It’s a beautiful building and the staff are very friendly
I stayed at this hotel last week on the 8th of September, which I booked due to work commitments. I should say that I stay in hotels once or twice a week every week due to my job so I like to book nice places to have some comfort whilst away from home hence me booking this hotel which looked lovely. When I arrived at the hotel and checked in the staff were extremely friendly and showed me to my room. When I arrived in the room, the carpet seemed a little dirty and the bathroom floor also, but nothing too terrible. My issue arose in the middle of the night when I rolled over in the bed to the other side and I felt something scratch me. I turned the light on and pulled the sheets back and to my horror there was a dirty used false fingernail in the bed. obviously, I was horrified, but it was the middle of the night so I just put the nail on the side and try to go back to sleep. In the morning when I woke, I noticed that one of the pillows on the other side of the bed under the top pillow look like it had lipstick stains on it to be honest it seems like the bed was made, but not changed. I went to reception to check out and explained the issue to the receptionist and showed her the nail. She seemed really embarrassed and apologised and called the hotel manager. After a few minutes the hotel manager arrived and I explained the situation to him and showed him the nail and he seemed really flustered and said he would look into it and call me. I left my telephone number and email address with him. To be honest, it seemed like he just wanted to push me out of the hotel as quickly as possible. Since then, I have had no contact from them despite the promise to look into it and call me. That room was definitely not clean. It seems like they just made the bed but didn’t actually change it or clean anything. I am also very disappointed at the attitude of the manager and also the fact that he didn’t follow through with his promise and contact me.

The location was beautiful, safe and quiet. The staff were nice and the charm and history of the property was lovely. The room accommodated my accessibility needs and although I’m not a constant wheelchair user, it is the most wheelchair friendly room I’ve stayed in, so it’s perfect for those who require space and a wet room alongside a bathroom if needed also. The food from the bar menu was lovely (really lovely hummus) and they catered for gluten free, with a really tasty gluten free roll that was lovely and moist, not the dry rolls I often get served. The spa was really lovely and the spaces to relax there are simply wonderful.
The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, it was lumpy and felt as though the springs were poking through.
We stayed one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was perfect. Stayed in a Superior Double, and it was lovely. Spacious, nice bathroom, AC, big windows. Comphy bed and bedding. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent, highly recommend dining there. Breakfast was fine, nothing special but had everything. Used the spa both day we came and in the morning, and pool and saunas were nice. Changing rooms a bit run down, but still perfectly fine. Nice outdoor space too to relax.
Not much to complain about, but would be nice to have a fridge in the room. Also the WiFi and 5G reception is generally poor, which is a bit annoying, but if you don’t have to be 100% available or connected it’s fine. But would be good to get better WiFi as more and more people need that.
The property was full of character. Very clean and comfortable
The rooms had names and I found it difficult to find my way around
The room was very comfortable. Dinner was excellent and breakfast better than most.
The car park is quite a hike from the hotel. Cars parked nearby were badly parked and more vehicles could have used the space.
Great venue for the wedding we attended. The Orangery was really lovely, and that’s where we spent most of the time. The courtyard is also very nice to sit and have drinks. Lovely old building but was well appointed inside.
Tv didn’t have a very good signal in our room, so it kept freezing the picture, or losing it altogether.
The lodges were beautifully decorated and very well equipped to a fantastic standard.

Fantastic old historic house
Just everything. Amazing stay. Highly recommended
Nothing. I love this place
Just everything about it the building was lovely
Nothing to dislike
Couldn’t get link to work to sign in car veg etc before arrival . Fortunately someone was coming out of gates so we didn’t have to wait too long for access as no one responded when we rang through at gate
Our stay surpassed our expectations Rushton Hall Hotel is simply stunning The location, the facilities, the service. food, bedroom, are all perfect

Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, staff very attentive warm and welcoming.. Most comfortable bed we have ever shared, food excellent value, dinner and breakfast outstanding quality and choice. A memorable wedding day we shall always remember
Reminder to guests to bring their swimming costumes when emailing nearer the time so they can enjoy the spa you have to offer. More disabled parking nearer to check in, I had to drop off my husband with our overnight bag and park the car further away.
Stunning building in beautiful countryside. Lovely room
Nothing
Beautiful place to stay, so quiet and peaceful surrounded by nature and lots of history.
Nothing just wish I stayed another night.
Swimming pool was very nice - jacuzzi - too hot, no outdoor swimming pool and hot tub - but this was shown on the website. Our room had access to a courtyard which was very pleasant
Our booking was changed without consultation from a twin to a double - this caused problems as I was sharing a room with my sister and I needed to make phone calls to rectify this. I had a torn robe in my room with a used tissue in the pocket Biscuits were not replenished during our stay and when asked they had run out of biscuits. No milk was left in the room - we had to ask at reception and were provided with 4 small cartons. Fridge was unplugged and so nothing was cold that we put in the fridge and this was only discovered by us on the last day.
We all loved the dinner and also the breakfast. None of us uswed the spa but we all took a long walk in the beautiful grounds.
We thought the dinner prices were slightly high.
The view was amazing and staff was lovely
That there was no map where to get to my room and not enough direction inside and there was no hair dryer or fridge in the room x
Absolutely stunning! Such a beautiful building and grounds!!
Zeer comfortabel en leuk personeel
What an amazing place. So peaceful, our room “oak bedchamber” was beautiful and the bed so comfortable. The food was fabulous. The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Thank you

History of the building
Receptionist not particularly welcoming. Very badly stained carpet in the bedroom. Made us question general cleanliness standards of what we could not see.
Beautiful setting, really enjoyed the terracce on a lovely summers evening, very tranquil.
Beautiful setting with wonderful interiors and exterior grounds to explore. The spa is really good and highly recommended. The room was well put together and the bed very comfortable. Our server in the brasserie was exceptional.
Some ceiling spot lights in the room didn't work, the kettle sensor was broken so kept boiling without stopping, we had no hot water in the overhead shower, the carpets were stained and in need of deep cleaning or replacing. The worst part for us were the flies in the buffet breakfast rooms, as many of the food items were uncovered, notably the cheeses and pastries flies were landing all over them! Unacceptable for the £20 fee for breakfast.

Price of breakfast when we only wanted a very small amount
Everything except the Spa. The staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. My room was comfortable. The grounds were exceptionally beautiful. I would have enjoyed a lot of leisurely walks but it was constant showers in between some sunshine.
The spa was well appointed but the minute I walked into the pool area my eyes felt sore. It seemed they had got the chemical mix wrong for the pool and it pervaded the whole area. I did stay for a couple of hours in and out of the pool, sauna and relaxing on the beds. Various beautiful secluded areas. My eyes and face continued to be uncomfortable however. Now, this may have been my sensitivity but I have been in a number of spas over the years and not experienced this problem. Or it could have been a one off. I did report it when I left the hotel that evening and my eyes were mildly sore for a few days. I had planned to go back to the spa the following day but couldn’t cope with that again. I decided to leave early as I prefer my home comforts. But I would certainly recommend the venue and plan to return for afternoon tea with friends.
A wonderful stay with excellent staff in a stunning setting. Spa was especially clean and enjoyable.
This place is bursting with history, it is simply jaw dropping. The grounds are simply beautiful as well. Go to the bar area and try sitting in the high quality sofas, you will sink in to them and literally drink in the atmosphere as you survey all the history around you. Rushton Hall creates a feeling that very few hotels can create. We will be back but for longer next time.
Nothing that had anything to do with the hotel. We arrived late for a 1 night stay, so didn't have chance to explore more of the architectural masterpiece.
A wonderful historic building and beautiful grounds. I just couldn't stop taking photos !
Can't think of anything.
My room was upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite. Breastfast was excellent Staff were all friendly and helpful and professional
If they had a walk in shower
The hotel building is magnificent. Driving towards it is a ‘wow’ moment. We had a fabulous room on the first floor overlooking the courtyard. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The bar and brasserie are both beautiful with attentive staff. We had a great stay and will return.

The entire place is stunning both inside and outside. Food was amazing and the bar staff fabulous!
Had a wonderful stay at this property, the entrance, drive up, rooms, dinner - everything was great, was able to play tennis with free racquets and balls from the spa. Will definitely be back!
The historic surroundings and staff were fantastic and the food was outstanding too.
That we had to leave!
Beautiful setting and building
Breakfast was crowded and we would have preferred table service rather than buffet.
Such a lovely place, of course its old, that's the charm of it, massive rooms, steeped in history, romantic, Spa is great, nice Staff. Finn, our waiter at Dinner was a fantastic chap, great character, Maggie who seemed to run the restaurant was lovely and of course Hannah in the Spa. The lady in the Spa restaurant, (16th June 2026) smiley, welcoming... Thank you guys for making it all special during our two night stay. we walked the grounds, its all very romantic and we had some relaxing together time. The bill adds up when you have had dinner etc but I have no complaint in that, you need to understand and accept the whole experience of where you are staying.
We did have a couple of issues, twice we had to report our TV not working but it got sorted, the TV in the bathroom had no remote and Housekeeping never did get that working. Housekeeping never made our bed and did not put the throw back on it but they may say that's because there was a pile of empty envelopes on the bed from my birthday cards, we take that point but they also did not replenish shampoos etc. Lets be clear, that would not stop us going back, overall it was great. Thank you.
My room was not up to my expectations for such a hotel. Decor was tired and grubby. The balcony was filthy with uncleared moss and cigarette ends.
Great spa The grounds and gardens were beautiful
At the price we paid to then have to pay for breakfast seems excessive
Peaceful, staff friendly, hotel is lovely

Stunning property! Amazing grounds, everything was perfect

All the staff were excellent in their service, The property was idylic
Stunning grounds to walk around. Staff very attentive. Lovely breakfast (not included in room rate), was excellent. Great Spa.
Room was difficult to locate and there is trip hazard on route (second floor). I did fall because there is no change in carpet colour to emphasise the drop and while moving suitcases it is not obvious.
Absolutely stunning historic building and as such is a little creaky but full of character and beauty. All the usual comforts you would expect of a high quality hotel
Some long runs of steps to the 2nd floor gave us burning thighs! No lift in that sort of the old building
Very clean and staff were good
Incredible building
Lovely place
Lovely place
The rooms are gorgeous. The zodiac room is fantastic and gets gorgeous light. The restaurant is great the sirloin was probably one the the best steaks I've ever had.
The breakfast is not worth £20. I'd literally have rather gone to a weatherspoons. The sausages were far to gamey for breakfast. The bacon was dry as cardboard. I paid £20 to eat tomatoes hash browns and mushrooms. Do not recommend. Other than that the hotel is absolutely fantastic
Loved every single part of this hotel and the room was sublime, I even received a free upgrade which was amazing.
Nothing to dislike... Loved it all!
Staff very friendly and respectful . Food was excellent , if a little expensive .. loved our stay and will go back soon ..
Nothing much to complain about
Gorgeous place, beautifully furnished and delightful staff. Such a relaxing place to be. Quiet, unobtrusive background piano music just right. Whole place has an air of calm, welcoming tranquility.
It's a tiny detail, but please put coat hooks in the rooms near the door. Breakfast machine coffee was not good - and with UHT milk (or so it tasted). A quality cappuccino is the most important element of any breakfast for me.

Never been treated so poorly by staff in all my life
Lauren was an absolute standout during our stay and truly set the tone for a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. As the receptionist, she greeted us with such genuine warmth and kindness that we immediately felt welcome and at ease. Nothing was too much trouble for her — she was incredibly helpful, attentive, and always happy to assist with anything we needed. What really made an impression was her lovely personality. Lauren has a natural way of making guests feel valued and cared for, and her positive attitude never wavered. Whether it was answering questions, offering recommendations, or simply sharing a friendly smile, she consistently went above and beyond. She is a true asset to the hotel, and her professionalism combined with her warmth made our stay even more enjoyable. We’re so grateful for her help and hope the hotel recognizes what a gem they have in Lauren. Thank you for making our visit so memorable! Shout out no Olivia too for upgrading us to the zodiac room for our anniversary it was a dream stay xx
Everything
Beautiful surroundings, trees, lake and gardens. Beds were so comfy with so soft sheets. The pool, sauna and steam room were great additions to our stay.
The evening meal menu was very expensive so we ate at the Thornhill Arms.
The hotel was beautiful and vey comfortable. Food was excellent in the Brasserie restaurant. Pool in leisure was very well equipped.
The porter on day of arrival helped us with luggage , but when we checked out no one was o available Porter as hotel only employed one and he was off duty..
Simply the best - in all respects
Very beautiful bright, friendly

Food was excellent as was staff quality and friendliness. Comfortable lounge and bar.
Apart the expensive food costs could not fault the hotel
We liked the whole experience Amazing setting/building . Staff all very welcoming also enjoyed the spa and the restaurant.
Nothing we didn’t like
A magnificent building and parkland. So many interesting architectural features and beautifully furnished with period pieces. The staff were exceptionally friendly and made us feel very welcome. The dinner and service was excellent with special care being taken to acknowledge my sister in laws 60th birthday. Very Well done Rushton Hall Hotel.

The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely grounds and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were polite and acted quickly to move me to another room once I reported an mould issue.
The original room had visible mould and damp on the wall, which was disappointing and concerning from a hygiene perspective. I had to move rooms late in the evening, which disrupted my stay. Follow-up communication regarding compensation has also been lacking.
I booked a deluxe room and got upgraded to a king suite for free which was amazing.
Staff made us so welcome
Absolutely nothink
I had a melt back massage with Lisa, it was honestly the best massage I’ve ever had. Fantastic experience, staff professional and friendly and food was amazing. Will definitely come back again.
First time visiting Rushton Hall Hotel and Spa, despite being right on my doorstep! Everyone was so lovely and welcoming. The hot stone massage with Hannah was wonderful. Thank you 💗
The room, bed , large bath, beautiful. Beautiful grounds
Breakfast should come free with the room as we paid £135.00
