A good size studio, very well equipped, clean and quiet. Well priced and a great location. A comfortable bed and super size armchairs, making for a very relaxed weekend stay.

Great location in the city. Easy walk to the town hall, restaurants, cafe and gardens. Everything was super clean and we really enjoyed having a spa bath and outdoor table and chairs on the balcony. Friendly easy communication with the owners too.

All good. felt 5 star. Warm, cosy yet plenty of space, electric blanket, very clean and tidy, quiet room, and very helpful reception staff. Excellent value for money.

The location was perfect for the city. Room spotless and well equipped. Good information from reception. Good value for money.

There is no aircon for hot days/nights. We did know this when we booked . There is a fan. There is a very very small push out window for the only fresh air. If you want to have the door open security camera sees right into all of your room. Very clean and convenient room. But not private unless you are happy with no air flow at all. Laundry $6 large load of washing which was convenient. Helpful and friendly lady at reception.

The location is absolutely amazing, as it is within easy walking distance of the city center. The reception staff were incredibly kind and helpful, which made a very positive impression on me from the moment I arrived. One of the highlights was the jetted tub—it was fantastic and so relaxing! Everything was great, and the only thing that could have made it even better would be having a washing machine in the facility. Aside from that, it was a wonderful stay!

We loved the location, close to the CBD. The management were so friendly; the room cleaned as needed. Laundry on the premise was excellent!

This is a great location for walking around Christchurch city center. The place was clean and had nice amenities. The concierge was helpful in recommending things to do.

Great location 5 minute walk into Christchurch Cathedral and city centre. The accommodation was clean and presentable, we were in a one bed studio flat, the bedroom was on the first floor which was nice. There are tea and coffee facilities, if you need to cook there is a hob, but be advised not to cook fish or any other smelly food as you will get charged extra! There is a local restaurant called The Guardian Bar & Grill, food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this motel 5/5

Extremely pleasant stay in a very clean and well located apartment in Christchurch ! The room was fairly big with a nice patio. Close to all the restaurants. Parking was free! I Would absolutely recommend !

A wonderful room with spa bath in this peaceful and excellent accommodation very close to Christchurch city centre. Very helpful reception lady who helped us see the best of the centre during our short stay. Spotless accommodation with every single amenity you can think of. Do stay here if in Christchurch - we can highly recommend it.

A very nice clean, tidy place to stay, had everything we needed and was very close to the city, within walking distance. The bed was also very comfortable and the staff friendly, would stay there again.

Our stay at the Columbo in the City was very disappointing. We travel extensively, but the customer service here, in particular, was the worst experience we've ever had. We were shown to a room that was one third smaller than the one we booked. The lady then gave us a convoluted excuse to try and explain that this was somehow normal. When we questioned this, the lady described us 'as difficult customers'. Booking a room she said was 'a bit like a rubik's cube', which left us utterly dumbfounded. We felt it only right that the room grade we booked was the room we should get. The motel itself is fine, but nothing special. It is fairly close to city centre which is good. However, with so many other options available, we'd suggest you look elsewhere.

In the city centre, warm welcome, helpful information by the staff, clean, spacious rooms, well equipped kitchenette.

On the plus side Spotless room, bathroom and seating area. Everything inside the room 100% tidy. Very pleasant and helpful staff, especially reception person. On the room for improvement side. Lack of privacy. Very bad architectural design. Room 802: unsuitable for honeymooners, as the only window is against a narrow passage where circulation guarantees people having fantastic view on the double bed + motel next door is looking directly in the bedroom. Outside ranch slide has a public area with little tables for social gatherings a mere 1.5 m. from the bedroom, free entertainment for guests. Thus, unsuitable for honeymooners, first time lovers, etc.

The room was large and accommodating with a Mimi kitchen. The staff was very accommodating. Parking is available for a fee. The only downside was the air conditioner did not work properly, the hotel was booked full so they could not switch my room but they did provide a fan which helped.

We booked a 2 night stay to acclimatize after a long flight from Europe. It is the perfect spot, only 15 minute drive from the airport and a few minutes walk to the city center. We had a standard room, no hot plate so you need to eat at a restaurant (or prepare a microwave meal, what we did since we kind of fell over from not sleeping for 24 hours ;-) ). Anyway, nice bed, fine shower, simple kitchen but fine for us.

Very clean and tidy motel. Close to parks and food venues. Perfect location for a stopover from airport at Christchurch to start or finish your trip. Booking directly gives a discount on price.

Got a ground floor studio, with close proximity to the car park. Amenities were sufficient, perfect for a couple of days stay. Very close access by foot to the CBD, making it ideal to avoid the parking costs.

Laundry could be offered for free though, I mean come on...

It was reasonably cold outside and the windows had been opened to air the room while i was out, so the room was cold on returning. There is a smell if wool in the room so perhaps this is the reason the windows were opened while I was away

Proximity to city was great. Short walk to centre but just far enough out to be quiet. Hospitality of property management was really appreciated. Room was very clean & had everything you'd need. Really enjoyed our 3 night stay.

Freezing cold room with one very small heater. In the winter, you need to turn heater on a few hours before guests arrive to warm the room up.

A very positive experience. Our unit was warm and clean. It was serviced and re-supplied with tea, milk etc daily. When we discovered we had left our phone chargers at home, the manager willingly supplied us with another, at 9pm on the night our arrival.

The owners were very much "going through the motions" - not rude or dismissive, but just not particularly interested.

Excellent location. We have stayed many times and always find the units sparkling clean and fresh. This particular stay we had just left the Sunshine Coast in 27 degrees 🌞and arrived back in to Christchurch to 3 degrees and a southerly wind and sleet .. freezing cold🥶 we arrived at the unit checked in and the heater was on in the room and the electric blankets ready for us.. such a lovely gesture. We will definitely stay again 😊

Nothing it’s all lovely. Just one thing not a grumble but a suggestion. Maybe a do not disturb sign to hang on the door for folk that have arrived late etc and want a sleep in, just to let the excellent cleaning staff that they are not required. 😊

Nothing at all. our stay was terrific.

Great rooms, and facilities, comfy beds and pillows. Only downside is that there is building work going on next door with a lot of noise coming from power tools and banging going on. The builders started working at 0740 hours on the morning. Of course this does not take away from the lovely clean and modern facilities in this motel.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Colombo on the City. Very comfortable and quite with plenty of parking. Easy walking distance from the CBD.

Location location location. It is hard to find a motel which provides free parking, perfectly positioned to be just 5 to 10 mins drive to almost everywhere. We chose to walk to The Crossing to do some shopping and enjoyed the breeze. Love it. The only reason I did not give 5 out of 5 was that the property is a bit dated. Having said that the housekeepers did a good job to make the place clean and comfortable. Can’t find a better value for money city accommodation than this. We will come back and stay in this motel again on our next visit to Christchurch. Highly recommended.

We checked in late due to delayed flights, but by prior arrangement the keys to the unit were left inside. Had a surprise when we discovered electric blankets had been turned on for us that cool evening. Certainly worth a return visit if we were in Christchurch

The whole experience was exceptional.❤️ The bed was 5 star standard. linen etc were very plush. It was a Ramada standard with service and only a few blocks from City Centre. It was a 5 star apartments in the City. Best Hotel we have stayed since Wanaka. Such a pleasure to meet the Owner who was so gracious to inform us of the Best Restaurants to go such as the King of Snakes and their Cocktails ❤️

Clean, carpark is available. We were given room on 1st floor so it was good, don’t need to carry Luggage upstair.

It is quite a distant from centre, abt 15 mins walk. There Are restaurants nearby but limited choice
