Wspaniały hotel. Jeden z najlepszych jakie odwiedziłem w swoim życiu. Bardzo miła obsługa. Zadbany w każdym detalu. Piękne ogrody i architektura.

After staying at several Four Seasons properties in China, Four Seasons Hangzhou at West Lake is by far my favourite. The service, food, facilities and landscape are all at the level you would expect from the brand, but what really sets this property apart is its sense of place. It feels much closer to a resort than simply a hotel. The hotel is beautifully integrated into its surroundings, with gardens filled with lush greenery, lily ponds, streams, water bridges and covered corridors featuring traditional Chinese architectural elements. Even during the rainy season, we enjoyed walking around the property and taking in the picturesque scenery. We stayed in Room 166, which had a wonderful 270-degree panoramic view over a private garden, together with an outdoor terrace. Sitting outside with a cup of tea, watching the raindrops fall into the garden and simply slowing down was almost heavenly. The low density of the property is another major advantage. We rarely encountered other guests beyond the main lobby, which made it incredibly easy to unwind and enjoy a real sense of privacy and solitude. The dining was another highlight. Jin Sha, the hotel's Michelin one-star Chinese restaurant, is a must-try. It combines a beautiful traditional setting overlooking the gardens with refined Jiangsu-Zhejiang cuisine and seasonal ingredients. We also enjoyed West Lake Bistro, the Italian restaurant, where the seafood was fresh and full of flavour. The Eight Trigrams cocktails at the Lobby Lounge were particularly interesting and creative, offering a fun interpretation of traditional Chinese culture through cocktails. One of our favourite experiences was the traditional Chinese costume photo shoot within the hotel. It was a wonderful way to experience the property and, more importantly, created some very special memories for our family to take home with us. The gym is surprisingly small for a hotel of this calibre, and the swimming pool and gym are located in a separate area, meaning guests normally need to walk outside for a short distance to reach them. These are not really shortcomings that can be easily addressed, given that the property was designed and developed more than 15 years ago. To their credit, the staff openly acknowledged these limitations and offered us access to a staff passageway so that we could reach the facilities without walking outside in the rain. This was particularly helpful during the rainy season and with young children. I would like to thank Frieda and Cathy from Breakfast, Peter from Jin Sha, Lulu, Sunny and Jasmine from the Front Desk, Hayden from the Bistro and Albert from the Pool area. They all contributed to making our family trip even more memorable. Four Seasons Hangzhou at West Lake is a very special property. The combination of beautiful Chinese gardens, tranquillity, outstanding dining and genuinely attentive service makes it feel like a private retreat within Hangzhou. Of all the Four Seasons hotels I have stayed at in China, this is the one I would most happily return to.
My stay was, unfortunately, much too short and less than 24 hours. But this gave me a taste of how lovely and relaxing a longer stay could be. This is a resort, not a business hotel in city center, so the room was really spacious - with an enclosed patio of sorts connected to the living area. The bath room was huge, and the bath tub is next to the window with a view of the greenery outside. The whole place with the greenery and the lotus ponds was designed to put guests in a relaxing mood. Unfortunately I was too busy working inside the room and didn't spend enough time strolling the grounds. The popular trend in China is for travelers to do photoshoots dressed in "period costume", and the hotel also offers this service. Could be something interestng for many people. We had a fantastic dinner at Jin Sha, with many local and seasonal dishes. Breakfast buffet also offers a number of dim sum items that one could order. For our "fruit basket", the hotel offered a varietal of fresh berries, plus fresh lotus seeds which were in season. Not many people get the chance to eat fresh lotus seeds still in their green shells. I wish I had more time at this property. Would love to return.
Very convenient good food and services
Grandes chambres, confortables. Tout était parfait !
Rien !
One of the most amazing hotel I stayed at. Was stopping by for one night before heading to Shanghai. The staff here really are attentive and helpful. Great breakfast buffet that’s offer extensive options. They also offered a complementary photo shoot with three photos free of charge. They did an amazing job and were very professional . They’re called the 上惊鸿旅拍. Really made the stay extra memorable. Don’t forget to visit the rooftop bar.
Room was kept well and the architecture was beautiful. Service was excellent
We had a lovely 4 nights stay at the Four Seasons Hangzhou. The property itself is beautiful, especially the garden, which is peaceful and well maintained. That said, the rooms, pool, and gym feel like they are due for an update. On our first day checking in, there were mosquitoes in the room, and we had to request mosquito repellent, which the staff kindly provided. What truly made the stay enjoyable was the service. The staff were consistently super helpful and kind throughout our visit. The reception team was attentive and supportive whenever we needed assistance. A special mention goes to Sarah at the kids’ club—she was excellent. Our children went to the kids’ club every day and always came back talking about how much they enjoyed their time with her. She really made a difference in our stay. During the daytime, there was also a lovely cultural touch, with a lady playing traditional Chinese music daily. In addition, the hotel offers activities such as Chinese calligraphy and tea ceremony demonstrations, which were very interesting and well presented to guests. Overall, while some facilities could use upgrading, the beautiful surroundings, cultural experiences, and outstanding staff made our stay very memorable.

I stayed here in early June and I have to say this is the greatest Four Seasons Hotel experience I have. I have stayed in multiple Four Seasons Hotel and they have good services, but this hotel has the best services out of all of them. I was stuck in my connection flight due to typhoon but they are very responsive on the Four Seasons app when I contact them. The staff Navy Zhu is absolutely amazing and I’m glad he is often at the front desk. His staff LuLu (I think that’s her name) is extremely knowledgeable about things you need and places you want to go. The breakfast buffet staff Cathy is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The staff are meticulous, and the hotel is about tranquility. You ought to stay here even though the price is much more than the other Four Seasons in the city.
The service is impeccable. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.
I absolutely love Four Seasons Hangzhou at West Lake. It’s not just the group’s ESG efforts, you really feel how much the hotel cares about the environment. No single-use plastics anywhere: water’s in cans, the toiletries are big refill bottles to cut waste, and even the takeaway boxes in the restaurants are biodegradable. As someone who’s really into sustainability, it’s brilliant to see these kinds of eco-friendly steps at such a stunning hotel
I recently stayed at Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake, and what stood out most was the team’s professionalism in a moment that truly mattered. On the second day of my stay, I experienced sudden discomfort and wasn’t sure how to proceed. Manager Y. Huang responded with remarkable efficiency and sound judgment — arranging the necessary medication and medical support promptly. Equally important was the empathy shown to my wife, who was understandably concerned. The team handled everything with calmness and genuine care, with special thanks to Carina, whose kindness brought great comfort during the situation. As a frequent traveler between Hong Kong and Boston, I have seen many luxury properties — this was service at its finest.
Best hotel in Hangzhou. Bright , modern and welcoming with all the comforts you'd expect from a Four Seasons. Flower displays in the main lobby a wonder. Rooms large and spacious with great power showers and ferocious aircon that's welcome on a hot night. Reception staff helpful and efficient. Location superb - a ten minute walk from the front door to the lake but it's even better to take the electric boat from the dock by the old pool. The views from the boat on a good day are stunning. The hotel gardens are a joy. Watch out for the amazing bird life in the trees. One negative is the reservation system for the Michelin restaurant. They changed our dinner slot without telling us. As a result we had to head off to the Aman half an hour away to eat. Better coordination would have made our trip even better. Good breakfast although short on western staples.

Right at the doorstep of the West Lake this is a beautiful property with immaculate gardens that made morning walks all the better. The service from the team in particular is worth noting, we had an wonderful pre-arrival experience in which the highly experienced team (in particular Lulu & Amber) helped us arrange and manage our various activities and restaurant reservations during our time in Hangzhou. This was also executed faultlessly by our guide Forrest. If you can, definitely book the private boat experience which takes you off the beaten track of the West Lake - unsurprising that the area has inspired artists and poets from centuries past. Delicious Jin Sha restaurant which had already come highly recommended prior to our stay by friends but we were blown away with the most delicate Zhejiang cuisine. We'll be back in hopefully the not too distant future and cannot wait to continue discovering Hangzhou in its many seasons.
Beautiful vintage setting, great food and amazing gardens. Not great value for money at the price point, Hangzhou as many options at one fourth the price which are great five stars for visiting the area.
We had a amazing stay here. Both the Italian and Chinese cuisine are great, especially the Chinese. Also, any staff we encountered treated us so well and gave us the best experience. Special thanks to our room attendant Clark for the cute gift. We loved it!
The staff were so kind and accommodating one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at
On the shores of West Lake, the location is unparalleled—simply fantastic—and invites a leisurely round trip along the Su Causeway and its surroundings. And the hotel itself! A dreamlike place, with its beautiful gardens, magnificent buildings, and enchanting pavilions. Indescribable. The rooms are comfortable and completely silent. In the lobby, the guzheng is played live every afternoon, providing the perfect tone for the hotel’s perfect atmosphere. Excellent breakfast. For dinner, we tried Jin Sha, which serves traditional Chinese cuisine. Excellent food and service. It is important to note that the staff has an excellent command of English.
My only regret is not having stayed longer.

The facilities were grand and luxurious. Appeared clean. Staff were all very well mannered and helpful. Can speak English. Everything was well maintained. Accommodated with our requests. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
The hefty deposit required during check in.
My stay at the Four Seasons was truly an exceptional experience. I would like to sincerely thank the reception team for their warm welcome and outstanding professionalism from the moment I arrived — they made me feel genuinely valued as a guest. A special thank you to the concierge lady for her exceptional service, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond to assist with every request. I would also like to express my appreciation to the room attendant for the beautiful handwritten messages and thoughtful gifts, which were such a lovely touch and will remain cherished memories of my stay. A truly unforgettable experience, and I look forward to returning
The hotel is out of this world. Being so close to the lake and near the botanical garden, the location is great for people who love greenery. The hotel staff is exemplary in their service. They are so helpful and always speak with a smile. Facilities such as pool and the breakfast is great! Would highly recommend this hotel.
This has been the best hotel I have stayed at, it is a little expensive but it was well worth it. The staff are super helpful and you get so many extras. The Jin Sha restaurant is also very good as well. Highly recommended.

Exceptional place! Super-friendly and professional staff, amazing facilities (I loved the pool!). Pricey but worth the experience.
I stayed at Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake from October 5th to 8th, 2025, sharing a twin room with a friend. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. The resort’s location near West Lake and major attractions made it both peaceful and convenient. The gardens, swimming pool, and spa are absolutely beautiful and create a feeling of calm luxury. The service was exceptional, with every detail thoughtfully handled. The staff were attentive and kind, and the food was excellent throughout our stay. A special thanks to Lulu Liu for making everything perfect and ensuring our time at the resort was unforgettable. I can’t wait to return!
Just wrapped up an incredible vacation at the Four Seasons West Lake in Hangzhou, and I’m beyond excited to share my experience! From the moment I checked in, Lulu and Maggie took such good care of me – they went above and beyond. They showed me around the hotel, explained all the facilities, and even helped me handle a little hiccup that popped up during my stay. Super chill and always ready to help – major shoutout to them! Now, let’s talk about the Jinsha Hall – if you’re into amazing food, you gotta try their crispy chicken. No kidding, it’s fire! Best thing I ate all week, hands down. The whole restaurant was top-notch, really top-tier service and vibes. This stay definitely made me fall in love with Hangzhou all over again. The Four Seasons West Lake is gonna be a big factor in my next trip back, no doubt about it. If you’re looking to have a killer time in Hangzhou, this place is a total no-brainer! Thanks again to Lulu, Maggie, and the entire team. You guys made this trip one to remember!
Everything , best hotel to ever exist

The best four season experience in my life.
Magnifique hotel.

The garden and the location of the property The staff very nice and helpful Very clean
The rooms were a bit aged ! And smelling damp a bit. And the breakfast was not exceptional! We always stays in Fourseasons and with the amazing location and amazing property the rooms can be upgraded a bit and the breakfast was not comparable with other properties. And no outdoor swimming pool.
Bellissimo resort, ovviamente stanze, parti comuni, qualità del sevizio all’altezza di Four Seasons. Unica, invece l’attenzione e l’accoglienza riservataci.
You would think that it's hard to find worldclass hotels in a city that's less known by international tourists, but Four Seasons West Lake Hangzhou easily held its own against some of the best hotels in the world, so much so that we visited twice within a span of two months. Situated within a 10-minute walk to the scenic West Lake, Four Seasons West Lake Hangzhou is a stunning property with intricately designed Chinese-style courtyards and gardens. The rooms were spacious, starting from 63 sqm, and featured an enclosed balcony overlooking the courtyard and garden below. It was only until a few months later that we found out that we were in fact upgraded both times to the Premier Garden-view Rooms as the staff did not tell us both times that an upgrade was offered. The entry-level room does not have a balcony - just FYI. Service was as good as it gets. Every staff member we had the pleasure of interacting with during our stay was more than warm and hospitable, as you would expect from Four Seasons. Breakfast was scrumptious and plentiful, and you can order fresh Dim Sum from the famed Jin Sha Restaurant. The restaurant itself, however, did not impress. Well certain dishes were indeed stellar, it simply does not justify the price tag. There are certain hotels out there, and while mostly pleasant, you just wouldn't mind skipping over to try something else. This is not that kind of hotel. It made damn sure that from now onwards, as long as I visit Hangzhou, this is where I would like to stay.
The architecture design is aesthetic, especially like the garden design, harmonic fitting in the HangZhou
This hotel deserves 5+ star. The staff is extremely nice and friendly, the service is extraordinary, and breakfast buffet is excellent. Last but not least, the traditional Chinese architecture and garden design are unparalleled masterpieces!
Love this property. It has a very beautiful garden and lake. Very good and attentive service. Room with nice garden view and good amenities. Extensive room service options is a big plus for my family.
We had a wonderful stay — the staff were warm and attentive, and they thoughtfully accommodated all our requests. The atmosphere was quiet and private, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We also appreciated the thoughtful recommendations for places to visit around the area. The hotel’s architecture, rooted in the heritage of West Lake Hangzhou, was absolutely beautiful and added a unique charm to our experience. Highly recommended for those seeking both comfort and cultural richness.
What’s there not to like?
Highly recommended for those who enjoy Chinese traditional garden. Excellent service.
The property is stunning! You feel alone with nature, so quiet and peaceful.
The property is the most expensive place in China. The prices for food or drinks is astronomical and then they add a 15% service fee to everything, From a $15 coffee to a $37 hamburger. It made the Ritz Carlton look like a bargain. Also English speaking staff was hard to come by.
Best hotel in Hangzhou. Great location for west lake touring
We had a wonderful stay at the Four Seasons Hangzhou at West Lake Hotel in April. The hotel impressed us with its spacious room, excellent service, and warm-welcoming staffs. The concierge staff was exceptionally helpful, providing insightful recommendations that truly enhanced our trip. As it’s our first time to Hangzhou, we greatly appreciated the valuable information he shared. His restaurant suggestions were fantastic, and their assistance with reservations made dining seamless. A charming touch was the provision of snacks in our room during the first two days. I particularly loved the tea paired with green bean cakes and chocolates. It’s pity that they weren’t available for purchase! The hotel shop had a wonderful selection of souvenirs, where we bought some hand-crafted teapot, cups, and a stylish Han shirt. Hanging around the shop was a delightful experience. The hotel’s comfortable environment, surrounded by many trees and grass. Breakfast was equally impressive, offering a diverse selection of food, including dim sum from a Michelin-recognized Jin Sha restaurant. Our stay package included the boat trip. We opted to upgrade to an electronic boat, and it was absolutely worth it! This allowed us to enjoy West Lake’s breathtaking scenery away from the crowds. A special surprise from the hotel was receiving a beautiful bouquet, adding another thoughtful touch to a memorable experience. Four Seasons truly knows how to exceed expectations. I also like the hotel’s instant communication through the hotel app, which allowed for quicker responses compared to email. This efficient response sets Four Seasons apart from other luxury hotels. We dined at WL Bistro and Jin Sha during our stay. The WL Bistro offered great service, and my child loved the seasonal pasta. He said it was tasty. Jin Sha, a Michelin-starred restaurant, just delivered fair quality of food and service. Honestly, it didn’t fully meet my expectations. We also reserved a hotel car for airport transportation, and the staffs were incredibly nice and helpful. While the tea plantation tour was an interesting experience, it may not suit those who prefer more relaxed activity. Our early April visit meant encountering quite a few flies, and the stairs were slippery due to previous rain, which unfortunately led to my child slipping (thankfully, without injury). Although the tea planting session was enjoyable, the latter session was less satisfying. After the tea garden staff had shared insightful knowledge, the session quickly shifted into the sale of supplements and tea, which was disappointing given the tour cost CNY 1,800—we expected a purely educational experience, enjoyable tea time with beautiful view but free from commercial upselling. A minor issue was the room temperature fluctuation after midnight. For the first two nights, the temperature automatically alternated between very hot and very cold, but it thankfully became stable for the last two nights. Overall, Four Seasons Hangzhou at West Lake offers luxury and relaxing stay.
Came to Hangzhou for 4 days with family, hotel is amazing with superb quality service, great facilities, quiet private garden and excellent location. Special thanks to Lulu and Rebecca's thoughtful services that impress us and perfect our holiday. We will come and stay at your hotel when we come back to Hangzhou!!!
Great guest service. Best location to visit West Lake. Very comfortable room. Great decor.
Traffic around the area as it's located right in the middle of the West Lake tourist spots.
This is a beautiful hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the main area. The drawback to this is you are stuck in traffic all the time to get anywhere. The staff are all very kind and welcoming. Amber and Lulu were especially helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. It’s a very expensive hotel so expect prices for F&B and the spa to be on line with that.
Perhaps my wife raised my expectations somewhat as she stayed some years back on a business trip with a friend and raved about it. The hotel certainly has a presence as we arrived and the lobby area was impressively large, overlooking a man-made pond and greenery beyond. There were preparations for a wedding dinner and the setting up untidiness over the pond took away any wow effect. The suite was generous in size but our view was obstructed...again another disappointment. I think one has to pay more for lake view :( The morning buffet was good quality though the spread was displayed along the corridor into the dining room due to space limitation. The Michelin starred Chinese restaurant was good but again not great. We considered taking the boat ride, which my wife did on her first stay but the price put me off. Having instead taken our simple public boat ride over the main lake, I figured the premium price we would have paid for the hotel boat would be for a nicer boat and enjoying a more exclusive area not opened to the public. After my underwhelming review so far, I would give top marks for the staff service and attention. The manager of the hotel main restaurant was especially helpful giving us good tips about sightseeing options near around the hotel. I would recommend checking out the hotel for the experience in Hangzhou and if you have no budget constraint, book a suite with good lake view.
We just have our first wedding anniversary in years at Four Seasons Hangzhou at Westlake. In fact, we chose the Hangzhou because of the hotel 😊 location and we did not regret our decision. Thanks to Bryan and the KL team at Four Seasons at Kuala Lumpur for his wonderful recommendation! We could not imagine a better way to celebrate and remember our wedding anniversary year. We were greeted with flowers and have a photo taken and framed on our arrival (all within first 10 mins, thanks to Amber Chen). The morning breakfast on the boat, savoring the scenic Westlake and gentle breeze, was a highlight of our trip. The photo shoot within the hotel's scenic compound yielded wonderful memories, and the photos are treasured keepsakes. The food at Jinsha was impeccable and deserved more than 1 Michelin star. But what really hit home was the exceptional service of Gianni Costa (GM) and his team (Amber, Maggie, Rebecca, Clark, Tony etc). The team's dedication to excellence and warm hospitality exceeded our expectations in every way. We were pleasantly surprised when Maggie helped to extend our check out by a couple of hours despite a busy holiday period due to our late flight out. We appreciate the commitment of the team at Westlake to provide us with a memorable experience that would stay for us for many years to come.
The hotel is beautiful and the whole team is just amazing. Thank you to Lucy for this magical moment. We will come back!
One of the best hotels in China! We definitely will return.
Absolutely beautiful !
Beautiful building and grounds. Amazing service.
Beautiful but big . The staffs are friendly , helpful !
The signage is not good enough , easy to lose the way in the building !
standard
Excellent service. I am a regular
Pros: 1. Room quality. The rooms had ample space, comfortable beds and sofas, a desk, and a decent bathroom. 2. Sleep quality. There was a wide range of pillows and quilts to choose from. 3. Food. The best restaurant was a Michelin 1-star restaurant featuring classic Hangzhou food and some Italian food, too. 4. Service. The waiters and waitresses maintained a good attitude towards us. 5. Atmosphere. Oks: 1. Value.
