Love the location and the view. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming as well. The studios were incredible and comfortable.

The amount of stairs to climb. Just joking, it was a good work out and it is a beautiful integration into the nature surrounding it

Staff were incredible. Location was exactly as described.

Fabulous views, very clean and hosts provided 2x oil heaters and extra blankets for chilly winter weather. Hosts provided very clear virtual check in instructions.

Its very exposed to the elements and not well insulated so maybe better for a Spring/Summer stay. 130 steps up to the property which gives you the extra special views but a bit of a pain if you’ve left something in the car 🤣 Not one for those with limited fitness or mobility.

The steps !! We were in one of the furthest chalets and although we were warned about the steps - they were definitely not to be taken lightly !

Location is central, staff were very helpful & friendly when booking in. Very peaceful.

The room was cramped with huge couch not suited for such a small space. Bathroom is super small, bathtub facing wrong way around so cannot relax in tub, shower & bathroom door + towel rack all in the same place, slight oversell on unit. Carpets in unit is grossly old & dirty. Patio en entrance grossly dirty & sticky tiles, not cleaned once in the 5 days we were staying. Cleaning lady absolutely a disaster. She made the bed, that was all.

Unit is a bit tired and dated. Needs an upgrade. A lot of stairs to climb approx 136 to get to unit.

Location of the Board Walk is very good, easy check in, very efficient and friendly staff. The Porter certainly earns his wages taking luggage to and from rooms, lots of stairs!

The layout of the Chalet we were in wasn't great, there was no table and chairs inside the apartment, the table and seating is outside, but if it pours down with rain as it did for us!

Great place to stay in Wilderness. The cabin was amazing. We enjoyed a lot. Highly recommended.

The view at Boardwalk Lodge is fantastic - from our apartment we could look out over Wilderness and the beautiful ocean, even managing to watch a whale in the waters one afternoon. The apartment was perfect for our family, it was clean, comfortable and very spacious. The bathrooms were a great size.

Not a criticism, but guests need to manage steps to their accommodation choice, so be sure to mention when booking if there are any mobility challenges.

Location excellent, close to shops and restaurants.

There are a lot of stairs to the chalet! They helped with our luggage but it was an unexpected climb that could be a challenge for some guests.

Everything was amazing. Definitely coming back when we can. The staff were amazing and so helpful.

The views from our lodge were beautiful! Even on a rainy day in Wilderness! The braii facilities were easy to use and the lodge was comfortable and safe. Good location. We would definitely return and stay for longer!

There are ALOT of steps, so be prepared if you have a lot of luggage (it may be best to prepare a smaller bag for the nights you stay here)

There were a lot of steps, but we were well warned and the view was definitely worth it.

Great location near wilderness village and friendly staff who helped with bags to the room. The view of the beach was fantastic.

The pool was not accessible although the hotel description made it seem there was a pool included. Staff said this was for other guests.

The staff were very good and helpful. Bedding was fresh everyday. The view from the balcony was really good.

The lodge, Studio 4 was very run down and it was clear that there was a total lack of investment and upkeep. I had found out that the owner had the business up for sale and clearly didn't want to spend anymore money on it. appalling state of affairs, specially then they were charging at 4/5 star hotel rates. The way the kitchenette was designed made it almost impossible to do anything more then making tea, coffee and toast. This aspect made life very difficult for us as we had intended to make some simple meals for ourselves, which we had to abundant. The company website is misleading as it shows a swimming pool without mentioning that it is only for use by the B&B clients. The location is so high up, say may be 50meters from ground level meant that a car was the only way to get up/down to the rest of the town. This is not for the elderly or infirm.

Beautiful place. Exeptional views. Huge house space. Daily housekeeping included... Clean towels provided daily.

Although fans are provided in the rooms. The house was still very hot, especially in the afternoons.

We had an amazing stay these days in the Boardwalk Lodge. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Views and House were breathtaking. Waking up in the middle of the nature was amazing! Wilderness was a beautiful place and we will definitly come back to these amazing Wood Houses in the calm forest.

Boardwalk Lodge was great, easy to find and check in was simple. The staff were great and gave us all the information we needed and some tips for out and about. The porter was especially good as he carried one of our cases up the 117 steps to our lodge. The view from our terrace was worth every step, amazing views over the whole of Wilderness. A great base for exploring the surrounding area.

Nothing not to like.

Just amazing! The apartment has an optimal space for a several day stay. We loved the yoga equipment and enjoyed a sunny morning stretch on the balcony. The staff were was creating an ambience of comfort and wellbeing.

The living room couches were a bit outdated but fit into the overall setting.

The Boardwalk Lodge is fab! Incredible views of Wilderness, as it's so high up. Therr are a lot of stairs but totally worth it. The lodge is so bright, spacious and well equipped with everything you need. Would highly recommend.

Nothing! Lovely place to stay.

The views from the room were breathtaking. There are a fair amount of stairs to climb but it is all worth it when you reach your unit and soak in the beauty of the Wilderness coastline. The room in general was well equipped, neat and tidy, from the bathroom, to the kitchen to the lounge area. Any requests we had were promptly responded to and actioned. The lodge kept us up to date on loadshedding schedules and the unit was equipped with emergency lights and a gas stove in the event of loadshedding. The lodge is well located within the town and is a short walk from the main restaurant street.

Beautiful and well equipped chalet in the forest, stunning views. Nice gas-fireplace for the cold nights. Friendly & helpful staff.

Poor wifi in the chalet. 130 stairs to the chalet - but if your knees work well it is not too bad.

Cannot say that there's anything we didn't like, but if you decide to book unit 5, the best unit I think, be prepared to climb, be really prepared to climb. It's a 155 steps, UP!

The 143 steps from the carpark to the room - but the again we we forewarned. The Wifi was a problem at times.

Amazing views over the garden route! Thoughtful to include heaters and a fire in the winter months. You can hear the waves of the ocean. Open plan and lots of windows

It’s a given with the type of property but you are open to the elements.

The view is amazing and the unit is spacious and comfortable. Both bedrooms are en-suite, which is great. The location was great, staff very helpful and friendly! Will definitely stay there again.

The views of Wilderness Beach and the staff were so helpful and friendly.

Not a lot, but be warned if you are unfit it is long hike up steep staircases to get to the top lodges !

the view, the area, the sense of being secluded but close by. It is a very good mix of being on our own with people and activities close by without it disturbing you.

i cant say i like the steps but i knew it was there when i booked the place.

Everything was stunning. Every person we encountered was welcoming from the host, to the bell boy, to the receptionist. Great location.

Wir hatten das Chalet #5 gemietet. Viel Platz, gute Ausstattung, schöne Terrasse mit traumhaften Blick auf das Meer. Der Weber-Grill war blitz-blank sauber, die Küche mit allem ausgestattet, was man im Urlaub braucht. Der tägliche Zimmerservice war sehr aufmerksam. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt und wir können das Chalet nur weiterempfehlen. Angeblich haben die einzelnen Chalets unterschiedliche Besitzer und sind unterschiedlich ausgestattet - Nummer 5 war auf jeden Fall sehr schön. Chalet 3 gehört dem gleichen Besitzer und hat ein Schlafzimmer mehr.

The architecture and view of the location are stunning! Wesley the host was super kind and helped with any question. Absolutely nothing was missing :)

The windows do not close properly and it become quite cold inside. But there are enough blankets and small heaters for the bedroom.

Communication

The place is old and stinky with no heater even the office have provided electric heater it did nothing. The place kept cold at all time specially when the electricity went off few times a day. Location of the property it’s not convenient

the check- in time was a bit limited. we had to travel a long way that day and had to hurry to arrive in time before 17h when the chec-in closed for the day. minor pout, though, in the overall picture.
