The location is excellent and the terrace was perfect!
The bed is very firm and not the most comfortable.
Everything! The receptionists were wonderfully friendly and helpful, the location - perfect, an easy walk from the station and very close to the lake and the famous bridges, breakfast was great and I loved the history and charm of the hotel, there were many treasures on display in the corridors, my favourite was the antique rocking horse. Dinner at the Terrace was also wonderful. I appreciated the free coffee and tea available in the guest lounge, and the evening visits from the lovely woman who gave out ideas for tours for the following day.
Nothing.
The friendly staff. So helpful; the comfortable room and the historic ambiance
No ability to make hot drink in the room
Location/ staff helpful
Old needs renovation…historic dies not need to compromiso confort specially if it is an hotel
Nichts
The location, the staff, perfect breakfast, the room size

Location is excellent. Walkable to main sightseeing. Room is spacious.
No A/C in the room. Provided us with 2 fans.
I love old historic hotels! This hotel opened in 1908; however, the adjoining restaurant has been serving food for 500 years! The newly installed portable AC units were much appreciated! Rooms were very comfortable. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Would be happy to stay here again if my travels take me back to Lucerne,
The location was amazing Our hotel was in Lucerne's old town and the building itself was from 1517. They kept many of the historical features of the building, which was nice. Our room (for 3) was big. Bathroom was very clean and very modern.
Air conditioning would have been nice during the heat wave, but the hotel provided fans in our room. Being inside a thick stone building from the 1500s was also helpful. Honestly, if you come to Switzerland in August- come prepared to deal with heat. The town itself has many places by the river where you can cool off and even dip your feet in the water. The city also provides many free water foundations. There are ways to deal with the heat, so my complaint here is very minor.
Superbly located Hotel just 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminals and station and less than 5 mins to the river front and town centre. Rooms luxurious, comfy beds, toiletries, robes and slippers, daily fresh water and mini fridge, portable air con. Superb breakfast with juices, teas/coffee, cereals, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, bread/croissants and cooked (bacon, scrambled/boiled eggs) daily plus apples in reception. Lovely lounge area to relax in in evenings if needed. Hotel staff friendly and helpful with any request.

A hotel full of history, charm and character. It is beautifully maintained, the wooden staircases lead to landings and passages decorated with antique furniture and interesting artefacts. My room was spotlessly clean and spacious with a view over the rooftops of the surrounding buildings. The location is perfect, it’s a few minutes’ walk to the lake and the bridge and an easy 10 minutes to the station. The receptionists were friendly and helpful and the food, for breakfast and dinner, wonderful.
We looked for nice place to have lunch on our way passing through Lucerne and asked in the reception if the restaurants were serving lunch. We got a very nice recommendation for upstairs on the terrace and it was a great lunch experience. Very nice service and delicious food. The temperature outside was HOT and the terrace offered som shadow, air and calm atmosphere up from the street. I had the soup and salad for starters. Delicious! I continued with grilled watermelon as mains. Very tasty and good as a lunch course. Very well done Wilden Mann! Highly recommendable.
Lovely traditional Swiss style hotel in a Great location in centre of all the local attractions with easy access to the train station and river.
Nothing
A lovely traditional hotel. Centrally located for the river walk and access. Air confition8ng helped during the heatwave.
Would have loved one English channel like BBC

We spent 4 nights in the hotel which is located about 5-10 minutes walk from the railway station, and about the same from the old town and ticket office for the lake boat trips. The hotel is old and quaint with interesting furniture and artefacts but the bedrooms and dining rooms are modern and well furnished. Meals can be taken on the terrace. We were on a bed and breakfast tariff so only had breakfast which was fine. Most of the staff were excellent, pleasant and helpful.
Daily housekeeping was nice.
Toda a minha experiência foi excelente! A localização é ótima! A cama é grande e confortável. O banheiro é amplo e modernoe estava muito bem limpo.
We enjoyed out stay and would recommend to anyone traveling to Luzern. Our rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful. You can't beat the location and the view is amazing!
The hotel's location was very good. My wife and I travelled with Gate 1. The room was terrible, with no A/C, while the outside temperature was over 90F. Some rooms had portable A/Cs, but not all. Some of the Gate 1 travelers in the group got the portable A/C. Not sure how that decision was made. For any request you make at the hotel, the staff's first response is "Not Possible". The floors creaked when walking, and it is certain to wake anyone sleeping in the room. We had our last farewell dinner at the hotel. The food was mediocre at best, and the seating was uncomfortable with no A/C. The room TV was tiny. The breakfast was also mediocre at best. The breakfast hour starts at 7 AM on Sundays, and when we entered at 7:01, a staff member, without even looking at the clock, greeted us, saying, "The breakfast starts at 7:00 AM". In general, the service at the hotel was not up to our expectations. I have stayed in many good hotels in Europe, and this is not one of them.
Lage, Junior Suite schön und gemütlich, Essen sehr gut
Optimale Lage, direkt in der Altstadt, super Frühstück, sehr freundliches Personal
Keine Klimaanlage!!
Very nice and convenient to train station
Lage, alles sauber, Frühstück

Excellent experience in Switzerland by the Lake Lucerne. Nicely decorated in antique furnishings and old school charm. Friendly and helpful staff.
Stayed for one night. Room was really lovely and well-decorated. I did room service dinner and breakfast and it was delicious. Staff were friendly and actively helpful. No air-conditioning but not an issue for when I stayed. Pretty large room for Europe. I thought it was an excellent value for the money and I will come back next year.
Lovely traditional feel to the hotel. The reception staff were all exceptional - efficient, polite, helpful and friendly. I was made to feel at home from the get go.
Location, style
No air con. Difficult i know in a property this old but difficult to sleep in hot weather
Excellent hotel. Great location. Wonderful Staff. The rooms were excellent. I would definitely stay here again. I would not recommend the rooms that face the street for any rest. The noise carries all hours of the day and night.
Excellent location. Staff was extremely polite and helpful. The decor in the whole building was exceptional. Very comfortable beds and facilities.
L'emplacement était super. Le personnel efficace et silencieux. L'environnement magnifique.
Rien.
Dommage!
Had a couple of nights in this wonderful hotel. The beautiful interiors and position in the city is perfect. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and our room was stunning. 211 I loved the traditional style and beautiful antiques. Also the double sinks and a walk in shower and a bath. Breakfast was good and we ate it on the fabulous terrace there.
There are hotels… and then there are places that become part of your story. Romantik Hotel Wilden Mann was, without question, my favorite place from my entire trip to Switzerland. As a solo traveler, feeling welcomed matters, and the staff here went far beyond that. Friendly, warm, genuinely kind… and somehow they actually remembered you. It never felt transactional. It felt personal. They even held my luggage before check-in and had it waiting in my room when I arrived, which was such a thoughtful touch after traveling. The hotel itself is pure magic. Over 500 years old, filled with charm and character around every corner. Beautiful old-world details, cozy sitting areas, complimentary coffee and tea, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper. My room was beautiful, the bed incredibly comfortable, and every space felt thoughtful and inviting. The location was perfect, with easy walking access to cafés, shops, and the Chapel Bridge — but one of my favorite parts was knowing that after wandering all day, I got to come back here at night. I absolutely loved it here. A truly special place that I will remember for a very long time. (And PS - breakfast? Amazing. Lots of selection in a beautiful space)
There was a warmth to this hotel. It felt cozy and welcoming. A gem in the city. It was conveniently located.
The internet is not available in room 102. When asked the first person said maybe they will reset router. The next morning rude front desk lady said nothing they will do. We just have to accept it. That room should NOT be given to people who require internet. I had to sit in the hall to get internet access. It was inconvenient to say the least.
Sjarm. Beliggenhet er 10/10! Stå opp tidlig og nyt gamlebyen alene før turistene kommer
Location
This historic hotel has the best staff, wonderful rooms, beautiful antiques and is located in a perfect location.
Nice breakfast, beautiful interier, excellent location, very kind staff
I would like to have coffee machine in my room and a conditioner.
Cozy hotel smack in the middle of everything, with really sweet and considerate staff. But don’t be tempted to take something from the mini-bar, even if the small bottle of white wine reads like a gift “Nice to have you stay with us”. Had to pay 28 CH for it, just over 30 EUR. And it wasn’t even good! Lesson learned.
This hotel is a very pleasant place to stay on the flat in the old town and suited our party as we had a member who would have struggled with a hilly area. The staff were welcoming, very friendly and helpful and the breakfast choice was good each morning. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
If your personal or business travels take you to Luzern, you must stay at the Hotel Wilden Mann. You will feel like you are transported back in history, but with modern conveniences. There is an excellent breakfast spread and the coffee is served hot.
This hotel is a historic gem in Lucerne. It’s bursting with character and old world charm, and we found all our rooms to be spacious, clean and well looked after. The breakfast had plenty of fresh options and unlimited drinks which saved us money and time finding local breakfast places. The location is perfect, easy to get to from the train station and close to everything you need for a short visit. The staff were exceptional, in particular answering queries and requests ahead of our arrival and ensuring we had a first floor room that supported one of our party’s physical needs.
The only slight issue is that as it’s an old building there isn’t much sound proofing in the rooms. We stayed on floor one and could hear the people in rooms above us walking around. Luckily they didn’t stay up late!
Our family (American; husband and wife with two young kids) stayed at the Wilden Mann for 3 nights during Easter vacation. From service to decor to location, the hotel was idyllic. An exemplary romantic boutique hotel—the highlight of our week in Switzerland. We look forward to returning!
Good location, just one street back from river. Very old property. Comfortable room, and plenty of storage. Extra pillow provided which was good. Nice sitting areas No coffee in room, but a machine provided so possible to have coffee anytime. Complimentary water provided.
Nothing
Staff was helpful and very pleasant - Domique was terrific - helped with specific requests. The original room we booked was a little cramped, so we upgraded to a Jr. Suite with an updated bathroom. This is an older hotel in the heart of the city, and it expresses the charm of the area.
The location of the hotel was fantastic. An easy walk to the train station and to restaurants. Very charming atmosphere and a lovely outdoor terrace restaurant onsite. Very helpful young lady on the reception desk.
Nothing.
The location is great, right in the middle of a bustling centre and a 10 minute walk from the train station. I can only comment on the breakfast (as we are out for other meals) which was continental and had a good choice and variety. Room service was great and left a little note with the next days weather forecast and a few ideas on where to visit during your stay. The room itself was comfortable. We were only there for 2 nights so it suited us. The bathroom was very small but had everything that we needed. The only drawback was that it was hot in the room and no air conditioning. It wasn't particularly hot when we went as it was April so I wouldn't like to be in there at the height of summer. The windows opened fully but because of the location it was very noisy. The local bar which is right opposite the hotel closed at 1.30 a.m the first night and 2.30 a.m the second night and because they have outdoor seating area it was very loud and you can hear everything. We thought it would be OK because we could have a lie in the next day but no. The deliveries started at 6 a.m with trucks coming and going unloading to various businesses which are located right next to the hotel. It is a good location and right at the the heart of the area but that comes with the hustle and bustle of a very busy social aspect. Maybe in winter when people don't sit outside drinking and you can have the windows shut it would be OK but I wouldn't stay there again
Very disappointing experience. We arrived at approximately 1:45 p.m. and were refused, despite the website showing lunch opening until 2:00 p.m. This is the second time this has happened. If new guests are not accepted after 1:45 p.m., then the website should clearly say “last seating at 1:45 p.m.” Publishing 2:00 p.m. creates a reasonable expectation that guests can still be admitted before then.
This was our 4th visit to Lucerne and we chose this historic boutique hotel. It was a great stay and everything and everyone were of high standards. Our room was a corner room facing a charming small square with a fountain(see picture). We loved the view with only one concern: the constant late night/early morning noise from people taking loudly from I assume 3 bar/restaurants located below on the strasse. Surprisingly enough, as we mentioned our concern as we were checking out, the front desk had never heard anyone “mentioning” it. Having said that, our stay was a very pleasant one and we appreciated all the staff at every turn, especially Tenzin at front desk. THANK YOU ALL. We will certainly consider you for our next visit. Stayed here many times. Jusyed visited this time to say hello to the staff
Ubicación excelente. A 5 min de la estación de tren.
Vieta, vieta, vieta!!! Pastato detalės į smulkmenas, viskas apgalvota!!! Nuostabi patirtis!!!
Niente!

The hotel is a wonderful combination of history (public rooms and furnishings) and modern conveniences (up-to-date bathrooms). It was centrally located in Old Town Lucerne. The room was quiet and had very comfortable beds and pillows. There were many "his and hers" amenities: robes and slippers; separate closets; dual sinks; a modern tub and shower; electrical outlets for recharging mobile phones and light switches on both sides of the bed; and two portable luggage racks. The lighting in the bathroom was excellent. The windows could be opened for fresh air. There was a turndown service in the evening. The breakfast buffet was excellent with meats, cheeses, breads, muesli, and an assortment of juices and hot beverages. The staff was very friendly and informative. After I asked about the origin of the hotel's name "Der Wilde Mann," a staff member told me about the triangular painting of the Wild Man in a dining room that was originally part of the Kapellbrücke; it had been donated to the Hotel before the tragic fire of 1993, making it one of the few paintings that have survived from that iconic bridge. The hotel was great. However, the cobble-stone streets (especially for rolling luggage) and the rather speedy bicyclists might annoy some visitors. No problem for us.
Friendly and helpful staff, very convenient location, lovely breakfasts, and charming decore. Thoroughly recommend!
