boutique hotel at best. The rooms were small, and damp (our room was on the ground floor) and spider webs were visible on the ceiling (2 were already dwelling there). The central courtyard can get noisy if guests use it, and it woke me up at 3 am as some people were loudly chatting. There was no response from the reception when called to ask to resolve this, which was disappointing. There was no one at the reception either, so I had to ask the guests to keep it quiet myself (which is not ideal).
Close to the beach, great location
Quaint and charming
The staff were friendly and did try to help when issues raised. The location of the hotel was good with short scenic walks to the sea front.
We booked a double room for myself, my wife & our 1 year old who we brought a travel cot for. That was our first mistake. Firstly parking is £15 per night which we wasn't aware of until the day before due to a message through booking.com we had a 3 night stay so was a additional £45 on top of what we paid. Our initial room was completely unfit for booking out & nothing like the pictures or reviews may suggest. As you'll see from photos it has mould on the pictures, the carpets were badly stained and worn/ripped in places. The walls had paint peeling off them, mould around the bath/shower. Wonky/loose toilet seat.. the list goes on. That's without the things I'd class as "general wear and tear" like marks all over the walls and skirting boards. It wasn't suitable and just felt dirty especially since we were staying with a 1 year old child who would be crawling on the floors. I went straight to reception to complain and let them know we couldn't stay in that room. In fairness they apologised and said they don't usually get complaints about the room (I really don't know how) and that they would change the room for us and gave us some complimentary coffees while they found us something better which was nice. I went to view the second room before agreeing which I would also class as unfit and refused. The third room was actually a king size (The manager said one of there best rooms) and although it was tired and had some of the same issues (marked walls, skirting boards etc.) i agreed it seemed good enough for us to stay in at least on my initial look at the room. This was my second mistake and in hindsight we should have got a refund and stayed anywhere else.
Great castumer service
I like hotel’s location.
There was a rather unpleasant smell, and the room did not match the one in the picture. The air conditioning was not functioning properly; it cooled for a few minutes then heated up again. Dust was on the lights, the television, and the air conditioning unit. Additionally, there was a spider in the room. Overall, it was a bad experience and not worth what I paid.
Good location
Nice, quiet and clean
I liked the breakfast , the air conditioning and some stuff
The lift doesn't work of which they should be very clear about this so that customers notice after fully booking and paying. We found our room open coming back from breakfast and no one was there but our door wide open, we could have our luggage stolen by anybody. In the evening we found one bin emptied and the toilet one not, one room not done, complained at reception and someone came later but left us very small towels
The garden was nice
The rooms were extremely small, especially the family room, which was far too small for a family and felt quite cramped. The parking charge was also ridiculous and added an unnecessary extra cost. Unfortunately, the location wasn’t great either.
I go to Bournemouth a lot and every other hotel was booked up so my first visit to The Orchid. I guess The Orchid is like a B&B, but better than some hotels I've stayed in. The Orchid was perfect for me for a 3 day getaway....Airconditioned room, amazing staff, perfect breakfast (not a huge buffet which was safer calorie-wise for me but breakfast was perfect every morning, super peaceful.....easy parking, short walk to beach and everything I needed. Some reviews said shower not great but was great for me...very powerful, rooms very clean and spacious with coffee machine and all the amenities needed. Big shout to Jazmeen on reception....always smiling, very helpful, professional but superfriendly and smiley! Another big shout to Sarah, dealing with busy breakfasts daily, always smiling, nothing was too much, super-efficient even when it was full to the brim she was on fire. Last shout to chef and kitchen...didnt see then but perfect everytime. I didn't have dinner there as lots of restaurants around but sure if food anything like breakfast would be great! My only negative was the staff looking at the sun during the eclipse and explaining they could go blind!!! The hotel could do with a bit of a makeover, lift not working, some of the upholstery a bit worn and tired but tough economic times means near impossible to do makeovers! Price very reasonable for summer time of year, will most definitely be staying here again, could not have asked for any more!
The newly decorated room was lovely
My friend was in the older rooms and was less than impressed First appearance - looks like a care home
Very friendly and helpful staff on front desk and for breakfast. Clean room, comfy beds, excellent location and nice ambience in hotel. Air conditioning was perfect antidote to scorching weather. The bar area very nice and relaxing, as was the courtyard. Cooked breakfast very nice too and good selection of foods as part of continental element.
With a baby, it wasnt ideal that the lift was out of order. We couldn’t take buggy upstairs as a result and had to make other arrangements. Having to pay £15 to park seemed excessive too. Why can’t this be free for hotel guests? Also, although breakfast was very nice, for £15, one would expect much better coffee available like a bean to cup coffee machine. The instant coffee in the flask not in line with standard of hotel elsewhere.
L'emplacement est pratique. Chambre agréable.
Parking payant 15£ pour la nuit. Petit dej commence à 7h donc pas possible de prendre le petit dej quand on prend le bateau de 8h30 pour rentrer en France.
The hotel itself is very beautiful and well-decorated, exuding comfort. It is very well located, very close to the beach and the town center. The beds are very comfortable.
When we arrived at the reception, there was no one there to assist us. We had to wait about 5 minutes or more for the receptionist to show up. There was no fridge in the rooms. It took a long time for the hot water to come through in the morning. And the crib we requested wasn't comfortable at all.
Good location, friendly staff, decent room
Toiletries provided were somewhat lacking, plug for bath and sink had been switched around which confused me until my girlfriend pointed out I was being an idiot
Clean and airy. Friendly and accommodating staff.
A little bit tired. Very few staff.
We liked the location and the view from the window
It could have been looked after a bit better as there were smash cracks in the windows, there was no fridge in the room and you have to park £15 a day for parking which if you book directly with them, you don’t have to pay so we found that quite unfair as there is no direct price statement. Like it says that there is a charge but not how much. So it’s all a bit shady.
Great location, secluded, personal and looks so pretty when arriving. Parking on site (£15) per day, essential for us with two small children. Excellent breakfast and great value all round.
No lift, difficult as family rooms are on 1st floor. There is a lift but it’s out of order, no plans to fix. Staff were super helpful. Actual room needs a little TLC and nothing a lick of paint wouldn’t fix, so no excessive expense and would make this hotel perfect for holidays. Hose in shower was broken spraying water everywhere which was a little difficult washing two young children. Reported and fixed without delay, so attentive staff which is always refreshing!
Great location close to the beach and town centre
Ok good position
Room very small and didn’t have what was advertised
Great location, comfy bed, clean and good aircon
Lack of basic amenities, no hand towels or soap in the rooms. No water or glasses provided. Had to ask for ketchup/brown sauce with breakfast. Staff were nice but seem to have no bar training.
Very friendly staff. Great location, just a 5-minute walk to the beach and 8 minutes to the city center. The breakfast selection is limited but good. As we were very dissatisfied with the first room, we were given another one. This room was significantly better. The quality of sleep was much better, and overall the room was of good quality.
The rooms are very dated, and some of the blinds cannot be fully closed (we had a ground-floor room overlooking the courtyard, so people could see inside). The rooms are poorly insulated—you can even hear the wind, even when it is blowing at a normal speed. The windows were also very dirty.
Room was nice and tidy Check in was good
Charged for parking. Should be included. Lift not working Tv not working - staff fixed by plugging in cable and resetting channels Pillows need to be better
A good room and friendly staff
Solides Hotel, das sich gut für eine Zwischenübernachtung eignet.
Der Preis war aus unserer Sicht überhaupt nicht angemessen und unverhältnismäßig.
Excellent location, away from the bustle of the city centre but within easy walking distance. Very helpful staff, nothing seemed too much trouble. Comfortable small hotel with good facilities and a bit of style.
Some aspects are getting tired and would benefit from a bit of TLC: but nothing major.
Friendly staff and very helpful

The hotel was clean . Reception was very welcoming . Bedroom good & food Buffett good
Having to pay £15 for the parking when I had already paid for the hotel
Lovely hotel which is small but has all that you need
Parking is tight and they charge for it but I guess it’s because it’s Bournemouth. No bar snacks.my room was fine but there was a wedding onand they were letting children run around the hotel so I spoke to them about it. Very good receptionist and would return.

Great
Great
Very close to Bournemouth Pier - literally 5 minute walk. Bed was comfortable AC worked a wonder in the UK heat Staff friendly allowed us to check out later Breakfast staff very sweet
Made us pay 60pounds for parking (hotel guests??!) No elevator (big bags and a toddler) Small sized room Very dirty - stained carpets, housekeeping with clean towels on the floor, dirty toilet on entry, the bin so dirty. Had to clean the cot as was so dirty not sure where it was stored honestly.
The location was excellent! It has a nice bar, lovely outdoor garden.
Needs to be updated, the decor, the bathrooms.
Very happy with the choice I've made.
Location was perfect, walking distance to everything we needed. The room was adequate, small but comfortable and clean.
There was no soap at all in the bathrooms, not even to wash our hands!
Great location Lovely staff
Having paid a lot for the room, paying extra for parking in their private car park, simply because I had booked through booking.com
The room was beautiful very roomy and modern
Nothing really just the power of the shower was low but that can be a problem with low pressure sometimes. But everything else was superb x
Friendly helpful staff.
Carpet on bedroom floor was stained
Lovely room, great location, nice food and great staff.
Little bit dated decor and noisy in the night ppl coming home
Very nice and helpful staff. Mini fridge in my room was missing.
All the staff were very polite friendly and very helpful.
Nothing really!
Room was spot on and excellent to have air con in the hot week. The staff at breakfast were really excellent and made us a poached egg which was perfect. We watched the football in the bar and it was a great atmopshere.
Lift was out of action which was problem for one of us. But everytjing was very good.
Location was okay
I payed extra for a “classic king” room expecting a larger bed as expected and a larger room size. Neither was the case. The bed was a small double and when I contacted the staff about this they said they receive many complaints like this as it’s underwhelming. It was my girlfriend’s birthday and felt like I just waisted my money.
So many flies everywhere
No lift for baby buggy
Very friendly staff
After 1:00 am if you have a room next to the door in the corridor you wake up from the noise when the door closes
The hotel is beautiful and clean, it has air con, lovely bar and restaurant
No fresh vegetables for breakfast
Kind staffs
Good location Air con in rooms Good shower Staff nice Didn’t have the breakfast but it looks and smelled nice

Clean, brilliant staff, perfect location
The room was nice and smelt nice
Nice clean modern feel, intimate, small, cozy, friendly staff, open bar, nice simple breakfast. Perfect for a short stay. 5 mins from the beach front in the less busy section.
Booked for 2 adults and a child got and got a room with 2 single beds, so not very practical a double would have made sense, rooms a small.
We love this boutique hotel. The staff are fantastic. Friendly, efficient and make you feel important and cared for.
Wish there was an ice 🧊 machine.
The location was within walking distance to the beach which was convenient and the staff were friendly. The restaurant food was very for dinner and breakfast except for the coffee which was not hot. West Beach is better than East beach which was dirtier and busier.
There was no curtain or block out blind in our room as someone had pulled it down accidentally the week before and it had not been fixed so we struggled to sleep as the light streamed in all night and the staff were unable to sort it or give us another room. The bathroom extractor fan was not working and the non-slip mat was missing, despite a sign stating it should be there. Our used towels were not collected as indicated by the policy note, though reception kindly handed me fresh ones when asked. The parking per day was £15 which I think is too much especially when you are driving around during the day visiting other places and having to pay for more parking. Most annoyingly is that when I gave the hotel an opportunity to respond to my concerns they never bothered to respond or do anything to help.

Lovely
It is very but the lift didn’t work.
Very welcoming and friendly
As it was a suite i thought itvwould have had a fridge and bottled water
Whats not to like, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and relaxing environment. My room and the hotel facilities were first class.
I honestly can not think of anything I disliked.
Lovely charming hotel, the rooms are modern and it has a very pleasant outdoor space. Breakfast room is very cosy and food was good, however would be nice to have a better variety of fresh fruit and maybe some cheese. Very well located close to the beach. Parking is on the expensive side, however it seems to be similar to other places around.
Close to the beach
Had to pay £15 for 24 hours parking although we spent a fortune on 1 a one night stay. I would reccomend removing this for future guests. So much mold on ceilings in the bathroom, walls throughout the building was filthy.
Good location very clean and welcoming
Nothing all good
The breakfast was great, it had air con
No fridge in room, no bottled water asked for this at reception they said we have a tap in our room, furniture very run down in restaurant, decor very run down in hotel, parking is charged
Lovely, clean and friendly staff. Great location. Would definitely stay again. Great value for money.

The staff were all brilliant and they couldn't do enough for you. There was a good choice of breakfast on offer and the location was perfect, this is why we chose to come back to the Orchid Hotel and the bed was lovely and comfortable.
Where we've been here twice before the standards seem to have dropped. We found the safe wasn't working so reported this but the staff couldn't get hold of the person that day to resolve the problem and it never was resolved. The lift was out of order, there was a light bulb missing from one of the shades, the bathroom sink plug did not work, there was no hand towel in the room so had to request for one and the carpet needed a good clean. In the bathroom it showed the anti slip mat was located below the sink, but again had to request one which the maid got immediately. We think we were located near an outside air conditioning unit which kicked in at late odd hours during the night so this kept my partner awake as he is a very light sleeper. It appears that the little touches to the hotel have gone and everything was to a bare minimum so we were a little disappointed on this stay.
Great place to stay with friendly staff room was spot on. Especially with a/c as it was a warm spell.

Breakfast was good. Good location in the heart of town close to beaches, town centre, and shops around. The staffs were Friendly and helpful expecially Nouman and Barbara they were both really helpful during our stay. Overall satisfied with the service.
The AC was on throughout and working but not cold enough as the room was still warm even with fan, the bathroom was extremely warm and the heatwave did not help either. One of the staffs came to check it on the day we arrived and he put off the heater but it was still warm throughout our stay.
Very good location for the seafront. Very pleasant staff. Very clean. Plenty of parking.
Breakfast was mediocre. Food overcooked. Not good selection. Room fairly small and basic but comfortable. Overlooked the internal courtyard and adjacent passage so couldn’t fully open the blinds.
Room was beautiful spacious bathroom. Beautiful hotel garden. Close location to beach/town. Reasonable price for a night stay.
Nothing bad to say
Hotel was modern and all staff were friendly. The hotel had air conditioning, even in the room which was perfect for when I stayed as it was very hot. The breakfast was lovely. My daughter said she liked the bed as it was very comfy.
I would have liked to have had a mini fridge in the room as I was there for 3 nights and didn’t have anywhere to keep the drinks cold during the very hot weather. The shower wasn’t powerful enough for my liking and it needed to be replaced as there was water leaking out of the top of the head.
The staff were all friendly, the hotel itself was bright, clean and had nice décor. The location was great, less than a 10min walk to the beach and only a 5min walk to the town centre. The bed was big and they provide free cots for baby.
The blinds in the rooms were letting too much light in. Outside the room was the courtyard which had lights on all night. My baby struggled to fall asleep due to this.
It was clean and the room was big and comfortable. I even given a cot for my daughter for free which is amazing.
When I came in I had to wait for long cause no one was in the reception, they later explained it was a busy evening. The room was not cleaned the following day, apparently they said I should have put out the tag at the door to notify them to clean. Despite notifying them early noon about this they said their cleaner had already moved on and could not guarantee her coming to clean the room. Also, there were sculptures of gods in the entrance of the hotel. To be respectful of other people’s religion I don’t think this is a fair practice.
Location was perfect for what we needed.
Our bedroom was right by a fire door so was awake from 06.30 in the morning from people going through the door and it banging. No ideal.
Great location. Wonderful hotel.
Only the carpet was not very clean.
