Hotel Cala Caterina - Relaxing Escape

wonderful attentive staff who were very pleasant throughout our stay. Everyone from reception, to bar staff, to restaurant staff, to cleaners, to lifeguards were always very thoughtful and helpful. situated on a lovely small beach with crystal clear water. A small drive into Villasimius which was a great town with restaurant options. Plenty of stores for some shopping too. nice pool and good service around loungers around the pool, garden and beach.

the bedroom was sadly a big disappointment given the pricing. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Despite being a large room there was only a small desk chair in the room with it looking very sparse as a result - there was plenty of space for a couch or some armchairs around a coffee table that would have made it much more welcoming. The walls were bare without any art which would have also softened the space. The lighting was terrible. Only spotlights and bright overhead lighting, no soft lighting whatsoever. In contrast the bathroom was very nice - recently renovated large bathroom with a good shower (slightly cramped though). We were staying in room 107 (sea view) and possibly got a bit unlucky with our room choice. We had a shower prior to leaving in room 115 (arranged by the lovely reception staff as the hotel was full and we couldn't get a late check out). Despite being a cheaper room (no sea view) this room had a couch (couch bed but still) and was a bit more inviting. On the facilities front I would expect a hotel at this price point to have some sort of wellness/fitness centre. Nothing too dramatic but the lack of it was somewhat notable. There's plenty of space in the beautiful gardens for a wonderful wellness/fitness pavilion (possibly in place of the outdoor massage space which I never saw used during our 5 day stay)

The quality of the dining was absolutely outstanding. The evening meal offered a range of exotic choices and original interpretations of traditional dishes. Both the sourcing of ingredients and quality of the cooking were exemplary. There was an extensive list of exclusively Sardinian wines. Breakfast, though largely self-service, was also extraordinarily wide-ranging and indulgent. Both meals were served in a lovely setting with indoor and outdoor, but equally light-filled, options. The staff were unfailingly warm, efficient and hospitable. Our clean and well appointed upstairs room had a lovely view of the pool and lawn, with hillside and sea beyond. Swimming in the limpid waters of the small bay beneath the hotel was absolutely delightful, especially early and late in the day when there were fewest visitors. Resting on the loungers on the grass immediately above the beach was also incredibly pleasant and peaceful.

The poolside lunch service could sometimes have been a little smoother. It was hot and the staff seemed rushed off their feet. Live music in the evenings by the poolside bar necessarily carries to the rooms that wrap around it. Noise can also occasionally be heard from rental holiday homes on the adjacent hillside. Every effort is made to deter wasps from the outdoor dining area, but they did take a bit of an interest in the fine food on the tables for all that.

Die Lage direkt am Strand, zu dem man zu Fuß laufen kann; der schöne, weitläufige Aussenbereich und Poolbereich & ganz besonders das sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Personal. Es wurde sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben, uns einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt zu beschweren. Ganz besonders war das Personal im Restaurant, auch auf spezielle Wünsche wurde eingegangen und das Essen (sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen) ist sehr gut gewesen. Am Abend sitzt man außerdem sehr schön unter den alten Bäumen und Lichtern oder sogar mit Blick auf das Meer und den Sonnenuntergang. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit und würden immer wieder kommen.

Unser Zimmer & Balkon lag leider Richtung Parkplatz und an der Lüftungsanlage, es war aber in Ordnung, wir hatten auch kein besonderes Zimmer gebucht. Dafür war das Zimmer innen drin geräumig, sauber und modern. Außerdem gut ausgestattet mit Mini Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher.

No tiene verdadera vista al mar, pues el.hotel esta retirado como 200 metros del.mar. y la poca vista que queda desde el.gran balcón esta semi tapada por vegetación A la tarde no se puede usar la terraza vascongadas.por el sol. No tiene ventiladores de techo!!! El aire acondicionado de la habitación no baja de 25,3 grados celv. Mucho cañar. Tuvimos que pedir un ventilador y el rindo del mismo no nos dejó dormir bien... unabhabitacion de 1.500 dolares la noche no puede ser asi

The hotel is located in a beautiful, calm environment. The small (almost private) beach is adjacent to the hotel park and sunbeds and umbrellas are provided by the hotel. The pool area is fantastic, clean, spacious and well maintained. The hotel staff is very helpful, the foods and drinks are of very good quality.

La struttura è molto bella ed accogliente. Elegante posizionata al ridosso di una caletta molto carina con acqua splendida e smeraldina. La camera davvero bella con una splendida vista, molto pulita.

Il ristorante ed il cibo non erano all’altezza. L’attenzione per il cliente molto scarsa. Un carpaccio di pesce spada veramente difficile da comprendere e zero possibilità per una persona celiaca di mangiare qualcosa.

Upon arrival, we were given a simpler room than we had booked without informing us. After we complained, they moved us to a decent room.

We have just returned from the most faultless and fabulous week here. Everything exceptional - beautiful setting and hotel, exceptional staff and service, some of the best food we have ever eaten with changing menus and huge variety. We took my 12 year old twins also and they had the best time. If you are thinking of booking here do not hesitate, we are already planning on returning next year. 10/10

Manca un parcheggio interno, non ci sono spa e palestra. Non ha servizio navetta per villasimius.

Es ist eine wirklich schöne, sehr abgelegene Lage. Es ist ruhig, sauber, hat eine sehr schöne, saubere Pool Anlage, die nicht überfüllt ist. Kein Kindergeschrei und auch Personal, dass aufpasst das keiner vom Rand ins Becken springt oder sonst wie stöhrt. Das Personal ist grundsätzlich sehr freundlich und auch kompetent. Es bemüht sich Probleme zu lösen, zum Bsp waren die Matratzen viel zu hart und da wurde uns sofort mit einem Topper geholfen. Das Frühstück ist abwechslungsreich und lässt keine Wünsche offen.

Der Strand ist wirklich überhaupt nicht schön, bei weitem nicht so wie auf dem Bild und er sieht auch nicht sauber aus. Es ist kein gepflegter Strand. In unserem Zimmer konnten wir jedes Mal, wenn jemand über uns auf der Toilette war oder sich geduscht hat, während dessen die ganze Zeiz den Abfluss hören. Diese zwei Probleme haben dazu geführt, dass wir schlussendlich 3 Tage vorher ausgecheckt sind, quazi auch Geld verloren haben, da wir die restlichen Tage bis zum Rückflug in nem anderen Hotel einchecken mussten mit besserem Zimmer und einem schönen Strand.

This is a quite exceptional family run hotel. Having stayed in many hotels around the world the service in this hotel is top notch. It is quite clear that the whole Cala Caterina team are committed to provide the best possible experience for their quests. Attention to detail is obvious. The food is excellent and the ambience is delightful. The wonderful beach is a short walk through the hotel Gardens. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Trop de monde à la plage (non privée et transat presque toujours pris), decoration et vue des chambres pas super et choix trop limités aux restaurants (pool bar et restaurants du soir). Bonne expérience en générale mais le rapport qualité prix n'était pas à la hauteur selon nous.

This hotel was much better than we expected! We had booked a comfort room with garden view and after a disappointing stay at another hotel in a deluxe room, we were expecting to be disappointed. However the room was spacious, quiet, very clean and had every facility you would expect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast had an excellent range of choices and we enjoyed the live music in the bar. We rarely eat in the hotel restaurant where we stay but here the food was so good, both in choice and standard that we ate in all five nights. Particularly liked the Sardinian night. Only drawback is the parking -the hotel does not have its own car park and parking was a nightmare -it involved parking on the roadside and then checking every hour to see if a place had been vacated in either of the two nearby public car parks.

Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno davvero piacevole: struttura molto curata, servizi eccellenti e personale sempre disponibile, gentile e professionale. Ci siamo sentiti accolti e coccolati durante tutta la permanenza. Vorrei lasciare solo due suggerimenti, non come critiche ma come spunti per rendere l’esperienza ancora migliore. Il primo riguarda l’orario del check-out: le 10:00 risultano un po’ presto, soprattutto per chi, come noi, desidera continuare a usufruire della struttura per l’intera giornata. Tengo però a sottolineare che il personale è stato estremamente gentile nel permetterci di utilizzare tutti i servizi fino a sera, un gesto che abbiamo davvero apprezzato. Il secondo suggerimento riguarda la possibilità di avere una camera d’appoggio o anche un semplice spogliatoio con doccia, dove gli ospiti che rimangono fino a fine giornata possano cambiarsi prima della partenza. Sarebbe un servizio molto comodo e rappresenterebbe un ulteriore valore aggiunto. Per il resto, l’esperienza è stata davvero ottima e torneremmo con piacere. Complimenti a tutto lo staff!

un piccolo dettaglio: durante i pasti la presenza di numerose vespe è risultata un po’ fastidiosa. Capisco che sia un aspetto non semplice da gestire, soprattutto in una struttura immersa nella natura, ma forse si potrebbe valutare qualche rimedio naturale o soluzione discreta per limitarne la presenza e rendere ancora più piacevole il momento dei pasti.

Cala Caterina was an outstanding choice for our first visit to Sardinia. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous grounds, a fantastic pool overlooking the ocean, and a stunning semi-private cove with some of the clearest, most beautiful water we’ve ever seen. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Every single staff member was welcoming, kind, and genuinely made us feel at home. Our room was spacious, comfortable, quiet, and had wonderful air conditioning, which was much appreciated during the warm summer days. The food at the hotel restaurant, both breakfast and dinner, were of high quality, as was the service. The outside bar with live music every evening was thoroughly enjoyable! We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Cala Caterina made our first trip to Sardinia unforgettable, and we would absolutely stay there again.

We stayed at the Cala Caterina for our Honeymoon. From the moment we arrived the staff did everything possible to make us feel welcome and celebrate our special occasion. Every thing was perfect, clean, friendly staff and excellent food. We will come back.

der Strand hat auf den ersten Eindruck sehr verwahrlost gewirkt, nachdem wir aber die Information über den Naturpark und das Meeresgras gelesen haben ist uns einiges klar geworden. Der Strand ist natürlich, türkisblau, sehr ruhig und wunderschön das zimmer ist sauber, groß und sehr schön, es ist aber auch sehr nüchtern, eine Couch oder etwas Liebliches wie Bilder könnten den Wohlfühlgehalt steigern. die Möbel sind sehr rutstikal. das Bad sehr schön und neu Frühstück war für Italien super toll! Nach meinem Geschmack könnte es etwas mehr Gemüse geben, Tomaten und Gurken jeden Tag ist etwas langweilig. Dafür gibt es alle Süßigkeiten die man sich nur vorstellen kann. Das Servierpersonal ist sehr nett und freundlich und es wird einem Tee und Kaffee serviert, das dauert etwas lange, es wäre vielleicht von Vorteil wenn man den Tee selber nehmen könnte. Der gebrachte Kaffee ist unübertrefflich köstlich. Das Dinner war ein Traum, ich habe noch nirgends so vielfältig und außergewöhnlich gut gegessen !!!!! Auch der Sitzgarten ist ein TRAUM, sehr ruhig und angenehm, mit vielen Pflanzen Der Park der Anlage ist auch unglaublich schööööön

Die laute Musik in der Bar am Abend. Teilweise gute Qualität, teilweise nicht so besonder, aber auf jeden Fall so laut dass man sich nicht unterhalten konnte und im Zimmer Ohropax benötigt oder die Türe schließen muss, was ich ob der guten Luft schade finde. Die Kunststoffsessel im Restaurantbereich der drinnen ist. das Zimmer könnte gemütlicher sein. Eine Toilette im Strandbereich wäre toll

Fantastisch hotel op super mooie plek, prachtige tuinen waardoor je zo naar de zee en klein strandje loopt. Heerlijk 4-gangen-diner voor normale prijzen en super vriendelijk personeel. Ontbijt is geweldig. Heerlijke plek om te ontstressen en te ontladen.

Spaanse toestanden bij het zwembad. Mensen die handdoek neerleggen en hele dag laten liggen terwijl ze even weg zijn. En met ongeveer 10x2 ligbedden voor een veelvoud aan kamers is de kans dat je bij zwembad kon liggen niet groot. Tip: haal handdoeken zonder dat er mensen zijn gewoon weg.

Incredible stay. Incredible service. We had an unforgettable stay at Cala Catarina. The property is beautiful, clean, and the rooms are comfortable. The beach is beautiful and quiet. Pool area is also quiet and luxurious. Wonderful breakfast. Service was what really set this property apart for us. More than once the staff went out of thier way to accommodate us and our needs. We arrived late on check in and even though the restaurant was minutes from closing, reception walked us back and made sure we were able to order something to the room. They booked last min massages for us and accommodated the times we needed. They packed us a takeaway breakfast when we had an early morning checkout. They just went above and beyond time and time again. Cala Catarina is a special place. Location was wonder, property was beautiful, but the staff/ service set this stay apart. We felt like we were truly on vacation at the beautiful Cala Catarina. I can't wait to return.

Die Hotelanlage ist sehr weitläufig, wirkt aber trotzdem angenehm überschaubar, und das Hauptgebäude mit Bar und Restaurant ist wunderschön angelegt. Ein echtes Highlight war das hervorragende Vier-Gänge-Menü inklusive toller Weinbegleitung zu einem sehr guten Preis, serviert von einem überaus freundlichen und aufmerksamen Personal. Zudem bietet das Hotel einen großen Pool, einen schön gelegenen Strandabschnitt und überall auf der Anlage verteilte, schattige Liegeplätze, die für perfekte Ruhe und Erholung sorgen.

The beach pictures are misleading due to the presence of seaweed. Guests should be made aware prior to their stay that the sea isn’t as accessible as the pictures show due to the large volumes of seaweed on the beach. It was expensive to get taxis to the local town - a minimum of €20 for a 3minute drive!

Great hotel, quiet (at least at this period). We had a comfort room on the ground floor: big, well equipped in storage and with a nice terrace with comfy sofa, well protected from Mistral. We ate twice at their restaurant : good value, menu renew every day for 40euros for 4 dishes. Breakfast is superb! My only request will be to propose an afternoon tea with the same excellent cakes that you serve at breakfast. A lot of walks directly from the hotel.

Let’s be frank, Sardina is no place for thrifties, everything has it price, but here you get your money’s worth, in service, in food and wine quality in atmosphere. Somewhat hidden in the most south-eastern corner of Sardinia you will fine a smaller but fully staffed hotel with ca. 50 rooms. Well fitting in the landscape, close to a beach, with a wide garden offering good viewing spots above the sea.

This hotel was unbelievably amazing. Everything was perfect — the rooms were spotless and comfortable, the staff were incredibly welcoming, and the overall atmosphere made the stay feel truly special. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had, and I highly recommend it.

The surroundings and vicinity to beaches...staff were lovely.

No air conditioning was highly uncomfortable to unbearable at points. Lack of food options or room service for such a remote location. Lunch menu is available for 2 and a half hours...should be available all day and evening. The beach needs cleaned of seaweed. They are throwing it back into the sea and ruining the ascetic of the magnificent beach. Consider using as fertiliser for the lawns.

We spent 5 nights at the end of the season and felt very comfortable. The atmosphere of the Hotel, the garden and the throughout kindness of the staff leads to high comfort. We booked bed & breakfast, which is for us ideal. The breakfast offers a rich variety. As mentioned in other comments, the scrambled eggs are different ;), but fried eggs are daily offered and soft boiled eggs can be ordered separately. The small bay invites to swim, but there were lots of sea weed at this time of the year. We recommend a car, as the Hotel is out of the way.

Magical, perfect holiday! Beautiful private beach, 4 courses dinner was absolutely delicious and the staff was so kind and helpfull.

I don't really want to write something........ because it is a hidden gem in our eyes! It was a great experience in every aspect! Will go back.
