Parking was a bit tight. The room was in the basement and hence a bit noisy from above in the morning.

We were hapoy with everything

We had 3 rooms booked for our family for 3 nights. Everything was perfect , the rooms were good, the staff all very friendly. Breakfasts were lovely, and the position of the hotel ideal for getting into town. My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times before, and we will definitely stay here again if we come back to Ambleside. Definitely recommend this place, all the family loved it as well. Comfy and clean

Friendly staff, couldn't do enough for you. The breakfast had good quality ingredients. We stayed in a junior suite it was clean and tidy, with good quality linen. This is our second visit to this town house this year. We will continue to go back over the years.

The bathroom was a bit small, no where to put toiletries, a small shelf would have made all of the difference.

The views from the room, the staff and the quality of the breakfast were outstanding.

What left a bad taste in our mouth was that a pipe connecting to the washbasin in the bedroom burst on the first night of the stay but we had to continue to stay in the wet room as there were no spare rooms. We are moved to a much smaller room the next day without a view. What is more aggravating is that the hotel promised a refund of GBP 100 for the inconvenience. Ideally, it should have been atleast one night cost. Importantly, despite an elapse of 3 weeks, neither the hotel nor booking.com has processed the refund. This is unacceptable customer service.

Great location. Very clean, tidy and nicely decorated room. We had everything we needed. Breakfast was great.

The weather was warm and sunny so we needed the windows open at night. We were at the front of the house so the traffic was a little noisy but did settle down as the night went on.

Room is comfortable and the bathroom is really good too. The location is great because it’s close to the centre, while being quite. The breakfast was really good and the staff was very helpful and welcoming. We really enjoyed our time here and recommend it!

My only suggestion would be to add a “lighter” curtain in the ground floor rooms, since the window is just by the street and when we closed the blackout curtains, we lost the sunlight. It wasn’t a big issue, but just a suggestion.

Pillows too hard for me. Having to walk outside to get to dining room.( fine if it's not raining). Security light right outside our bedroom window which lit up the room!. No air con in room.(weather was Hot).

It’s a bed and breakfast. It does both of those things very well. Stayed here multiple times. Nothing to not like.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Ambleside Townhouse. From start to finish, everything was lovely and very pleasant. The attendants were welcoming and helpful, and the room was exceptionally clean, cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely divine, with a huge selection to choose from and something to suit every taste. We genuinely had no complaints throughout our stay. A beautiful place to stay if you’re visiting Ambleside. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would happily return. Highly recommended!

Small bathroom

Room Size: The family room was big enough to comfortably fit all 4 of us. Beds & Noise Level: The beds were comfortable, and the room was quiet at night even though it faced the street. Breakfast & Dietary Options: The breakfast was great, and the staff was very accommodating with providing gluten-free bread and non-dairy milk.

Lack of Amenities: There were no luggage stands provided in the room. Cleanliness Issues: The room could have been cleaner; there were noticeable cobwebs in the corners of both the room and the bathroom. Window Condition: There was black residue in the window frames that appeared to be mold.

Brilliant location a minute walk away from the centre of Ambleside and near the bus route into Grasmere ..Bowness and Windermere We had a pet friendly room and it was very clean with vinal flooring which was great for dog friendly rooms. Very comfortable bed.

Room was ok. Bathroom very small. No nice coffee or fresh milk Could put a small fridge in maybe? Room was on the front of the building on the ground floor ...No Blinds !!!! Very intrusive and every one can see in unless you close the big curtains and then your in the dark. Its a beautiful building so people do look. Suggest some half way blinds like next door have. I always pick a pet friendly stay but when we arrived a supplement of £30 for my 2 small dogs which I thought was very steep. However you should include this when booking as £129 for the room does not include this £30 charge and then shocks you on arrival. Its a big charge for a small family at least advertise the charge more clearly.

Only negative point is, that the hotel is directly next to a busy road with a lot of cars.

Great location, friendly helpful staff, very dog friendly especially handy how dog friendly rooms have their own entrance so can easily take dog in and out to courtyard area without having to pass through main hotel. Breakfast was gorgeous plenty of options and veggie full English especially nice, thank you for a lovely stay. Would recommend and would stay here again

Ambleside Townhouse is within perfect walking distance of the main town, close to a lovely string of pubs and restaurants. It also offers dog friendly rooms and a delicious cooked breakfast each morning. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room, however the staff were more than happy to accommodate us eating on our terrace so that we didn’t have to leave our dog.

Such an amazing property can highly recommend a stay here! we loved having the little terrace bit out the front which is great for when your bringing a pet which we will definetly be doing next time. Breakfast was really tasty and everywhere was lovely and clean. The whole place had a really warm inviting feeling aswell and the location is amazing right in the centre of ambleside.

The Fell Rooms were in a great location in the centre of Ambleside. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also very good.

The room was huge and very cool during the heat wave. Although situated on a main road there was no sound from traffic and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely visit this hotel again.

The down side was the access to the room required a walk down a steep hill that was difficult for my partner due to a sore knee. I could also see this being an issue in the winter months if there was ice on the ground. Not really the hotels fault but worth mentioning for older people or those with mobility issues. They do have rooms through the main reception this might be worth mentioning when booking.

Breakfast was excellent in choice and quality. The room was lovely and kept clean. Staff were very helpful. In the hot weather we had a good fan. We faced the sunshine for a good part of the day so it was put to good use. Close to the bus station and facilities.

We were facing the main road so a bit noisey. The car park was a squeeze but we made hoid use of the buses.

Bathroom was very small, and didn’t have enough hanging space or hooks. There was no shampoo nor conditioner provided - not great given how expensive the room was. Weather was pretty hot - shame we didn’t have a table fan in the room.

The welcome when we arrived was very welcoming . Room size was adequate I would’ve liked to have been able to open the window a little bit more as it was hot. There were good tea making facilities for making tea. The room was quiet

What could’ve been better was the supply of hand, washes, face washes and tissues. The little green cosmetic jars looked all the same. I had to put my glasses on to work out which was which this is a common problem these days as we are getting older and needing glasses, a little bit of differentiation for instance, a different colour would be helpful. The parking was difficult because parking places weren’t allocated, and at times, there was no parking space at all, possibly could be better managed,although that would not work with people with big cars

Everything was pretty much perfect from the moment we arrived. We had our own private parking spot reserved. The check-in was smooth and effortless. The room was spacious, cosy and had everything we needed. The location of the hotel is perfect. Walkable distance to the town centre, to lake windermere and to go out for a hike. The breakfast was brilliant with a variety of options from a full fry-up to avocado on toast and smaller options such as yoghurt and cereal. It tasted delicious.

Excellent choices for breakfast. Our room was on the ground floor with it's own patio great to sit outside in the sun after exploring the lakes Staff pleasant and helpful.

Room was excellent, breakfast was really good and the location was very good for what we had planned to do. Bus stops were opposite one way and just a short walk in the other direction. Shops and food outlets are just a very short walk away, good choice

The car parking is a little tight, some rooms have a dedicated bay but not all. We didn't move our car during our stay but for those that did it was a bit of a lottery as to what parking was free.

I very clearly booked the Townhouse (which I’m familiar with) but was given a room next door in The Fellrooms. This felt like a different hotel in character and I think when booking a distinction should be made.

The Ambleside Townhouse is conveniently located only a minute's walk from the Ambleside Bus Interchange and a 3-4 minute walk from the town centre. The breakfast is wonderful - not to be missed

The 'suite' booked by me turned out to be a regular room with a passage outside the room where staff lockers(?) were located. That passage could obviously not be treated as being part of the guest room. This was not just disappointing but gave me the feeling of being misled. The wifi was unavailable in the room
