Provider-sourced guest reviews.
In general, it was a great experience. Great hotel! Cristopher was very supportive and friendly all the time. We had a great time! Something to improve, would be the cleanliness of the room. It could definitely improve.
Property itself was wonderful food was good.
Unfortunately, our experience with some of the staff made our stay very uncomfortable. We were four women traveling for a bachelorette trip, and several comments and interactions felt inappropriate and made us feel harassed and unsafe. It affected us to the point that we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the hotel to explore or do tours. It’s unfortunate because the property itself was wonderful, but the way we were treated really impacted our overall experience.
My cousins and I stayed at Secrets Royal Beach for a week from the moment we got there to the moment we left, we loved it! The biggest credit to this resort is its staff. The nicest, kindest humans all around, from butlers to entertainment to waiters. The grounds are stunning and theres something to do for everyone. Food quality was lovely and fresh! Im a vegan and was assigned the lovely Fatima who helped me so much to make sure I was well fed all week. Preferred was brilliant. We had Manuel as our butler and he was so helpful and engaging throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed, nothing was too much trouble for him. We miss him already, great job Manuel!! A big shout out to the following waiters who made our stay fabulous: Wascar, Marlon, Cedar, Francis, Jamerson and kitchen staff Lilly, Chef Ferdinand and Chef Jean Luis! Thank you for your hospitality, your smiles made us smile! And last but not least, this hotel has the most incredible entertainment team!! They elevated our vacation and gave us the best time. A huge thank you to Chololat, Coconut Tree, Jorgi, Flower and the best host there ever was: Michael Jordon. You are all amazing and we hope to see you again soon! X
Me encantó el hotel, todas sus instalaciones, bonito, acogedor, limpio, muy buena gastronomía y sobre todo las atenciones de todo el personal fue excepcional.
Me gustó todo.
Beautiful resort, clean and well maintained. Excellent restaurant options. Buffets catered a good variety of foods and drinks. Daily fun entertainment if you wish to participate along with evening shows.. Staff attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Would not hesitate in returning to this resort.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 – AMAZING Stay at Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana! Our stay at Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana was AMAZING!!! I traveled with my sister, cousin, and niece to celebrate my sister’s 37th birthday, and this trip was incredible from start to finish! We stay at all-inclusive Hyatt resorts often, but this trip truly took the cake! We booked the Preferred Club Experience, and it absolutely did not disappoint. A HUGE shoutout to Super D, our butler, who was amazing from beginning to end! We saw her every day, and she always made sure we were having a great time. She booked our Hibachi and spa reservations, checked in on us, laughed and danced with us, and really added something special to our vacation. She was extremely professional while still making us feel like we were there to HAVE FUN! There were so many wonderful staff members who made our trip memorable, and we definitely want to recognize our favorites: ❤️ Sammy & Vicente – Bartenders at the Preferred Lounge Bar by the pool. We absolutely loved them! ❤️ Lawrence & Angel – Servers at the main activity pool who took great care of us. ❤️ Colon & Daniela – Lazy River Preferred Bar. More of our favorites! ❤️ Wilmer – Preferred Lounge in the lobby. Amazing service! ❤️ Julio – Preferred Bar near the lounge. He was an amazing bartender and helped start our entire week of fun! ❤️ Romancito – We saw him at the breakfast buffet and French restaurant, and he quickly became another favorite. ❤️ Amaurys – Concierge. Awesome and so helpful! Our room was near the waterfall of the Preferred Lazy River, and the view was beautiful. The room and resort facilities were consistently clean, and we loved the entire Preferred Club area. The food was good, and one thing I REALLY appreciated was having non-pork breakfast meat options! This has been something we haven’t always found at all-inclusive resorts in the past, so it was great to have more choices. Between the beautiful resort, great food, Preferred Club experience, and—most importantly—the incredible people who took care of us, this was easily a 10/10 trip. We will absolutely be back to visit all of our amigos and have another great time! ❤️🌴🥂 Thank you, Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana, Super D, Sammy, Vicente, Lawrence, Angel, Colon, Daniela, Wilmer, Julio, Romancito, Amaurys, and everyone else who made my sister’s birthday trip such an amazing week! 🇩🇴❤️
Everything was amazing!!! The service it’s unbelievable. You share the Dominican experience since you step in the hotel employees are very friendly and I haven’t dance like that in years. We were so happy we had a blast. The drinks at the bar 10/10 Miguel and Ari 🙌
Overall had a great time at Secrets Royal Beach. The staff were attentive and super friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again. Being the time of year it was the beach and ocean were filled with seaweed which was a big let down and didn’t get a chance to enjoy the beach. The rooms were nice, a little out dated but they did the job. Bathroom was great, didn’t really care for the glass doors but it’s whatever. Would definitely stay at Secrets Royal beach again!
Our stay at Secrets Royal Beach was truly unforgettable, and so much of that is because of the incredible people who went above and beyond to make our vacation special. We loved our time at the resort. The people, entertainment, drinks, food, and atmosphere made this vacation incredibly special, and we left with so many amazing memories.
This location was stunning, Hotel and Surrounding areas were very maintained; Food was delicious; Pool and Beach very well maintained; Wonderful entertainment at night; Top Shelf alcohol; the rooms and amenities were amazing and the Spa was awesome!
they could not fit in a pedicure over our 4 day stay after trying to book it the first morning we were there. Room service was incorrect and slow. Butler service is lack luster.
Súper elegante la atención también todos son súper amables ❤️🥰🥰
Julio was amazing, wonderful pools , clean and relaxing. Some food places were really great , others missed the mark. Main bar advertised top self liquor on the shelf, but will not let you have it.
My overall experience at Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana was extremely disappointing and fell far below the expectations I had for a World of Hyatt property. I chose this resort expecting a luxury, all-inclusive experience with excellent hospitality, attentive service, and consistent attention to guests. Unfortunately, my stay did not reflect those expectations, and I left feeling that the experience was not worth what I paid. One of my biggest concerns was the housekeeping and room service. I had to contact the resort multiple times requesting that my room be cleaned and that fresh towels be provided. My minibar was also repeatedly left unstocked, despite this being part of the all-inclusive experience. Basic items and services that should have been routinely handled required repeated requests from me, which became frustrating and took away from my ability to simply relax and enjoy my vacation. I was also disappointed with how I felt I was treated as a solo traveler. There appeared to be significantly more attention given to couples and groups, while I often felt overlooked. A guest should receive the same level of hospitality and attentiveness regardless of whether they are traveling alone, as a couple, or with a group. I paid to experience the same resort amenities and level of service as every other guest, and I expected to feel equally welcomed and valued. The food and beverage experience was inconsistent as well. Although I encountered a few employees who were genuinely kind and helpful, the overall level of service did not meet the standard I associate with Secrets or World of Hyatt. Service could be slow or inattentive, and the continued failure to keep my minibar stocked added to my frustration. Unfortunately, the positive interactions I had with a few staff members were not enough to overcome the larger service issues throughout my stay. Overall, this was not the experience I expected from Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana or from a resort associated with World of Hyatt. Better communication, consistent housekeeping, proper minibar service, more responsive staff, and equal attention toward solo travelers would have made a major difference. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve the experience for future guests. Based on this stay, however, I would be very hesitant to return to Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana or recommend it to other solo travelers.
Great time. Beds were not great and a little run down. Also was kind of disappointed in the upgrade they tried to sell...should be all included at an all inclusive. Beach had so much seaweed we didn't get in. But nice place. Great staff.
Overall, my experience at Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana was absolutely amazing. The resort was beautiful, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the staff made my stay truly memorable. However, there were several employees who went above and beyond and deserve special recognition for the exceptional service they provided. Aron – Our Butler I would especially like to recognize Aron, our butler, who was truly the best part of our experience. Aron provided us with an amazing experience from beginning to end. He was incredibly attentive, informative, professional, and, most importantly, genuine. His service was honestly some of the best service I have received in a very long time. Aron consistently made sure that we were comfortable, informed, and enjoying every part of our stay. He anticipated our needs, paid attention to the smallest details, and always made us feel like our experience genuinely mattered to him. Aron is truly the definition of an exceptional hospitality professional and an outstanding customer-service host. His dedication and genuine personality made a tremendous difference in our vacation. He represents the level of service that makes guests want to return to a resort. Sebastian, Obispo & Sammy – Preferred Club / Drifters & Lazy River Pool Bars I would also like to recognize Sebastian, Obispo, and Sammy, who provided exceptional service at the Preferred Club pool bar, Drifters Bar, and Lazy River Pool Bar. Sebastian has an incredible personality and charisma that immediately makes you feel welcome. He is extremely attentive and intentional with the service he provides. His energy and positive attitude make you want to spend the entire day at the bar simply because of the atmosphere he creates. Obispo and Sebastian work incredibly well together. They make an amazing team, and their energy is contagious. They have a natural ability to make guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and happy. Their positive energy spreads throughout the area and creates an environment where everyone can relax, enjoy themselves, and feel taken care of. I also want to recognize Sammy for his excellent service and for contributing to the welcoming atmosphere at the pool bars. The team truly made those areas one of the most enjoyable parts of our stay. Juan – Ocean Restaurant & Japanese Restaurant Another employee who deserves special recognition is Juan, our waiter at the Ocean Restaurant and later at the Himitsu restaurant in the evenings. Juan made me feel truly special because he remembered my food order and, even more impressively, remembered what I liked and what I did not like on my plate. He used that information to make my meals feel personalized and exactly the way I wanted them. Juan went out of his way to maximize my dining experience. He paid attention to details that many people would overlook, and that level of personalization made a huge difference. His ability to remember my preferences and make recommendations based on what I enjoyed showed that he genuinely cared about my experience. Juan is exceptional at what he does, and his service was one of the highlights of my stay. Final Thoughts These employees are a true reflection of what exceptional hospitality should look like. Aron, Sebastian, Obispo, Sammy, and Juan each created memorable moments in different ways, but they all had one thing in common: they made me feel valued as a guest. Their attentiveness, personality, genuine care, and attention to detail elevated my entire vacation. Employees like these are what create loyal guests and make people want to return to the same resort. I sincerely hope management recognizes these individuals for their outstanding service. They deserve to know that their hard work did not go unnoticed and that they made a meaningful difference in my vacation. Thank you to the entire Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana team for an incredible stay. I look forward to returning and experiencing the exceptional hospitality that made this trip so special.
Most of their employees were nice and food was good
Room service is inexistent. We tried at least 4 times and couldn't get ahold of anyone. Drinks are awful and I'm being nice.
No geral, recomendo o resort.
We had a wonderful overall experience at the resort, and a large part of that was because of the exceptional service we received from Lady and Reuben. Lady was truly one of the standout employees during our stay. She provided some of the best poolside service we have experienced. She was incredibly hardworking, attentive, friendly, and professional. Despite being busy, she consistently checked on us, anticipated what we needed, and made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Her positive attitude and dedication were very noticeable, and she genuinely went above and beyond to make our pool experience enjoyable. Reuben was equally outstanding while serving us at the beach. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout our time there. His excellent customer service and genuine hospitality made our beach days even more enjoyable. Both Lady and Reuben deserve recognition for the effort they put into creating a great experience for guests. The hotel itself was very well kept. The grounds and common areas were maintained nicely, and overall the property was pleasant and inviting. We also really enjoyed the entertainment. The karaoke was a lot of fun, and the nighttime shows were enjoyable and gave us something entertaining to look forward to in the evenings. The food, unfortunately, was more inconsistent. While there were some enjoyable meals, there were also times when the food was disappointing and didn’t meet the expectations we had for the resort. This was probably one of the weaker aspects of our stay. Another challenge was the amount of sargassum along the beach. There was a significant amount, and at times it was rather difficult to get past or enjoy the water. We understand that this is largely dependent on natural conditions and isn’t necessarily something the resort can control, but it did impact our beach experience. Overall, we had a good stay and especially appreciated the hardworking staff who made us feel welcomed and taken care of. Lady and Reuben were exceptional and truly stood out for their service. With more consistency in the food and better beach conditions, the experience could have been even better. We would definitely recommend recognizing employees like Lady and Reuben, as their outstanding hospitality made a meaningful difference in our stay.
Everything was great no complaints would def visit again! Very hill romantic vibe with your partner & had perfect amount of entertainment and relaxation
Overall Great Experience!! Great food, drinks and clean area and rooms. Staff members were great and friendly. Our Butler Yafreisy and Bartender Julio were outstanding and very attentive to our needs..Pool server, Celenia was humorous and entertaining. And the Mexican restaurant bus persons, Manuel Paula and Yamelky..we're tremendously awesome..
Rooms are ok Drinks are bad The TV didn't work (no sound) we are tech savvy so no it wasn't on us.. we tried everything There is no room service so staying at your room and rest is not an option You shouldn't over sleep because after 10:20ish you won't be able to have breakfast unless you pay for the upgrade we didn't need because we wanted to rest In general service is nice and food is very good but we wanted to sleep a lot and have some average drinks. It was a late minute trip for us to have some rest before school started and I regret wasting our last weekend before school there
I can’t put in words how amazing this trip was! From the moment we set foot and met our amazing Butler Alfredo, till the moment we checked out and said bye to Santos in Amstar! Loved alllllll our bartender.. Argenis, obispal in the VIP area with ALLL the Mamajuanas LOL to Junior and Margarita in our private pool! Special thank you to Anival in the sports bar! My Brother from another mother! El Tigre de los Tigre! Bendiciones ah todos!! We already booked for next vacation here! Thanks to Amado!
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Secrets Royal Beach! The food was delicious, with plenty of variety, and the resort itself is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. We highly recommend choosing the Preferred Club, as we felt it was definitely worth it. Having access to additional amenities, the Preferred Club pool, entertainment options, and especially the personalized butler service really enhanced our stay. The staff was truly above and beyond throughout our entire visit. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Our butler, Yafreisy, deserves a special mention for going above and beyond to make our honeymoon so special. Her attention to detail and exceptional service made us feel incredibly well taken care of. Overall, Secrets Royal Beach provided us with a beautiful, relaxing, and memorable honeymoon experience. We loved our stay and would absolutely recommend the resort, especially the Preferred Club, to anyone looking for an unforgettable vacation!
El bar de la playa, las personas eran muy Buena Gentes.
La limpieza de Las habitaciones es muy mala y la comida esta Al mismo Nivel, Todo muy mejorable.
The resort is amazing, for the preferred club guests there are many options you can enjoy, there are multiple activities during the day, so you will never feel boring. The food and night shows are great, 100% recommended.
EVERYTHING and EVERYONE was amazing the food the rooms were sensational. But the staff is what really made us feel at home❤️ we love you guys
We stayed for 10 days as a family and overall had a great experience. The resort was beautiful, the food was good, and the majority of the staff were wonderful. We especially loved Juan, Anthony, and Jose at the beach bar, as well as the Lady working at the pool. Denisse and Neli at the coffee shop were also amazing and always made our visits enjoyable. Considering we were there for 10 days, we were impressed with the restaurant service. We only had to wait once for dinner, and it was only about 15–20 minutes. We also made a reservation for hibachi, but there was a mix-up and they weren’t able to seat us at the hibachi table. The staff handled the situation extremely well, apologized, and provided great service despite the mistake. There were two things that negatively affected our experience. During VIP check-in, the representative was extremely persistent about getting us to attend the breakfast/presentation about their hotels. We politely declined several times, but he continued pushing and even tried to make us feel guilty by saying that if guests didn’t participate, he could lose his job. It made what should have been a welcoming check-in experience uncomfortable. The most disappointing situation involved a staff member who went by “Chocolate.” My sister’s $80 glasses were taken and never returned. We reported the situation to several staff members and were repeatedly told that something would be done, but unfortunately nothing was resolved. Chocolate later apologized to my sister, but she still never received her glasses back. We expected management to take the situation more seriously and follow through. Despite those issues, we genuinely enjoyed our 10-day stay and met so many wonderful staff members who made our vacation special. With better handling of situations like these and less pressure during VIP check-in, the experience would have been even better.
The room smelled moldy -not enough towels every day when I requested extra upon check in
We have been to Secrets Resorts in multiple locations over 10 times. This Royal Beach Punta Cana location probably had the least amount of staff available at the pool and for concierge purposes. However, the staff that was available was responsive and courteous, and we enjoyed the activities. The spa did not have a relaxation room, which was a big disappointment to me.
Todo es muy bueno no hay queja de nada
We had a beautiful stay here. We opted to upgrade and stayed preferred in a master suite facing the ocean with a hot tub on the balcony. Getting the upgrade was a great decision. We would sit in the hot tub and take in the view, or get room service and eat on the table outside looking at the water. The balcony and hot tub were worth the extra money spent. The staff here is so attentive and they strive to make guest happy. We loved Oceana, the sushi, and the Mexican restaurant the best, also loved the frozen drinks and mojitos! The room service was good - short rib was hands down my favorite! So so good! We never went without, the staff is very attentive. The spa area was pretty and the couples massage was a highlight of the trip. We came for a week because I needed a little R&R and it was my 40th bday. I’m glad I picked this resort. We will be back for sure.
We've visited Secrets in MX (Akumal 1x, Meroma Beach 2x, Playa Blanca 1x), so this review is sort of a comparison to those. We've also been to the Valentin and Excellence Riviera Cancun (both very nice, love the Ocean Front room in the club area at the Excellence). We wanted to experience a different vacation destination, fell in love with Secrets in the past due to the high food and customer service levels. This location had the architectural style and decor I prefer, was close to the airport, had good reviews so that's why we picked this resort. Unfortunately, and I realize this is very harsh, but Royal Beach does not live up to the quality of Secrets we've experienced in the past (and expected) The exterior and interior of the buildings show some wear and age, though I could look beyond that. The grounds are beautiful. I enjoyed having most restaurants/theater/bars located in one area and was surprised how breezy and tolerable (from a temperature standpoint) the openair theater area was. After bypassing the front greeters/bellhops, I got an immediate taste of poor customer service. My husband and I have a routine where one of us checks in and the other fetches a drink at the lobby bar. I approached, stood at the bar, had to wait a while for staff to cease their conversation, still waited for eye contact, did not get a greeting until after I initiated one. This seemed to be the standard among most interactions. We're used to EVERY member of staff making eye contact and providing a greeting before we even have a chance to initiate it. I felt as if I was a burden to staff-like the waitress slowly wandering the theater area (long before the show with about 6 couples out there) and couldn't bother to come ask if we needed anything, groups of bartenders in the theater talking amongst themselves until you asked for a drink and then there was never any hurry to make it, wait staff standing around and not observant to when plates should be cleared after an appetizer, water filled, etc. I was surprised how often staff might see you coming but then cross paths in front of you without a greeting much less an apology. So many of the staff have such solemn/serious facial expressions that just made me feel unwelcome. We weren't sure if this is because of an ultra relaxed island vibe/culture or training or both. The variety and quality of food was our biggest disappointment. Much of the meats were very overcooked, apps and meals served cold, most items either lacked flavor or were more basic than I cook at home. The Barefoot grill only served hamburgers and hot dogs-every day, so you had to go to the buffet for any variety (which was refreshing to get some AC). Himitsu was the only ala carte restaurant that served us hot food. Download the Hyatt app and check out the restaurant menus as a reference, and you can even compare the different resorts' menus. I really had hoped that there would be more food options/variety when we were on site. If you want dessert, though, head to the buffet at lunch and dinner times to find all their options plus ice cream! The evening shows are good. Wish there was another relaxing entertainment option as the evening wound down-other Secrets have a singer or small ensemble in the lobby or bar area where you can chill and have some cocktails in the evening. Overall, Royal Beach seems to have a younger, more active group of guests, getting involved in the livelier beach games and activities, DJ music and dancing (compared to the MX Secrets we've been too). As a side note, we always tip the staff. I feel if we are blessed enough to afford such a trip then we can also share the love with others. These are the stand out staff from our stay: Daniel at the Barefoot Grill and then at the front lobby/bellman area when we left. Such a kind, loving person-he said he's training for a new position in the lobby. I wish him all the best-he's going to be a great first impression for the resort. Jaun B, the bartender at the Bar Marlin took great care of my husband and helped him learn all too much about rum! His partners Ruben, Jose V and Anthony kept us well hydrated on the beach. Franklin Benjamin (they're pretty creative with names on their nametags!) in the small bar in the corner of the theater area. He was very receptive, attentive, would create a different drink when you couldn't decide, would go out and bus nearby tables when not with customers. He's obviously a hard worker, takes his job serious and is good at his craft. Negro Perla (yeah, another creative name) from activities-it was fun to talk DR baseball with him Overall, John and I are happy that we were able to experience a different country and its people. We'll be headed back to MX next time though.
If you are looking for something to do while staying at Secrets Royal Beach, look no further than the Tennis and Pickleball Courts. This is for players of all levels and any number of players. Francis, the Tennis pro, will be happy to jump in if you need one more player or just someone to hit with. He is very talented and is always willing to play at any level or give lessons to anyone who books. Not to mention the courts are beautiful clay courts that are very well maintained.
My experience with Secrets Royal Beach was phenomenal. The ambiance of the environment makes the experience feel luxurious, but it is truly the people who work there who make it feel like home. I was sad when it was time to leave, but I will always reflect fondly on my time at Secrets Royal Beach!
If you are looking for a safe and relaxing solo getaway, this all-inclusive resort is absolutely perfect. I stayed in the superior king room with a private pool, which completely elevated my trip. The pool was meticulously cleaned every morning, and the water temperature was always just right. Between the well-stocked mini-bar and the exceptional butler service that added a personalized touch, everything felt so special. This is definitely a must-visit when traveling to Punta Cana!
Disappointing Experience Traveling Without Men — I Would Not Recommend This Resort for a Girls’ or Solo Trip My husband and I stayed at Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana in March 2024, and we had a fabulous experience. We booked the Preferred Experience, and everything about our stay was wonderful. The facilities were clean, the entertainment was amazing, and the staff was professional and respectful. We had such a great time that when my two younger sisters and I started planning a sister trip to celebrate my youngest sister’s graduation, I immediately suggested Secrets Royal Beach. I told them we should stay as Preferred guests again because our previous experience had been so incredible that the resort had set the bar very high. I didn’t want to risk going somewhere else and being disappointed. Unfortunately, our experience this time was completely different. We stayed from Friday, August 7 through Monday, August 10, and I was shocked by how differently my sisters and I were treated as three women traveling without men. Saturday Night — Hibachi Restaurant On Saturday, my sisters and I went on a snorkeling excursion through Amstar that lasted approximately five hours. When we returned, our butler told us she had made reservations for us at the hibachi restaurant. We arrived around 6:45 p.m., and the chef did a wonderful job cooking and entertaining us. Unfortunately, our waiter, Fernando, made the experience extremely uncomfortable. Throughout dinner, he repeatedly flirted with my sister and me. He told us that he wasn't working the following night and invited us to go to the club with him. He said he wanted to take us dancing and that we would have a lot of fun. I told him clearly that we were not leaving the resort. I even pointed to my wedding rings to make it clear that I was married. He then told us that he would be working at the buffet the following day and encouraged us to come see him there. He continued flirting with us throughout dinner despite our lack of interest. We were so uncomfortable that we intentionally avoided the buffet the following day so we wouldn't have to interact with him. Saturday Night — Entertainment Staff and “My Baby” After hibachi, my sisters and I were having cocktails in the lobby near the entertainment stage. We asked an entertainment staff member to take a photo of the three of us. My younger sister handed him her phone, and instead of simply taking the photo, he and his coworkers began taking selfies of themselves on her phone (we did not know they were taking selfies at the time). When I thanked him and looked at his name tag, it said “My Baby.” I told him that I thought it was inappropriate and that I was not going to call him that. I asked for his real name, but he refused to tell me. I even asked whether his supervisor actually called him that, and he brushed off the question. He then invited us to the club where he and his coworkers would be working after the show. We said we would check it out. When we eventually went to the club, my sisters and I were simply trying to enjoy ourselves and dance together. Instead, “My Baby” and several of his coworkers repeatedly stared at us and attempted to dance with us in ways that made us uncomfortable. We ultimately left the club because we did not feel comfortable being around them. We also had employees suggest that we hang out with them after the club wherever they lived. We clearly told them we were not interested. Sunday — Invasion of Privacy The next morning, my sister realized something even more concerning. While “My Baby” had been using her phone to take our photo, he had gone onto her Instagram account and followed his own Instagram account from her profile without asking or telling any of us. His Instagram handle was @jp.franco01. Once we discovered what had happened, we immediately blocked him. Regardless of whether his intention was harmless or not, accessing a guest's social media account and following your personal account from their phone without permission is a serious invasion of privacy and completely inappropriate behavior for a resort employee. At that point, my sisters and I decided we did not want to return to the club that evening. Sunday Night — Retro Night That evening was retro night, and we sat toward the back of the venue. We saw “My Baby” flirtatiously interacting with a female guest whom we had met the previous night. She had told us that she was single. He noticed us from across the venue and came over to say hello. Instead of simply speaking to us, he rubbed each of our arms and shoulders. I immediately flinched away and tried to make it clear that I did not want him touching me or interacting with me. Afterward, he returned to the other single female guest. Following the retro show, the entertainment team announced that they were bringing the club downstairs and turning the pavilion into a dance party. When the dance floor opened, we saw “My Baby” take the same female guest onto the dance floor. He put his arms around her waist, and they began dancing in a way that I personally found inappropriate for an employee interacting with a resort guest. At this point, my sisters and I were so uncomfortable with the entertainment staff that we left the pavilion and went back to our room. We no longer felt comfortable participating in the resort's nightlife. Monday Morning — Preferred Yoga Class Monday morning, I saw that there was a 9:00 a.m. yoga class specifically for Preferred guests. I took one of my younger sisters because I had attended a yoga class at Secrets in 2024 with my husband and had absolutely loved it. I told my sister she would enjoy it as well. Unfortunately, this was another uncomfortable experience. The class lasted approximately 35 minutes and consisted of a female instructor and three female guests: my sister, myself, and another woman. About halfway through the class, a male staff member wearing sunglasses repeatedly walked around the area and appeared to be looking at us. He then took a side table, placed it directly next to my yoga mat, sat down, and continued staring at my sister and me for approximately 12 minutes of the class. I was extremely uncomfortable and honestly furious. Yoga should have been one of the places at the resort where I could relax and feel comfortable. Instead, I found myself wondering how I was supposed to do poses like downward dog or child's pose while a male employee was sitting directly beside my mat staring at me. For comparison, there was another yoga class being led by a male instructor on the beach at 9:30 a.m. with both men and women participating. I did not observe male entertainment employees behaving this way around that class. After our yoga class, my sister and I met up with my other sister on the beach. She told us that another male entertainment employee had approached her, told her she was beautiful, and asked whether she was married. She is 22 years old and single, but by this point she was so tired of being approached by male employees that she simply told him she was married to get him to leave her alone. Overall Experience I am not sharing this review for sympathy. I am sharing it because I want other women to know about our experience, particularly women considering a girls' trip or solo vacation. My husband and I had an incredible experience at Secrets Royal Beach in 2024, which is exactly why I felt comfortable recommending the resort to my sisters. Unfortunately, traveling there as three women without men was an entirely different experience. We experienced unwanted flirting, repeated invitations from employees to spend time with them outside of the resort, unwanted physical contact, inappropriate attention, and what I believe was an unacceptable invasion of privacy when an employee accessed my sister's Instagram account without permission. What was especially disappointing was that we were spending thousands of dollars on what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation, yet we repeatedly found ourselves changing our plans, avoiding certain restaurants and areas, leaving entertainment venues early, and ultimately staying in our room because we did not feel comfortable around certain employees. My sisters and I are fortunate that we look out for one another and have each other's backs. But I kept thinking about women traveling alone or women who may not feel comfortable speaking up when an employee crosses a boundary. A resort should be a place where every guest—regardless of whether they are traveling with a husband, boyfriend, friends, or alone—feels safe, respected, and comfortable. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend Secrets Royal Beach for a girls' trip or solo female travelers. The contrast between our 2024 experience and this trip was incredibly disappointing. Secrets Royal Beach had previously set the bar extremely high for us, which makes this experience even more upsetting. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and addresses the behavior of its entertainment staff so that future female guests do not have to experience what we did. My husband has been dying to go back to Secrets Royal Beach ever since our amazing experience there in 2024. In fact, I was the one who originally suggested returning for this sister trip because I had loved the resort so much. Unfortunately, after everything that happened during this trip, I will not be returning to Secrets Royal Beach again. When I told my husband everything that had happened, he was extremely disappointed, frustrated, and honestly beside himself. He couldn't believe that a resort we had previously loved so much had become an experience where I felt uncomfortable and harassed simply because I was traveling without him. It is incredibly disappointing to know that I went from being excited to return to a resort that had previously set the bar so high to now knowing that I would not feel comfortable going back. I will be looking into visiting other Secrets resorts in the future, and I sincerely hope that my next experience with the Secrets brand is much better.
This a very nice resort. The service was great. Most of the staff was amazing. lobby was clean. Our room was clean and room service was always available. The pool closed a little earlier than we would have liked but it was still an amazing experience.
I cannot say enough great things about this place. CEASER is the absolute best butler, his hospitality is unmatched. We’ve been to a few all inclusive reports but none will top this one. The service is something out of a book, it’s so hard to beat. Your needs are constantly being anticipated and everything you could want, there’s a way to get it. Ceaser our butler made our trip over the top. He set up a birthday surprise for me in our room, and checked on us everyday to make sure every aspect of the trip was going smoothly.
Myself and my husband spent 14 nights and had an amazing time. From the moment we checked in the staff could not have made us feel more welcome. We didn't have the Preferred Club but it made no difference whatsoever. Room-We were on the 1st floor, room 1335 (see pics). Ideally situated between pool, beach and main lobby. Robes and slippers, king size bed which was very comfortable. Room was spacious and had seating area. Mini bar, coffee-maker, safe, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and lots of toiletries. Restaurants-The restaurants were excellent, and not having to pre-book was great. The only restaurant you have to book is the Japanese Teppanyaki. The French Bordeaux and Japanese were our favourites. We also recommend having breakfast next door at Dreams Royal Beach as they have a restaurant you can sit outside at with beach view. Entertainment-The shows were varied but top quality. The nightclub had great DJs and got busy but not unbearable. The show bar was entertaining and bartenders were fun. The staff waiting on tables in the theatre area really look after you. Shoutout to Steff Stephano-see pic who we became good friends with. Brilliant customer service. Pools-There is a large main pool with swim-up bar and lots of activities, and quieter pool. We preferred the beach as it was too hot by the pools. They kept the pools spotless and always plenty of loungers. Towels are provided on beach and pool and you do not have a towel card so are not charged if you misplace one. Beach-There are dance lessons and yoga every morning, and beach games in the afternoon. But the beach is long so there are lots of places that are quiet if you do not want this. Seaweed is something they try and keep on top of by clearing it every morning. It didn't prevent us from going in and when you walk in about 5 metres from shoreline it was clear. All the loungers had their own straw parasol so plenty of shade if needed. There was always a sea breeze which we loved so this was the best place to sunbathe. Temp was mid to high 30s when we were there. It only rained in middle of night, we had no raing during the day. The guys at the beach bar were brilliant and were friendly and fun. Shoutout to Ruben who kept us refreshed on our loungers. Every single member of staff was friendly and helpful. Having been many times to the Dominican Republic I have to say the service at Secrets is probably the best out of the other 11 resorts we have stayed at. Please message me if you have any questions but I definitely recommend this resort. We will be returning next year.
Had a wonderful stay at Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana. The resort is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the beach was gorgeous. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and there was a great choice of food and drinks. A lovely place to unwind and enjoy a few relaxing days in Punta Cana!
Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana is a resort that will certainly give you your monies worth. We stayed in the preferred club level and it made all the difference in the world compared to other resorts that we have visited. Personal check in with VIP vibes. Tour of facility, introductions to staff and ideas on how to have the best vacation while there. The food was excellent, the drinks were delicious, staff was the friendliest I have ever experienced. Our Butler Ramses made the entire trip with me for the ages. We had a 10 person party and he went over and beyond for each of us. Talk about being made the center of attention!! The level of service and care was overwhelming and to beg honest, a lot to take in when your not used to that lifestyle. It will be tough for any resort to replicate what we just experienced! Thank you Secrets Royal Beach for an unforgettable trip and memories to last a lifetime!
An amazing resort with excellent staff. The staff is polite and caring and responsive. The pools and beach are beautiful. The entire preferred experience is a must. They will take care of you like family and treat you like you’re the only person there.
Our butler Ismael promised us an amazing trip. He never mentioned Rudy at the Main Pool being on top of all our pool needs. Or Wilamena making killer omelettes in what seemed like 2-3 minutes. You never mentioned that Felix at the romantic lazy river Bar would take care of our every need…or that Obisbo at the preferred bar would wipe us down like old friends every time he saw us. We had a great time. Ismael is still texting us even though we have been home for 48 hours. Love it.
I would recommend Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana to anyone! Being our first time at an all-inclusive, my husband and I weren't sure what to expect. We had researched so, so many resorts and felt confident with Secrets Royal Beach, but it completely exceeded our expectations. Upgrading to the Preferred Club was definitely worthwhile. We checked in at a separate lounge, had an employee (Super D) personally assist us each day, and the Preferred pools were beyond lovely. Our honeymoon here was easy, relaxing, and restful, which is exactly what we'd hoped for!
Great layout, large pools. In this location, the preferred option is definitely worth going for.
The staff was much less attentive and less forthcoming than at another location we once stayed at. Still a high standard of course but it was a noticeable difference. (It included staff frequently on their phones and once even taking selfies during work).
Fantastic tropical vacation with great amenities and an amazing staff who provided exceptional service with a smile and enthusiasm.
The property was clean and mostly welcoming, and our large group enjoyed a wonderful vacation experience for a special occasion. However, extending the evening pool hours would greatly enhance the adult resort atmosphere. Overall, it is a fantastic destination.
Always a great experience at Secrets Royal Beach. The property is gorgeous, the food, the service and the drinks are great!!
The Secrets Resort and Spa facility (Hyatt) over exceeded my expectations in every way. I will come back as a Preferred member next time.
Had a great time. Was in a preferred room with s hot tub and it was perfect. Christopher our personal concierge was excellent. Food was good and the alcohol bottomless. I wish more restaurants were open for lunch
Place is beautiful
We went for vacation not to try to buy a timeshares. Once they finish presentation a cuban guy was not to happy and act kind rude at the end. I know they are not part of the hotel staff but everything besides that 10 of 10.
Overall great! Highly recommend preferred club here. The pools are so much nicer. The food was great! I've been to other Secrets and this one was by far the best. Rooms were fine, nothing stand out, but it was a great time. Fanny, Obispo, Vicente, Rosa, Daniela, and Felix were all absolutley amazing at the pool and lazy river bars. Our butler, Alfredo was outstanding!! Staff here is great! Side note: They have really odd rules about the cabanas in the preferred club. There is a sign that says no reserving, but everyone does. So we followed. The first few days were no problem. Then, all of the sudden our stuff got taken and put in the lobby, yet there were still other people with stuff at the cabanas that didn't get taken. Very frustrating that they semi-enforce the rules and then some people luck out and some get screwed. That was frustrating for us. So, do better with the rules. Either enforce them or don't.
I'm not sure where to start this review. Secrets Royal was the place we chose to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and it was our first time experiencing an all-inclusive resort. From the moment we arrived, we immediately got that "royal" feeling. Everyone was attentive to our luggage and made sure our needs were taken care of right away. The check-in process was quick and smooth. We really liked our room. For my husband and me, the space was more than enough. The bed was very comfortable, and the room included a mini-fridge stocked with bottled water, local beer, and soft drinks, which was replenished daily. We also want to give a special shout-out to so many wonderful people we met during our stay: Amaurys (Front Desk), Ramoncito and Irene (Breakfast Buffet), Luigi (Mexican Restaurant), Joan (French Restaurant), and Nathaniel and Angel (Pool Bar). Every one of them was incredibly kind, generous with their time, and always happy to help, serve, or simply have a friendly conversation with us. Thank you for showing us just how warm and welcoming the Dominican people can be. We were also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the nightly entertainment. Every performance was absolutely amazing. We did not expect such talented dancers and singers or the incredible energy they brought to every show. Having a different performance each night gave us something to look forward to after dinner and made us want to stay on the property every evening. The restaurants were another highlight of our trip. Every dinner felt like a fine dining experience. We especially loved the French restaurant. The ambiance, the quality of the food, and the beautiful presentation of every dish made each meal memorable. The pool was enormous and always a fun place to relax. People were clearly enjoying themselves, but without the excessive noise that you often find at resort pools. Overall, everyone seemed respectful of each other's space. Spa day was our favorite day! Our biggest disappointment was the beach. I know seaweed is out of control in this area, but I did not expect it to be so bad. We took a couple of excursions out of the hotel: one to Saona Island and one to the Adventure Park. We did cenotes, buggies, and horse riding at the last one. These two seemed to give us the water/beach experience we missed at the hotel. We also took a boat to a natural pool near the hotel and we were able to do snorkeling, see the dolphins and drive the boat. This was super fun!
We had wonderful stay at Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana. The resort is beautiful, with well-kept grounds and a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive, which made the trip even better. The nightly shows were fun and entertaining, definitely a highlight. The only downside was the sargassum seaweed, which made it impossible to swim in the ocean during our stay. That was frustrating, but obviously not something the resort controls. The main pool was beautiful and offered plenty of lounge chairs for guests to relax in. Overall, we’d still recommend it, especially for the beautiful property, great service, and evening entertainment. Just keep an eye on current beach conditions if swimming is a priority.
The preferred club experience was absolutely amazing! Super D made the entire experience incredible! She is so accommodating and made every request seem effortless! We felt like VIP’s!!! The preferred club swimming area with Fanny Lu made everyone feel like family and loved! Fanny Lu gave us the feeling like we were in our own private pool! The bartenders at the preferred club pool were hilarious, entertaining and made everyone feel like we were home! Outstanding!!!!
From the start meeting Lilluy at the entrance, Reyes at check in, Luvell in the buffet area, Alex, Melvin, Geryson, josefina just to name a few at the pool bar made this trip worthwhile.
We booked 7 rooms for our 25th anniversary. Not a single person complained. We enjoyed every minute. There was something for each couples personality. The restaurants were very accommodating and most of the time we were seated together. We had a great time.
Warning, long post alert. This review is simply a comparison of this resort to others that we have been to and represents my wife & I’s opinions. We flew frontier to DR. We have flown Frontier to every Secrets we have been to. This one will be the last. I have never been on a Frontier flight that has been on time. Several hours delayed each way essentially results in a vacation day lost. We used Amstar for transportation to and from the resort. It has generally not been an issue. It was this time. The Amstar reps were extremely disorganized and an excessive amount of time was spent standing around with nobody seeming to know what’s what. Having used private transfer on our last trip, it is absolutely worth the upgrade and will be our only choice going forward. The resort itself is immaculate and beautiful. Check in was smooth. We stayed in a junior suite king bed tropical. Room: Pros: spacious, clean, comfortable. Cons: 1: No pass through port in the wall for room service. May sound trivial, but it is a signature Secrets “thing” that we absolutely love and we were disappointed it wasn’t there. 2: Our fridge was never re-stocked a single day we were there. We did eventually get more when we called to ask for it. All previous Secrets experiences, not only did they re-stock, they paid attention to the empties in the trash and went heavy on what you liked. 3: Room accessories. We never received the Secrets signature bag, or any pillow chocolate. Those items are trivial and not necessary to us, but I wanted to point out the inconsistencies as our friends got a bag and pillow chocolate every day. Again, we didn’t care, just pointing it out. 4: Our room was next to a service cart path. The evenings consisted of roaming golf carts pulling clanking trailers and rattling dishes. Every night, all night. Ear plugs were the solution but should not be necessary. 5: Bed. Comfortable but wobbly. Clanked against the headboard with the slight movement of any kind. Had to manually pull it from the wall every night. The pillows were trash. 6: Ceiling fan. Amazing air flow. Really bad squeak rendering it unusable without the ear plugs. 7: Thermostat. Locked on 21 degrees Celsius (70f). Cannot be turned up or down. Being someone familiar with mini splits, I do not believe it was ever 70 degrees. Closer to 73-74. 8: Ran out of toilet paper without a re-stock more than once The food: The food was just ok other than one exception. The hibachi. That restaurant was off the hook. The other restaurants were fair, but they did not hit the flavor and overall amazingness that we have come to know and love at Akumal or Playa Blanca. The buffet is visually appealing, the overall experience was underwhelming. We did find the earlier you go, the better it is. They have poolside buffets. I would highly recommend you stay away from them unless you enjoy 2am vomiting and diarrhea. Many items are undercooked or not held at the correct temps (both cold & hot). The burgers at barefoot grill are substantially pink in the middle. All 6 people in my group experienced severe bouts of diarrhea/stomach cramps throughout the week. Pools/Beaches: The main pool is large. The water is as warm as bath water. It was always busy, but never crowded. Restrooms were sparse and I rarely saw anyone getting out to pee. Not to say they didn’t, but it doesn’t take long before you start to wonder Pool service was minimal. The service folks worked their butts off but seemed severely understaffed. Our group tips well per drink round, but we frequently got our own.. The drinks were extremely inconsistent. Some bartenders eyeballed it, others measured. The measured drinks were fantastic. It got to the point we could tell who was working which day by the quality of the mixology. The beach was pristine as usual. The ocean was not accessible in our opinion, and that was nobody’s fault. The peddlers (salesmen) are thick on the beach. We were solicited about every 5 minutes. The casino: it is small but enjoyable. The machines are completely rigged. The card games are ok but due to language barriers, there seems to be different interpretations of the rules. If you go there hoping to win money, you went to the wrong spot. Treat is strictly as entertainment. The evening shows: without question, The Greatest Showman and the Queen tribute are the two best of the weekly lineup. They are all good, those two are great. Resort entertainment has come a long way in the last 10 years. Try to grab a seat in front of the palm trees half way to the stage. If you sit anywhere behind those, the excessive foot traffic will interrupt your enjoyment. We did the cigar/rum/chocolate tour. It was surprisingly good. There are no strings attached, but they’re hoping you will buy something. I caved pretty quick to the dark chocolate and the caramel rum. They got my wife for a bag of coffee so mission accomplished for them. Totally worth it. Overall we would rate this trip 7/10. The main reason, too many inconsistencies. The other Secrets we’ve been to have all been 9 or 9.5. We have come to learn it’s not about the resort, it’s the people who work there and the little things they do to spoil us that make the resort. We will likely not return. Not because we didn’t enjoy it, but because my wife’s bucket list contains many more Secrets resorts before the list starts over. It’s a good place and we were treated well. Unfortunately other Secrets properties set the bar high, this one fell short.
We stayed at the Secrets Royal Beach in July 2026 for a week’s stay. Overall we found the resort to be great! The staff really make this place what it is! The preferred amenities are worth the upgrade, especially the beautiful lazy river! We found the food to quite good. The lamb ossobusco and quail at the French restaurant were absolutely amazing! Best meal at any Secrets resort we have been to. Our butler “Alfredo” was very attentive and he really made our stay special. The nightly entertainment was quite good. They keep the beach free of sargassum and it is a very walkable beach (we walked 3.5 miles to the right one day). Take water!! The ocean is a crapshoot. Unfortunately, it was pretty awful while we were there. This was disappointing, but the 2 preferred pools (one with hammocks hanging over a shallow pool) made up for it!! Overall we were very pleased with our stay! I would have given a 4.5 if able!
Our second time at this resort and it did not disappoint. The resort is beautiful, the food is amazing, the staff is phenomenal. Get the Preferred club and ask for Super D. Check out Julio in the preferred bar. This is one of our favorite resorts in the Dominican Republic.
did a lot of research prior to booking. The pools, views and facilities were pretty much exactly what I thought it would be: immaculate. The beach set up with shaded seating areas was incredible (even though the sargassum was so abundant we couldn’t get in the water). The hospitality was great! Especially Reuben who was one of the waiters in the beach area. The food, while plentiful left us with very mixed reviews. Nothing we ate was bad/unappetizing. But, very little that we ate was spectacular. The sushi at the Asian restaurant tasted stale. As if the rice had been left to rest for too long. The pork bao was incredible though. Hibachi was a good experience. Entertaining and very yummy dinner. The food at the bluefish grill was flavorless and bland. The chip appetizer was just some crushed up chips from a bag. No effort to be made scratch. My steak wasn’t seasoned at all. El Patio was a great experience. Homemade chips, fresh pico. Ceviche was great. The flat steak may have been the best thing I ate all week. Bourdeau was also a great experience. Felt most “fine dining” of all. Wife loved the duck. I loved the lamb ossobuco. The banana flambé was the best dessert we had there. We both found the beds to be very uncomfortable. They were so hard/firm my skin/muscles that were in contact with the bed were achey and sore each morning when I woke up. Each day that feeling compounded and made me/us very much not looking forward to getting into bed. The entertainment crew really blew us away. The way they use the space and transform different areas for daytime activities was innovative. The shows each night were truly exceptional and a total surprise. I didn’t know the resort put on different shows. All were great, except for the Cirque du Soleil show. The acrobats did a fine job. But became repetitive. And while the vocalists at each show were exceptional, the vocalist at this show was pitchy and missed several of the notes. The latte’s from the coffee shop were stellar. I found the massage to be disappointing. I’ve had many massages and can tell when someone is attuned to the issues in my body and skilled to address them as they come upon them. I felt that neither of those was the case with my masseuse. It seemed that she had a standard protocol that she is never to deviate from. It was still very relaxing and enjoyable. But I had clearly expressed an issue I was having in my back and she did nothing to specifically attempt to address it. I would have been disappointed in this outcome if I had paid $60 for this. Having paid $200…severely overpriced given the service I received. The hydro therapy was absolutely incredible. Kevin was awesome. The room never reached the temperature the thermostat was set to. And, I was never able to adjust the temperature. I asked 4 different times for help with our rooms AC. Supposedly someone was sent to service the AC in my room, but I never saw them. I was told that everything was working properly. But it clearly was not. In addition, when I opened the draw of the bedside nightstand, the drawer completely fell off the tracks and broke. The resort did fix this issue promptly when I made them aware. The room provided hair dryer is pointless. It technically worked. But operates so poorly that it doesn’t dry hair at all. Overall though, we really enjoyed our experience. It was our first all-inclusive. And we’d definitely do that again. Although we probably won’t return to Punta Cana or to Secrets Royal Beach. Not because of anything they did wrong per se. But more because we’d prefer to invest the time/money exploring a different location.
I loved it!! I would definitely love to come back to this resort! The staff was amazing and made a great environment to be in! They made us feel welcome and comfortable! Everything was super easy to access or get to! The resort was absolutely gorgeous and clean. I will definitely be back!
We chose Secrets Royal Beach to celebrate my 50th birthday, and it was the perfect place for the occasion. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are immaculate, the beach is stunning, and there are plenty of pools with something for everyone, whether you're looking for a lively atmosphere or a quiet place to relax. The food exceeded our expectations for an all-inclusive. We enjoyed the variety of restaurants, and every meal was served with friendly, attentive service. The bartenders were fantastic, and the drinks never disappointed. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout our stay. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day. What really stood out was the overall atmosphere. It was easy to slow down, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and spend quality time together. Between the beach, pools, entertainment, and exceptional service, this was exactly the vacation we were hoping for. Thank you to everyone at Secrets Royal Beach for helping make my 50th birthday celebration so special. We made memories that will last a lifetime, and we would gladly return.
I stayed here with my boyfriend in November 2025. I have stayed at Secrets Cap Cana 4 times, but thought I’d try something different. This hotel is nothing like Secrets Cap Cana and well below the standard set there. Check in Very slow. We were preferred and had to wait about 20/25 mins for someone to show us to our room. Then when we walked there the keys didn’t work, so they had to get them sorted. Then when we got in the room the mini bar was not stocked and there were half open bottles of drink in the fridge. Food/drink The food here was actually really nice for all inclusive. Had some great meals and cocktails. Issac at Dreams preferred bar did some great margaritas! Beach/pools Beautiful beach and lots of loungers. This resort however is only good if you like smoking. Me and my boyfriend don’t smoke and wherever you sat on the beach smoke would drift your way and if you were in the pool we saw people smoking in several of the pools at the bars. Just not for us. Preferred section RIP off. Probably 50% of the hotel is preferred and there are huge pool sections which are preferred. So if u don’t pay for preferred u miss out on so many pools. Where as preferred should be a smaller section of the hotel. The butler service was non existent. We were there 14 nights and our butler didn’t ask to meet us until day 10 of the holiday. Gym The gym was alright. 3 separate rooms which we thought had adequate machines for a holiday gym. Tennis was great. My boyfriend did lots of lessons, the instructors were great and it was good value for money. Overall I think I’ll stick to secrets cap Cana
Overall - great experience. We were excited to get away and enjoy the ocean but sadly disappointed after being pressured to upgrade our room and not being able to enjoy the ocean because of the seaweed. We made the most of it by staying in the pool. All the staff we encountered were so amazing and accommodating- we loved getting to know them & enjoyed how they made us feel at home
We went for out honeymoon and just had an absolutely amazing time! The staff and everyone at the resort truly make you feel like family and welcome you with open arms!
This is our 3rd year straight at Secrets Royal Beach during July. Came again due to the lure that we have the options of usage of two resorts (Secrets and Dreams) but mainly the preferred side Drifters Bar the staff are truly amazing - Fanny Luz, Rosa, Sebastian and Obispo are wonderful and truly make you feel you were missed year to year. For the last three years we have had 3 different butlers - Carlos, Orlando and Warners - who were all good, but we were pretty easy guest - we stay at pool all day and have dinner at night. Overall, the faculties are kept very nice and clean. Rooms are good and the AC was really working well especially for a very hot week. Day time room cleaning was very good - fresh towels daily and bed made daily. A bit of a disappointment with the nightly turn down service which only happen twice in a 7-night period. The best restaurant we felt this year was the French and El Patio. The two preferred only spots for breakfast and lunch (at Secrets and Dreams) was good. The entertainment team really improved greatly this year between day activates with prizes given daily and the nightly shows were very good - they changed some of the themes from last year. Disappointing was the casino - very small and not a lot of slots to choose from wish they would invest in expanding especially for people who do not like the disco. Coco Cafe was much better than last year which now serves ice-cream where before you would have to go to Dreams to get. The only negative is the beach has a lot of seaweed but Secrets has three big pools to choose from. Again, I want to stress the bar staff at the preferred side Drifters were amazing and engaging - they made you feel like family. Looking forward to going again to this resort.
We were at Secret World Beach July for and eight night stay. As usual we enjoyed ourselves reconnecting with people we met the last time we were there in March and also meeting some new people. Everyone was wonderful especially the lovely Altagracia at the pool bar, Luigi is the best ay buffet and El Patio. Modesto is so wonderful in the buffet a at El Patio as well. He always falls out of his way to make our meals memorable. No visit to the resort would be complete without meeting up with Fàtima. She's a food concierge for anyone that has allergies. We don't have allergies, but we just like seeing her because she is an amazing person. She organized a lovely table for us at Bordeaux for our last night at the resort. It was so wonderful and thoughtful. Since meeting Fátima in March, we have become very close. We love her very much and feel honored the she sees us as 2nd parents. And we can look at her as an incredible daughter. God is good. Perla was our waitress at Oceana and Bordeaux . She made our lunch time extra special and also our last night celebrating at Bordeaux . I also want to give a shout out to some new people that we met on this visit. Carmelo is an amazing fitness instructor and also a very good Spanish teacher. Junior- Dance instructor Salsa Michael Jordan entertainment team Chocolate Ahayay Entertainment team Melato Entertainment team. Lucia Massage Therapist Rossana Massage Therapist Luis waiter at Bordeaux Katherin Food concierge assistant manager we had a lovely conversation with her about the wonderful staff. Leo waiter at Bordeaux Julio Preferred Lounge the absolute best bar tender and very welcoming. Katerin poached eggs at the buffet. We had a nice conversation with her almost every morning. We can't wait till we see everyone again in September.
Resort is beautiful and very clean. Seaweed in July is Horrific, but the resort makes up for it with outstanding pools and activities. Preferred rooms w/ private pools are amazing. So enjoyable to walk out of the sliding door and into your own pool. Food is above average. No Italian restaurant on site , but there is one next door at Dreams(easy golf cart ride to and from). Book Coco Bongo(you won't regret it,but trust me pay for VIP Gold Member).
The attention to detail after we had an issues with check-in. Marcos our Butler took very good care of us our whole stay, he went above and beyond, making sure my wife’s birthday and our anniversary were celebrated and made us feel very special.Youqulies was absolutely amazing. He made sure that every meal that we were taken care of from the moment we arrived till the moment we left. We can’t say enough about these two. Then there was Julio, Carolina also went above and beyond making us feel special. Also Maria, our house keeper was very respectful and accommodating to our time and needs. Also Kelvin from Oceana and Kelvin from Hitmitsu aka short and tall Kelvin. Pamela, smiling face at Cocos in the morning. The staff ended up making our trip wonderful. There was more staff that I’m missing but not forgotten.
Returning Home.... to Punta Cana.. 13th Anniversary, 4th visit to what was Now Larimar/Dreams now Secrets Royal Beach. Will definately add a review once we have dragged ourselves away from the resort. 7th time to Dominican Republic from Scotland (UK) the people and the island are worth the money spent for 2 weeks of bliss. See you soon .
Ich hatte keine gute Erfahrung gemacht
Hotel maravilhoso. Equipe com simpáticos e excelentes profissionais.
O quarto cheirava um pouquinho de mofo. Eu abria a Porta balcão e melhorava.
It was big and beautiful
The preferred option is not really worth it! The butler should get a backup support and that’s the highlight but everything else not a big deal. I could’ve stayed the same option.
Instalaciones
Los bares con tragos con frutas artificiales y todo al por mayor , en ningún lado me tome un trago bien hecho y con frutas de verdad como debería ser el trópico
La atención por parte del personal fue excelente!!!.. Las instalaciones excelente
The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout the entire stay. There was zero hesitation for any request made and the communication was great. I would most certainly return let alone recommend others to stay at Secrets Royal Beach. The food was better than expected at not only the 4 restaurants on campus but also the buffet. The availability of food and libations near the pools and beach were very convenient. All in all, from our initial walk up to check-in to our check-out everything was exceptional. My wife and I cannot wait to return!
The liquor selection could be greater.
Hotel demasiado caro para lo que ofrece
Comida muy baja calidad, gym espantoso,, servicio cliente deficiente
The staff was very accommodating and the resort was nice and clean.
The all inclusive alcoholic drinks seemed like it was watered down and we didn’t taste the alcohol in the drinks unless you were taking shots. The water bottles also seemed like there were no seals on them, which made me wonder if I was drinking tap water the entire time. The top for the bottle just opened easily and you don’t feel the seal breaking when twisting the top. Additionally, I feel the restaurants can be bigger to accommodate the large population of vacationers because having to wait 1.5 hours to be seated is a bit extensive. We weren’t also able to reserve at the hibachi because it was booked out for two days and we were told that reservations for that restaurant was only 24 hours.

Everything was okay. I really enjoyed parasailing. I did expect more as finding things. A personal map would have been very helpful.
The meals..everything was the same ole thing daily. There was only one restaurant that we preferred during our week long stay. The majority of the meals were flavorless. A few of the staff weren't to pleasant during breakfast.
El servicio de todo el staff fue excelente
La calidad y variedad de las bebidas pueden ser mejor
Realmente tudo estava impecavel.
Encantoooo mucho …!
staff was just awesome they treated us like family rooms was exceptionally clean beach was clean dinner was tasty well presented with pleasant and curteous staff where we dined
i would prefer bottled served at the restaurents
Personal muy atento
Habitación un poco antigua
We love the customer service

Top Anlage, Top Essen, Top Personal! All in all ein super toller Urlaub!
Relaxing resort
Aggressive “vacation club” sales pitch as soon as we arrived. Not enough designated smoking areas means the rest of us get to walk through smoke regularly.
