Location
Limited lobby, seating, common space, no restaurant.
Fin beliggenhet. Hyggelig personal i resepsjonen.
Location was perfect. The room was comfortable and spacious. Staff was very kind and helpful. Highly recommended!
Nothing
Perfect location, friendly and efficient staff at the reception. Facilities are modern. comfortable and esthetic. We visited in day day of the king's funeral and the hotel location was perfect to participate.
Breakfast can be a little bit better. It is generous and with a nice variety. A coffee machine will make a difference and also the bread section can improve.
Location, view from the bedroom
The bed could be more comfortable
Very helpful and friendly check-in manager.
The room was lovely. The hotel staff friendly, and the location was great. My only issue was my inability to get hold of anyone at the hotel after I left so I could retrieve my jacket.
My only problem with the hotel is that I left my jacket in my room when I checked out and about an hour after I left I realized as I was driving north to my next hotel - I tried to call the hotel for hours with no answer. I then emailed them and nobody ever answered me … and so I lost my jacket and that was disappointing.
Location is great, the extra large center courtyard ( no view) room was comfortable and clean. The disappointment was the excessive noise level in the evenings. Both nights of our stay the loud base sounds of music were heard through the walls. A big turn off for a better rating.
Hotel was nicely designed, theme and cleanliness. Breakfast was good.
Reception staff was rude. On booking.com it says they have luggage store/room. Reception said, they cannot keep any bags. Rooms had no view. I explicitly requested near rooms as we were staying with kids, rooms were given far. Overall experience was not worth the price. There are far better and cheaper options available nearby. No value for money. had to return to same hotel, but changed my hotel due to non-cooperative staff.
Good breakfast in a comfortable room. Easy to find the food we were looking for.
A lockable room for our baggage before leaving.
Location was excellent. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
Mattress was very thin. Extra charge for bathrobes.
Great location, very good breakfast and comfortable spacious room
No sleep one night due to noisy band in street nearby (until 4 am), inexperienced staff and security not as good as in many other hotels
Hotel in posizione centrale.
This is a 'marmite' hotel (UK expression). You are going to love it or hate it and not want to stay here again. Good things - location, excellent breakfasts with huge varied range of food including for glutenfree, quirky theatrical decor and art, good sized bedroom and comfortable bed. So all the above should be good enough but here is why we won't stay here again if we come to Oslo: I asked the hotel if they could arrange a taxi to pick us up at the pier as we arrived on a cruise boat. For some reason this simple request dragged on for days. I would get answers from different people who had not read the earlier correspondence. I had to keep repeating myself in my emails. The reason for this is because there are so many different people on reception every day. We hardly saw the same person twice during the four days we were at the hotel. So the handover is not as good as it needs to be. When we arrived the receptionist said the hotel was full. There are more than 100 rooms apparently and there was no one to help with baggage. We are seniors with two large cases because of the cruise and there was no one to help us negotiate 5 steps to a corridor on the fifth floor where our room was. There is another complicated way to reach the room when you are not able to carry 23 kg baggage up and down steps but the receptionist did not share that info and we only discovered it when a helpful passing cleaner told us. We made a mistake when trying to close the safe and it doesn't reset. You have to ask for help from the maintenance man. Another receptionist was working that evening and was too busy to answer our phone calls. By the time we went downstairs to ask for her help, the maintenace man had gone home. In any event the safe is not attached to the wall in the room which means its not that secure. The next night we came back to the hotel around 7.30 and there was no one on reception. The hotel has a pizza restaurant which is open to the public and with so many different receptionists, the hotel didn't generally feel very secure - if that is important to you. I had requested a quiet room on my original booking form and again in correspondence. We arrived on a Saturday and there was loud music in the evening. I asked the receptionist how long it would last and she said it would end at 10. It did - for an hour - and then carried on until about 4 am. The drummer was probably very good but was very very loud and I had requested a quiet room and lost a night's sleep. We asked if we could have a late check out because we had a late flight. The hotel offered us two hours - from 11 to 1 at a price of 20 NK. (We didn't take up the offer). When we left we asked the hotel to book us a taxi to the airport which they did. They said the airport was 35 - 40 minutes away. But this didn't allow for the rush hour and it actually took us an hour and 15 minutes to get there. Luckily we had allowed plenty of time but not every can do that. The receptionists - there were so many - but for the most part only one on the reception desk at a time - were generally trying to be helpful but we did not find them experienced or well-trained. Each of the mattes listed above are only tiny things. But there were too many of them and for that reason we would not recommend this hotel to anyone we know.
Rien.
Tá najlepšia lokalita v centre mesta, v blízkosti mnohých pamiatok a miest hodných navštívenia, bohaté a chutné raňajky, štýlové a vkusné zariadenia hotela.
Fint rom, god frokost,
Trang resepsjon. Prisen.
Charming and fun space with a lovely cheerful staff and an excellent breakfast and super location to walk to all of the highlights
One day we opted out of room cleaning but next day we did t and no one cleaned our room. ??
Location, tasty breakfast but not much to choose from if staying longer than 2 nights.
Wi-Fi did not work in our room, had to go to the corridor. Blocked windows - no fresh air. Breakfast area is too small, between 8-10am one had to wait for someone to finish breakfast to take his table. Somewhat noisy on Friday and Saturday. Had to ask for tea refill at the reception, room service didn't make it to our room.
Room was well decorated and bed super comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast each day was delicious and everything freshly provided. Hotel is in a perfect location. They still have the original lift, so be prepared to use the stays or have some long waits!
Loved it all. Takk.
Fantastic hotel. Location perfect and very friendly staff. Great rooms, and excellent design.
Great breakfast and helpful staff
This beautiful little boutique hotel in the heart of Oslo is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the city. It’s close to everything and looks out over a beautiful park and it close to the station and all the main attractions in Oslo. We enjoyed our stay very much and the desk clerks Alisa and Sunniva we’re very helpful and professional. The manager greeted our group and was kind enough to provide me with the diet soda after arriving at the hotel. We are enjoyed our stay very much and the rooms are as beautiful as the hotel itself. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who would like to enjoy and see all that also has to offer.

Central Location, generous size of room and very light, breakfast and staff service and friendliness,
The lift - wasn't only slow but would skip floors if you were waiting for it from say the breakfast room. Long waits for it. We were okay on six floors of stairs but I don't know how older people would manage. Our room 625 also has structural noise that comes and goes regularly all day - probably a water hammer - - it sounds like furniture dragging across the floor and then tapping - again got used To it but it was one of the most expensive rooms on our holiday so you expect a very high level of comfort. The Ac is preset and the room was overly warm - the windows open only a centimetre.
super convenient if you take the Flytoget from the Oslo airport -- get off at the Nationalteater shop and walk 2 blocks to the hotel. The staff is very friendly. nice quiet room overlooking the park. very convenient location to walk around downtown or catch the bus to the Fram Museum. The hotel restaurant only serves pizza, but many other restaurants are nearby.
First time in Oslo , hotel easily accessible by train direct from airport then just 3 minute walk from station. Team members on reception absolutely charming and very helpful with great recomendations . Room perfect , bathroom spotless and in a very quiet position as requested . Great breakfast , great bar.
We lived in the renovated part of the hotel, which had nice look and smelt of pine wood. Breakfast was not very diverse, but tasty. Very friendly staff.
Awfully noisy because of some African celebration in the park throughout the week of our stay and our suite did not even face park side. Very dusty rooms with little to no vacuum cleaning during 5-day stay! In there room were no water bottles, no spoons, no plates, no slippers. Extremely soft beds. One day forgot to change towels, had to go to main reception to ask for some, as on the phone there is no guidance how to reach out to reception or other staff at the hotel.
We stayed here on our first night in Norway. The bed was super comfortable, shower magnificent, our room and the hotel just beautiful- I love the artworks and location was fabulous for a first exploration! I would definitely stay here again
The location was amazing and the breakfast very good
There was a bad smell in the bathroom and the towels were thin and worn
Fantastic staff, who move quickly to complete any request. Very knowledgeable and willing to share to help you get the best experience in Oslo. Rooms are very comfortable and have an artistic flavour. All round great experience
Suite and bathroom within were spacious; superb location in the city center; inhouse restaurant does very nice pizza with lovely staff.
Breakfast buffet was VERY cramped; sofa bed was very uncomfortable (you could feel the mattress springs); elevator very slow (they acknowledge it with a cutesy poster, but it's still very slow).
Highly recommend. Excellent location and it was akin to staying in an art gallery with so many paintings and sculptures on display. Well appointed room and welcoming staff.
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Christiania Teater in Oslo. Everything exceeded my expectations. The hotel was spotless, the rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. What truly made the experience special was the outstanding service. A special thank you to Hendrik and Lone at the reception for their warm welcome, professionalism, and genuine kindness. They made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Oslo, and I will definitely stay here again every time I visit the city.
Room We stayed in a Deluxe Room during this visit. The room was spacious, clean and quiet, overlooking the hotel’s inner courtyard. The bathroom, however, felt a little small compared to the size of the room. It was divided into two areas, and the vanity section was quite dark with no option for additional lighting. Facilities The room included a Nespresso machine, a selection of Palais des Thés teas, a minibar (available at an additional cost), and bathroom amenities including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. Breakfast Breakfast offers a good selection of food. We especially appreciated the freshly made coffee available on request, as well as the smoked salmon and Danish rye bread. Service What sets this hotel apart is the service. From check-in to check-out, every member of staff we met was welcoming, friendly and professional. We also appreciated the handwritten welcome note waiting in our room, which was a thoughtful touch. After check-out, we used the luggage storage while spending the rest of the day in Oslo, which was very convenient. Location The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Oslo. Trains, trams, buses and the metro are all just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city or travel to and from the airport. Design The hotel has a distinctive character, with artwork and sculptures displayed throughout the property. The rooms are stylishly decorated, and details such as the lighting and artwork create a unique atmosphere. We stayed on the fifth floor and enjoyed taking the stairs, giving us the chance to appreciate the interesting collection along the way. Overall Christiania Teater is a comfortable, centrally located hotel with attentive service, thoughtful details and a very good breakfast. For a future stay, we would probably choose a room overlooking Spikersuppa, as we preferred both the view and the overall room layout.
Perfect location. Excellent hotel name ( prior to being named Oslo, the city was called Christiania ) and a good nod to the past. Breakfast was Norwegian and excellent. Great coffee. I have been visiting Oslo for much of my life and this hotel has always been a feature.
Nil.
I had high hopes based on the photos however the entire experience was a huge disappointment. Summary: - rude and incredibly unhelpful staff - a single lift that takes forever - lift from second floor will only take you down and not up to your room - the rooms are dark - common area floors are filthy - no management on site - no rubbish bin in the room - no room service - no mattress protector - drinking glasses left in the bathroom - gross! While the photos make it look nice, it's actually very dark inside and the floors of the common area are filthy. Aside from the young girl who greeted me upon checkin, the service was appalling. I was in the lobby having a drink with a friend and there was no staff around except for the person at the downstairs bar and reception so I asked reception which was closer, if she could please come and remove the previous client's dirty glasses so we could enjoy the space. I also didn't want to go back down to the bar and ask the staff member there as he was also super unfriendly. She refused and said that someone from upstairs would be down at some point to do it. I knew by this stage that upstairs had nothing to do with this as it was a separate restaurant so I had to insist. If anything, I would have thought the bar were responsible for tidying up the space of glasses. She made sure she let me know that she was not at all happy at my insistence that she sort out the dirty glasses from the coffee table. I was shocked at this appalling response to a simple client request. Later in the evening I asked her if she could please put my freezer blocks (to keep medicine cool) into the freezer. Again she refused and told me I had to go upstairs to the restaurant. I said that it was her job to assist customers and she said it wasn't her job and that as the restaurant was a separate owner and NOT part of the hotel, that I would have to do it myself. Shocked yet again. She made it known quite strongly that the bar and separate restaurant were not part of the hotel and so she was unable to assist with anything to do with those areas. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing and her stubborn refusal to help me out. Breakfast was another debacle with an incredibly rude staff member who refused to listen to me when I was trying to ask if I could get a late. I first asked him if he could please clean my table from the previous clients whereby he waved me away and I was left standing, not knowing what was going on, while he walked off letting me know that he was not happy I had asked him to do that job and as if it was beneath him. I stood around waiting for an extended period of time while he sorted out the table so I could finally also ask him my second question, to which he again just walked off and I had to raise my voice and ask "am I supposed to follow you?" to which he replied yes. Seriously? He knew which table I was going to be sitting at - he could have made the late and brought it to me. He made me stand by his side and wait for my coffee. By this stage I was disgusted at the treatment I had received from him and the girl from the previous evening. I would recommend avoiding this hotel to anyone until they get their staffing right and sort out their discombobulated arrangement with the bar and restaurant. Room service - there is none BUT you can oder direct from the restaurant and they will deliver to your room. The only place that offered actual service. The veggie pizza was absolutely delicious and the ice-cream divine and home made. I was so incredibly impressed at the quality of seemingly simple fare which they had turned into something mouth watering and seriously delicious. They were also incredibly helpful and lovely when I needed to sort out my freezer items. These guys get the 5 star review for their service and food :) The two stars are for the room and restaurant only and reflect the shocking service and the poor cleanliness of the hotel overall.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay at the Christiania Teater Hotel in Oslo. The hotel is beautiful, elegant, and perfectly located for exploring the city. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and made our vacation even more enjoyable. A special thank you to Hendrik and the entire staff for their outstanding hospitality. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Their professionalism and genuine friendliness made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Thank you for making our stay in Oslo so special. We will always remember your kindness and hope to return again in the future. Highly recommended!
Excellent breakfast, much choice, typically Norwegian.
In-house restaurant, under separate management, had pizza only option for evening meal, albeit red and white styles.
This hotel was very comfortable in an excellent location. Very close to everything I wanted to go see. The room was nice and the staff was very helpful. It was particularly hot in Oslo during my time there and even though I had an air fan, it was still uncomfortably warm in my room. The young man at the front desk brought me up a different air fan which worked MUCH better and solved the issue. I also really appreciated all the art in the stairway!
Great hotel. Service at the front desk superb (think it was Luna) - couldn’t have been more helpful & recommended a great sandwich/bakery place. Breakfast excellent with everything you could possibly want. Room lovely, air conditioning a life saver in 30 degree Oslo. It’s also very central, so well placed for all the sights
Localização do hotel
Muito carpete, quartos escuros e muito pequenos. Limpeza regular
With a great central location within walking distance of both the harbour, the Royal Palace and main shopping area, Hotel Christiania Teater is a great place to stay. From the very warm welcome to the well appointed bedroom, the hotel exceeded our high expectations. In particular, the breakfast was extensive and of a high quality. We also had two evening meals at the hotel’s up market pizza restaurant. We can highly recommend this. Particular mention to Mathildes who provided such a warm welcome and good advice on getting to know the city. We will return!
Convenient location. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast
No smart TV in the room
Service, gjennomtenkt og smakfull innredning, beliggenhet og rom i Behind the curtain.
Ingen ting
Great location at walking distance from the sea side & plenty of restaurants. Apart from that, it’s an old hotel, with outdated rooms (except bathrooms that are well renovated). No smartTV (chromecast). Lightings are awkward. Wifi is working well & breakfast is good.
Excellent centrally located hotel near the National Theatre, Karl Johans Gate and the City Hall and just a few minutes walk from the Airport Express train station. The rooms were comfortable with interesting decor and the breakfast was very good. The highlight of the hotel though was the excellent staff and particularly Lone, one of the receptionists, who made a stressful experience much easier, finding us a room for an additional night when our flight home was cancelled at short notice
The hotel is very pretty, perfect location, you can walk to the train station. the opera, the main street, the river, the parks. Breakfast was delicious. the room did not reflect the rooms advertise on their website. A bit dissapointing
My husband and I stayed only two nights before traveling north, but we would happily return! Mathilde at the front desk welcomed us warmly and was a great help whenever we needed assistance with travel logistics or local recommendations. The breakfast included with the stay was excellent—a huge spread. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. But perhaps most importantly, the hotel’s location makes getting anywhere in Oslo very easy, whether on foot, bus, tram, or metro—while taking in a more historical part of the city center.
Very clean efficient hotel with restraunts nearby and a short walk to the palace. We enjoyed our stay! Great breakfast.
Really great hotel, helpful and friendly staff, fantastic location and really great breakfast buffet.
This is a very eclectic and interesting hotel. My room was spacious and with everything I needed. The front desk persons were lovely and very helpful, breakfast was excellent and included fresh squeezed orange juice and any form of coffee drink available. Their gelato was excellent as well. There is an old, working theater behind the bar which I unfortunately was not able to enjoy, but I'm guessing it was charming. The gym they use is a bit of a walk in a different location, but well worth the effort.
Breakfast, location, decy
I was given a room that was not like the advertised. Disappointing
Beautiful hotel with class and great location. Staff very kind and helpful. Jura coffee is a plus!!!
The location and a very comfy mattress
Small room, basically decorated, not as expected as shown in the photos which show much more individual decor and generous rooms.
A gem of a hotel. In the center of things with very pleasant front desk staff, knowledgeable and friendly, delicious and satisfying breakfast and coffee at the ready. The beds are very comfortable and the room was extremely clean. Thanks for a wonderful stay! We would definitely return.
When we checked in, we met Mathilde, who was very kind and helped us by suggesting a few places in Oslo to visit based on our interests. During our stay, we also ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel which was very good. The rooms were also exceptional and very comfortable. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated a friendly face at the front desk each time we entered and left the hotel. Thank you Mathilde!
Spacious and vomgortable room. E crlldnt location
Restaurant limited menu
Beautifully appointed hotel with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great location.
The hotel is incredible. Very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is amazing and so good. What most impressed us was how helpful the hotel staff was.
