The young receptionist who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. The location was good, only a short walk from the train station and the Old Town. Our room was fine for a one night stay and although expensive seemed reasonable for Lucerne! The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The coffee machine at breakfast was good.

The shower was of a poor design and easily flooded the bathroom floor.

The only plus point is location; other than that the hotel is really very bad

There is no basic facilities , no towel in toilet, no people in reception; often I had to wait for a very long time to get attended. The rooms are very uncomfortable Overall vibe is 1/10

Very dated, small room with no space to store all your belongings, bathroom dating back to 1970’s with a shower curtain, grout very dirty, bath cabinet so old and paint chipped with a useless mirror

It was clean and breakfast was great . You could walk to the train station and other sights.

The room was not quiet, the doors slammed. We were by the breakfast room. Around 5:30 in the morning the staff were so loud!!

Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich gut, man war in wenigen Minuten an den Hot Spots der Innenstadt. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten nur ein paar Meter entfernt. Das Hotelpersonal war sehr nett, es gab zum Abschied 2 Tafeln Schokolade...

Das Bad war winzig, das Zimmer ebenfalls. Alles etwas überaltert. Die Türsicherungskette war keine... Das Frühstück bot keine Höhepunkte, der Kaffee war allenfalls mit zusätzlichem Wasser trinkbar. Der Hotelparkplatz kostete pro Tag 25 CHF, was nicht in der Beschreibung stand/steht und ist zwar in einer Innenstadt nicht verwunderlich, kam aber sehr unerwartet.

The property’s location is exceptional! In walking distance to so many local attractions, 10mins to the main train station and conveniently situated near many bus stops. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

As we were three in our room, I would have preferred a slightly more private bathroom. Also, there was tea and coffee facilities but no milk.

Sehr zentrale Lage direkt bei der Altstadt. Gutes Frühstück. Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig. Es ist alles da was man braucht, aber die Zimmer und das Hotel sind in die Jahre gekommen.

La atención del personal, sobre todo el día qué llegamos y el dia que salimos super amables los chicos en recepción. El desayuno muy variado. Muy limpio, confortable, silencioso Muy cerca del centro.

Excellent location. Everything was five to eight minutes away on foot. It cannot get better than that. The room and facilities were lovely. No complaints.

La salle de douche, très exiguë, l’eau coule au sol, pas de paroi de douche à l’avant. Pas de place pour poser une trousse de toilette. Un peu vétuste. Lampe déboîtée au dessus du lit.

We liked the breakfast. Beds were firm but comfortable.

Rooms were hot and very small. The bathrooms were tiny. Just a bed and a chair in the room.

Die Lage, ruhig und gute Matratzen, besonders der Kaffee-Teebereiter hat uns erfreut.

Schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, besonders die Badewanne war sehr abgenutzt.

Room is dated; however, a fan was provided because of the heat. Housekeeping did a wonderful job providing enough towels, etc. Location is ideal; centrally located and ~15 min walk from the train station. Very easy to find using Google Maps. A free bus / train pass is given to each guest to use. Breakfast was very good, Plenty of choices and the waitress was very attentive considering she was the only one working the dining room.

Possibly due some cosmetic touch-ups, i.e. painting, new carpet, etc.

Das Bett , das wohl notdürftig repariert wurde, verlor einen grossen teil der Latten, als ich mich ins Bett legte!!! Die Schäden sind schon älter, das hat man gesehen. Ist ihnen wohl egal. Das Fenster ist auch kaputt, als ich es öffnete, dachte ich es fliegt gleich raus! Vor dem Haus ist eine Bar, wo es sehr laut zu und her geht. Ist für mich das schlechteste Hotel, wo wir Übernachtet haben

La proximité avec le centre de Luzern. A 10 mn à pied de la gare. Des bus à 2 mn pour aller à la gare routière. L’hôtel donne une carte pour les transports gratuit (bus, tram, funiculaire). Bonbonnes d’eau et jus d’orange sont à discrétion à la réception. Très bon petit déjeuner, complet et varié.

Chambre simple et sans charme. Mais pratique au vu du prix et de la proximité avec le centre ville.

In good location close to river and old parts of city and 10 minute walk to station.the

Unfriendly welcome on arrival. Tired and grubby reception. Superior kingsize room was small, dark, cheaply furnished. There was an overpowering smell of cleaning fluids in the very small room and despite the overzealous use of these, there was heavy black mould around the sealant in the bath/shower. We did have a balcony so at least we could open the doors to let fresh air in. The balcony doors did not lock and could just be pushed open from the outside. We were overlooking properties at the back so we were overlooked too, right into the room, and on the second floor did not feel secure due to the unlockable balcony doors.

Staff friendly, breakfast was nice, close to old town, room clean.

Bathroom was tiny, shower was very small and had 2 levels in the floor, so small I had to stand sideways to fit in(and I'm not a large person). My size 8 woman's feet could not fit in the floor space of the shower. Very dangerous to climb in and out if shower, would not be suitable fir anyone with mobility isdues/elderly.

It is a 10 minute walking distance from the train station and close to old town sights. Good breakfast selection. Eggs and bacon and typical continental breakfast fixings.

Across from tavern. At 2am, some loud patrons hung out on the street. We had our windows open due to the hot weather.

The two staff members we met were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s very close to the Old Town, Chapel Bridge, the Lion Monument, and the dock for boats to Rigi. A great location for exploring Lucerne! The breakfast is good enough to get us to start for the day.

The room was extremely hot. It was only 24°C outside and raining, but the temperature inside the room was around 30°C, which made it very uncomfortable. The shower stall also has no curtain or glass door, so water splashes everywhere and the entire bathroom becomes flooded after taking a shower. This definitely needs improvement.

Excellent location, easy to find. Hotel had an elevator which was great. Breakfast was good. No airconditioning, but we had a couple fans that worked well. Highly recommend staying at Hotel Rothaus.

Beds were a nit low to the floor and not the softest.

The room was much smaller than shown in the photos. We had booked superior double room but the given room was not that.

Great value. It is not a 5 star hotel but if you are looking for a place with a great location, great staff, clean and comfortable it is great for the price

When we were there it was a bit warm and with no air conditioning it took a bit of time for it to cool off at night

Buongiorno, vorrei precisare che avevo contattato telefonicamente la struttura già il giorno prima del nostro arrivo proprio per avere conferma della disponibilità del parcheggio. Avevo scelto questa struttura appositamente perché nell’annuncio pubblicato sulla vostra piattaforma era indicata la presenza di un parcheggio privato. Una volta arrivati, però, abbiamo scoperto che la situazione era ben diversa: la struttura dispone solamente di tre posti auto, che non erano disponibili per noi. Di conseguenza, sono stato costretto a cercare parcheggio altrove, a una certa distanza dall’hotel. Non conoscendo la zona, questo mi ha creato un notevole disagio e mi ha fatto perdere tempo per trovare una sistemazione per l’auto. Tengo a sottolineare che, durante la ricerca su Booking, avevo selezionato appositamente una struttura dotata di parcheggio proprio per evitare questo tipo di problema. Se avessi saputo in anticipo che il parcheggio aveva solamente tre posti e che non era garantito agli ospiti, probabilmente avrei scelto un’altra struttura. Ritengo quindi che le informazioni riportate nell’annuncio non fossero sufficientemente chiare e che quanto offerto non corrispondesse alle mie aspettative al momento della prenotazione. Chiedo pertanto che la mia segnalazione venga presa in considerazione e che venga verificato quanto indicato nell’annuncio della struttura. Cordiali saluti Gaetano Saitta

Gutes Frühstücksbuffet , gute Lage , zentral, Steckdosen neben Bett vorhanden. Nachttischlampe mit guter Lichtqualität vorhanden.

leider Parkhaus sehr teuer - ermäßigtes Parken für Hotelgäste wäre schön. Licht beim Kleiderschrank könnte heller sein.

Breakfast was average. Room was clean. The people in the breakfast room were working really hard to refill items and keep the tables clean.

We reached the hotel around noon and the person ( Mr Mateo) was not friendly. He was just interested in taking the hotel taxes as the room was already paid and after that told us we could not check in till 3:00 pm. The rest of the front staff which we encountered were very good. The floor in the bathroom was getting wet as there was no shower door or curtain.

I would suggest ceiling fans be installed. We stayed in August and it was hot. sleeping with the window open and fan going helped, but I think ceiling fans would also be beneficial. Also, the beds were comfortable, but a little low to the floor. I would stay at the Hotel again

There was nu air conditioning in the room. Only fan, that was very loud during the night. Also the cautch was very unconfortable as the sirface was not even and we slept with the head lower than the feets. The other couple with witch we traveled was ok with the matrimonial bed. das Zimmer war bei offenem Fenster recgt laut, da auch spät Abends lärmende Leute auf der Strasse waren. Es war im Zimmer heiss, so dass ich das Fenster in der Nacht gerne geöffnet hätte, musste es wegen dem Lärm dann aber schliessen
