Azoris Faial Garden – Resort Hotel

The breakfast was nice.

The check-in process was absolutely ridiculous. The staff were extremely adamant that every single person in our group provide identification, even though one individual did not have any ID with them. To make matters worse, they gave us a hard time when three members of our group provided valid California driver’s licenses. Despite having legitimate government-issued identification, they insisted that we provide passports instead. Which we didn’t have. I’ve stayed at other hotels on Faial, and the check-in process was quick, easy, and hassle-free. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. Based on this experience, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

De ligging is perfect

Oude glorie, veel verouderd en zichtbaar verval. Donkere gangen, klemmende deuren, versleten laminaat, vochtvlekken etc

Os quartos são bons e os funcionários simpáticos e atenciosos

O pequeno almoço deixa a desejar. A sua qualidade não está de acordo com a qualidade do alojamento. Máquina de café avariada. Só uma funcionava para servir os hóspedes todos. O que ficava em falta demorava muito a ser reposto.

Lage ist optimal, Pool ist okay.

Der Service war teilweise mäßig zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Außerdem hat es aus der Klimaanlage oft richtig gestunken. Beim Frühstück wurde oft nicht nachgefüllt.

Very good location to explore the city and island. Parking opportunities while located in the city.

Breakfast was OK, but organization came across a bit chaotic at busy moments. Rooms are OK but not very modern.

Las habitaciones tienen unos enchufes mal combinados y que permutan sin sentido. Se apaga uno y se desconectan los enchufes de un lado de la cama... Falta de renovación del sistema eléctrico.

Mieliśmy pokój z najpiękniejszym widokiem - na Pico, ale nie każdy pokój w tym olbrzymim kompleksie może mieć taki widok. Pokój duży , wygodny. Miły i pomocny personel, mogliśmy wcześniej zameldować się i zostawić bagaż.

Trochę mała sala śniadaniowa jak na tę ilość gości.

Die Lage und die Außenanlagen

Das Zimmer war schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen und es hat sehr muffig gerochen. Das Frühstück war mäßig und das Personal war auch nicht so bemüht und freundlich, im Vergleich zu den anderen Hotels auf den Azoren.

Un resort gran i preciós, davant del port de Horta i amb vistes a Pico. L’hotel te tota els serveis i està molt ben equipat, les habitacions son molt còmodes i amplies i l’esmorzar es excel·lent

Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick über den Yachthafen zum Vulkan Pico. Es gibt einen schönen Infinity Pool, das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Die Lage ist sehr zentral, zur Promenade am Peter Cafe Sport führt eine Treppe hinab.

Der Preis war mit 185 € pro Nacht relativ happig.

Préservatif au milieu du couloir en pleine journée. Accueuil tout juste aimable. Desserte avec poubelle au milieu de la salle pendant le petit-déjeuner. C'était sans doute un endroit superbe il y a 40 ans.

A perfect home base for a few nights in Horta! The hotel was clean, quiet, and safe, and located just steps from the town centre. The breakfast bar was fantastic, giving us an opportunity to fuel up for the day and try local pasties, cheese, and more. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had two rooms and in one of them the air conditioning seemed to only work partially.

Die Lage ist super. Direkt in Horta aber doch sehr ruhig. Poolbereich war schön hergerichtet, mit einer kleinen Poolbar, die sogar eine vegane Speise hatte. Staff war sehr freundlich

Zimmer und Hotel sind schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Alte Armaturen im Bad. Spiegel war bereits angerostet. Zimmer und Bad waren zwar gereinigt allerdings war in den Fugen bei der Badewanne bereits schwarzer Schmutz, der nicht mehr wegzubekommen war anscheinend. Generell für Preis und 4-Sterne etwas dürftig.

Tolle Lage, Poolanlage

In die Jahre gekommenes Hotel- Badezimmer müssten renoviert werden- dort auch immer schlechter Geruch. Schwimmbad sehr chlorhaltig. Frühstücksbüffet nicht sehr ansprechend.

Não gostei de ter pago dois quartos na primeira noite. Não gostei do atendimento no check in. Não gostei de só ter toalhas para uma pessoa, num dos quartos. Não gostei das casas de banho, por serem antigas e com banheira. Não gostei da última limpeza do quarto, com camas extremamente mal feitas, sem reposição das bolachas e a casa de banho tinha um cheiro intenso a lixívia.

O quarto tem um bom tamanho. É um hotel antigo. O banheiro possui banheira com cortina de plástico. Acho complicado para pessoas de mais idade ou que tenham alguma dificuldade de locomoção. O secador é bem fraco, muito antigo.

Não gostei do banheiro. Como disse anteriormente, a banheira possui cortina de plástico e, por ser banheira, dificulta o acesso para pessoas idosas ou com algum tipo de problemas de locomoção.

El hotel ha tenido tiempos mejores, está bien ubicado pero necesita una reforma. Se supone que la entrada es a las 14 pero estuvimos esperando más de una hora la habitación y porque nos la cambiaron por otra. Falta personal y la limpieza de habitaciones duraba casi hasta la noche

Location especially. The proximity to town is a huge plus. The view from the pool and breakfast room is unsurpassed. The room was very comfortable and clean. The towels were top notch!

The room was big and airy. The facilities looked good but unfortunately we were too busy exploring to make use of them Ample buffett breakfast The communal areas were pleasant and welcoming Bathroom had a bidet. Slippers were provided when we asked for them Nice to have biscuits and water provided in the room

So why the rating of only 6!! Two main reasons 1. We booked a room with a sea view and balcony. Sadly we had one of three rooms facing the sea which had a large concrete wall blocking the view if we actually sat on the balcony. We could see that all rooms to our left and apart from 2 rooms to our right all the rooms facing the sea had clear unobstructed views from their balconies. When we went to reception to ask why we had such a room we were told in a condescending and sarcastic manner that as we could see the sea and the hotel was full and as we were only staying for two nights there was nothing they could do. The room should not have been charged at the same rate as those with an unobstructed view - basically using our balcony was pointless. 2. Whilst we like a firm bed the mattresses were so hard that we might as well have slept on the floor. Hugely disappointing to have two very very uncomfortable nights sleep or rather lack of sleep. More minor points - Beakfast on our second morning seemed chaotic - perhaps ensuring all supplies are kept topped up at all times might help. The carpeting in the corridors and rooms is uninviting. It's probably not that old but when it comes to renewal thought needs to be given to making it brighter and giving it a more luxurious feel. The bath towels were old and frayed at the edges. The hand towels were newer and better quality. Maybe for the facilities the hotel warrants a 4* rating but our experience overall was not what might be expected of a 4* hotel

Friendly hotel with a great location.and pool with a beautiful view.

Breakfast wasn't very organised and created a bit of unnecessary chaos in the morning. This is something that could easily be sorted by acquiring some extra crockery.

Das Personal ist freundlich. Der Aussenpool ist schön. Die Lage ist top.

Das Frühstücksbuffet: Das Essen war OK, aber es fehlte immer an Tassen, Gläsern und Tellern. Müslischalen gab es gar nicht. Man merkte den anderen Gästen auch den Frust darüber an. Im Haus war es recht laut, da die Türen sich nur laut schliessen lassen, zum Teil auch zugeknallt wurden. Bei der Zimmerreinigung wurde der Mülleimer vergessen und die Gläser wurden auch nicht ausgewechselt.

Property is a bit older and could use some modernization. Except for the reception staff and housekeeping, we found this to be the only location on our entire Azoren trip where the staff were not all that friendly. Perhaps because it is a larger hotel with large groups and turnover everyday.

The breakfast menu is excellent and offers a variety of quality food.

I really can’t think of anything that the hotel could have done better. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The swimming pool was a favorite of my children. The location is also ideal.

Het ontbijt. Vooral het personeel tijdens het onbijǰt tussen 9.00 en 10.30. Zeer ongeïnteresseerd. Had duidelijk geen zin i hun werk. Scheurde met grote kar met vuile botden en afval tussen de tafels waar men nog aan het eten was. Duidelijk niet gecoached personeel.

Man merkt das Alter des Hotels und das Renovierungen nötig sind. Dafür sind Service der Mitarbeiter Top und die Sauberkeit ist auch sehr gut. Wir haben es als Flughafen Hotel genutzt und dafür war es super aber würden für längere Aufenthalte etwas anderes buchen.

Room is clean, regular size. The hotel is near the seafront with yacht marina and all the coffee shops. Close to the ferry port. Good breakfast.

The room was dated and our view was poor. The sauna was not working, both pools were cold indoor and outdoor. The communication was poor everything we asked for me had to ask again. The bar inside was rarely open.

Unser Flug wurde wegen Nebel gestrichen. Sind dann aus gleichem Grund noch 2 Tage geblieben. Eigentlich schöner Ausblick. Waren bestens versorgt. Liebe Mitarbeiter. Bequeme Betten. Das Frühstück war auch ganz OK.

4 stelle splendido, totalmente riservato con due piscine, spa, colazione a buffet e camere vista mare. Personale molto gentile, letti comodissimi e camere spaziose. A meno di due minuti dal lungo mare. Consigliato.

L'asciugacapelli è a dir poco datato, nei rubinetti non ci sono i miscelatori ma le due manopole caldo freddo.

The location and view is very good. The staff were nice and the breakfast was ok.

All facilities are very old and outdated. The price does not correspond to the services and facilities provided. We asked to book a taxi and they said we didn't need to do it in advance and then we needed the taxi it wasn't available at the time we needed it. To say that it is compulsory to use a hair cap for the spa only when you check in and then sell it at reception for 3 euros is also a bit of a rip off, given it is a resort. There was no coffee or coffee machine in the room and the hair dryer was very old and weak.

Ich hatte ein schönes Zimmer mit Blick auf den Hafen. Die Räume sind gut isolliert.

Das Personal war stets bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Das Frühstück war wunderbar gut und reichhaltig. Wenn ich nochmals auf die Insel Faial komme, werde ich wieder das gleiche Hotel wählen.

Das Hotel liegt nahe des Hafens und des Dorfes. Alles sehr gut zu Fuss erreichbar. Gratis Parkplätze stehen rund um das Hotel zu Verfügung. Das Frühstück ist vielfältig und gut.

Die Zimmer vorallem in den Pensionen, sind in die Jahre gekommen und könten für ein 4 Sterne Hotel eine Auffrischung gebrauchen.

Durchgelegene Matratzen in manchen Zimmern z. B. Zimmer224, ungeeignete Kaffeemaschine, Teppich im Zimmer war immer feucht (Zimmer 224), Badezimmertüre schließt nur mit Geräusch

Velmi prijemny a napomocny personal. Hotel byl celkově velmi hezky, cisty a dobre umisten.

V ubytovaní byla uz strasi koupelna, nova vana a klika od dveri do koupelny by nebyly na skodu.
