Friendly and welcoming staff.. Good food, attractive grounds. Bathrobe provided. Coffee and a cafetière on the tray in the bedroom. The building is interesting.

Dinner was very good.
At breakfast my wife's bacon was very hard and my poached egg was underdone
I really liked everything about this place. It was beautifully appointed, the grounds and river were wonderful to walk my dog and the food, family and staff were all friendly and welcoming. A treat!
Beautiful hotel. Booked the stay for my son and his girlfriend to break up their journey from Perthshire to Derbyshire. The hosts were warm friendly and helpful on the phone and when they arrived. They had a lovely stay and breakfast.
Nothing.
The food was very good, we had breakfast twice and dinner once. The staff were friendly and helpful. The view of the river from our room was especially enjoyable.
Everything. Relaxed, comfortable and friendly. Felt like you were at a weekend House Party.
Fab location, very friendly welcome, good food.
Really quirky place. Huge room and bath, fantastic breakfast, good dinner in house, honesty bar. Wonderful grounds for a walk, possibility to fish on the river. Fly fishing lessons can be arranged and were great fun!
I like the old world feeling.
TV did not work
De uitbaters waren heel flexibel en begripvol om ons (zonder meerprijs!!!) een gelijkvloerse studio aan te bieden aangezien ik die dag mijn voet verzwikte🙏

Everything. Amazing building and location was stunning. Staff and owners could not have been more helpful and friendly.
Nothing.
Excellent location for walking in the grounds - felt safe and enjoyed getting out in beautiful surrounds. Ate in and the food was excellent. The manor is also full of character
The property was in an excellent location set in beautiful surroundings. It was well maintained and had excellent facilities. It was very peaceful and idyllic. The staff were very friendly and our room was very spacious with a very large en-suite bathroom. The food was excellent.
There was no restaurant on the Sunday night but we were aware of this from the website. However the staff were very helpful in directing us to local restaurants within 1 or 2 miles of the hotel.
Stunning situation and a beautiful building, it is rather like being at a superior house party. Sadly they don't do dinner on Sunday or Monday but there is a decent pub nearby
Just disappointed we weren't warned there was no dinner available the night we had booked
Unieke zeer rustige locatie, mogelijk is de tijd wat blijven stilstaan maar daar licht net de charme
geen laadpaal
It’s location Spacious grounds to walk around after the drive
We had to leave our building to go to the restaurant
Beautiful rooms and location
Nothing
The location, staff and food were all excellent.
Beautiful location, decor, food and overall ambience.
Nothing!
The location is amazing and the place is lovely, the walled garden provided enough interest for me and my dog. I loved the peach tree from the green house.
The room was noisy, right next to the kitchen.. there were plenty of noises from outside, when other people were arriving, or before dinner time or just generally... the most quiet day was by far Sunday.. when the lady owner tried to enter my room in the afternoon while I was having some rest (house cleaning is done daily in the morning it seems so no reason to disturb me in the afternoon, right)... oh, and all the talk about not locking the room during the day.. just creepy. Overall it is overpriced for the provided comfort but I guess the location and being holiday season justify it.
Breakfast5 Stars , can’t wait to return
Beautifully situated in front of the river and surrounded by well tended gardens and woodland, lovely for walking the dog. Whoever is taking care of the flower beds and pots is doing a tremendous job. It’s very peaceful, the food is excellent and the staff helpful and kind.
Beautiful private home in peaceful surroundings
Wir haben zum zweiten Mal auf der Reise nach Schottland hier Station gemacht. Wie immer eine besondere Atmosphäre. Hervorragende Lage. Sehr ruhig.
The location was beautiful. Gardens were stunning. Peaceful and quiet. Taxis are very tricky in that area and expensive, plan and book way ahead of time. Breakfast was good. Property is cold bring jumpers.
Room has so many cobwebs, weird to have a bathtub in the middle of a twin room (i.e. sharing with a friend not partner) but water was freezing so taking a bath was abandoned. Shower was hot and nice. Very outdated. But beds were so comfortable, heated blanket and pillows very lovely. Appreciated good coffee in the room.
Location was awesome. We really enjoyed sitting on the back patio in the evening by the river and watching the birds. Room was clean, bathroom was huge. Bed was comfortable. The little library of books in the room was fun, I've never stayed anywhere that had shelves of books in the room, made it feel more homey. Breakfast was very good and the staff were so sweet and helpful. Loved chatting with them. On our way out we got several recommendations of places to go see, which was really nice.
What a gem
This is a wonderful gem of a hotel more akin to staying in someone’s country estate. The view from our bedroom was simply magnificent and the grounds are glorious. A perfect place to break a journey North and I shall return.
Everything was as it should be. There was nothing we didn’t like.
Wow! An amazing escape to a country mention. What a beautiful house in amazing grounds. Staff were welcoming and good was excellent. Was sad to leave. The walled garden is a must visit, as is the river walk.
It was perfect!
Amazing location by river.
Lovely accomodation. We stayed in the River Suite. It was like taking a step back in time. Very laid back, an honesty box for the bar and we were free to roam the substantial grounds with our dog. Breakfast was really good with a choice of dishes and freshly brewed coffee. Our accomodation could also be used for self catering as there was a small kitchen with fridge freezer, microwave, cooker, kettle and toaster and we also had our own entrance which was useful with our dog. Bed was a queen size and really comfortable. Log fire for colder weather. Warwick Hall is very dog friendly and there are two very friendly resident dogs wandering around. It is a good base to explore the area.
The River Suite could potentially get very hot in a heatwave as it has very large windows. If you dont like dogs just be aware that the resident dogs do wander around freely.
Just a lovely situation and very comfortable
Not seeing an otter !!!!!
Lovely stop over on way back from Scotland Food excellent and love walks, recommend the walled garden to explore
Fab location. Close to Carlisle but such a beautiful and peaceful setting. Staff were great and very helpful. Breakfast was quite good but the rooms were spacious, clean and very well appointed. We didn't have a dog, but the hotel caters for guests with pets. Nice walks around the hotel.
Nothing.
The location is incredible. If you love a rural setting with an abundance of flora and fauna this is the place for you. The house its self is a gorgeous, grand old dame with period features galore. The owners/manager are quirky and friendly. Top quality ingredients used for breakfast (we didn’t stay for the evening meals)
With all old buildings the walls are very thin so I can imagine there could be an issue with noise from neighbouring rooms… luckily it was very quiet when we stayed, apart from some late night plumbing from the room next door!
A delightful place to stay. Despite the heat wave we managed to have two very relaxing nights in “Sarah’s Room”. The extra large double bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts and evening meal were particularly good.
We requested a room with river / Mountain View but were given a ‘garden suite’. - which had a view of the car park and was adjacent to the kitchen and opposite the kitchen store. Sweltering hot until late evening, noisy during restaurant hours and deliveries
Breakfast was very good, garden suite well appointed, grounds peaceful. NB please swap likes / dislikes
Beautiful location and very relaxed approach. Hosts were great, and the room really nice.
Fantastic position and delightfully quirky place to stay. Very dog friendly although should you not enjoy having them around it could be off putting. A very enjoyable and memorable overnight stay on route to Scotland.
There was nothing we would dislike or change.
Superb location and delightful lounge. Food excellent
Staff not as welcoming as should be expected. No offer made to help with our luggage. Our room accessible only by going outside the building and re- entering - unsatisfactory. Room satisfactory but not of a standard I would have expected in a hotel of this class - unguarded light in the bathroom, no fresh milk, no nespresso machine
Prachtige locatie. Neem ook vooral een maaltijd! Heerlijk!
Stunning location. And tranquil setting.
Beautiful location and dog friendly.great view from room.Good food except the rice pudding
Being woken up at 6.30 am with slamming doors and radio news from the kitchen below.Shower blocked and overflowed into the bathroom-was offered a free drink for this which I accepted and then got charged for it on the bill
Stunning location. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff.
The property was very well situated for exploring Hadrian‘s Wall and Carlisle and had delightful grounds. Our room was comfortable with lovely views. We thought the menus gave a wide choice and the food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
A minor quibble was that we had to leave the main building and go outside to get to our bedroom.
It was really and truly dog friendly, not just a place which allowed dogs in the room - with a whole sets of rules stating no dogs on the furniture, nor in the communal areas, nor in the breakfast area, etc, etc. My dog was allowed wherever I was allowed to go and that was fantastic! So many thanks Warwick Hall. They had thoughtfully provided blankets to cover chairs and towels for muddy paws. It was also in a beautiful location with a great riverside walk on their grounds.
Beautiful location,clean,good food,friendly staff
Genuine country house relaxed feel and a stunning setting
The location is perfect for exploring Hadrian's Wall. The grounds are magnificent. The house is a beautiful old English country manor.
There was no helipad.
Unique and beautiful house and location. The host are great, very welcoming and generous.
Beautiful, beautiful grounds, very dog friendly and it was just lovely. And the food was superb.
Bathrooms a bit tired, but everything else was great.
Loved the location and it has a delightful family atmosphere. The riverside walk was wonderful and drinks on the terrace in the evening sunshine was a real treat.
Very little. I wished we could stay longer!
Just amazing, the best way to celebrate a special event. Attentive staff, FABULOUS chef, and just gorgeous setting. Honesty bar, we wined and dined like lords!
Nothing
The food served for dinner and breakfast was excellent as was the service. The style and atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. We enjoyed a post prandial walk along the river
The side room in our suite was a bit hot, suspect a temperamental radiator
On any travel to Scotland I will use this hotel on the way, absolutely delightful, stunning scenery and location, huge comfortable room, quality breakfast and lovely service. Also dog friendly which is good to know for the future. It was very very good value for money
It was perfect
Warm welcome and delicious food
Location Honesty bar - leads to lovely house parties

It was like staying in a stately home and the garden was beautiful. For a B&B, the environment was unique and I would definitely go again

Wonderful gardens and beautiful river walks in the 250acre grounds. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly . Great breakfast and dinner
Nothing
La ubicación junto a un río y el paseo por la ribera.
It is a very comfortable country house within beautiful ancient grounds set on the bank of a beautiful river. There are wonderful lawns and gardens in which to relax. A lovely lounge with a top notch honors bar for before diner drinks. Lovely gardens and an amazing walled garden.
Nothing at all. I could easily simply move in and stay. It was that comfortable.
Wonderful location and grounds
Wonderful location . Excellent for dog owners and dogs. Comfortable rooms.
Dinner was ok .
Beautiful room, beautiful setting
Great location. Very comfortable. Nice breakfast. Very well equipped for staying with a dog; lots of dog towels, bowls and perfect for walks.
Nothing!
We visited this place after Easter which is the best time for wheather and flowers. The location is perfect view with the river. Stay in the 9th room if you like the morning river view . Breakfast is awesome 👌 👏
Essen zu teuer und nicht schmackhaft.
Beautiful walk along the river. Great breakfast. Welcoming sitting room with honesty bar. Wood burning stove already laid. Relaxed, home from home, with a great pub near by for supper.
Incredible food! All seems locally sourced
We only stayed for the one night but we had a lovely evening meal and breakfast and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We didn't have pets with us but the owners own dogs were there much to the delight of us all especially the children. The dogs were lovely. Our family had a number of rooms which were all quite different from one another and all of them beautiful and the baths and showers were amazing. I wish we'd had more time to explore the grounds as what we managed to see was stunning. A truly wonderful experience and on a further wee note it was lovely to be trusted with an excellent honesty bar. Thank you.
We did have to go outside and in another door to get to the dining room and communal room but it wasn't a big deal and the owner did say if we had to go from one side of the hotel to the other at night we could go through the kitchen which was very kind. There are also a lot of stairs which my wee Granddaughter seemed to enjoy and they were fine for everyone who was reasonably healthy but my Mother did struggle with a bit. The stairs did add to the charm of the building but is something that customers should be aware of. I couldn't fault the service though and the place is just gorgeous.
The food was excellent. The gardens and grounds were fantastic for walking especially with our dog. The rooms are large and very comfortable
Nothing
Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, but we didnt have dinner as it was Sunday night. The staff (owner) recommended a local pub/restaurant, which was also very good.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely home, warm hosts, an exceptional stay
Choice of breakfast was excellent, and the food was too. Dinner was superb, in lovely setting and I didn’t realize how much I needed that break until I was there. I felt truly relaxed
Nothing, staff and owners are excellent. Suite was lovely, clean and complimentary coffee and tea choices were wonderful.
calm peaceful setting . good walks from the door very comfortable staff unobtrusive but helpful food good with veg & gluten free options all cooked fresh to order
having to go outside to get from the bedroom to the dining or drawing room tricky if its raining
Dog friendly, fantastically comfortable bed and great food
A little tired and limited bar offer
Beautiful peaceful location, we had the Birdies suite which was lovely and spacious. Comfy bed and the bed linen was luxurious. Would definitely stay here again. Staff were attentive and the food was good no
The shower was hard to adjust to get the temperature constant but a minor gripe
really lovely friendy people, with local food - great
The bedding was luxurious.
The whole place was a little dated and needs a good spruce up.
Beautiful location and grounds. Real family experience. Wonderful hospitality.
Room was large clean and comfortable, slightly eccentric hotel? to be welcomed by a pointer and Labrador was unexpected but if you like dogs you will love this place. Unfortunately we had a meeting in Carlisle so couldn't make use of the facilities more.
I was in room 9 and wifi was a problem my colleague was next door and had no problems?? to be fair i never reported the problem I am sure if I had it would have been sorted.
The price, it really should cost twice as much as it does for this quality room
Nothing
Lovely setting
My room was amazing and the bathroom huge with a wonderful view. The staff/owners were really helpful and nowhere was out of bounds to me with my little dog. There were fabulous walks along the river and the food was superb.
A very small thing - I'd luckily got a business persons deal as I was travelling alone. Sadly I wouldn't have been able to afford to stay if not.
Fabulous location and staff, it feels like staying in a National Trust property and it’s frankly great value!
