It smelt of Garlic in room
Does the job for a short stop-over.

Very convenient
It is a bit dated
Location is fantastic and rooms are clean. Staff are friendly and polite
No restaurant you will have to order breakfast from outside The bed in the room I slept in was uncomfortable. The room also has little space. Ventilation was also poor and the standing fan in the room was of no help at all
Central
Perfectly fine for one night, which was all we needed, after a festival. Had a perfectly good bed (double as part of the family room, which was the one available at the time of booking) and bathroom, which is what we needed. Helpful to have a small car park for guests/those dropping off (remember to enter the number plate). The staff were really helpful.
As part of the family room there is a main room with two twin beds and kitchenette plus table and chairs, then a bathroom off the side, a double room off the side too, and a tiny single bed room. The last one smelled really odd - we kept the door closed and it was fine as we didn't need it but needs sorting out.
Good welcome and care. We've been here before and all we wanted was a place to sleep and shower whiled attending nearby festival, Convenient parking and easy to come and go. Allowed to check in early

The staff were helpful when you found them at the property.
That you couldn't contact the hotel prior to visit as I had an issue that I couldn't do through a websiyr
Very nice staff Very clean nice really nice restful stay good location
Nothing
Lovely bar area. I would say recently updated. Location great. .
The bathroom floor had a huge lump of hair behind the door. When I wiped it up along the floor it really was quite dirty
Staff ok
The hotel was very grubby
Friendly staff. No restaurant but easy access to eateries and excellent croissants at the local co-op. The car park was cramped but we managed.
The room was not serviced.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Extremely polite and professional
Nothing
Did not have one, had to go to a cafe
The coffee,it was awful
We travelled back from the US and arrived a couple of hours before check-in was due. Not only did they let us check-in early but also changed our room to the ground floor as our cases were very heavy.
The staff and location could not be faulted
The room was uncomfortably hot even with the fan working but allowances have to be made because of the extreme weather conditions
The room was freshly painted so bright and airy and there were twin sockets on either side of the beds. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. In the room was a well positioned dressing table near to the mains socket to plug in your hairdryer. There is a small car park, which is a little cramped.
The wifi, although connecting, did not work in Room 11, but was ok in the lobby. Had to ask for towels and there was no bath mat for outside the shower and no hairdryer.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Free parking. Good shower. Very good value for money.
Although there is a big mirror in the bathroom, it would be helpful to have a small mirror in the room. The stair carpet is a little scruffy.
Excellent stay all round

The manager couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent stay. Parking at rear. Room curtains were closed on arrival with the fan on to try and keep it cool on the hottest day of the year. Very thoughtful.

Room had cobwebs in corners , could do with a freshen up paint wise. Could benefit from a mini fridge in the room.
Staff are exceptionally good
The staff were friendly and attentive.
We couldn't switch the bathroom radiator off which wasn't pleasant during warm weather!
Very hot and no a/c
Easy access to centre .
A bit tired.
Nothing really - and I have already emailed this all to booking.com and had no response
Black mould in shower and on shower hose. Had to rinse the black muck off the shower hose to be able to use shower. Room was completely airless. Curtains were not blackout curtains as I had been promised so street lights kept us awake. Mattresses were lumpy with uncomfortable springs poking into one. 2 Colleagues in twin asked for separate keys - not able to supply. One colleague had to wake up the other to access room. WiFi not working in some of the rooms. I would like a full refund as I and my colleagues in the other 4 rooms had virtually no sleep. We ere unable to leave the hotel and move elsewhere as all hotels in the area were full due to the Global Bird Fair on in Rutland that weekend.
We have stayed here twice before so knew what to expect and had one of the two disabled rooms off the car park. The staff were friendly and helpful. No breakfast is served so it was across the road to the Red Lion for breakfast and dinner.
The places needs a bit of TLC to remedy some small faults and some new decoration.
Very friendly, warm staff, couldn't do enough to help us feel welcome and relaxed. Price point was excellent, rooms were clean and our accessible room was very good....although the 5" to 6" drop on the step down into the room caused quite a bad jolt on my poor hip when entering the room - but the staff were very apologetic and extremely helpful when I mentioned it. They even helped to lift my powered wheelchair over the offending step when we left!
The step down into the accessible room when we first entered. (See above)
The staff are nice.
I got bitten by insects at night. The room needs a proper clean. I now have to apply antiseptic cream for seven days until I feel better.
Was under impression because of review that breakfast was available
No daily room vlean or replace tea bags milk etc
Walking distance to town
It was a hot day so the room was quite warm.
Didn’t know breakfast was available but had breakfast in the red lion opposite and it was lovely
It was a bit old and tired and smelled like tobacco even though there weee no smoking signs up
Easy to find, and easy to reach from the main route A14
No breakfast available. A cafe down the road was suggested but turned out to be closed on Sunday anyway
Room and bathroom clean on site parking as well
Good location in the town and good access to motorways..
Location
Tired room Room only
NOTHING
The shower in room 2 was full of black mould. The shower hose was covered in so much black mould that I had to wash it off to use the shower. The curtain did not close properly so we had to sleep with it open with light from the street and a very early dawn. So no sleep at all. We moved to room 10 for the next 4 nights. Basin had a plug that was stuck as there was no plug chain to pull it up - took 2 days for that to be resolved. Room was not serviced. Towels were left in shower, as per instructions on the notice, to be replaced were not replaced and had to be re-used all wet and dirty. Twin room - room 11 - we requested a second key as each person needed their own access . This was not available so the person already asleep had to be woken up for second person to get into the room
Friendly staff
Didn't do food
La propreté
Lit trop mou et moquette au sol
This was OK for an overnight stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee facilities were available in the room, The room was secure and the shower was decent but in a very small space. The location was good for a couple of nearby restaurants. I thought that the price I paid was fair. I was able to park in the small car park next to the hotel.
I chose this hotel because others in the region seemed to be rather expensive. My single room was small, the shower and the loo were in a very small space. Because of the size of the room, I would not stay here for more than one night,
Alles was redelijk acceptabel, geen grote luxe, maar verzorgd
Een van ons sliep in een soort bezemhok onder t dak, niet echt te doen
this is a basic cheap older property, but with everything necessary for a short stay and friendly staff
bedroom very hot from heatwave, a large fan was supplied to at least circulate the air. parking limited on site, but huge free parking just down the street
Staff was really kind and helpful.
Maintenance of hotel, cleanliness of the main corridor and our bathroom, super narrow space between beds and yable with kettle (wouldn't recommend to guest with child), dirty window, questionable content of a shampoo bottle.
Easy to find, room was clean with all facilities needed.
Unable to open blind for window as broken, temperature of room too hot (not their fault due to weather) but a fan was in room.
nothing
everything. Too dirty to even exist
Good location, basic hotel, tight carpark
Carpark
Beds were comfortable
En-suite was very narrow. Window only opened small amount so room very hot & stifling. Stairwells & rooms appeared grubby and outdated.
Bedroom clean. Clea sheets.
Bedroom 3rd floor, difficult after major op ! Bar unused for some time ! No white wine. One bottle of red looked opened for some time ! Of all beer taps , only one working. Tasted like pipes hadn't been cleaned for some time !! No evening entertainment as advertised. No one around to help with bags in morning , No food on site , not even crisps , despite frontage claiming hotel and restaurant !!! Not a good experience !!
Open house we had takeaway staff let us eat in the bar most excellent
The room was clean. All we needed was a bed for one night as we travelled through.
The outside wall clearly states hotel and restaurant. But there was no food available on the premises. The bar had 5 beer taps , of which only one was operational and lager tasted like it had been in pipes for some time. No white wine, only a quarter bottle of opened red, which looked like it had been opened for some days. They advertised evening entertainment, but there was no evidence of that ! Arrived back at 10 pm for a night drink but bar all locked up and no one around. All in all very disappointed, the photos and reviews give a totally distorted view of this hotel. .
I was told you did not do breakfast by reception
Stains on wall near bed
Right in the middle of town. The room was clean and the staff helpful
The room was a bit small
Single room was small but adequate for my (one night) needs , bed was comfortable and bedding was clean, shower room was very small and a bit difficult to use. The room appeared to have been repainted and looked smart and clean.
the tight shower room
A fan in the room was a present surprise. Plenty of teas/coffee and milk. Nice helpful staff. Comfortable and quiet room
For the price there was nothing I didn't like
Great value, an excellent location. Free parking on square and at property.
It was a little tired but for the price it was to be expected
It was clean & comfortable, nice location in Rothwell which is a nice small market town. It was central in the town with plenty of free parking nearby. Very good value for money.
Reception welcome is basic but ok for we paid.
Clear and tidy And left to enjoy the rest of the stay
Don't really know food maybe but there were food and drinks right across the road c
Clean and tidy
Everything was very dated. The room was to warm at night, even with the window open.
It was cheap and tbh it looked a bit ropey from the outside, but the staff were friendly and my room was a good size, super clean and quiet. I slept like a baby.
It looked a bit jaded on the outside but fine on the inside.
No breakfast
For quick staycation it suited my needs
It was basic but very clean & well decorated & furnished. Our welcome was warm & helpful. It was well placed for the event we were attending.
The car park was a little difficult to negotiate & our room had a very small window with frosted glass.
Checked out within 5 minutes
Cleanliness.. general feel.. parking
Very warm and welcoming nice room clean and tidy
It’s a shame they didn’t offer breakfast
Staff member was pleasant and courteous
Rather odd hotel. My room was ‘outside’ and clearly not purpose built. The wet room was exceptionally slippery
Small and friendly. Would have been nice to have breakfast, but realise the hotel is up for sale and therefore understand breakfasts wouldn't be feasible.
Location and staff
Bad smell in bathroom, uneven floors and steps in room, very tight car park.
Friendly staff
The walls in the rooms away from the main building have no sound insulation. I was woken up by the person in the room next to mine snoring. I then listened to them snoring for 4 hours.
Good location.

A lovely welcome and a rather nice room and wet room.
At this price ? There is nothing you could wish for. I was very pkeaded.

On arrival it smelled very stale TV didn't work the owner was very helpful the hotel is just very tired and worn
Good location, clean and friendly

All of it
There was no breakfast. Restaurant was closedown.
The hotel is up for sale. Staff not interested in any complaint. Very rundown. Our sons room walls covered in stains. Smelt awful.
Location. Very basic facilities like back in the 80's! It was ok for an overnight stay.
Very tired property. I wouldn't choose it again.
Flexibility of staff, allowed me to check in a couple of hours early so I could change and get ready to attend a funeral. The room was clean and offerd tea / coffee facilities and the bed was comfortable. Additionally the shower was spotlessly clean and functioned adequately.
There was nothing that caused me great concern other than not having an option for breakfast. I was able to find this elsewhere locally
Cheap and cheerful with lovely staff. Great location for food within walking distance.
Parking wasn’t great but wasn’t the end of the world.
I am a regular guest at the hotel as I work in the area, the staff can't do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble. Excellent value for money, highly recommend.
The room was basic but that was all u was looking for - staff were friendly and helpful But I’m covered in bed bug bites today ( left yesterday ) Top arms and neck chin so I suspect it was the pillows but I’ve come home and thrown out the case and handbags and am washing every item of clothing and putting in the dryer to make sure I kill anything I believe they like cases and stitching The place is being sold and I u estate that they are mostly catering to workmen and letting the place run down However bed bugs aren’t on Hence the low scores This place used to be lovely I’ve stayed there before and the area is great But pretty run down now
The position and character and parking and really nice staff a nice warm room
Needs investment to make stunning
Tidy room, convenient location and friendly staff
Walls were a bit thin, could hear neighbours, but I wasn’t awful
Nice location on high street good parking Great Staff at reception
Nice old building with character staff were really nice
Great Location good parking great staff
Room needed a coat of paint but was ok
Location in Rothwell
Value for money, quality of room was poor, very basic
Nice staff. Room was nice and big for a single traveller. Easy access to shops and club
Sehr netter Empfang, Zimmer auch völlig okay.
Nothing
I never give bad reviews usually because everyone's opinion can be different however on this occasion I need to. We booked for two nights to have a base for a family wedding, but left after the first. The room was roasting hot even with the window open because of the pipes around the room. The person who greeted us to give us the key was trying to be helpful but when we asked if we needed a key to get into the building late on after the wedding, he replied no because the front door was left unlocked during the night. This made us feel unsafe. There was no food available at all, a tiny clothes hanger area and the beds were so uncomfortable and not even a bath mat for coming out of the shower. I apologise if I sound like a right grouch.
