Terrible customer service and outdated facilities. The staff showed zero willingness to help guests. When I asked for directions to Starbucks, a staff member literally replied in English, 'I don't speak English,' and just brushed me off. They didn't even try to point the way or call someone who could speak English to help. Aside from the unacceptable service, the hotel itself is very old and desperately needs renovation. Very disappointing experience.

Hotel enorme, lindo e muito confortável. Possui diversos restaurante e uma starbucks. Os quartos são enormes e muito confortáveis, com camas excelentes. A localização é maravilhosa perto do lago e da rua principal. Café-da-manhã maravilhoso.

Eu achei os quartos com cheiro de cigarro. Troquei de quarto 3 vezes por causa do cheiro de cigarro e desisti porque percebi que todos são assim. Os chineses fumam em todos os lugares (apesar dos avisos de proibido fumar) e como o hotel tem muito carpete, acredito que já impegnou, então não teve jeito. Wifi lento, mas isso é em todos os lugares na china.

The location is great. Close to everything you need. The hotel is also very nice and the staff are very helpful. On arrival they could see I speak English so the allocated me an English speaking staff member who helped me with my whole stay. Ordering food taxis and showing me restaurants. Her name was Polina. I loved it here but please do not come here and expect a brand new 5 star hotel, it has been here for a while.

All is good but it’s an old hotel

The Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale offers a truly excellent experience. Its strategic location makes exploring Hangzhou a breeze. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. The rooms are elegant, very spacious, and impeccably clean, ensuring a comfortable and peaceful stay. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, with a wonderful variety of local and international dishes. Overall, it provides exceptional value for a luxurious stay. I highly recommend this hotel without reservation.

This hotel is an excellent place for business travelers to spend the night in the bustling city of Hangzhou. Located right in the heart of the city, this hotel seems to have been designed with your every need in mind. It offers top-notch toiletries, clean, state-of-the-art bathrooms, and all the essentials of daily use. Early check-in or late check-out are also available, depending on your needs. The only downside is the lack of staff who understand and speak English. Rest everything is the best.

I had went to the Wyndham Grand Royale in Hangzhou with my family , and was greeted by Polina , a caring customer service assistant in the reception area , she really made me and my family feel very welcome , her smile and knowledge of the area was fantastic ,

The room service was poor. Used cup was not washed, bath towels not replaced with clean sets and rubbish at the basin not cleared.

Quiet accommodation that is near to the night market and Xihu Broken Bridge. Helpful concierge that recommended good local eateries and provided travel advices. Spacious and clean room.

Very nice rooms, spacious, modern and comfortable. The hotel location is perfect, minutes of walk from West Lake and also from the night market. Staff is very nice and welcoming.

Nice stuff, clean room, great service and staff

I would describe the Wyndham Grand Plaza as a four star hotel and not and 4.5 star. It is rather worn out and tired with a drinks lounge that offered little entertainment value and only a few armchairs in the lobby. The marble flooring is old and worn and the bath room fittings the same. The plus points are that it's well located, near the West lake and the room is very spacious. Breakfast is also quite adequate. Hangzhou, on the other hand, is a wonderful destination, green, low density (compared to other Chinese cities) with great food and nice people!

Very nice staff and great service. Location is awesome where close West Lake and Wulin Night Market, within 10 minutes to metro station.

The location is great! The room cleaning lady is nice.

There is no air-conditioning in the room. The outside temperature was about 28-29 C since we get there then hit 33 C on Mar 26. The room is facing south and was so hot that we can’t sleep over the whole stay. They only bring us a fan and no sorry or any other remedy.

Food was terrible & place was dirty. We spoke to the hotel - and they agreed to cancel our send night’s stay. The most disappointing part was that we tried several times to communicate with You! But your system did not allow us any options to cancel. This should be an easy option given such poor accomodation options are represented on your website!

I was locked in the bathroom of the first room I entered because the sliding door couldn't be opened from the inside if the bathroom door was completely closed. The second room was unbearably warm at 26 degrees Celsiu and no air conditioning. The thick winter bedding made the room temperature felt unbearable which prevented me from falling asleep. It faced a night market, making it too noisy to open the balcony door to have fresh and cool air. The third room was quieter than the first two but still lacked air conditioning, with the temperature reaching 29 degrees. As a result, I decided to cancel my third night.

Fantastic hotel, staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was generous and located very near to amenities! Local restaurants were less than 10 minutes away. The in-house restaurants were also a good option if you're lazy! Just order in!

We spent three nights at the Wyndham grand Plaza. This was our third stay in the hotel, the first since 2019. The staff made us as welcome as ever, the food was excellent and the room was very comfortable and had an amazing view over the lake. Particular thanks are due to the conciergerie, and to Mr Eisuam Sun, who spent a lot of time and energy arranging our seating and wheelchair assistance with the airline taking us onwards to Hong Kong.

The hotel is well made but as a guest they do not treat you well. Lot of confusion among hotel staff with regard to policies and other stuff. I would not recommend this hotel to any foreigner. It's all chaotic. I have stayed at other hotels in China and have always had pleasant time but this hotel I can not say the same.

Lovely hotel quite close to West Lake itself. Well spread out. Nice restaurant on the roof floor with open areas on the roof to explore. Fine food. Lovely views of the area around the lake (which has no high risers due to the lakes beauty apparently.

I don't think this is 5 start hotel: 1) the property facilities are old, for example, the glass-door of shower room cannot prevent shower water leak to bathroom, always. 2) the swimming pool in basement is dark and dirty, with very bad smell, I didn't use but looked around. The fitting facilities and swimming pool are open to public, such as training groups, unsafe at all. 3) the main hotel entry door doesn't open to the street facing west lake (if so that'll be great), however, it's opening to a narrow street with busy traffic, looks like free-market.

Just beside the famous West Lake, beautiful neighborhood, the facilities are new and advanced, friendly staffs. It looks like the hotel shares with other organizations in the same buildings, and it caused the confusion when I arrived. As it locates in the famous tourism area, you can imagine the area is pretty crowded.

Once the staff figured out I was not happy with the desk staff, the other staff, manager and concierge got better at taking care of problems. This is not really a good hotel for a travel or who speaks little Chinese or no Chinese.

Hotel is really nice and staff are great the only thing which I being picky on is bar area not very good.

It's a decent Wyndham property with good availability for 15,000 points per night. The front desk couldn't automatically recognize my membership status, but after showing a screenshot of my Diamond status, they upgraded me to a corner suite. The balcony offers a view of West Lake, although it's just visible and not particularly expansive. There's no complimentary breakfast, but luckily, right outside the hotel is a restaurant called Xin Bai Lu where you can experience traditional Hangzhou cuisine.

Always great, I have stayed there for over 10yrs and always looked after really well, I have know the VP and all the staff during this time , great rates and location, also the best beds with Pillow menu, fab highly recommended

1. Good location, just near by the Westlake & Baoshi mountain, and also close to Zhejiang University. 2. Has a bakery, which is good for enjoying fresh air 3. Serving is good enough, by default withe English service over the phone

1. A bit noisy, I can hear the sound from some kind of bar from downstairs, and the hotel is close to the road 2. Old facilities, for example, the floor is dusty, and the bathroom decoration is like 20 years old style, very small size TV 3. Breakfast not good, the bread is hard as stone, and they did not refresh the soup in a timely manner

Hotel is relatively expensive compared to alternatives. The check-in process was a bit awkward with the receptionist going through a set of memorized questions without really seeming to have much understanding of English. After having given him our passports he said 'can I have your passports please' and 'what's your name?' (it's right there in my passport, right?).

I’m a bit disappointed how dark the rooms have been, on all platforms I have checked before the rooms look bright, but the rooms which don’t might have the huge balcony are pretty dar. Location of the hotel is good, next to the West Lake and just behind the hotel is a food street which many choices of snacks. The hotel breakfast is okay. The view from the roof top is very good, don’t miss it. The stuff seems a bit unmotivated and speaks hardly an understandable English.

Stayed a couple of nights during a working trip. Central location and friendly staff. Was greeted at the reception by Eva. She took care of my needs and was very friendly and professional, even though I was not in best mood - as my flight was canceled leaving me stranded in Hangzhou during COVID. She made my day. Can recommend this hotel further.

The hotel is nicely located close by one of the city’s greatest landmarks, the Westlake, which you can reach from there in an only 3 Minute walk. If it was not for the excellent service and professional handling of guest relations officer Eva Mauxion I would not necessarily recommend the hotel. But she was able to assist and answer all the questions I had. So I can say I experienced an excellent service that certainly makes me choose the Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale in Hangzhou again as long as the staff there is aiming for reaching such a professional standard of customer service.

You can have what you expect from a top 5 start hotel, except for restaurant. The location is really good and convenient. The atmosphere of the hotel is lovely and modern. It's fairly clean. I recommend it to anyone who are cautious about the quality of their stay.

I spent 4 nights at the Wyndham in Hangzhou, and it was great! Perfect location to start excursions from, great and comfortable rooms, delicious dinner and breakfast... and above all super attentive and friendly staff. The Wyndham Grand Hotel was our choice during a 5 nights stay in Hangzhou in August 2020. It is a 30 min. taxi ride away from the airport and located a few hundred meters away from the scenic area of the famous Hangzhou West Lake. Rooms are tidy, the breakfast has lots of Chinese and Western choices and they have a well equipped gym. Unfortunately the indoor swimming pool was closed during our stay due to COVID-19, however, it was big and looked well maintained. A few minute walk away from the hotel is the Kerry Center with an attached mall hosting lots of shops, restaurants, and a supermarket. The hotel also had a nice roof top with a view over the lake. What we will remember the most, however, is the staff. Anyone - from the front desk to the waiters and cooks as well as the cleaning ladies - were friendly, professional, and attentive. Especially their guest relations manager Eva is just amazing. She organized tickets for us and helped us with useful advice sending us loads of personalized, helpful information upfront and patiently assisting us with any of our questions. We can definitely recommend this hotel.

I don't speak Chinese. But. I speak fluent French and English. On our first visit, a four-night stay, we had a great experience and were also able to communicate with the staff who were fluent in English. This time, we were even better served, language-wise. As we were checking in, I recognized a French accent with the manager on duty. I introduced myself in English, she was fluent in English. I then suggested that we switch to French and of course, she was happy to do so. From that point on, Eva M was our go-to person. At casual opportunities, we were able to chat and to be both informed about the hotel and what was going on and to just chat about France, traveling, the 'rona, her internship, just be made to feel welcome and at home. As a bonus, she grew up in Anger, in the Loire River valley and I'd lived in Saumur, about 30 km away so we spent a bit of time talkin' castles. All in all a great one night stay. Of couse, secondarily....the room was great. The breakfast was great. The wifi was great. My wife is a teacher and we have to handle all the beaurocratic stuff in Hangzhou so we just stay the night so we don't have to rush around. The Wyndham is perfect for that.

We came to Hangzhou for the Cirque du Soleil and chose this hotel for its perfect location in the city center near West Lake. We weren't disappointed! Eva from Guest Relations happily gave us a late check out as well as recommendations of cafés to visit to enjoy Hangzhou before going back home. We will come again next time!
