Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Great, comfortable base for our first night in NZ. Check-in was fast and hassle-free. The room was clean and quiet, and having a functional kitchenette setup was very convenient. An easy walk to the tram.
The beds could be more comfortable. But, not bad for a night or two.

The bathroom. Yuck. Multiple areas on walls and ceiling where the paint is peeling, holes, mould, areas coming away from shower and bath unit. When it look's as bad is this did it is hard to feel it is sanitary and clean. This room needs to be renovated.

Reviewed Jul 23, 2026I love staying here, this is my second stay and I have already booked my third. The host is very accommodating. The first time we came with a bike he offered somewhere to put it safe. I also don't like sleeping on electric blankets, the host makes up my bed without them when I request. I love the spa bath and have been able to get unit with one every time I request. The bed is super large and comfortable. This is my go to place to stay when I come to Christchurch.

Dirty stained under sheets bed. Looked like sex stains. Electric blanket only worked one side. They found another OLD one. ( No test tag ). Looked like 1990s model . Said about room change they would not re their expense. Asked re parking at booking was told plenty room Campa van, arrived not really, they said could park on street I advised not safe. We found room only because not great amount other vehicles where there . Value low. A $90 property ( room ). Not $140.

If you stay there Affogato Cafe a 4 min stroll from the motel serves delicious breakfasts. The two bedroom apartment was perfect for our stay. Self catering amenities too.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026Great location, close to the city, walking distance 10 mins with a bus stop right outside the front door, bus 27 which goes through the CBD to the Bus Interchange. The staff at the motel were very happy to store our bags as we arrived early. Our Superior studio was very spacious and clean and had the bonus of Netflix and other channels.

Heat pump smelled bad and didn't heat as well as it should have. Had requested bed to be made up in lounge, which it was but could not sleep on sofa bed as it was extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom basin was very slow to drain. Fridge was very loud, therefore disrupted sleep. The unit over all was a bit tired and in need of redecoration.

Reviewed Jun 2, 2026A great place to stay with free CARPARK!! Very close to the central city. Just a short walk away you find yourself in the middle of ChCh center. Even through the motel is on the side of one of the main road but the rooms are so quiet and positioned right at the back. You won’t hear the traffic at all. Very thing you need is in the unit. Beds are comfortable slightly on the softer side. Room has a couch, small kitchen with a microwave and mini fridge. Kettle and toaster plus hairdryer are all provided.

A big plus is the short walk to Town Hall for concerts and easy enjoyable walk to city centre restaurants and bars, Court theatre, new stadium and Art gallery which saves on driving and parking hassles. Staff are very nice and helpful. The bus stop right outside goes to the central terminal. Would definitely stay again.
A rack or shelf in the shower would be good to save bending down for toiletries.

Reviewed May 26, 2026Property is an easy 10-15 min walk into the city centre. Off street parking close to unit. Easy to find when arriving from the airport. Good heat pump and bathroom heater.
When adjusting shower temperature make sure you do it very slowly and a fraction at a time otherwise it will run either very hot or very cold. Once set it’s ok.
